Captivate 8 scalable content max height/width

Hello,
I'm using Captivate 8 and using the scalable settings, however I only want the screen to downscale from set screen size as when the screen is enlarged past it's original size everything gets really blurry. Is there anyway to set a maximum height or width within captivate or by changing the code in css/js/html files?

I ran across thesame issue, I'm using Cp6, and found the solution in modifying /assets/js/CPLibrary.js file in following way:
Line 23528 there is following function:
function SetScaleAndPosition()
Line 23576 there is following condition:

cp.log(cp.shouldScale);
Prior to that condition from line 23576, I placed this code:
if( (cp.movie.m_scaleFactor >= 1.0))
return true;
This limits scaling to 100% only, or lower.
However, when using scalable html5 content in Cp6, I encountered problems with smart shapes buttons (they do not work), so, if what is above works for You, I would appreciate, if You could inform me, if, in Cp8, there is no problem with smart shapes buttons when using scalable html5, thanks in advance.

Why no min/max height?

Since I've started creating responsive content with Edge, once thing has really bugged me - and that's the omission of a Min H and Max H alongside Min W and Max W. I've been told it's not necessary as height can be constrained to width, but I still find myself needing it.
Two scenarios I've frequently come across:
• An object is set to 100% width. When a window is resized to a landscape orientation, I want an object's maximum width dictated by it's height to prevent it taking up too much space in the layout. For example, in portrait layout it may be W100%, H10% - turn that to landscape and it might become W100%, H60% if I've constrained the proportions. I want to be able to cap it at say H30%, so after a certain point it's just the width that changes and not the height.
• I have a series of square images nested within a horizontal scrollable div. I want these images to stay in proportion but always fill to H100% of the container div, regardless of its shape (portrait, landscape). It seems to simple but I just can't make it work without a min/max H functionality.
Can anyone explain why this feature is missing?

As you know, IE doesn't support min/max-height/width.
With regard to HEIGHT, you can work around IE's lack of support for min-height since the way that IE deals with an explicit height is as if it were min-height. For example, if you have this CSS:
#foo { min-height:250px; }
you can *hack* a fix for IE like this -
#foo {
     min-height:250px;
     _height:250px;
The "_height" style is ignored by all browsers except IE<8. For those versions of IE that 'read' that style, they interpret it as 'height' and since IE treats an explicit height value as if it were 'min-height' you are set. Another way (and a cleaner way in my opinion) would be to add an IE conditional comment to the page, e.g.,

That takes care of min-height.
The solutions for max-height or min/max-width are not so simple. Google for IE CSS calculations to see how you might approach them.

          This is Vijay.I'm new baby to Indesign Script.In my office i took one task for indesign, that's i link one image to picture box that image jump from original position.so i copy that picture box and paste in place to new layer and now link the Eps to that box. againg jump that image. actually (manualy) i copy height,width , center X and Y coordinates from old picture box image and Paste in to newly link image. then link image was perfectly sit in position. any one do for Script or any one help me how to do this..Script.

Is there any way to get the height/width of an image before importing it in the indesign document.

I need to obtain an image's attributes such as dimensions (height, width in pixels) without placing image in indesign document.
I have full path of the image (say abc.jpg is stored at c:\my pic\abc.jpg).
I have obtained the IDFile for this image, tried getting size using GetFileSize() which correctly return size in bytes.
Is there any way to get the height/width of image without importing it in the indesign document.
Please, give me some hints. I have spent quite a lot time digging in CHM. I have searched in FileUtils, IDFile API's but found no method which serves this purpose.
At this point I am clueless where to search next.
Any help will be appriciated.
Just a point to mention, I am able to get image height and width for an image in indesign doc though Its not my requirement.

You might be able to examine the contents of the PlaceGun after calling kImportAndLoadPlaceGunCmdBoss without actually placing the image in a document. Not sure, but would be worth looking at.
Otherwise you will probably have to write platform specific code, ideally with a generic platform-independant wrapper (see SDKSamples/paneltreeview/PlatformFileSystemIterator).
For the Mac, look at CGImageGetWidth() etc., not sure what the best option is for windows.
Perhaps Quicktime could provide you with a platform independant solution.

Problem with automated height/width after applying effect

Hey guys,
I have a panel that automatically resizes after some other contents is being added. All the time there is a scale-effect. Whenever I move the mouse over any of those children they zoom in and there the height & width of the parent container automatically resizes.
However I have a minimize button for that one along with a resize effect. I can resize the complete container to a minimize size (e.g. 40x40), but when I resize back with the same effect, the panel does not automatically resizes with added children anymore.
I did not set any special properties on the panel from the beginning, but some property must be different now. It is not "autoLayout" and also the "percentageWidth/Height" does not work properly as that command will cause the panel to stretch over the complete stage. Any suggestions here?

Mmmh...that does not seem to solve the issue for me. Even when setting the width and height to NaN before the effect is played, it will still lead to a fixed height and width of the parent panel container. When I add new children the parent container is not properly resized, means that the chiildren just go beyond the parent container's border.

I have recently discovered an issue with scanning. I have tried scanning straight from the printer, through image capture, and through preview. All yeilding the same results since they are essentailly kicking off the same scanning applet. I can scan a jpeg formatted file as long as I applet is in the "Hide Details" mode. If I click on the "Show Details" button, which I need to do to scan to PDF, I immediately receive an error stating: The image size is too big. Please reduce the image height, width, resolution, scaling or output type.
I'm currently using an HP C5180 printer.   The most recently installed software was Adobe Digital Editions (I installed this to read an on-line e-book). Not sure if there is any correlation.    Thanks for any help.

The scanner works with a Windows computer, which proves the device is functional at a cursory level. The drivers are now distributed by Apple and this is an Apple computer. There is no scanning software provided by HP. HP's answer is that Mountain Lion takes care of all of this. I anticipate that some setting or driver was somehow tweaked since the scanner had been working with Mountain Lion until a few days ago. The device in question is an Apple product. So, I'm pretty confident that I'm in the right place.

Why can't firefox deal with percent max-height of percent max-height?

I think this is possibly a bug.

Yes it does. If you for example add background-color: yellow; to the stlyle you will see that the page turn yellow:

If the styles doen't get applied as expected it is a browser issue. The WebBrowser control emulates Internet Explorer in IE7 rendering mode by default. You will have to change some registry settings to change this behaviour. Please refer to the following

Changing scaleX/scaleY on parent scales the children but doesn't update height/width property ?

have created a custom component - MyImage - that has two children including a Bitmap as well as a Sprite.
My display object hierarchy is as follows -

If I change the MyImage.scaleX, scaleY property, the children scale as I would expect them to.
However when I try to place the children in the center using placeAgain() on getting a resize event:

I find the image.height & width have not changed despite the image getting scaled!
Isn't the child supposed to have its bounds changed after scaling its
parent ? Especially after the child has actually been scaled correctly ?
Why are bounds of the child stuck at the same value as before scaling? I
am not caching the Bitmap, have not turned on caching of bitmaps.

If I'm not mistaken, the bounds are updated with the scale. You rare not referencing the bounds, your referencing the width and height properties, which is a bit different. What happens if you use the getBounds function to get your dimensions?

Setting max-height with contain for bg image

Hi , I currently have a simple image that I want to sit in the top right corner, however I would like it to scale so the whole image fills the right hand of the viewport (only if they make the viewport smaller than the original image though). The contain function does this job however it also scales the image upwards should the user go full browser which looks horrible. So my question is can I use ( background-size: contain;) but add a max-height line to it also. I have tried every combination possible but nothing. Im either doing something wrong or it cant be done.

You can't add a max-height to the existing rule, but you could use a media query to change the value of background-size like this:

Patience running thin. max HEIGHT after I publish to bizcat.

what a piece of garbage. this is only reason i joined creative cloud. I have a site in progress and when i publish it to view in on business catalyst, the resulting site seems to have a max height, cutting off everything below 600px. All else is working fine on other sites where site properties, footer, header, etc are in common.
Can I upload my files for staff member to view and let me know what’s going on.
It is a cross browser problem. it works in preview mode, but after it is published there is something lost, or added in translation.

Obviosly this is a much larger problem than i had anticipated, which allows me to conclude that muse is the problem and not bizcatalyst.
An accurate preview comes when i "Preview" the page within muse, as well as when i "Preview in Browser (all browsers)." Fail seems to come upon uploading to 3rd party FTP. I'm not sure if it is worth exporting the muse file then uploading it to godaddy but i'll give it a shot. Time is of the essence may be an overstatement, but it is surely an unexpected distraction, and hopefully a problem with a solution, and to be even more optimistic, a problem on my part so I can be sure to avoid it later under my own control rather than crossing my fingers in hopes that a muse bug may falter my efforts of the 99% of my work which went into the site pre-publishing.

Update on Captivate HTML 5 content playback issue in Google Chrome Browser

Good night,
I am having a problem implementing projects generated in html5 and run on Chrome. The video does not run.
I think I found the solution, a correction patch for Captivate 7. But I just link and is broken.

Limiting content-list height of choicebox

I want to limit the list-height of the choicebox for example to select an year from the choice box the list-height goes beyond the screen so how to limit the content-list height of the choice box??

here is what i got with Button and ListView, Button does not look as i wanted but it satisfies my needs so i will change button to label later.
You can found sources in git : https://github.com/jojorabbit/DeckControl under folder ListComboBoxTest.
Narayan I think that ListView does not need ScrollPane, in 1.3 there were ScrollBars in ListView i did not need to wrap it into ScrollPane. Not 100% sure how it is in 2.0

Charting using ActionScript and chart height,width and axis labels

hello, i am creating charts using action script but can't
seem to do 2 things right now. 1. put labels on the axisis. 2. i
can't set the height/width to 100%. does anyone know how?...below
is the function i use to create the charts
