Capital One has no record of application

I cold apped for Venture and Venture One last night within a few minutes. Both went to the 7-10 days status. Today I called the status check phone line and the automated status could not find any application with my social. When transferred to a reprsentative, she couldnt find any application matching my social, phone number, zip code or anything. Very weird. So I checked my reports and I see no pulls as well. My EX report is frozen but other two are open and I have seen folks getting instant approvals in such cases. Mostly just gonna wait it out and see what happens.  Preapproval never showed anything, but am chalking that up to EX being frozen. Anybody else ever seen such a thing?

Sorry for your aggravation.  But the best option you have is to go to the Verizon store in person.

  • Capital One Approval $100,000 :-)

Yes, no joke!  Approved for both Venture and Quicksilver - $50,000 each (12.9% APR on both). I began the process of purging/consolidating tradelines about 3-4 weeks ago which included closing the Beaver CC (R.I.P.), some older Comenity & SYNCB CCs and a few others that got some benefits stripped away and no longer fit my long-term strategy (~$50K of closed accounts).  My strategy also included the successful consolidation of 3 older Capital One CCs into one.  Thanks to baller4life for the Capital One thread and for her guidance, support and encouragement throughout the whole process ! So, I went ahead and applied for QS/Venture on 7/12, which yielded the 7-10 day message for each (no big deal if denied).  I did not call them and decided to wait it out.  On 7/16, the verifications department contacted me to finalize verification on both applications (no approval/denial at that point).  Since I had nothing to lose, why not?   On 7/17, I was notified both applications were approved.  I really had to ask the agent 2x if her screen information was correct since I never expected to be approved for both at such high SLs (I was assuming they may be tightening up)!  I received both letters on Saturday followed by email confirmations.  This resulted in only 1 HP per CR (EX and TU pulled on 7/12 and EQ on 7/16).  Scores above ~800. Do I recommend what I did for everyone to follow suit? Absolutely not! (Unless your overall profile, income, usage, etc. supports it!).  I'm only sharing my experience and hopefully this thread won't incite negative comments about Capital One   Overall and IME, Capital One has been a decent bank since I've never had any issues dating back to the late 90's.  Plus, these new cards will come in handy for my next overseas trips.

  • CitiBank Credit Card Nightmare - Please go back to Capital One

I am ready to cancel my best buy credit card.  On December 27, 2013, there was fraud on my account (I believe from the Target breach from black friday sales).  Anyways, there was fraud and my card was canceled.  However, I didn't find this out until 3 days later when my card wouldn't work anywhere between the 27th and 30th.  My card was canceled and I never received a text message, email, phone call, or letter.  NOTHING.  I wouldn't know unless I called to find out what was going on.  I asked if this was normal and they said yes - no communication.
Once I called them, they said they would issue me a new card (this wasn't automatically done).  They could not expedite it.  I did have to confirm everything that was fraudulent on the card.  Fortunately there was only 1 charge that posted and all other attempts were blocked.  Still, that one fraudulent charge has not been removed.  I have called multiple times and told different things about when that charge would be removed.  Now I'm told to wait 6 weeks for it to be removed.  That's six weeks from today, not from when the charge appeared.
Before the card was canceled, I scheduled an online payment for the due date.  I called them to confirm that the payment would still go through even though a new card was issued and I couldn't access all of my online account.  They told me not to worry, it will post.  The day after my due date I get an email saying my payment couldn't be processed and now I'm past due (with a late fee).  I called and made a new payment over the phone and was told due to their error, the late fee would be waived and I wouldn't see it in a couple days.  5 days later I finally get my new card in the mail, re-register my account online, and low and behold, the fee is there.  I call back and was told that the late fee removal was never processed.  I was told to wait 6 more weeks for the fraudulent charge to be removed (even though the charge took place in california, and I have account activity to prove I was in NY state at the same time, and they agreed).  They now say they will process the late fee reversal, but to wait 2 billing cycles.  As far as I'm concerned, that charge is them stealing from me because I should never have been charged that in the first place.
This experience with citibank is disgusting.  I have never had this kind of trouble with any credit card.  I have had fraud on my accounts in the past, and every time Capital One has been awesome to work with - they pick up fraud faster and better, they email/text/call you right away, and they have done what they say they will.  Sure, others may have different experiences, but when every single citi agent has let me down and most have lied to me, I'm very angry with them.  This is the last year I have elite membership with best buy.  If this isn't fixed in a week, the account is getting closed.  Are others having nightmares with Citibank?

    Hello darkprime,
Finding out that your credit card may have been used by someone other than yourself is a very scary thing. It sounds like Citibank has tried to keep your account safe by immediately cancelling your card, but I can understand your concern at not receiving a notification from them as soon as this occurred. I’m very sorry to read of how difficult it has been to resolve the various issues resulting from having your card cancelled.
As you’re probably aware, while Citibank is a valued partner, they are a completely separate company from Best Buy. Due to this, we do not have direct access to or influence over their accounts or policies. However, we truly appreciate your loyalty as an Elite Plus customer, and I would be happy to reach out to them on your behalf to look into this right away. Using the e-mail you registered on the forum, I was able to locate your information, and as soon as I have more details, I will be sending you a private message. • Capital one venture restriction

just started using the card, figured id put my everyday expenses on it gas grocerices pharmacy and today when i checked my accouts just to see what my tab was i noticed i had a account restriction on the new acct, i immediatly called in they verified my home phone, had me hang up and call back and verify my purchases, the whole process took maybe 5 min. and the restriction was immediatly lifted. whew!!! im imagining what if i was doing other things like on vacation major embarassing

Yeah, CAP 1 has been doing that for a while.  They do it mostly when your charge declines in the store also.  I was on edge once in a long line and the card decline at check out. When I called, they thought it was fraud and I had to hang up for them to call me back.Wow... this is surprising to hear.  In my case Capital One has never even flinched, even when they have the right to.  I've shopped at a grocery store at 2AM at a store hundreds of miles away from my billing address, and I actually expected to have to call them but it worked - just like it always does. I also recently made my an international purchase over the internet for the first time with my Capital One card; I chatted with them to let them know I was about to make the purchase, and the CSR acted confused as to why I was even bringing it up.  The int'l charge was approved, and I've used my card for small overseas purchases several times since then, all without calling and each time it's been approved. USAA, on the other hand... is a different story.  I really, really like them, but for better or worse, their security is a bit more tight.  Actually, my Capital One card is my go-to if there is ever an issue with my USAA account, since I'm usually not in the mood to call the bank when I'm at the register if I have another card I know will work.

  • Finally got a little love from Capital One

I was discharged from CH7 April 2014. Since then I have gotten a car loan thru Ally for $25k and was added as an AU on a CU credit card with a CL of $1k. I tried the pre-approval think for Captial One several times and only got the "we are unable to find a match" response. Once I did a full app and reconned it and got the letter that I had too many old outstanding debt things. CO was incluced in my CH7 but there was a zero balance on it. I finally got up the nerve to try their secured and got an approval with a $49 deposit. The website said to increase my deposit to get a higher limit so I did $100 for my deposit. Figuring my limit will be $350 or so and will add an additional depsoit each month to get it to a higher limit. Not sure now if that opens the door or what for better cards they offer. My scores right now bounce all over the place depending on which formula they use so it goes anywhere from 600 to 671 depending on which company does it and which report they pull from.

People seem to really get dramatically different results, but for me, capital one has really treated me well. i spend alot (4000-7000) per month on cap one and i have gone from 1 card at 3000 to 5 cards totaling 50,000 in less than 2 years. congrats! YMMV

  • Capital One Credit Steps increase plus a little EO help

I recently had my 6th statement cut on my QS1 Cap One card.  I was able to get an increase from 500 to 1500 after 3rd statement.  So the day after the 6th statement cut it increased again to 2000.  I was very happy with this but also wondered if there was any possibility of a little more available.  I have run close to 8000 through the card over the first 6 months.  I sent an email to the eo office, someone called me within about 2 hours and 3 days later I saw an additional 1000 to bring my new cl; to 3000.00.  Capital one has been amazing to me. Even when they have said no, it has been with such niceness that I can't help but smile and say oh well, Ill get it next time.

Congrats on your CLIs!!! Hopefully, next time you will earn a larger increase. Good luck!!!

  • Multiple users logged into one server, each users printer has a different name, application needs ONE name to print to.

Multiple users logged into one server, each users printer has a different name, application needs ONE name to print to.
I'm NOT in any way a Terminal Services expert and I need help trying to get an application program working in a multi-user environment.
The issue is that the printer changes for every user that is logged in. The application needs to print NOT to the default printer, but to a "special" printer which is selected in the application... let's call it a label printer to simplify the explanation.
You have your default regular printer, easy for the application to find that one, and then you have a special printer that labels get printed onto. The application needs to know what printer is the label printer. So we allow the user to select that in the
application and the selection is stored in a config file in
    C:\ProgramData\mfgr\prog\setting files
I don't have access to the application so I can't change how this works.
In the "regular" world, selecting the label printer driver to use should be per machine, NOT per user. When a new user logs into a machine, the physical printer doesn't go "poof" and a new printer suddenly appear. Same printer for all
    users.
Yet in terminal services, the physical machine is "merged" with the virtual machine on the server. And there can be many users logged in at the same time. So each users real machine (and real printer) is injected into the "fake" terminal
services machine. The name of the printers is made unique for each user. So the printers DO go "poof" and change names depending on the user logged into terminal services.
So user "A" logs in and sets up the application to print to "LabelPrinterForUserA" (or whatever the name of the printer happens to be), that setting is stored in the ProgramData subfolder, and all is well. Later, user "B" logs
in, and when they print, the application tries to print to "LabelPrinterForUserA" which doesn't exist for user B or is only accessible by user A. If user B re-configures, that breaks it for user A.
SOLUTION 1: The way that /should/ work (in my mind) is that you define one "generic" printer in Terminal Services... call it "Virtual Label printer" and when the user wants to print to it, the print job gets re-directed back to whatever
physical printer is actually connected to their local workstation. There is a map of virtual printer to actual printer depending on the current user. The application is told once to print to "Virtual Label Printer" for all users.
SOLUTION 2: Or... there should be some way to make the ProgramData sub folders separate per user. E.g. when user "A" tries to access:
    C:\ProgramData\mfgr\prog\setting files
    they actually get
    C:\UserData\UserA\AppData\mfgr\prog\setting files
    and user "B" gets
    C:\UserData\UserB\AppData\mfgr\prog\setting files
So the question I have is: Does either of those solutions exist hidden somewhere in the setup of terminal server? Or is there another way around this issue that I don't know?

I don't really have a "for sure" answer to this, but because people here can't seem to deal with a question that hasn't been answered I'll provide the best answer I did receive from ServerFault.com user Nathan:
I can feel your pain with using old software on terminal servers ...the solution I've come up with definitely won't scale as it requires some manual configuration, but I've gotten this method to work with our label printers (which require to be
printed to an LPT port...yep, that old).
Share your USB-connected printers to the network on each machine. Then, have the user log in on aunique session for each of them
(a TS account cannot be shared among computers for this to work) and install a network printer pointing to the USB one they shared. Try to use a DNS name to account for possible DHCP movements.
After, it should work. Each user can do this since display names can be identical as long as the ports are different (which they are).
This was clarified by the following series of comments:
I think you are on to something here, and I originally advised the admin to do this. The problem he ran into is that it setup the printer names in the TS as "printer on usersworkstation"
and he could not rename it except to change the "printer" to whatever. E.g. the "on userworkstation" remained. I believe there is another way of installing the printer which avoids this, but I can't find it. Ages ago, one used to do NET
USE LPT2 \\computer\printer password /USER:domain\user /PERSISTENT:YES and then tell the driver to print to LPT2 –  James

@JamesNewton That's actually the exact method we used. The way around the "network printer" part is to install it as local printer and map it to a TCP/IP port that way. –  Nathan

You mean in the case where the printers are TCP/IP connected and not local USB / LPT to the users workstation? That makes sense. Wonder if this will work for USB connected printers... –  James

@JamesNewton You'd share the local printer on the client's PC then on the server connect via TCP/IP to it. You'd need static addresses or use DNS names if DHCP, though. –  Nathan

Ah. Yes. I see. Looks like the LPT thing should work even with a USB connected printer:superuser.com/questions/182655/… –  James

  • Challenging Personal Guaranty with Capital One

Hi,  new member here, although I've been reading on this board for over a year. I own a small C Corporation and have been settling my debt with numerous Credit Card companies.  I've actually settled 7 out of 8 in the last 1 1/2 years leaving only a Capital One Line of Credit. I hope to be able to settle this as well, but decided to dispute the validity of my supposed Personal Guaranty, as I know I never signed one.  So I sent a DV letter to them stating that I was only disputing the Personal Guaranty, that the Corporation does not dispute the validity of it's debt.  (They send 2 copies of all collection letters, one to me and one to the Corporation.) I received the following today.  "Acording to our rcords, we received your application by Phone/Internet on....."  So if they ever sue me, to prove that I am personally liable they may have a recording of the application, but no signed guaranty. Here's the important part that I don't understand.  "We have placed a disagreement code with a resolution of dispute on your credit file to the major credit reporting agencies." Any idea what this means in this context?  I have a subscription to Experian so will check to see what this does to my FICO score tomorrow and in the days to follow. Thanks so much for any help you can give me.  I love forums, am active on other ones, and knew eventually I'd have to post here as I'm trying to rebuild my credit.

Thanks Robert, that's what I was coming to believe after more research on the web and finding out, as you said, that a DV doesn't apply to an OC. They did send me a form letter asking if I disputed the validity, which is what I replied to.  My main concern now in this step is to determine what if any documentation they have of the guarantee.  The Internet/Phone comment at least indicates they don't have a signed one.   What do you think of sending a letter such as this that I found on the web?  I'd edit it of course.  edit:  I just realized this is from a Scottish website, so the references don't apply.  However what I'm wondering is if I should push it in some way to find out what if any documentation they have.  Should they not be able to document my liability I would think I could get it off of my report.    Dear Sir/Madam
    Account No:
You have contacted me regarding the account with the above reference number, which you claim I owe because of a signed personal guarantee.
I have no knowledge of signing a personal guarantee and dispute any personal liability for this debt.
I am familiar with the Consumer Credit sourcebook of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) which states the following.
"A firm must not ignore or disregard a customer's claim that a debt has been settled or is disputed and must not continue to make demands for payment without providing clear justification and/or evidence as to why the customer's claim is not valid." 7.5.3
"A firm must suspend any steps it takes or its agent takes in the recovery of a debt from a customer where the customer disputes the debt on valid grounds or what may be valid grounds." 7.14.1
"Where a customer disputes a debt on valid grounds or what may be valid grounds, the firm must investigate the dispute and provide details of the debt to the customer in a timely manner." 7.14.3
If you do not cease collection activity whilst investigating my dispute you are breaking the FCA’s rules and guidance.
Furthermore, ignoring and/or disregarding claims that debts have been settled or are disputed and continuing to make unjustified demands for payment amounts to harassment.
I ask that no further contact be made concerning the above accounts unless you can provide evidence of my liability for the debt in question, including a copy of any personal guarantee you claim I have signed.
I await your written confirmation that this matter is now closed. Otherwise I will have no option but to make a complaint to my local trading standards department and consider informing the FCA of your actions.
I look forward to hearing from you.
    Yours faithfully

  • Declined for Capital One 360 checking then Approved after Chexsystems frozen

Hey guys about 2 weeks ago I applied for a capital one 360 account but was denied because I have a mark on Chexsystems even though I read that Capitalone360 was no longer going to use chex systems....Any who I did some further research and saw some people had frozen their Chexsystems and had gotten approved for banks they had previously gotten denied by. Well I froze my Chexsystems and applied about a day later and.....I was immediately approved no questions asked and even received an email stating my debitcard would be mailed to me. My question is....Has anyone who has tried this trick had their bank account closed?

I just want to say (Mod Cut) thank you to the OP for leaving this here.  Unfortunately for me, this info was posted only days after I had begun my ferocious pusuit of several disputes (read: every single (Mod Cut) one available to consuners) against Chex based on their innacurate reporting of non-DDA acct. inquiries and subsequesnt scoring model deficiencies  which resulted in my app for CapOne 360 checking being denied as well as putting my currently open w/local CU checking/savings accounts in jeopardy of closure.  The company that was responsible for the inquiries in dispute ((Factor Trust)) received, processed, and resolved my dispute within 18 hours of my submission, and then, upon request via phone, immediately contacted Chex to have their erroneous inquiries removed, but Chex couldn't care (Mod Cut) about the urgency of my dilemma and infirmed me that their ETA for removal would be 30-45 days!  Sure glad I filed those complaints w/ the CFPB & FTC at the same time I faxed my dispute forms --- I'm gonna have a whole lot to say to those agencies when they follow up in the next few days. So here I was, feeling entirely helpless and abused by Chex and their and their Top Secret scoring model that somehow identifies me as someone whose much a too great a risk to be allowed to open a (second!)  checking acct, when I happen to stumble onto this post.  I won't lie -- I didn't think it would work, but zi fgured I had nothing to lose by trying so I placed the freeze on Monday night.  Fast forward to near midnight last night when I once more attempt to apply for 360 checking;  I absomlutely expected to be deniedm again - but, to my shock and amazement the application was completed and account opened within 3 minutes of logging on.  AND they offered me an overdraft protection loan w/out my having to ask!!! Thank you verhy much OP for posting this here...you just did for me in a minute of two what dozens of hour on the phone with half that many different agencies/companies coulfd not.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!

  • Capital One Venture Card approval proccess

So I helped my wife apply for the Cap One Venture card with the 40k bonus offer. The screen shot stated "You are approved"  you will receive your card in 7-10 days but  did not give any other info such as CL etc. When I applied for that same card I was immediately notified that I was approved and my liimit was 20k.  I contacted the 800 number and the recording said that the application was under review. I assume that is under review in regards to determining the initial CL and APR?  Any thoughts, experiences with applying for this card.

Congrats on both approvals!       In my wallet: Capital One (secured) 1917; Quicksilver 5000; Venture 15,000; Barclay Apple Rewards 2000; CareCredit 3300; Bank of America Platinum Visa 2000; Bank of America Travel Rewards 3500; Bank of America Travel Rewards 3500; Amazon Store Card 5000; Discover 10,000. Total Credit: 51,217.
    6/19-FICO: EQ - 782; TU - 769; EX - 681; GOAL: 780 across the board. Gardening until further notice.

  • 'Your system has run out of application memory'?!

I've seen many users experiencing this same problem throughout the community, but none of the fixes have given me a permanent solution. Details of the machine are below, as well as what happens when the problem hits/triggers.
MBP Retina running OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 (occurred in previous versions as well, thought the latest update would help but it didn't)
15-Inches Mid 2014 with 16 GB of Ram
Been using this Mac for good 6 months now, and one fine day of normal usage the whole system seems really laggy and slow and all of a sudden i'm unable to access anything and barely move my mouse. Then, a window pops out, telling me "Your system has run out of application memory", gracefully showing me that I have to force quit all my programmes for me to just stare at my desktop in utter disappointment.
I've been using Yosemite for awhile now (updated few days since the release) and haven't encountered any major issues, this being the first. Reading through many threads many have said that the problem lies with opening the Mail app, yet I haven't touched that app in months. I've also tried resetting the PRAM on my machine when it happens and the problem comes back again after several minutes of normal usage (iTunes, App Store). Checking the memory usage with the Memory Clean app, it tells me I'm down to a measly '15.58 MB' of memory, and it justfluctuates at that until I give it a restart again. This can't keep happening - I can barely use the Mac for 10 minutes without having to restart it, only to be able to use it only again for another 10 minutes.
Opening Activity Monitor tells me that mds_stores is the main root of the problem, yet I can't seem to shut the process down. I've googled and many say that mds_stores is spotlight indexing, but taking up all 16 GB of ram? That shouldn't be the case. Is there a fix to this? Does Apple know of its existence?
    Included some screenshots below:

    Step 1
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    syslog -F '$Time $Message' -k Sender mdworker -o -k Message Rne Norm -k Sender mds | tail | pbcopy
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing the key combination command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
The command may take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear.
The output of the command will be automatically copied to the Clipboard. If the command produced no output, the Clipboard will be empty. Paste into a reply to this message.
The Terminal window doesn't show the output. Please don't copy anything from there.
If any personal information appears in the output, anonymize before posting, but don’t remove the context.
    Step 2
Enter the following command as in Step 1 and post the output:
    mdutil -as 2>&- | pbcopy
    You can then quit Terminal.
    Step 3
Launch the Console application in the same way you launched Terminal. In the Console window, look under the heading DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION on the left for crash reports related to Spotlight. If you don't see that heading, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar. A Spotlight crash report has a name beginning in "mds" or "mdworker" and ending in ".crash". Select the most recent such report, if any, from the System and User subcategories and post the entire contents—the text, please, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post any other kind of diagnostic report, such as hang logs—they're very long and not helpful.

You'll need to get it all onto one iTunes collection on your Mac Pro, then sync the devices to that.  iTunes only lets you transfer purchases from a device, otherwise you have to use third party software.
I guess you could also look into getting iTunes Match.

  • Capital One Credit Line Consolidation LINK IS BACK UP!!!

Ok so I read last night on another site that combining limits is now available through CSR. So, I called to inquire. NOT YET. This is apparently a big thing currently at Capital One and according to person I spoke to, they are making big preparations for it. They had hoped it would be available by now. But are shooting for the next month or two. But definitely by end of year. You will see it online once it goes live and can do all your combining right there under your account. Pretty freaking awesome. So everybody hold on to all your Cap One cards for now.  UPDATE: Currently available online!! 7/8/15 UPDATE: Online link has been removed. Hopefully to fix any bugs. 7/17/15 UPDATE: Link is back up folks!

  • Capital One Logic...

I currently have 2 Capital One accounts.  One has a 2k limit and one has a 4.5K limit, both are QS1 cards.  I've tried over and over to get CLI's on the cards, but was unsuccessful.  I attempted to apply for a new card today (with hopes of card consolidation later on) and was approved for a 10k VISA Signature QS.  I dont understand how they refuse to raise my CL on existing cards (one I've had for 5 years) but they will give me a 3rd card at 10k.  While I dont understand it I wont complain because its pretty awesome especially since I'll be able to combine the limits to the VISA Siggy and be at 16.5K QS!!  Kinda pumped right now

The group that gives CLI's has a goal of protecting the companies money, yet still earn money, if you are currently a customer and in good standing they have accomplished their job. The card division has a job of increasing the number of customers and cards held so they want to impress you with a high starting limit so you will happy and use the card and be a happy customer. Of course after a few months you will transfered to the CLI unfreindly group...
