Cant send mail using hotspot

Hi. I have started using my iPhone 4S as a WiFi hotspot for my MBP when on the road. Mail collects from all my accounts ok but I cant send any mails from my MBP thru the Hotspot connection. I dont get any error message, just the spinning icon next to the sent mailbox and no info in the activity window. Any ideas welcome. thanks

Are you sending mail using a Broadband provider account?
For instance, Virgin Media Mail can only be send through the Virgin Media Sever when you are actually connected to your Virgin Media line (at home)
An attempt to send mail using the outgoiong server smtp.virgin.com will be blocked if it isn't coming down one of their own lines.
To cure it, you'll need to add a different smtp server to our mail account that can be used while youo're out an about. Normally this would be the smtp server that your phone company gives you i.e smtp.orange.co.uk or whatever.

Cant send mail (well not all mail)

Hi all,
After the disapoinment of icards no longer being around i downloaded some stationery for mail.
upon trying to send it i get cannot send message using dot mac.
When watching the mail activity bar it goes upt about 50kbs then down to 0.
I have tried one line txt emails and they send fine to my gmail but cant send the stationery ones!
i have deleted my account from mail and then added it again still cant.
My ipod touch can send mail using the same wifi network, so cant be my ISP or my network.
i have tried smtp.me.com and smtp.mac.com with and without SSL etc etc to no avail.
im running a g5 with 10.5 on it fully updated and using mobile me, (dot mac sound so much better!!)
So any ideas would be helpful

even i am facing the same issue i am using email account which is on exchange server 2008 and able to recieve emails perfectly fine but, issue is when i try to send email thru my Mac mail client ( mail 3.0 [930.3]) it gives error. I checked this connection doctor as well didnt got any error messAGE authentication was done . I have set up my yahoo mail account on my Nokia C6-01. I receive mails as they should do. But I Cant send mail. When I compose a mail and try to send it it just stays in outbox. I have set the mailbox settings correctly. While my gmail account works fine to send mails. Mails are sent instantly. Is anyone else going thru this trouble? And I Cant set up the Ovi mail mailbox. Well, it works fine if you use Nokia messaging service. If you use the standard mailbox it has been failing. I have some reservations about Nokia messaging service and thats why I dont want to use it.

Hi, i am having the same problem. this is what i have noticed.
I have 2 x imac's and 2 x macbook air's
i upgraded the 2 macbook air's and 1 of the imac's to Mountain Lion, all these have problems acessing sites that require you to login .
the one remaining imac is still running lion and works perfect.
i am using a dlink router with DD-WRT firmware, i tested teathering from my iphone and i can log into websites fine using the newly upgraded mac's.
It's not a wireless issue as my imac is using an ethernet connection.
is there a compatibility issue with some routers.

I would try sending just basic text first, then move on to getting your other pieces dynamics. The very last step to me would be the email body.

Cannot Send Mail using AIM account.

I can receive mail fine but when I try to send mail I get the following message:

Issue while sending mails using classes

Hi Experts ,
i have one issue when i try to send mails using classes cl_document_bcs,cl_cam_address_bcs,cl_bcs etc
ISSUE :
i put some data in selection screen and i get some output ( say i got 5 records), i select 3 records and press some button to trigger mail and mail is send, and now again the OUTPUT screen is shown with sended records but we can not send these records again ............ now i selcect remaining two records and press button to trigger mail and THIS TIME MAIL IS NOT SEND.

Every time when i choose other network or dongle to send those mails it gets sent.
As per the description, seems it's an issue related to this specific network. Probably, they've adjusted their security policy, like blocked some port numbers, etc.
You might need to contact the support of your ISP to confirm what SMTP settings you need. Check port number, and security settings.

Send mail using Internal Mail server doesn't work

I can't send mail using my companies mail server, which requires authentication and port 587 to send. We have a valid, non self-signed SSL certificate so that is not the issue. I can send mail using Bell's mail server but that violates our regulatory compliance obligations.
The server using POP3 and one must login to get mail as well as send. Unfortunately there is no otehr error message than the: error sending "mail subject". No further details are provided and when we check the mail servers logs its clear the Pre isn't even attempting to connect to the mail server. So the request to send mail isn't even being sent out. That could be an issue with the Pre or with Bell but Bell support will only troubleshoot to the point of fidning out if you can send using their mail server. We can so their support stops at that point.
I still have v1.3.1 of the WebOS as v1.3.5 doesn't seem to be out for the Bell Pre's yet. But from what I've read v1.3.5 is even worse at handling mail not better. However, there may be a solution out there to this beyond sending the Pre's back (I doubt we can) as Balckberry's and iPhone's don't have this issue.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Further update on this problem. It does send if I use TLS instead of SSL so that must mean that the Palm Pre doesn't use SSLv3 or higher. As TLS is a viable security setting option to maintain compliance I can use that. But still Plam should seriously consider upgrading tis SSL versioning.
