CCM using "*" for an outside line; delayed secondary DT

Because the customer site is already using extension numbers beginning with 9 (and every other number), I want to use the "*" key to access an outside line in order to avoid a delayed secondary dialtone. However, my secondary dialtone still doesn't get played until I hit my second character. I only have two route patterns that begin with "*" and both have "provide outside dial tone" checked. I also have verified this through the route plan report. Is there something special about "*" and how CCM does dial pattern matching? THANKS!!!!
Mike.

Hi Mike,
Could you please attach your Route Plan report.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_tech_note09186a00800949f0.shtml#intro
Remember that wildcards in RPs can interfer with secondary dial tone. (ie XXXX RPs.)
Could be a number of patterns/DN's that might mess up secondary dial tone.
You might want to investigate what these patterns are associated with.
If they are DN's for a CTI port or CTI RP, then these are enterprise numbers
and are configured as on-net devices. Once they are eliminated, you will get secondary dialtone
Other way to troubleshoot is looking at CCM Digit Analisys dump in CCM detailed trace.
Let me know

  • Other uses for wildcards outside collections?

    Hi,
I can understands for using a wilcard i.e. a "?" in a collection. But I was just wondering are the used that much outside collections / lists / sets etc? Can you provide a good example of when you'd use one not in the aforementioned circumstances?
    Thanks.

Currently I am working on an easy to use, simple, abstract recursive decent parser. I try to assume as few things as possible about the things handled by the parser. What I assume is, that its input is a sequence of <C extends Enum<C>> and that its output is some type <N>. The N resembles Node, of course, but I would not want to know.
The parser interface has just one method
N parse(Lexer<N,C> lex) throws ParseExceptionThe parser's implementation makes use of a
    interface NodeFactory<N>{
      N create(List<N> children);
}There are parser implementations for Sequence, Choice, Repeat, Token and so on. The course of computation goes roughly like this: Far down the recursive decent, a Token parser recognizes a token because it gets a C from the lexer. Then it asks the lexer to provide a corresponding N for the C. The N is passed upwards. One level up, there may be a Sequence parser which wants to see a sequence of specific tokens. It collects all the N's provided by its Token parsers and then asks its NodeFactory to wrap them in a new N, which it passes up. And so on.
Nowhere the parsing mechanism has any idea what the N are, and it does not need to know. I could have used Object, but then the NodeFactory, to be provided by someone who wants to use the parser, would also see just Object. The way I do it, they can work with whatever they define as N in a typesafe fashion. Thanks for posting this because it explains a lot to me as a troubleshooter trying to help other people. No one should be using the guest network feature for their own devices. By default, most routers prevent devices on the guest network from accessing devices on the main network for security reasons. Some routers let you disable that security feature but it's a bad idea if you are letting other people use your guest network.
Furthermore, everyone should have WiFi Protected Setup (WPS) disabled in their router if their router supports the "external registrar" authentication method. That's the method where you enter an 8-digit code which is printed on the bottom (or side) of the router into a device you want to add to your network. You can read more about this here:
    http://www.kb.cert.org/vuls/id/723755
To the best of my knowledge, Apple routers are not vulnerable to this exploit because they do not support "external registrar".
The major brand with the worst exposure to this problem is Linksys because WPS currently cannot be disabled in their consumer routers (at the time I'm writing this). The situation should begin to improve in March 2012 as Linksys starts to roll out firmware upgrades for certain models. Here's a link to the Linksys firmware release schedule:

  • Which info object should be used for Financial statement line (BPS and BCS)

    Hi experts.
A rather easy and straightfoward questions for someone out there.
In BPS as we know, we use the info object '0SEM_POSIT' (account groups, or financial statement line) to summamrize and store amounts from groups of accounts or for example data from COPA's value fields, and which is already an attribute of the info object '0ACCOUNT'.
I am told that there is another BCS related info object called '0CS_ITEM' that serves the same purpose, and uses it for the same reason for the purpose of consolidations.
We'd obviously like to use just the one of these info objects because of planning and reporting.
Can someone out there with knowledge in BCS recommend which one to use, and from their experience in the past how they combined the use of both (if you in fact did use both).
Also, is it true that in BCS you cannot use a two characteristic BW hierarchy for consolidations, and it can only consolidate a one characteristic BW hierarchy?
    Thanks dearly

    Hi Eugene,
I kind of understood what you said, but just incase, let me explain my situation a little clearer. In BPS I'm using 0SEM_POSIT for two reasons:
    1) To create hierarchy based on 0SEM_POSIT info object, and making each node postable. This is because on this project we don't plan at account level. Only at a kind of account group/financial statement line level. So each node is postable so that they roll up to the higher levels.
    2) I will have 0SEM_POSIT as an attribute of 0ACCOUNT (which is standard delivered as an attribute in BW). This will ensure that I derive the actuals at that the same level as the planned. This is required for two reasons:
                               a) I can have the actuals as comaprison column in the Planning
                                   layout.
                               b) I can report on the Actuals vs. Plan at the postable node
                                   level in BW queries.
So having explained this, what I understood from your explanation is:
    a) I can continue to 0SEM_POSIT as my info object for my postable node hierarchy, and
    b) I can also use 0CS_ITEM as a consolidation unit specifically for BCS only.
So what I really didn't understand is:
    1) your explanation of the mapping of 0SEM_POSIT to 0CS_ITEM, and what this mapping actually does. For example does 0CS_ITEM derive the values from 0SEM_POSIT because of this mapping? Can you explain this a bit? Is Datastream a tool in BCS by which BCS readinf financial data from other components?
    2) Can BCS use a 2 characteristic postable nodes hierarchy as a consolidation unit? For example, if I create ONE hierarchy using 0SEM_POSIT, and 0ACCOUNT. Both will be postable at any level of the hirarchy.
Can BCS consolidate using this 2 characteristic hierarchy structure? OR, must it use 0CS_ITEM info object?
    3) How does both 0SEM-POSIT, and 0CS_ITEM co-exist together, in terms of planning, consolidation, and reporting. For example if I report using the 0CS_ITEM hierarchy, then I will not be able to read plan data, because plan data is posted on the 0SEM_POSIT? and vice versa......? This question kind of ties in with 1).
Sorry for the long message, but I wanted to make sure I explained it better.
    Thanks for your help

  • Open Directory Usefulness for Home Server

I'm using Mountain Lion Server primarily as a web server, but as a retired tech writer/programmer I like to fool around with things in case I ever need to return to work. I set up the Open Directory master as part of the installation process, but I'm not sure how useful it is for me. When my site was hosted on Mobileme I got about 30 visits in a day max, and about 1 comment every year or two. So my questions are:
How useful is the Open Directory for me, and is there any point in keeping it turned on?
Is it useful for people outside of my LAN?
Any additional comments, or information are appreciated.

  • How to use the mirrored and log shipped secondary database for update or insert operations

    Hi,
I am doing a DR Test where I need to test the mirrored and log shipped secondary database but without stopping the mirroring or log shipping procedures. Is there a way to get the data out of mirrored and log shipped database to another database for update
    or insert operations?
Database snapshot can be used only for mirrored database but updates cannot be done. Also the secondary database of log shipping cannot used for database snapshot. Any ideas of how this can be implemented?
    Thanks,
    Preetha

Hmm in this case I think you need Merge Replication otherwise it breaks down the purpose of DR...again in that case..

  • Using Primay cost element instead of secondary cost element for expenses tr

    Hai  SAP Guru
WE are developer company, so when a land is acquired we create the project under business development with nomenclature "BD/LG/01" with  corporate  profit centre linked to it (as we are not sure if the project takes of due to various issues.)
When the project commences we create another project structure with nomenclature "BE/LG/01u201D  with new profit centre.
So when we transfer the cost lying in u201C BD u201D  project to u201C BE u201C project by giving settlement profile, the cost get transferred using secondary cost element. when we see the statement through CJI3 report the cost would have get transferred but when we
see the report through Finance Profit Centre report the cost would have not transferred.
So in order to get the report in profit centre, can we use primary cost element instead of secondary cost element, if we use the primary cost element what the consequence and what care needs to be taken for settlement.
    Thanks.

    Thanks.

  • Using DMR for multiple GR line item

    Hi,
I would like to ask for some clarification in using DMR.
For example is I have multiple line item for a GR with separate Inspection Lot Number. How will it be handled during DMR?
A scenario is for a example, I have 10 lot. First 9 lot skipped then 10th lot inspected, then if fail do normal inspection for the next 5 lot.
How will the system behave if GR is done at the same time for the 10 line item.
    Thank you,
    Raymond

    Dear Raymond
Also there is another dimension to this. There are two type of timing fo Dynamic modification rule
    1) Dynamic Modification at Lot Creation
For dynamic modification at lot creation, the quality level is updated when an inspection lot is created. The system assumes that the forthcoming inspection will lead to an acceptance of the inspection lot or characteristic.
An inspection lot, which is created immediately after the quality level is updated, uses the information in the updated quality level without a usage decision having been made.
If dynamic modification is carried out at lot creation and the inspection lot is subsequently rejected, the system updates the quality level again when the usage decision is made. The new inspection stage is used by the system to calculate the sample sizes for the next inspection lot.Changing the quality level does not affect inspection lots that were created in the meantime.
    2) Dynamic Modification with the Usage Decision
For dynamic modification with the usage decision, the system updates the quality level when you make the usage decision. At this point, the system evaluates the conditions for an inspection stage change based on the dynamic modification rule and, depending on the results of the current inspection, it determines whether or not the inspection stage should occur.

  • Fax line used for outgoing calls when incomming fax not coming in?

So is there a way to do this? Can I route the 1 FXO to FXS for incomming calls (and plug fax into FXS) or something like this and then use that line as an outgoing line when not in use?
I don't need step but steps but the basics of how something like this could be configured would be awesome!!!

I'm not sure if I understand. I set this up, so I understand phone systems enough to do this, but I don't really don't know the terminoligy.
    Let me back up.
Currently our business has 2 lines and a fax line. Right now the two lines are plugged into 2 FXO ports and the fax line is just plugged into the fax machine--not the UC320. We're in mixed mode, not pbx specifically. We get one or two faxes a day and we send two or 3 faxes a day. We'd like to be able to use the fax line for outgoing calls when it's not being used for fax.
So I need to be able to control the in and the out of the fax line. I need all incomming calls for the fax number routed to what I assume would be the FXS port (with the fax machine plugged into the FXS port), and none of the other lines routed in this way (the other lines would go to the attendant).
Then I need if we send a fax, we need for when the fax machine opens the line for it to automatically be routed to the fax line. Then the fax machine can dial and send faxes. I think we send few enough faxes that we're not too worried about what happens if we try to send a fax and the phone is busy, but it would be nice to be able to look at a phone and tell if the fax line is in use.
I don't really care if the Fax line is part of a shaed FXO, it can be a seperate choice on the phone for making outgoing calls (one of the buttons next to the screen or something).
Is all this possible? Is it only possible in PBX style or is mixed ok?

I frequently use Lightroom 3.6 for tethered capture on location. If I sign up for Adobe cloud and upgrade to Lightroom 5, do I have to be online all the time to use it? In other words, can I still use the program off-line?

    Yes.
The only difference is the installation method and the ownership verification. The program still is installed on and runs from your local machine. You only have to hook up to the internet every 60-90 days to verify ownership.
    From the FAQ
Do I need to be online to access my desktop apps?
No, the desktop applications in Creative Cloud, such as Photoshop and Illustrator, are installed directly on your computer, so you don’t need an ongoing Internet connection to use them.
An Internet connection is required the first time you install and license your apps, but you can use the apps in offline mode with a valid software license. The desktop apps will attempt to validate your software licenses every 30 days.
Annual members can use the apps for up to 99 days in offline mode. Month-to-month members can use the software for up to 30 days in offline mode."

Whats the relationship between CCMS system and SolMan?
    Thank you .

    hi,
I just want to ask a question. At our client we have solution manager and CCMS. There is data in CCMS I can extract, it is loading on BW side ok the same number of recs,  but the problem on CCMS cubes says there are the same number of record in the cube and also showing as the data is ready for the reporting. But when I run the report and view the data as listcube it is empty.
ANy of you have the situation like this cube say it has the data but when do th BEX or infocube contents the cube is empty nothing in there. The same thing is happening with hourly, 15 minute and daily cubes.
Anyhelp on this matter is appreciated
