Canvas flashes red on playback, resart needed

has anyone else encountered the following FCP bug since the last round of apple updates:
FCP works fine for hours then every playback n the canvas flashes red; as if there is a frame of video then a frame of pure red, then a frame of video etc. It's red strobing effect. I need to restart my mac to get the problem to disappear.
Is this a known issue?
It's only happened since I last updated the OS, pro apps etc

I just had this issue too.. and solved it.
red flashes with jpeg-codec.mov / prores422.mov and I'm running a bunch of apps and have nvidia card.
I realised that I was playing a youtube video in the background through safari.
When it stopped, which was the only change I made, the flashes went...
THEREFORE.. the problem was that there is not enough memory/power/whatever is needed to refresh the fcp canvas at a suitable framerate so it was lowered automatically to suit the memory - red possibly just being a default colour to warn.

I'm a new FCP 6.0.2 user, so forgive my ignorance, but when I've viewed tutorials, it seems that you should be able to view everything in the timeline within the canvas without rendering, but whenever I hit play within the canvas, I get a blue flashing screen that beeps "Unrendered" at me. How do I make this go away? Is there a setting I'm missing or am I just misguided in my expectations?

I think you will need the services of an iPad repair center. If you search for an independent iPad repair center, the cost of a non-warranty repair should be less than at the Apple Authorized Repair Centers.
One thing you can try is to reset (reboot) your iPad. Hold both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears. Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow. The iPad will restart after a couple of minutes. Resetting this way will not hurt anything, and sometimes clears up mysterious problems.

Apologies for the slightly pedantic answer, but in application terms, "closed" and "quit" are two different things. An application such as Safari can have several windows open, and each of them can be closed using the red button in the corner.
However, even after all windows are closed, the application is still running until you specifically quit it. You can tell it's still running by the small light under its icon in the Dock. If you hold your cursor down on the icon for a few seconds, you should see a pop up menu with the "Quit" option - click that to quit it. Or, click the icon once (this may launch a new window), then either go to the Safari menu and click Quit, or click cmd-Q, to completely quit the app.

My Curve won't turn on and no sign of flashing red light

I m all new to this blackberry forum thing....anyway i have a blackberry curve and all of a sudden yesterday it just stopped working. when i looked at the phone the screen was all white so i took out the battery and put it back on thinking that it will come back up but it didnt. Then i took the battery out again and plugged it to the USB(without the battery) because ususally it comes back up, but it still didnt. i put the battery again and plugged it to the USB thinking that it needs to charge but still no since of that flashing red light. I took the battery out and put my friends battery (cos he has a curve too) but still it didnt work. I did try holding down the power (red)button still not back on.
I just dont understand whats wrong with it, its not like i dropped it in the water or dropped it on the floor. I didnt do anything to it. It just stopped working.
Im really frustrated right now...I just dont know what to do..i hope someone can help me

I finally got my curve to work. I just left it on the charger for a while and then it powered up. It seems if its a little low on power and I don't charge it relatively soon it shuts down and won't power up for awhile. I've also updated the software and cleaned out the junk files. It seems to be working fine now, go figure.

Broadband light flashing red

On my Gateway all lights are green except for Broadband 2 which is flashing red. We have restarted the gateway multiple times and checked the wires. Please let me know what else I can do. Thanks!

Someone told me that if the power light on a Toshiba tube TV is flashing red, that meant the tube was damaged beyond repair. Is this true?

While certain LED codes can indicate that a television needs servicing, I don't think any LED code will indicate that a television is damaged beyond repair. What model has the red flashing LED?

SX 60 HS There is a flashing red camera icon

There is a flashing red camera icon after I press the shutter button halfway. I can't seem to find out what that means. I searched the user manual,. Perhaps, I am just missing it or calling it the wrong thing. Or perhaps it is so obvious that it doesn't need to be called out specifically.
Any help would be appreciated.

That flashing camera icon is an indicator for camera shake and that you should probably use a tripod or flash since the shutter speed is most likely very slow. Page 175 of the user manual provides the following information to deal with the issue:

Did my new phone seriously just crash? What do I do now? I left it overnight with the white screen, thinking maybe it'll go away and needs time to upgrade. Woke up this morning, nope still white screen. Very disappointed with Apple. I was so excited to get my phone and can't even use it right now.

First turn the iPhone off and back on and see if it works. If that doesn't work then do a Reset by holding the Sleep / Wake Button (The Power Button) and the Home Button at the same time until the white Apple Logo appears, the release both Buttons and wait until a Full Reset occurs. The iPhone 6 should come back to your Lock-Screen. If that doesn't work then you could connect the iPhone 6 via the Lightning Cable to a Computer with a Current Version of iTunes. Then open iTunes on the Computer and wait until your see a Button that represents your attached iPhone and click on it. This should bring up a Summary Screen on the Computer within iTunes. At that point your can choose Update Software if an Update is available or Restore the iPhone to Factory Settings / New In The Box, or you could try to Restore from your Backup if a current Backup had already been saved from a previous iPhone.
If you don't have a computer with iTunes and you can get the iPhone back on, then go to Settings>General>Software Update and see if the iPhone is still on iOS 8.0 or if it is now on iOS 8.0.2

Your operating system needs to be reloaded as some of the software is corrupt.

My NVG589 router is flashing red on the Broadband 2 line. How do I fix this?

Hi, There were some storms that came throught my area yesterday/last night and my router now has the Broadband2 line flashing red. I've reset my router twice now and it still keeps doing it. It appears that this is related to my email since I haven't been able to receive email since that happened. I can surf the web, but cannot receive email. Help!! John

The email issue is likely separate from this issue. When it comes to your Broadband 2 light, it's indicating a problem with one of the cable pairs within your line that needs to be checked.

Flashing Red Screen and freezing

I am needing help please. I have bought a macbook pro (Last Nov. 2009) version 10.6. with a 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and I have 4 GB memory. I have been taking advantage of the macupdate software packages and I am not sure if new software is causing my problem. My computer has frozen lately when doing a few tasks at once. Most often when working with picture software. The most disturbing is when my computer goes to the screen saver which was one of the software products I purchased: My Living Desktop Scenes, the screen begins to flash red and only stops when I touch a key or other to take it out of the screen saver. I have had the living desktop software installed for weeks now and I have only had this problem start recently. The last package of software I bought was the Mac Graphoto 2 applications (Image framer, Sandvox, snapshot, sketch, layers, postern etc...). I have really only used image framer and postern so far. The problems seem to have begun after downloading some of this software. What should I do? I have five days before my 1 year warranty runs out. Do these software bundles cause more problems than they are worth or maybe have nothing to do with my problem?? Any help is appreciated.
P.s My computer also seemed to be slowing down whether working with applications or being on the internet, so I followed another threads suggestion on shutting the computer down and holding the power button for five seconds and then shutting down and holding the control, P and R buttons and this seems to have helped speed but not the flashing or freezing. Hope this is enough detail.

I have a Mac Mini (2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3 memory) and I am also having the same issues with the red screen. No Living desktop on my desktop...just a solid red - sometimes flashing red screen....no sound at all....when I move the mouse to unlock the screen - the sound comes back briefly and the login window appears.

Flashing red border! (She can't hold it much longer, Captain!)

I did a very simple change to some code in my program and when I tried to run it, it got to the case structure where I did my little change and suddenly the border of that case started flashing red and blue.
Obviously this means something is wrong, but what? I'm a newbie and I've never seen this before. How can I pinpoint where my problem is? I put it into debug mode and I don't see where it's getting hung up. My code is obviously okay or I wouldn't be able to even start it.
Amateur programmer for over 10 years!

I mostly use highlighted execution, but it has it's limits..
For instance if you use a test executive like TestStand which calls a LabView vi, you may want to include a breakpoint to look at what is happening at that instance of the code. You can step into the vi, then use the highlighted execution to see all the values, etc.
If you have vi that need to run in "real-time" (transactions that are time-constrained), so you can't have "Highlighted" execution on all the time, you may want to freeze a certain portion and look at that. Breakpoints are very useful for this.
Experiment with it.. Who knows, you may like it as much as the highlighting the execution (which can be too slow at times).
Both are good tools.

Flashing red tape on DVD

I have a problem where there is a flashing red clip emblem in the middle of the frame for about two minutes at the start on a dvd. The clip is about 40 minutes total and I need to see if I can take this flashing emblem out. Since it is burned to the dvd and it is mpeg 2 is there anyway to take it out using final cut pro or some other program? I also have CatDV pro. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I assume this red emblem is over a live background, right?
If you were to try retouching this in Photoshop or even a proper rotoscoping application, that's around 3600 frames for two minutes. Multiply that by how many minutes you need for a single frame and factor in your hourly rate...
Not saying it can't be done, but who is going to pay for it and how much is your sanity worth?

Help! Curve 8300 not responding at all....flashing red LED.

My friend was trying to install a theme on my blackberry curve 8300 with her laptop and her blackberry manager. She was trying to sync when a message popped up saying it was deleting applications so she hit cancel and disconnected.
Since she disconnected the USB i have a black screen and flashing red LED. No response when I hit the power button. No response from taking the battery out, waiting, putting the battery back in. No response with ALT-SHIFT-DELETE.
Any help would be VERY much appreciated.

Error 507 simply means the device has no operating system on it.
Basically, you need to load an OS to the BB....
