Captivate Email results

I use email for my quiz results, b/c I don't have a LMS. I'm
trying to get the answers the users chose, just not their score so
I go into Quiz Preferences and in Reporting, Reporting Level I have
chosen Interactions and Score, but my emails only have the core
data and not the interaction data. I see that a lot of people are
experiencing the same bug, (which I did report also), but did
anyone figure out a way to get around this problem? Do I have to
make sure something is/isn't clicked to have this work?

Hi, and welcome! Glad to see you as a new active user of the
Captivate Community!!
The unpredictable behavior of using "Email" as the results
vehicle for scoring is as old - no older than - Captivate itself.
It goes back to the days of "RoboDemo" the predecessor of
Captivate.
There is no advice anyone can give you. But if you would like
to support further development of the Email function, you can
indicate your interest on the Feature Request (and bug report)
Form.
Click
this link to go there now
. The more people who indicate interest in a new or better
feature, the more emphasis the Development Team will place on that
request.

  • Email results doesn't work

I'm using Captivate to deliver a quiz and have set up the
quiz to email results. Occasionally - rarely, would be a better
word - it works. However, most of the time I just hear clicks and
    the email never comes up.
I'm running Flash 8 in IE (the global security settings trick
from a previous thread didn't do anything) and the quiz is also
running inside a frameset. Recommendations? Workarounds? I've got a
    client waiting...

    KindaMMG,
I had a similar problem with the mailto: not working.
    Running on Xp Pro
    Outlook 2003
Traced problem to the registry setting for email client.
Changed the setting for the email client to show
    ....outlook.exe" /mail "%1"
    The email link then worked.
further detail is at this link -

  • Emailing results of a SQL Query....

I am new to Oracle and was wondering if there is a way to create an email task that could be used to email results of a sql query. My query returns emails addresses that meet a specified criteria. I want to use an email task that takes these addresses as variables and sends out an email to the specified email address.
Anyone provide any help with how I might do this?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
The odiSqlUnload has a "select" command. Is possible, at your process, work with the "LPAD()" and/or "RPAD()" function to complete the necessary whitespace at each column?
To the column heading I suggest you use the "union" like: (I put the lpad and rpad fuctions as example...)
    select col1, col2, col3
    from(
    select 1 as internal_order, 'header_col1' as col1, 'header_col2' as col2, 'header_col3' as col3
    from dual
    UNION
    select 2 as internal_order, RPAD(col1, 10, ' ') as col1 , LPAD(col2, 50, ' ') as col2 , col3
    from your_table)
    order by internal_order
Do you think this will work for you?

  • Captivate Quiz Results Analyzer - Error in Results

    Dear Sir
I  don't understand why I got the results below. All questions were reflected as 'Total Skipped' when all was answered.
Your inputs would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks & regards...

So I figured out I made a stuipd mistake and mixed up acrobat.com and adobe.com. I kept trying to connect to Adobe.com, NOT acrobat.com.
Once I connect to Acrobat.com (and made an ID) it worked.
I now can connect to Acrobat.com.
However, I still am unable to see my results.
If I try to do a quiz from my local machine I am prompted with the "Post Results" button at the end.  When I go to production I do not want to have this button, I would rather have the quiz automatically posted.  For now, this will work for the testing phase I have working on.
When I run my quiz in IE, IE hangs when I press Post Results and put my name and password in.  It never completes.  I have to kill the process.
When I run the quiz from File > Preview > In Web Browser (or F12) it seems to work.  I get prompted with my ID I put my info in and it says it has been posted, but I never see any results.  This is similar to another post I saw here...
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/766837?tstart=0
Then I saw another post that said you need to modify the flash settings on the machine where you are posting.  You can do this via a URL link...
    http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.htm l
When I went to this link the first time I only specified the actually acrobat.com.  This didn't seem to help.  But them I specified the actually .swf file.  This made things appear to work.  I *was* able to press post, put login info in and then submit the info.  This worked without having the do the preview from within Captivate.  But I still do not have any data within the Adobe Captivate Quiz Results Analyzer.
If I do get some results somehow, I would still like to make the quiz such that the username and password are not prompted at the end and that the results are sent to acrobat.com automatically.

  • Error when posting captivate quiz results

I would like to posting Captivate quiz results to Acrobat.com. I created an account, but when I click Post Results and log in, I get a 'Send' button option. When I select 'Send', the message 'Unknown Error' appears and the results do not get posted.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

I am also still having the same problem, so it looks like this still hasn't been fixed.
Posting results worked fine but lately everyone is getting the unknown error which is embarrassing when you are pushing directors to complete this only to be told it isn't working and wasted their time.
    Sort it out Adobe!

  • Generate Report Troubles with Adobe Captivate Quiz Results Analyzer

I'm new to Captivate 5 and am trying to utilize the Adobe Captivate Quiz Results Analyzer.
I've enabled report for my project to Acrobat.com and configured as instructed in the online help.  The Post Result button appears on the Summary page and appears to work for the two colleagues taking the quiz.  But when I click the Generate Report button in Adobe Captivate Quiz Results Analyzer, I get the message "Data is not present on local file system, downloading course data," but nothing occurs - no course data appears from the colleagues who are helping me test the quiz.
I'm able to sign in to the Quiz Results Analyzer and it does display the organization, department and course name, but no course data (see image below).
What am I doing incorrectly that keeps this from generating a course report?
Any help will be deeply appreciated.

    Vish,
Your solution worked at first.  I went in, took the course, and then went into Analyzer and was able to Generate Report and look at my stats.  However, I had a colleague take the course.  She did and posted the results and received a "successful" posting message.  Then, I went back into Analyzer and clicked the Generate Report button to see how the system worked when there was new learner data.  A "Checking for new data" played for a half hour before I finally gave up.
I know that you were able to reproduce this issue where in clicking the Generate Report a second time brings up the loading animation that stays forever and that you were investigating the issue, but I thought I should post here just in case anyone else has a solution.
    Thanks,
    Jeff

  • Identifying Questions in Adobe Captivate Quiz Results Analyser

    Hi All,
We have seen people requesting for identifying the Question from with in Adobe Captivate Quiz Results Analyser. In what way do you think Question needs to be reperesented within Adobe Captivate Quiz Results Analyser?
Will it useful if we show the actual thumbnail of the question itself?
Or just showing the Question text will suffice?
    Thanks,
    Vikram

Maybe you'd be better off turning off the shuffling of answers (given that it fouls up the reliability of the variable representing what you want) and use Question Pools instead.
This would allow you to get some randomisation of the questions (which is what the answer shuffling is sort of trying to accomplish) but you'd be tracking actual questions.  You could have a number of variations of the same question in the pool.
Does that get you any closer to your goal?

  • Adobe Captivate Quiz Results Analyzer not generating results

I am using Acrobat.com to track my quiz results. I currently have 26 modules, however 5 of them will not show results in the Adobe Captivate Quiz Results Analyzer. I have tried the quizzes myself and posted the results, however it is still not showing results for the 5 courses. Any suggestions as to why 5 of the courses aren't generating?

    Hello,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums.
Do you have 26 different projects ?
Which version of Captivate are you using ?
Do you have MAC or Windows ?
Any Error message while generating results for those 5 courses ?
    Thanks,
    Vikram

  • Job Posting: Captivate Quiz Results

I need someone to program the capturing and querying of Adobe
    Captivate quiz results. Any takers?
    -Clay

    Hi hpelican,
I'm not aware of any issues on Acrobat.com that would prevent you from saving your Captivate quiz results. But, I found this thread on the Captivate forum. Please give that a try and let me know how it goes.
    Best,

  • Can Captivate Scorm results be saved locally

Can Captivate Scorm results be saved locally for later upload to an LMS? For example, is it possible to download a Captivate course on a mobile device. Allow the course to be completed offline and store the results. Then later connect online with an LMS and upload the saved results.

"download a Captivate course on a mobile device"
So then it would be an App, right?
There's no way to do that yet. SCORM requires a live connection to the presenting HTML page, it doesn't allow for offline tracking.
    The TinCan spec:
    http://scorm.com/tincanoverview/
Will allow for this type of offline communication. I assume Adobe/Captivate will support it at some point, but its a new spec and such support is still evolving...and the support has to be between the Captivate lesson AND the LMS (or 'LRS') the lesson is reporting to.
For now, the only option for you to have a web-based CP lesson track to an LMS is to have both components be mobile-compatible for launching with a live net connection. Both exist - mobile-compatible LMS products and CP publishing to HTML (with some limitations), so that would be the approach to tackle for now if such tracking is critical.

  • Email Results in Captivate 7

How do I email the results depending on pass or fail?  Is there any way to get a more detailed analytics in terms of which questions were passed or failed?
Right now i have selected "on pass" and "on fail" to send the results but that doesn't seem to be working....

Has anybody been able to achieve any kind of reporting of statistics from Captivate content that is consumed in an article of a DPS.
Using Captivate 7, indesign cc to overlay the index.html file from Captivate.  The widget above works great but it has to be viewed in a browser...
a possible workaround would be to upload the actual html5 files and then just have the overlay show the actual web page but wondering if anyone has been able to get stats from in the app...

  • Identifying Which Quiz in Emailed Results

I have quiz results for multiple elearning modules all going
to the same email address. When I look at the results, I cannot
tell which module the person actually took. It just looks like
    this:
    Core Data
    "Status","Location","Raw Score","Max Score","Min
    Score","Time"
    "passed","12","100","100","0","00:09:19"
Is there something I can do to make the quiz results I get
identify the module they are originating from?
    TIA,

In my group, our published filenames reflect the tutorial,
module and lesson information (via the "Project Title" field in the
Publish dialog). We use this to uniquely identify each lesson when
    the user takes it.
For brevity, we use an abbreviation for the tutorial name,
followed by the module and lesson number, and the full text lesson
name, as in "msoffice_0402_creating_a_template". Note that we do
not use spaces as these are problematic when used in file/folder
    names on the web.
You can leverage this idea to automatically include the
published file name in the e-mailed results.
Modify your sendMail() function in the appropriate e-mail
template file in the C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate
3\Templates\Publish folder as shown below. After republishing, it
*should* include the filename in the body of the e-mail.
I say *should*, since Captivate being the unreliable beastie
that it is, your mileage may vary.
As far as securing the results, there are scores of posts in
these forums that mention methods for doing so. They all revolve
around 2 basic concepts, which both involve creating a server-side
mechanism that intercepts the results and passes them on to a
server-side reporting solution of your own design. If creating a
web application isn't your bag, then the built-in reporting
options, warts and all, are going to be your only option.

    John

  • Automate Captivate Email Output

Is there any way to avoid having to use the Send Email button
when submitting quiz results from Captivate via email? I would like
to have this process automated if possible. I tried pulling the cp
file in Flash but I didn't have any luck editing the email output
    there.
    Thanks,
    Paul

I don't think this can be achieved as a macro has to manually
started, as you do now, or something has to trigger it. Normally
that will be opening any file or a specific file. You clearly do
not want the macro to run when you open any Word file so a macro
has to exist within the Word file containing the RH output. Clearly
that cannot exist so I cannot see any way of doing what you want.
The best Word forum I know of is at www.wopr.com and click
the link to Woody's Lounge. If you explain you want a macro to
autorun on completion of a document being created by another
application, you might find one of the gurus there has an idea.
They are a very helpful and very clever bunch of guys.

  • Cp survey to email results

    Good morning!
I have created a short survey in Cp and want to publish,
place on server, email link to survey and have users survey results
emailed to me. Can I do that? I am finding that all options to
"email" only open an email to designated address and do not attach
    or include survey results.
    Help!
    ;) Thanks, Janelle

    Hi Janelle
I hate to burst your bubble here, but you should be aware
that this isn't easy with Captivate. If it were, Adobe wouldn't be
using a service like SurveyMonkey for its own surveys!
Don't get me wrong here. Captivate is totally awesome and
rocks for what it does. Unfortunately, surveys aren't one of its
    strong points.
If that is your goal, to create and easily distribute
surveys, I would suggest using something like SurveyMonkey. The
    link is below.
