Captivate 3 - What I record isn't always reflected accurately in the play back.

I have been attempting to use Adobe Captivate 3 to record short video tutorials. Everything seems very straight forward until I play back my slides. I then find that what I thought I had recorded isn't reflected in the slides. For example, I may have selected an 'OK' button low down on the page. In play back the mouse doesn't reach the OK button but appears to click half way down a page. There must be something simple that I am doing wrong but I don't know what it is. I just want to be able to set up Captivate to record and play back exactly what I'm doing on the screen. I don't want to have to go through every slide readjusting things. I'm sure it is some simple set up error that I'm making. Can someone advise me please?

Could you explain how you did the capture: Full Motion Recording, Automatically (demonstration or simulation). I'd recommend the last one, but try to be a bit slower when performing actions, listen for the clicks that indicate that this has been captured. You can also force manually extra slides by using the PrintScreen key. You can also do the whole capture manually, if you want to.

the movie editing app "Avid Studio" displays a time counter, as does the Pinnacle editing app. Oddly enough, I movie does not. (unless I have it somehow turned off.)

Captivate 8, Publish, Project Title isn't remembered if it is the same as file name

Example:
Publish a Captivate 8 project and change the Project Title to 'Test'
Save the project as 'FinalTest'
Publish the project again and change the Project Title to 'FinalTest' (It should be remember 'Test' from before)
Publish the project again and notice the Project Title is still 'Test'
Workaround
Save the project temporarily as something else
Publish the project as 'FinalTest'
Save the project as 'FinalTest'

I am having the same issue and it is particularly frustrating when you are continuously publishing for testing. I tried to follow the workaround but still could not get the project title to stick in the 'Publish to My Computer' dialog box.

My pictures and events in iphoto are not showing but are represented by a dotted outline. What did I do and how can I get the images back?

I have a couple thousand pictures in iphoto divided into several folders. While working with them the images disappeared and are only represented by dotted outlines where the picture was. Events are also represented this way. When the cursor is run across them the photo will appear briefly, but will not pull up. I am not able to view them for long. What is causing this and how do I fix it?
Any ideas?

Going forward when you have iPhoto problems you will probably get a faster response by posting in the iPhoto forum. I would recommend Rebuilding the iPhoto library.

You will want to export Projects, Models, scenarios and logs.

HT204135 My printer always defaults to "Scale = 150%" and prints oversized. I always have to set the scale back to "100%". Is there any way to change this default setting?

My osX Lion loaded iMac always prints with a default "scale" of "150%" and consequently won't print anything on a single page. I always have to go into "Printer Settings" and change it to "100%" to print properly. Is there any way to set this up to default at "100%"?

Hi, just a note that might help. I notice in baltwo's screen shot of the print dialog, that the Preset titled "Plain paper, best" is selected.
anderdan33316, if you have selected a preset, and that preset was created with the "Scale" set to "150%". I suspect your issue is related to this.
for a possible solution,
1. in Safari, open the Print dialog (by cmd-p, or choosing "Print..." from the File menu, either way works).
2. in the dialog, manually set the Scale to 100%
3. in the "Presets:" pull-down menu, select "Save Current Settings as Preset..."
4. enter a label that is meaningful to you, such as "Standard", "Basic", "Default" - it can be modified later
5. print that page from that dialog, and the customized Preset will be one of your choices until you decide to delete it.

but what exactly is a record group.
is it an item, a record or a lov or what?

You can think of record groups as in memory arrays. They can be an Item in your form - look at the object navigator and you'll see the record group node. But they can also be created dynamically at runtime.

Recorded show not always playing back. New 2013 thread to ongoing problem

We have two Motorola QIP7232 2 DVR/Receivers. Since we got them back in March of 2012 we have had sporadic issues where programs that show to be recorded (30 minutes, 60 minutes, etc), won't play back. The DVR simply reverts back to live TV as if we've canceled the playback. One receiver was replaced in April 2012 but the problem still continues off and on to as recently as of this post.
This happens on BOTH receives. Neither receiver is even near capacity. Maybe 20% at the most at any time. Since we've had a receiver replaced - and it continues to happen on both DVRs - and there's another three year old thread full of the same complaint, I can only assume it's either defected equipment or defected service.
Verizon? Any answers?

I have had the same problem on the Cisco 435hdc box and an external dvr for months. Fios tech just had me run the autofix which I had already tried and this didn't help. It happens randomly and is very annoying. It also happens when I record a show and want to watch it from the beginning while it is still recording it. It does not allow me to watch from the beginning of the recording it only goes back about 30 minutes.

I had restored my son's ipod because the software update option was not available and I wasn't able to update from version 4.3.3. I had hit restoration which cleared and allowed the update to 6.0 however my itunes still seems to have an issue. It always freezes up during the sinking/backing that takes place in the beginning. It then freezes and I reboot and does the same thing all over again. My son installed a game from his ipod but we can't do anything from itunes?

Try temporarily disabling your firewall and antivirus software and try again...

How do I get Captivate 8 (MAC) to record keystrokes?

I am trying to do the following and am very confused...I thought Captivate records keystrokes and then let's users try out what is recorded.
For example, I am trying to record a log in screen. I record my screen where I type in my username and password. When I play it back, it does not show the text typing but rather it suddenly appears.
Then I want the user to practice, but when I record for an assessment, again, it does not create boxes for users to type in the information. Is there a tutorial that shows me how to make this happen?

I looked for drivers for my superdrive but they don't appear to be available from the manufacturer (Sony). Fortunately I was able to load the contents of the installation disk onto the mac side of my computer and transfer it onto the windows side where I could install it. So I am fine for now but it would be nice to have a functioning optical drive on my windows side if possible.
The superdrive is internal. I downloaded the bootcamp support files from bootcamp assistant right before installing windows so I assume if a driver exists it would have been installed.
