Castor beans white space issue...

So I have this code that mmimmicks my java objects for some classes I have that was built based off of a schema using castor. This code exports some data from a database to a .xml file just beautifully, but importing it (Reading back in the straight up xml) is another story...
imagine I have a xml file that contains some members that act as names for their java object brothers:
<xmlWasJavaObjectHere>
<xmlSimpleName>AIRBORNE/STATIC LINE</xmlSimpleName>
</xmlWasJavaObjectHere>
now imagine the xml file repeating a ton of such objects(after all it was exported from a database that was essentially an array of such objects). So we have:
...some other object names here...
<xmlWasJavaObjectHere>
<xmlSimpleName>AIRBORNE/STATIC LINE</xmlSimpleName>
</xmlWasJavaObjectHere>
<xmlWasJavaObjectHere>
<xmlSimpleName>AIRBORNE/STATIC LINE</xmlSimpleName>
</xmlWasJavaObjectHere>
<xmlWasJavaObjectHere>
<xmlSimpleName>AIRBORNE/STATIC LINE</xmlSimpleName>
</xmlWasJavaObjectHere>
<xmlWasJavaObjectHere>
<xmlSimpleName>AIRBORNE/STATIC LINE</xmlSimpleName>
</xmlWasJavaObjectHere>
...some more objects here with different names.
So now this exports just like this, just fine. The problem is when I read back in the data using the castor bean unmarshaller, it reads into the member as such:
myXMLObj.getSimpleName(); returns
AIRBORNE/STATIC LINE
AIRBORNE/STATIC LINE
AIRBORNE/STATIC LINE
AIRBORNE/STATICLINE
AIRBORNE/STATICLINE
AIRBORNE/STATICLINE
So it returns it right for the first few instanceus of it from the xml then it misses a white space(obviously this breaks importing this back into the database.) I am no xml/java/castor guru but I cannot figure out why it decides to loose white space (id say it does this randomly, but it starts doing it on the same index (item count whatever) every single time. And its the same name,does anyone have any ideas? Im pulling my hair out. Perhaps my naming scheme in the xsd was big depature from what it should of been. (Cause i had other issues working with XMLBeans and web services on naming some complexTypes (or was it elements?) with a upper case, when it should be lower case (and the name was getting mangaled).
oh well thats all I have im totally out of ideasm, so perhaps people have seen this before and confirm its some wierd quirk of using castor beans to load in xml data back to our objects (and i Did double check, the white space is missing in the actual xml object hta tis populated with an unmarshall.), any help will be appreciated. Thanks,
Shane
thanks in advance,
Shane

Hm, well 2 possible ideas:
1. There is a line of code in the middle of your tabbed panels that shouldn't be there.  It reads at follows
<!-- BEGIN: Constant Contact Bubble Opt-in Email List Form --> <div align="center"></div>
<!-- END: SafeSubscribe -->
2. In this code, do you need the clear:both?
<div style="clear:both; font-size: 18px; color: #0055A6; font-weight: bold;">

  • Extra White Space issue

    Hi, I am currently building a website in Adobe Muse, and am really enjoying it.  I have encountered a few differences between what I designed and what the site actually looks like and have been able to find solutions to all but one.  The home page has just a header and footer and an Adobe Edge Animation.  However, there is extra white space apearing underneath the animation (above the footer). Everything looks fine in the design mode, but even in preview there is extra space.  I tried uploading it to our ftp, thinking that might be the issue (as the animation doesn't show in the preview mode), but the extra space is still there.  I tried moving the Social media icons, thinking they might be causing it.  I have looked to see if maybe there is a text box, or empty shape that is causing the discrepency, but I can't find anything.  Any suggestions?
    Here is the screen capture of the design mode:
    Here is the screen capture of it in the browser:
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Razorcs,
    I have checked your file and the white space is coming from the page that you are calling in the iframe. I have seen that most browsers do not respond well, when the widht and the height of the iframe is specified in percent.
    As a fix you have to give manual width and height to the iframe and that should take care of it.
    For example, try something like 412px, which is the height of the edge content,

  • White space issues between content and footer.

    I am having white space/page length issue between the end of my content and the footer.
    I have read the forums and tried changing the page length minium height to 800 and then I
    unchecked the sticky footer in page properties on both the master page and the content page itself.
    Here's a link to one of my pages.  http://www.ueonline.com/rohs-info.html
    This page has very little content and you can see the white space.
    Any help is appreciated.

    This may be a little dated for a reply, and I'm not 100% sure your issue is the same as mine, but I discovered that unchecking the sticky footer option in site properties solved the problem. I should note that the website I was building for a client was über simple, and while disabling that function solved the headache in my own project, it may incur unwanted results in others, depending on the complexity.

  • White spaces issue when applet is launched from Browser

    I am trying to open HTML file (generated by net beans) to launch applet using window.open function.
    The applet is launching fine but white spaces are coming on top and left side of the applet.
    Any idea on how to remove these white spaces?

    You need a custom html template and to set the application size parameters to 100% width and height.
    Not sure if this is possible using the NetBeans JavaFX project configuration options currently.
    Have a look at the Ensemble sample and Ensemble sample code, it implements a custom html template and 100% size parameters.

  • White space issue in displaying page on Curve 8330

    Hi All
    I am using a lot of <div> tags on my jsp page to be displayed on Curve 8330 I am getting unnecessary white space after the last <div> tag . I have tried to set <div> and <body> tag style attributes like padding and margins to "0px" but with no luck.
    Would really appreciate help on this.
    thx

    Hi,
    File to Idoc and Idoc used is ORDERS05.
    Is IDOC occurence on target side is unbounded or 0..1???
    If multiple occurence means then u need to change the IDOC structure, just change the occurence to o.unbounded.
    Whenvever i am opening the payload with notepad i am able to see the space as 70th character and whenever i am checking the XML the space has been truncated for same.
    I understand from above that the payload is correct with 70th character is space , but when u see the XML Payload in moni, the size is less or the white spaces are trimmed out.
    So u neeed to add extra attribute on sender FCC
    node.fieldContentFormatting  nothing
    by default it is trim u need to change as nothing..

  • Saved PDF files have white spaces

    When I save a Aperture created photobook as a pdf file the file has a white spaces on either side of each page. This white space shows up in Aperture as black when I create the book and is how I wish to see it. Is there a way to fix this in Aperture? Or can it be done outside of Aperture if needed? I have never edited a pdf file so I am unsure how to proceed there if that is my only option.
    The reason I ask this is because I am looking to get a large quantity printed from a printing service that will provide a more attractive printing price when large quantities are ordered. Would a printing service be able to fill in the white with the black that I see in Aperture. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. -Elliot

    This could be as simple as selecting a borderless setting for the page size in the print book dialog prior to using the PDF drop down to save the book. It is hard to tell from your description. The printer and page size options for the real printer do affect the generated PDF file and white space issues are usually due to not having a borderless page size selected.

  • White Space Management

    Digging through the web trying to solve some white space
    issues, i stumbled upon the CF Administrator setting in CFMX7
    called White Space Management (under Server Settings). Enabling
    this reduces the size of pages that are parsed (obviously), but are
    there any consequences of enabling it? If there are not any
    consequences, then why is it not enabled by default in CFAdmin?

    i'm not sure the CF comment solution will work as
    intended...from what i've read, the manual way to do it is to
    either use the <cfsilent> tag (which suppresses all output to
    the buffer) or use <cfsetting enablecfoutputonly="true"> to
    only output to the buffer between cfoutput tags.
    I'm thinking that the whtie space management option is a
    solution to having to use these tags.
    My question really is, is there a performance hit for using
    it? how much? and does using it effect anything? (i've heard other
    comments on how it sometimes interferes with using the cfmail
    tag...which i'm not too worried about since we changed our mailer
    to use something other than cfmail)

  • Unwanted white space

    I am having a white space issue.  It is on the About Us page -
    http://www.radfabs.com/about.html I have the About Us content and pictures all in one div.
    As the site is white to narrow the area of problem I changed the background of the div yellow and tested it and that is definitely where the problem is but for the life of me I can't see it:
    #hometx {
    position:absolute;
    left:0px;
    top:195px;
    width:850px;
    height:1692px;
    z-index:6;
    padding-left: 20px;
    font-family: Tahoma, "Times New Roman", sans-serif;
    padding-top: 20px;
    border-top-style: none;
    border-right-style: none;
    border-bottom-style: none;
    border-left-style: none;
    background-color: #FFFFFF;}
    I did some on line research and found that others have had this issue and when they added in img {display: block} it fixed the problem - that did not work for me.  I would greatly appreciate any advice as this is making me a little crazy!
    Thanks!

    Thank you so much!! I have a few questions:
    What does this command do?
    html {
    overflow-y:scroll;}  Is this so a scroll bar appears if it is shrunk?
    I see you added font size 100.01% to the body - is that better to use than 1em?  Also I see because it is in the body I don't need it anywhere else. Ditto with the fontface.
    I see you put the boys pictures in their own div "bottom" and am curious why?  Does this clean up another flaw?
    On the bottom I see you added an th#facebook and put the color in that way.   I am a little confused about when to use a class and a id - I thought it would be better as a class so I could use it in additional spots, if I wanted to.  Is this wrong?
    I see you took out the left & top and definitions that I had in - I am guessing this was part of my drawing div's mess?  And I see you took at the z-index - are these not needed?
    You really are wonderful! Thank you again for taking the time and effort to help me with this!!!  I really appreciate seeing the clean code so I know where I need to do some fixes!!  I have a lot to learn!!

  • Get-Recipient or Get-Mailbox and "white spaces" after import user to TXT files.

    Hi Guys,
    In this week I had small task to move mailboxes from old SBS to new Exchange user. I have done this task with small problems. I decided of course to use Powershell to make my life simple.
    Step 1.
    Get-Recipient | Select-Object name, Database | where database -Match "Mailbox Database" |  FT - Property name | Out-File -FilePath c:\ex_users.txt
    or
    Get-Mailbox  | select name, servername | where ServerName -match Server1 | select Name | Out-File -FilePath c:\ex_users.txt -Encoding UTF8
    Unfortunately I had to spent some time to clean output files. After export files I noticed that something is wrong with text format.
    How can I avoid "white spaces" ?

    We always want to do our filtering as close to the left of a command as possible. Keeping this in mind, the first thing I looked for was to see if Get-Recipient had a filter parameter and it does.
    Get-Recipient -Filter {Database -eq 'CN=Mailbox Database,CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT),CN=Administrative Groups,CN=Organization,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=mydomin,DC=com'} | Select-Object -ExpandProperty Name | Out-File -FilePath 'C:\outfile-filter.txt'
    This seemed somewhat cumbersome because it required a lengthy DistinguishedName (DN). By the way, to get the DN of a database, use a modified version of this code.
    Get-MailboxDatabase -Identity databasename | Select-Object DistinguishedName
    I decided we would try filtering with the Where-Object cmdlet much like you did in your example. Noticed that I bumped it to the left so our filter ran prior to our select - something you should always do.
    Get-Recipient | Where-Object {$_.Database -match 'Mailbox Database'} | Select-Object -ExpandProperty Name | Out-File -FilePath 'C:\outfile-where.txt'
    Whichever way you do this, either the first or third code sample should help you write your data to a text file without the white space issue. I haven't looked at your second example but I suspect you could use some of this post to figure that one out yourself.
    Let us know and good luck.

  • White space character issue in PSA

    Hi All,
    I am loading master data full load from R3 to BW.The load is failing by giving the Error Message: "Too many error records - update terminated" and "Error 4 in the update"
    In details tab it is showing red entries as "Record 4857 :Value 'ATF-34143-TR1G         ' for characteristic 0VEND_MAT contains invalid character".
    This is due to extra white space character added to the value of the field.
    I can edit the record from PSA and reconstruct it.But as it is a full load, the error is repeating daily.
    Any body help me in resolving this issue permanently.
    (I think RSKC will not accept white space character )
    Thanks
    Rama

    Rama,
    Actually the system treats space as allowed character:
    Execute SE37, type in RSKC_ALLOWED_CHAR_GET.
    Double click in the statement
    E_DEFAULT_CHAR = G_C_ALLOWED_CHAR
    on the right part.
    You'll be brought to LRSKCTOP include.
    There you can see the default allowed chars:
    ' !"%&''()*+,-./:;<=>?_0123456789ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ'
    As you can see, there is a space as a first character.
    So, in order to help you try to answer questions I asked in my first post.
    Best regards,
    Eugene

  • Pagination Issue: Removing White Space

    If you were asked the simple question: "How do I remove blank pages?" you would likely answer: "Format | Page Layout | Pagination | Before Saving & Printing: Delete Empty Pages."
    If you were asked a variation of that question: "How do I remove partially blank pages?" some might answer: "Huh?"
    That's my question. I have this tendency to assume that a vacuum of information on the search engines means, sadly in answer to this question, "You can't remove partially blank pages."
    Before you answer, here is what I'm specifically attempting to do with FrameMaker 9:
    1)   I converted a user manual in Word 2007 to FrameMaker 9. The TOC contains several hundred headings (seven levels deep). Of course, the TOC includes chapters (heading1) at level 1, and topics (heading3 through heading7) for levels 2-7.
    2)   I converted the text and graphics under each heading (heading1 through heading7) to separate FrameMaker 9 files. (Each heading and all child sub-headings are "topics" that describe part of the UI for a software product.)
    3)   All of the converted FrameMaker 9 files were added to a FrameMaker 9 book. The TOC in this book is identical to the TOC of the original Word 2007 file.
    Each of these headings is a separate FrameMaker 9 file representing a topic mapped to the UI:
    CONSOLE MAIN SCREEN....................................... 63
    Inventory Control..................................... 81
    Intellectual Property............................. 82
    Using the Intellectual Property Page......... 83
    Viewing and Configuring................ 85
    Configuring Filters.............. 87
    View Settings.............. 88
    4)   I have linked all these files to a project in RoboHelp 8, creating a RoboHelp master page to render the help topics with exact same headers/footers in the FrameMaker 9 file. Whenever I make changes to the FrameMaker 9 files, I can open RoboHelp 8 and compile a new help project for the UI. Sweet. (It works so well, as a matter of fact, that it’s worth the cost of the Adobe Technical Communications 2 suite!)
    5)   For customers demanding a PDF version that looks EXACTLY like the previous PDF rendered in Word 2007, I print a PDF file from the FrameMaker 9 book for this user manual that looks almost exactly like the legacy PDF file rendered in Word 2007.
    Why “almost” exactly?
    As you may have guessed, if a topic ends with a paragraph at the top of the last page, there is blank space for the remainder of that page. Whereas in Word 2007, the next heading began immediately after the previous heading!
    FrameMaker 9 only has a setting on the ‘Pagination’ dialog for eliminating blank pages, not eliminating partially blank pages.
    I would like to render the PDF file, printed from the FrameMaker 9 book file, with each file in the book beginning on the line immediately after the preceding paragraph of the file before it in the book (unless the style such as heading1 dictates the line starts on a new page).
    In some cases, the last page of a topic has just three sentences, leaving the rest of the page blank. It seems to me that to do what I’m attempting, the recursive effect of starting the next file after the paragraph on the last page of the previous file in the book, would be to reduce the PDF by several (or more) pages. This would require FrameMaker 9 to adjust the page numbering of the PDF file (which would no longer coincide with page numbering for the FrameMaker 9 book files).
    This is no different of a problem than anyone with a book that contains 10 files (each file representing an entire chapter) would face. If a chapter ends with a page containing just three sentences, one would have to fiddle with the text to get those three lines to “bump” to the previous page. In the old days of technical writing, this typical pagination flaw was a thorn in my side. I had to print the document, and if the end of a chapter contained “orphaned” text (or even a small paragraph on an otherwise blank page) I had to reduce paragraph spacing to cause that rogue paragraph to bump to the previous page, eliminating the white space. I was kind of hoping that after almost three decades of computing, that basic problem was solved. In a small book with a dozen or less chapters, it’s not a real issue, but now that I have a book with several hundred files, I’m facing this dilemma for the first time.
    Suggestions, anyone? (Thanks for your patience in torturing through this message!)

    Excellent ideas; Text Insets created through File Import eloquently solved the problem!
    I created a separate book that I will use for rendering the PDF file for the user manual. In that book are files for entire chapters. In each chapter file are text insets for each heading file (which comprises an individual "topic" in RoboHelp).
    Here is what I did:
    Opened the book file containing cover, hundreds of topics and TOC, and Save Book As... [new book name] then delete all book files except for the cover and TOC.
    After opening a new (blank portrait) FrameMaker 9 file, I applied all formats from my master stylesheet file.
    Selected File | Import | Highlight the file | [Path\Name.fm of sequentially first FrameMaker 9 file in chapter] (select Import by Reference radio button) | Import. (The Import Text Flow by Reference dialog screen appears.)
    Selected defaults (Body Page Flow: A (Main Flow) | Reformat Using Current Document's Catalogs | Automatic) and additionally selected Manual Page Breaks and Other Overrides (Under Reformat Using Current Document's Catalogs) then selected Import.
    Moved the cursor to the end of the file. (This is important because the cursor is now positioned BEFORE the imported Text Inset, and the cursor needs to be positioned AFTER the imported Text Inset.)
    Repeated above steps 3-5, selecting the file containing the next heading in the chapter, until the current file contains Text Insets for all topic files.
    Save the file.
    Add the file to the book as the first chapter.
    Repeated above steps 2-8 until the book is populated with all chapters.
    Update and print to PDF.
    Problem solved: I obtained the desired results as per my original message in this thread.
    The side question was asked as to why creating a separate FrameMaker 9 file for each heading and sub-heading (as described in my original message in this thread) is necessary. The answer is simply "budget" as the start-up company where I work wants to instantaneously generate a RoboHelp Flash Help project from the FrameMaker 9 book through linking FrameMaker 9 to RoboHelp 8, which is evidently a new function. Each heading and sub-heading of the user manual correlates to a UI screen or UI component. The User Manual was authored (before I arrived on the scene) with the intent of each heading and sub-heading in the User Manual TOC documenting a UI screen or UI component.
    Therefore, instead of spending time creating a RoboHelp project in parallel, the company desired the elimination of costs associated with parallel development. Since the budget is non-existent for online help, pressing Help on any UI screen displayed a boilerplate screen instructing the customer to call customer support at a toll-free number, and a link to the PDF manual. Now, with minimal effort, the Help buttons are mapped to open the help topic for the corresponding heading in the user manual. Pressing Help opens the appropriate heading or "topic" and displays a TOC and search tabs as well (for full access to the documentation). This scheme requires little or no ongoing maintenance in RoboHelp 8 other than opening the help project, updating the links to FrameMaker 9, compiling the help project in Flash Help, and checking the help files in to Perforce for the nightly build.

  • Blank white spaces on pages

    Hi,
    For some reason, on my website it is showing some random blank white spaces? They appear to be in the same places on each individual page so I was wondering if it could possibly be anything to do with the master page? In preview mode, both on Adobe Muse and on the browser, it appears to be fine but as soon as I've put it up on to the website, the white spaces are evident and I need to get it fixed ASAP.
    My website is http://beckyofficial.businesscatalyst.com/index.html
    Although, please ignore the poor quality of my website for now; it's still under construction.
    If anybody here could help me, I'd be really grateful.
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi Jadey,
    Please send your .muse file to [email protected] Add link to this forum post and refer it to me. We'll investigate the issue and get back to you.
    Regards,
    Aish

  • I am having trouble with the position of my header image across browsers. white space above it in safari, pc, and crome then all to the right in firefox.

         <p>Sending Otis to Brian for the board and train program was the best decision I ever made.  After being told Otis could not be helped and that he should be put down, I was devastated.  Otis has now been back from Brian's program for a few weeks and is extremely obedient and friendly.  He is the same puppy we brought home a couple years ago, but calmer and without any aggression.  We work on Otis' obedience daily as well as walk him and put him on the treadmill.   Thanks to Brian, our dog is happy-go-lucky and more approachable.  The list goes on and on of how Brian has helped the family, myself, and especially Otis.  If you are having issues with your dog, especially behavior and aggression problems, my advice to you is to trust Brian.  Your dog will be in good hands with a safe, reliable, responsible, dog lover that will treat your dog like his own.<br />

    The issue with that white space is explained by the use of relative positioning of your menu. Remember that relative positioning visually allows you to move an element, but that its "shadow" or "foot print" is retained in the document flow. So it still takes up space where it originally flowed in your content, and this causes the header image to position itself the way it does. Turn off the relative positioning of the menu to see what I mean. A simple solution is to set the #header to relative positioning, and then apply absolute positioning to the menu.
    There are other issues with your code. Much of it can be simplified, and you should really stop using ID selectors from this point on, and predominantly use classes instead. The use of ID selectors ought to be limited as much as you can - they force you to write bloated convoluted code.
    Try to write DryCSS (Don't Repeat Yourself).
    Here is my somewhat cleaned up code. Notice I removed and simplified most of the css selectors. Some have no css properties at all anymore. And be careful that you cannot use re-use the same id selector in your html  code: it will not validate. #program1 must become .program1
    PS as always, please backup your files before applying these changes! Dreamweaver lacks a history/versioning feature!

    1) Padding is only placed on the top and/or bottom of the divs. The elements within these divs have padding on their sides. This saves you from any "box model math". Keep in mind, if you add any side padding or border to the div itself, it will be added to the width you define to create the *total* width. You may also choose to remove the padding on the element in the div and place a second div within it with no width and the padding necessary for your design.
    2) No margin has been given to the columns since they are all floated. If you must add margin, avoid placing it on the side you're floating toward (for example: a right margin on a div set to float right). Many times, padding can be used instead. For divs where this rule must be broken, you should add a "display:inline" declaration to the div's rule to tame a bug where some versions of Internet Explorer double the margin.
    3) Since classes can be used multiple times in a document (and an element can also have multiple classes applied), the columns have been assigned class names instead of IDs. For example, two sidebar divs could be stacked if necessary. These can very easily be changed to IDs if that's your preference, as long as you'll only be using them once per document.
    4) If you prefer your nav on the left instead of the right, simply float these columns the opposite direction (all left instead of all right) and they'll render in reverse order. There's no need to move the divs around in the HTML source.

    Give <div class="container"> the same blue background color as your right side bar.
    You'll notice in IE some of the spacing for the rest of your page is slightly larger than in Firefox (browsers do that a lot if you aren't very, very specific about sizes). Because of that, your side bar isn't long enough to fill in the space on that side and the background color of the "container" <div> shows through.
