Cells in SAP BW Query u2013 possible to use in Crystal Reports ?

Hello Experts,
we have the following scenario:
- Crystal Reports Report (CRR) on top of a SAP BW Query which uses cells
It seems that we cannot access the cells in Crystal Reports. Or does anyone know a way how to work with the cells ?
Many thanks in advance for your help !
Frank

Hi,
son in case you have a query with multiple structures you will see those structure in Crystal reports.
the structure with keyfigures is being resolved in actual measures in CR and the structure with characteristics will become a single item in CR returning several rows. the cell definition itself is totally transparent to CR.

    Hi Thomas,
    Are you having Xcelsius also in your kitty??(for dynamically doing this activity)
    Xcelsius has very good writing & reading functionality and you can incorporate your crystal report data into it using live office.
    Let say you have a report in crystal , you connect that repot to live office .Let say this is REPORT named as SOURCE CR  REPORT.
    IN Xcelsius import the this SOURCE CR REPORT  report using live office connection and using GRID selector there to show tabular data.
    Xcelsius has buttons & controls  for updating and exporting the data inform of XML SOURCE FILE.
    Now you can either make xcelsius Dashboard for TARGET CR REPORT or you can make crystal Report on ADO.NET(XML) for second crystal Report.
    Search on SDN for cross usage of Crystal & Xcelsius

  • Is it possible to add a crystal report to BP maintenance screen

    In SAP 8.8 we would like to use a Crystal Report statement of account and be able to click on the screen and run the report. is there a way in 8.8 to attach a Crystal report to a screen? Thanks

    BP Master table has different structure with most tables. I don't think you could associate with any reports here. Better create a standalone report.

  • BO Explorer - Possibility of importing a Crystal Reports - report ?

    Hi,
    im trying to find out if it's possible to import a report made in Crystal Reports 2008 SP2 into Polestar / BO Explorer.
    As i could see in the newest Version of the Crystal Reports Viewer there is a option to export the report into the "Bo Explorer in the Cloud Beta", where its workin fine.
    Hopefully anyone could help me.

    Hi,
    As far as I now the only data sources for SBO Explorer is SAP BW or SAPBWA.
    If your Crystal report is based on a BW query you could reuse that I guess with a universe and information space on top.

  • Bex Query not passing all rows to Crystal reports

    hello experts,
    i have created a bex query that shows all employees from the master data table and links to the cats table to show absence hours...
    in bex, all employees are showing and some of the employees have hours showing for sick time. this is known as a left outer join.
    i have created a report in crystal with this bex query and it does not show rows from the master data that do not have a link to the cats table. only the rows that have a link to the cats table are showing up. (this is compared to a inner join)
    the reason i need the master data from the employee table is that the users want to divide the total hours off(sick time) per department by the total employees in that department.
    here is the sql query from crystal that was created automatically when i used the bex query to created the crystal report.
    SELECT {Measures.4J8L2TQJ3P517ISQ1R4Y8UZ36, Measures.4J9PY3UANRIW2HW15YSOED92A, Measures.4J9TLIO0NDQROSA2YONCW6HB6}
    ON COLUMNS,
    NON EMPTY
    CROSSJOIN(0EMPLOYEE.LEVEL01.MEMBERS, 0EMPLOYEE__0COMP_CODE.LEVEL01.MEMBERS)
    DIMENSION PROPERTIES 0EMPLOYEE.50COMP_CODE, 0EMPLOYEE.50MAST_CCTR ON ROWS
    FROM ZCATS_MC1/ZZCATS_MC1_Q001C
    SAP VARIABLES 0I_DAYS INCLUDING 0CALDAY.20100502 : 0CALDAY.20100903
    i am using the mdx driver, and the integration kit is 2.8.
    any thoughts?
    thanks,
    erik

    Thanks Ingo for the quick response.
    this sounds like a limitation in the integration between bex and crystal because the query shows the correct data and the crystal reports does not. i have tried to add a calculated key figure to all the rows and put a number in it but it still does not show the rows in crystal.
    my issue is that they(the business users) want to know all the employees in the employee master data along with all the sick / illness data.
    do you have a suggestion for this issue?
    do you think that the mdx driver should be updated to allow master data to flow to crystal?
    thx,
    Erik

  • Is it possible to use the JAVA Report Engine SDK to modify DESKI reports?

    Post Author: Nadine
    CA Forum: JAVA
    Hi, is it possible to add a complex filter to a DESKI report using the JAVA report engine sdk?
    In the developer tutorials for this API, I've only found references to WEBI in terms of modifying reports, though it seems to be possible to view DESKI reports with this sdk.
    I am a bit confused in terms of the scope of this API and how I would use it in regard to DESKI.
    Many thanks for any suggestions!

    Current (XI R2) version of ReportEngine API only supports refreshing/viewing functionality for Desktop Intelligence documents.  Document modification/creation is only supported with Web Intelligence documents.  Queries aren't modifiable for Deski using ReportEngine API - you can only do so using Desktop Intelligence Reporter SDK, which is COM based.Sincerely,Ted Ueda

  • Need to adjust SQL query for left outer join in Crystal Reports 2008.

    I need to change this SQL 2005 query.....
    SELECT     omnicell_anl.DeviceIDsLastMetricTable.member_id, omnicell_anl.DeviceIDsLastMetricTable.[Device Name],
                          omnicell_anl.DeviceIDsLastMetricTable.Account, omnicell_anl.labeledLastMetrics.PROPERTY_NAME,
                          omnicell_anl.labeledLastMetrics.latest_monitor_value
    FROM         omnicell_anl.DeviceIDsLastMetricTable LEFT OUTER JOIN
                          omnicell_anl.labeledLastMetrics ON omnicell_anl.DeviceIDsLastMetricTable.member_id = omnicell_anl.labeledLastMetrics.member_id
    WHERE
        omnicell_anl.labeledLastMetrics.PROPERTY_NAME = ?MyProperty
    To this query in Crystal Reports Report Writer:
    SELECT     omnicell_anl.DeviceIDsLastMetricTable.member_id, omnicell_anl.DeviceIDsLastMetricTable.[Device Name],
                          omnicell_anl.DeviceIDsLastMetricTable.Account, omnicell_anl.labeledLastMetrics.PROPERTY_NAME,
                          omnicell_anl.labeledLastMetrics.latest_monitor_value

                          omnicell_anl.labeledLastMetrics.PROPERTY_NAME = ?MyProperty
    I can't seem to get the left outer join function of Crystal Reports to emulate the same SQL query in SQL 2005.  Any ideas on how I can create this same query in Crystal 2008?
    Thanks,

    If you want the list of values for command level parameter then you need to add another command like
    select PropertyField from table
    and delete the links between this command and the existing command.
    Now go to field explorer and edit the command level parameter and make it as dynamic and add the property field from newly added command.
    Hope this helps!

  • SAP System Logon selection shows up blank in Crystal Reports

    Hi there,
    I've done the following so many times, in the following order, without running into any issues:
    1. Install SAP Front End
    2. Install Business Objects Enterprise 3.1
    3. Install Business Objects Explorer 3.1 SP1 (Polestar 3.1)
    4. Install Crystal Reports 2008 SP1
    5. Crystal Reports Viewer 2008
    6. Install Xcelsius Enterprise 2008 SP2
    7. Install Live Office 3.1
    8. Install SAP Integration Kit 3.1 (Custom-->Complete installation)
    However, this time around  I've run into an issue which I'm trying to resolve, but it has been a nightmare. When I try to access "SAP Table, Cluster, or Function" from File menu>New>Standard Report>Create New Connection>SAP Table, Cluster, or Function, I see the "Available SAP Systems" section blank on the "SAP System Logon" dialog box.
    However, this dialog box shows all the connections strings when I access it via the SAP menu or toolbar in Crystal Reports.
    To fix this issue I've uninstalled SAP IK, CR Viewer and Crystal Report and reinstalled it, but the problem persists. I am wondering if you have ever come across this before and if you could please give me some tips to resolve this.
    Thanks a lot,
    Gaurav

    Hi
    please do the following:
    1. Define an environment variable (user or system) with the name SAPLOGON_INI_FILE . This variable should contain the path to your saplogon.ini file including the file name eg. if the saplogon.ini resides in the folder  c:\windows the variable should contain the following value c:\windows\saplogon.ini
    2. Open your saplogon.ini file using Notepad and go to File->Save as. Choose All Files in the field Save as type and DO NOT change the name of the file. In the field Encoding make sure that UTF-8 is selected.

  • SAP B1 8.8 PL 13 Authorisation with Crystal Report

    Hi Experts,
    I have implemented SAP B1 8.8 PL 13,
    Problem is that, I am not able to control authorizations of crystal reports.
    Practical case:-  We have one crystal report called 'VAT Return Report', where are i trying to change authorization of this Crystal report, when i give authorization to this report, system shows 'Operation completed successfully',  after this if  i  close authorization window, and again open authorization window, that authorization for 'VAT Return Report' do not retain, i.e system do not show authorization which i was given.
    Please any one can suggest me how can i solve this problem.

    Hi Sathish,
    I have checked this in PL18 have had no issue being a super user and not a super user its working fine, in crystal designer have you been able to execute the report.
    try this
    1. Is your printer setup to the correct one you normally use. - In my case it had been default
    2  In Report layout manager (RLM) --> Select the VAT ... report and verify if the status is Active.
    3. Are you able to execute the report from RLM -> Run Report
    Is your report is still not working in SBO Re-import it..

  • Is it possible to call a Crystal Report from Oracle Forms.

    Hi Everybody,
    I got a Dout about Crystal Reports. Is it possible to call Crystal Reports from Oracle Forms.

    Hello,
    That depends are you running Forms via the WEB or client/server. I will assume you are running client/server since you are running crystal reports. The answer is yes. All you will have to do is use the HOST command or the win_api_shell to run the report. Look in the Forms manual for information on the commands and what else you may need.

  • SAP cant show my .swf in the imported Crystal Report

    Hi,
    I have made a Xcelsius what if scenario, with data from a crystal report connected to a SAP database, and embedded it in my crystal report. This report i have imported in my SAP system via the crystal report intergration for SAP.
    Now to the problem.....
    I can see the swf picture in my report and i can interakt with it so i know it works but i cannot see it in the report generated from SAP.
    WHY is that ???
    Thx Elle

    you should have hash installed on client side/viewer side.
    also there is a cross domain security associated with falsh objects. if you are accessing SAP Server(i am not SAP expert just a guess) from another domain using VPN then you might need to edit domain.xml of SAP server

  • Bex Query not passing blank columns to crystal reports

    good morning ladies and gentleman,
    i have created a bex query that shows all employees from the master data table and links to the cats table to show absence hours...
    in bex, all employees are showing and some of the employees have hours showing for sick time. very good...
    i have created a report in crystal with this bex query and it does not show rows from the master data that do not have a link to the cats table. only the rows that have a link to the cats table are showing up.
    the reason i need the master data from the employee table is that the users want to divide the total hours off(sick time) per department by the total employees in that department.
    i have tried to create a formula that will add 1 to the hours sick field, then all the rows should have a amount in it. but, it still does not show the employees who do not have sick time.
    here is the sql query from crystal.
    SELECT {[Measures].[4J8L2TQJ3P517ISQ1R4Y8UZ36], [Measures].[4J9PY3UANRIW2HW15YSOED92A], [Measures].[4J9TLIO0NDQROSA2YONCW6HB6]}

    this is kind of an emergency and i have been working on this for two days and cannot come to a resolution.
    if anyone can help, i would appreciate it.
    i am guessing that there is a option somewhere that will allow blank records to show.
    please help.
    thanks,

  • Running Total Issue or Possibly Formula Issue in Crystal Reports 9

    Post Author: Jeffs23
    CA Forum: Formula
    My issue involves two formula's - @TotalTime and @Converted Time and a Running Total (RTotal0).
    @TotalTime{Data.ApptTime}/60@Converted Timenumbervar x := {#RTotal0};totext(truncate(x),0,"")" Hrs "totext(remainder(x,truncate(x))*60,0,"") + " Mins"Running Total (RTotal0)

    {Data.Resource} <> previous({Data.Resource})
    ) and
    minimum({Data.ApptKind},{Data.ResourceStart}) = 1 AND
    maximum({Data.Column},{Data.ResourceStart}) >= '1'
    Reset on change of field {Data.Resource}
    A little background:My report deals with a Doctors schedule. In the doctors schedule, a appointment is booked and is by default placed into Column 1. It always defaults to Column 1. If the provider elects to double book their time and schedule another patient at the exact same time, the second appointment hits column 2. It expands in essence. It is possible to have up to 4 appointments in one time slot. This is why we wait forever at the Doctors office - appointments get overbooked because patients cancel or no show frequently and the provider would rather have the patients wait then risk no appointment at all. My Client wants the "TOTAL TIME" a provider was "scheduled" to see patients, not the time they actually saw the patients. So if the Provider was scheduled to see patients from 8 am to noon and had patients doublebooked for every time slot, I only want to report the overall time he saw patients regardless of the doublebooking, triplebooking or quadruplebooking. So the total time for my example should be 4 hours not 8 hours. The good news is this is painfully close to being correct! What is currently happening, is if the schedule contains more than 1 facility the time calculates wrong.  I think my issue may be in the running Total but not 100% sure. I need it to calculate time on each facility - {Data.Facility}.

    I had some minor issues with my formulas and Running Total so I modified them alittle:
    @TotalTime
    If {Data.ApptTime} = 0 then    0else    {Data.ApptTime}
    @Converted Time
    If {#RTotal0} = 0 then    "--"else    ToText(Truncate({#RTotal0}/60),0,"") + " Hour(s), " + ToText(Remainder({#RTotal0},60),0,"") + " Min(s)"
    My running total stayed the same.......
    Field to Summarize - @TotalTime Type of Summary - sum Under Evaluate Section: "Use a Formula":(onfirstrecord or{Data.ResourceStart} <> previous({Data.ResourceStart}) or{Data.Resource} <> previous({Data.Resource}) ) andminimum({Data.ApptKind},{Data.ResourceStart}) = 1 AND maximum({Data.Column},{Data.ResourceStart}) >= '1' Reset on change of field {Data.Resource}
    Some fake sample data:
    Resource = Francis, William MD
    Facility 1: River Oaks Main Clinic
    Facility 2: Western Medical Hospital
    Date of Service = 10/25/2007
    From 7:15 am to 11:45 am, Patients were treated at Facility 1: River Oaks Main Clinic *** (total time = 4 hours 30 min)
    From 12:15 pm to 1:00 pm, Patients were treated at Facility 2: Western Medical Hospital *** (total time = 45 min)
    From 1:00 pm to 3:15 pm, Patients were treated at Facility 1: River Oaks Main Clinic *** (total time = 2 Hours 15 min)
    The report should tell me Total time at River Oaks Main Clinic = 6 Hours 45 min and 45 min for Western Medical Hospital. What it currently is doing, is reporting the 6 Hours 45 min on the River Oaks Main Clinic and 7 Hours 30 min on the Western Medical Hospital. The time for this facility should be 45 minutes, yet its taking the full provider time and throwing it into this second facility. I am assuming its because the Running total tells it "Reset on change of field {Data.Resource}". Somehow, I need it to evaluate on both the Resource and the Facility. Any suggestions?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks in Advance

    personal experience the variables doesnt work properly from query to bobj, remove any calculations in yoru query and variables, you could only use filters in query.. when you bring them in webi then brring the values to the report then create vraibles in it there.
    i keep my query from filtering as well then do everything in webi or xcelsius ..
