I'm having trouble getting my "pop3" email account to work on my new ipad.  Help

I am having trouble with getting my "pop" email account to work on my Ipad.  I either get a message that the username or passworb is incorrect, or the server
is incorrect.

Apps and music are not part of the backup at all.
You should always keep a copy of everything onyour computer.  If you did not do this, then they are gone.
You cna redownload some itunes purchases in some coutnries:

    That requires you to enter the configuration correctly.  You can find out the configuration for your email from your ISPs website in most cases. Or if you're using Gmail, Yahoo, or Hotmail you need only Google something like:
    "Gmail configuration for Apple Mail"  or  "Hotmail configuration for Apple Mail" (without the quotes). 
    That should get you started..

    My new ipad is great except I am having issues with email.  I tried making all the settings match my iiphone which is finally working properly but there is one setting that it will not let me change which I believe is the critical one.  Anyone have a fix?

  • Having trouble setting up one email account

    Hello,
    I bought a Passport yesterday and am having one major issue.  I have 3 email accounts through Yahoo and 2 of them addeded with no problem at all.  However, one (my main one, of course) transferred briefly, then disappeared and now when I try to add it I get the message "Accounts.  At this time your email and contacts accounts can't be added.  Please try again later."
    I've tried...and tried...and TRIED.  Nothing changes.  Any suggestions?

    Don't assume your experience is the rule.
    I have been using Yahoo two-factor authentication on Z10 and on Passport with no issue.   Now Z10 being used by wife with her Yahoo email and with two-factor authentication, and again no trouble.
    To add, I would not advise going backward to a less secure method.   Simple username and password authentication is not advisable nowadays

  • Having trouble getting refund on closed account-BT...

    Hi, I recently moved house and ordered a home move. In doing so I arranged to pay a years line rental in advance, but for reasons I have never got to the bottom of the order was canceled and once I finally managed to reorder I was given a new account number. However, I have had trouble getting Bt to close my old account and pay me the £220 they owe me (£141 line rental and a further £60 in direct debit charged to my old account). BT acknowledge that they owe me the money but tell me it will only be paid back to me once a final bill is generated but each time I call I am given a different time scale as to when this will be-first call said in 2-3 working days, next call 7-8 days and today's call it was increased to 40 days. I have twice called the customer complaint number only to be directed to billing where I have asked to speak with a manager. Each time. I am told that the manager will phone me back and they never call. Tonight I was told that the manager will phone back within 2 mins - 39 mins later I'm still waiting. I'm pretty much at my wits end with this-how can I get my money back? Any ideas?

    I just upgraded my BC account and forwarded my domain from the registrar (in my case: Network Solutions). So, now I'm in the process of setting up my email account in BC so that everything works and I'm getting this message:
    Error 
    Account details for this user can only be updated via the site where it was first created.
    I don't understand this. Don't I need to set up my email with the hosting company (which is now BC)?

  • I am having trouble with my online email account when I use firefox,because of the time out.

    I go to my email account on the server's webpage. Do not use weblive or outlook. When I am typing a long email, it will not save or send because it expires according to a message that comes up from firefox. It is lost.

    First, as a workaround, you might be able to use this extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/lazarus-form-recovery/
    But we should try to figure out why you are getting logged out. Here are two possibilities:
    (1) Connection - Yahoo and AOL may keep demanding a password if your connection setting is "Auto-detect". You can change it to "No Proxy" here:
    "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Network mini-tab > "Settings" button
    (2) Incomplete cookies - websites maintain access to your session using cookies, so if you are rejecting third party cookies or use an add-on to clean up cookies as you browse, that could cause a problem staying logged in. Sometimes cookies also become corrupted, so the first step would be to flush what you have for the site. (See below)
    When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
    Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
    Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
    "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
    On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
    If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
    (2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
    Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

    I was wondering if anybody has any ideas on how to remove a gmail account that was set up by a community college for use on their mail servers and then find out that after awhile they have locked you out because they have started using office 365 for their
    emails and you are left with a student email account that you have no idea how to delete because you have missied out on deleting it before they changed to a different email provider?
    Anybody with ideas please help because I don't know what to do

    Regarding to Windows Mail App, do you mean the Modern UI App in Windows 8.1? Do you mean that you want to remove the email account from Mial App? Generally, we can simply remove the account by the "Account" option in Mail App (Open Mail App, move
    the mouse the right chram bar, click Account, then click the mail account\Remove account), but if the email acocunt is tied with the Microsoft Account which is used on the pc, in that case, it is unavailable to remove the email account, you need to contact
    your college to disconnect the Microsoft Account.
    If I'm misunderstanding something, please free correct me.

  • IPhone - having trouble setting up bellsouth email account

    My sister just bought the new iPhone 3gs and we can't seem to set up her e-mail account on it. I have the "old" iPhone 3g and have the same email settings as she does (bellsouth.net) and was able to set it up prior to upgrading to the new 3.0 software. I am not sure if that would be an issue. We have followed the directions (fill in her name, e-mail address, password, press save and then it stays on that screen forever) and nothing happens.
    Has this happened to anyone else? Any suggestions?

    iTunes will have a radio button or something like it on the PC version. Look under the Info tab with the phone selected in iTunes. Go to the mail accounts and select the account. If that doesn't work, log onto Bell South and look up email settings. I use a Mac too. There is a note, FYI, that states to add accounts, do it on the iPhone...... I'm hoping the account is already there for you. Good luck.
