Canvas disappear on click out flex

I know this is probably a dumb question, but I'm new to this and can't figure it out.
I have a canvas that becomes visible when the user clicks a button. The canvas contains some elements (TextInput, ComboBox etc.). I want the canvas to disappear whenever the user clicks anywhere outside of the canvas (but of course NOT when the user clicks on elements within the canvas). I though this would accomplished with a focusOut event but I can't seem to get it working.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

hi,
One thought is to monitor the click event for the app, if the event.target.parent or the event.target = thebox then leave visible true other wise make visible false.

I am adjusting to CS6 on a Windows 7 machine, and cannot figure out why clicking any part of my canvas with either the bounding box tool, select path tool, or text tool make the canvas disappear.
The file, and all of its layers were working fine--allowing me to edit as I had in CS 3 (the last version I used). Suddenly, I'm unable to edit text because if I click on the line of it, the work area goes dark! Clicking on the MOVE tool recovers the usual view.
Have I inadvertantly changed some mysterious setting? If so, I'm incredibly frustrated about a problem that should be easy to detect and fix.

This sounds like your GPU (Graphics processor) is having a problem with the heavier demands CS6 places on it.
For starters, go to Edit > Preferences > Performance and where Use Graphics Processor is checked, click on Advanced and see if a lower setting, Normal or Basic works for you.
If it doesn't, uncheck Use Graphics Processor.
Next go to to the manufacturer website that makes your GPU, noting the model under Help > System info, and look for and install updated drivers.
Hopefully this will fix it.

When using Typewriter tool, text disappears when I click out of box...

I'm sure I've seen this question addressed here before but I cannot make the "Search" work. Every time I search I get "no results" even when I search for something as obvious as PDF.
So please forgive me posting a question that I'm pretty sure has been answered in the past...
When I use the Typewriter tool to type some text, and then I click out of the text box that the Typewriter tool created, the text that I typed disappears. If I double-click on the typewriter text box then the text reappears. Then if I click out, the text disappears. And so on...
How do I make that text stay "viewable" even when I click out of the typewriter text box?

Here is an image where the box with the Typewriter text (the word "test) is "activated", with the comments list showing down below but without the "test" comment in the comment list being highlighted. At the green "plus sign arrow" in the upper-right corner is the word "test".
Now below is an image where the box with the Typewriter text (the word "test") is not "activated" (but you can see the blue box where the word "test" should be showing), with the comments list showing down below, with the "test" comment highlighted, and the "Comments" dropdown menu so that you can see what's black in the dropdown menu.
When I clicked on the "test" comment in the comment list, the word "test" went away in the upper-right corner and the blue box showed up instead.
Am I showing what you need to see or should I show something different?

Canvas disappear on sending multiple requests specifically from IE 11

I have a page which displays few javascript charts on it. I am using RGraph chart API to generate charts. The charts are been generated from a separate Ajax call.
The page is working fine with IE 7, 8, 9 and 10. Then recently I have upgraded to IE 11. After upgrade the page is not working as intended. On performing refresh operation for about 3-4 times, section of some charts are been disappers. It displays
blank section instead of chart. And random charts gets disapper. It is not fix that some specific charts will fade away.
And when this issue occur, all the CSS on the page goes messy.
I have checked for any javascript related error generated or not. But I didn't found any javascript error on the console.
I have checked from development tool. The canvas tag is available, bit it does not display on the page. It shows a blank section instead.
Any idea why this is happening?

Mobile drop down menu won't disappear once I have clicked one of the links in the drop down to take me to an anchor further down the page. I want the drop down to disappear upon clicking and scroll at the same time.

Basically I have a drop down menu, which i have tried to create numerous times with different widgets available in muse or as freebies on the net.
The menu within the drop down is a manual menu and each button links to an anchor on the page, so that when clicked the page scrolls to that anchor.
My problems is that once I have clicked one of the links to go to the anchor further down the page the drop down remains. For the purpose of User Experience and fluidity across the mobile design i would like the drop down to disappear on click of the anchor link. Is this possible?

Inbox Doesn't Show New Mail Until I Click Out of Inbox and Click Back In

Hello, I originally posted this in the Microsoft Community, but I was told to post here instead. HELP!!! Nobody I know seems to have an answer for this.
I have Outlook 2010 connected to Exchange (work email). Whenever I get new mail, I have to click out of the Inbox and then click back in, in order to see and open my new mail. I do receive the pop-up notification in the lower right hand corner, and
I receive the "(1)" notification next to "Inbox" on the left side menu (that's how I know when I have new mail), but no actual email shows in the Reading/Window Pane. It's like I have to refresh my Inbox.
The problem does not exist with any of my Inbox subfolders - only the Inbox itself.
When I had my department help desk remote in, the problem ceased (making me sound crazy), but when the technician logged off remote access, boom, the problem was back.
I've searched the internet, contacted my help desk multiple times, and deleted and re-created my Outlook profile, but nothing has worked so far.
Any insight into this issue would be greatly appreciated, as this problem is a pain!

I am unable to use safari....when I try to click out of it I am unable to do so, it is faded....when I click onto safari, I get the apple page. Please advise.

By default, www.apple.com is the page that Safari loads when starting. You can change that by clicking on "Safari" in the menu bar, then "Preferences", the "General" tab, then playing with the options and entry under "Safari opens with:" and "Homepage:"

HT1390 I just rented a movie on itunes but I don't know how to make it play. I clicked out of itunes and now when I go back into itunes, I don't see a way to play the movie I just downloaded. Help.

Welcome to the Apple Community Vane_paranormal.
If you rent a movie on your phone, you have to watch it on your phone, likewise if you rent it from the Apple TV you will have to watch it there.
If you want to watch a rental on multiple devices, rent it from a computer.

Canvas disappearing in applet

I have a canvas with a drawing added to a Panel on my applet. I posted the applet on my website, when I visit the site, after the page is refreshed, the canvas disappears. Also, once I've opened Safari, if I revisit the page, the canvas won't show up at all, but when I quit Safari and reopen it, it shows up again until the page is refreshed. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Submenu disappears after click in Firefox only

I have created a horizontal spry menu which is working fine, but in Firefox the submenu disappears after clicking a submenu item - you then have to roll over the parent menu item to make the submenu visible again. In Safari the submenu remains visible even after clicking an item. I would prefer the menu to behave as it does in Safari. A link to the site is www.jakeharris.ca if anyone can help - look at it in Safari and Firefox to see the differences (not sure how it is in IE!)

That is how the submenu is programmed to work...to hide when you get to the page you call.
Although my Safari did not work the way yours did (I am on XP), I think what you are actually asking about is what I would call "local page indicators." That is, a kind of 'sign' that you are on a specific page.
In your case, for each page, you would show an "open" menu with the appropriate menu list item highlighted with your normal hover color.
There may be a way in the javascript to allow the submenu on a page to be always "on" or open, but I don't know much about javascript, so I can't help with that.
If you have not used a Template to build the pages, it is even easier than fiddling with the javascript, if a tiny bit timeconsuming.
Locally-significant styling is pretty straightforward, in theory.
On each page, replace the class on the top menu item (on the main bar) for that page (right now it will say something like <li><a class="MenuBarItemSubmenu" href="#">Item 1</a> with a new class (you might call it "localpage") so you can make descendant selectors that apply to showing the submenu. Then write styles that cancel the 'hide' technique...get rid of the left: -1000em; for instance. I haven't gone through and worked this through, but it should work. Let me know if you need code; I need to go to breakfast right now, though!
Then make another class to style the individual items for their pages, for instance .local that can be grouped with the hover styles that change the item color when you hover over them:

On each page, add this class to the menu item that pertains to that page:

on the "Chasing Wild Horses" page, for instance.
This is a pretty subtle and elegant solution to what most people use <h1> heads for. Keep in mind, though, that if you want SEO to understand your page, without a hierarchical text indicator, it might be too subtle, as h1, h2, etc. heads help to indicate levels of importance of content for search engines and screen readers.
But it will look great, nonetheless.

I am watching a video taken from a helicopter and need to track this in google earth.... everytime i click out of the adobe premiere window.. ie. in to google earth, the video pauses in premiere... i really want this video to continue running whilst i navigate in google earth... is there a way i can stop adobe pausing?

Spry Submenus Don't Disappear On Click

I am trying to use Spry menus, but the submenus do not
disappear on click. When a user selects a submenu item, the submenu
stays open even after the user has made a selection. The user has
to move the mouse away from the drop down menu in order for it to
disappear. This is clumsy.
What can I do to get around this? Any ideas?

If it was designed that way, I think it is a design flaw.
Once you click a selection on a submenu, you are done using
the submenu, and it should go away. That is how most desktop
software is designed.
I'm using items on the menu as links to another page that
appear in a DIV. The problem is, the submenu covers the top part of
the DIV, and the user cannot see if it worked or not.

PS CS4 canvas disappears

I've been experiencing this weird bug with CS4 where the canvas somehow gets minimized or just somehow disappears while all the tools and even layer . This becomes an issue when you are trying to close out photoshop and you are asked to save the document. You are unable to verify whether changes have been made or if anything has shifted since you last viewed the doc. Anyone else experience this or have a solution to prevent it from happening?

It happens to me sometimes too. Like just now.
Buko, when you are in Finder, say, and you want to shut down the computer and click onto Photoshop (i'm on an iMac 2.66GHz Intel Core Duo) with open docs minimized down in the dock you want to maybe save and quit, or don't save and quit, or undo a couple steps and quit, they just disappear.
They are shown under the Window menu at the bottom like normal, but are nowhere to be seen onscreen. You go to Quit and a dialog comes up "Save changes to whatever.doc before quitting?", but you can't get to the document in order to know. So you have to save changes hoping to hell you didn't flatten an image you'll need layers for later or something. Or vice-versa. Infuriating. Is it some keyboard shortcut? If it helps, this happened when I cmd-tabbed to select Photoshop from my open apps.
Apologies if this is addressed in another thread.
