  • Losing service+cellular data cannot be activated

    I've been having some issues with my iPhone 3GS recently. After contacting my provider, Bell, and getting a new SIM card, my issue was only temporarily resolved.
    My phone continues to say no service, or if I do have service, it says cellular data cannot be activated and I cannot receive text messages or use the 3G network.
    I've tried everything but restoring my iPhone, any tips would be great.

  • Itunes cannot locate files all of a sudden. Why?

    I had recently went to a friends house who had home sharing turned on. I do not have this feature turned on.
    When I left her house, I could no longer play my music.
    It says " Itunes cannot locate file "
    The songs that it is doing this for are songs I had to transfer over by a memory card from a previous computer.
    Why all of a sudden are they missing files?

    If you weren't doing Home Sharing then the HS thing likely has absolutely nothing to do with this.  You must have done something else that caused the links in iTunes database to break.  iTunes keeps a list of what files it needs to play and where they are located.  If you do something such as renaming a folder or moving a folder or file, it can cause that location reference to no longer be valid.

    All of a sudden, I cannot watch youtube at all.
    The screen will remain black all the time with no play button to click.
    My firewall is set to off. I have also clear all my cache memory and it is still the same in both Safari as well as Chrome browser !
    Any ideas ?

    Thanks but is the problem because of Adobe Flash Player because I can play YouTube in Firefox browser but not Chrome & Safari.

  • Fan activity all of a sudden...

    My PowerMac G5 has been trouble-free for quite a while, at least a year or so. It had a bad processor initially and was all noisy and freaky but since that was replaced, it's been super quiet. I NEVER hear the fans.
    All of a sudden in tonight's session I heard a fan revving up, then slowing, then revving again. It became more frequent as the session went on. I tried unplugging the power to reset the SMU, which didn't seem to help, at least not at first.
    Most recently, the fan went steady for a while, and now it's been totally quiet for several minutes. I'm hoping it has stopped but somehow I doubt it...
    Does that sequence of events sound familiar to anyone? What might it be all about?

    Click on "Date" to sort by date. Click it again to reverse the sorting.
    Or, in the menu, '''View|Sort By''' and select '''Date''' and '''Ascending '''or '''Descending '''as you require. You probably want '''Unthreaded''' too.

    It is possible that some of the server options have changed recently. I would recommend using this to get the settings from the email provider directly and use that information to setup the account.

  • My iphone5 cannot detect 3g all of the sudden

    It is not related to any software update. it just lost the 3g signal but still showed normal coverage bar. tried to reboot, reset the setting, airplane mode, and thats all just useless. apreatiate any help. tq

    thanks for offering to help! When I opened mail in the new account, it didn't crash.
    However nor did it have all my gmail mailboxes and stuff that I'd set up in my original account. Is that normal?

  • TS4268 Please help.  I cannot send messages (all of a sudden) from my ipad.

    I did a re-set, turned it off, made sure I was connected to wifi, and still the "send" button does not light up so I can't send a message any more.  It worked previously.  Any ideas?

  • Cannot activate cellular data network (intermittent)

    During the past couple weeks I've noticed the data connection on my iPhone 4 (iOS 4.3.4), particularly when moving across town, is unavailable. It's been fairly consistent in not being able to use the data connection and I've received errors saying the cellular network cannot be activated or that Safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the Internet. If I turn airplane mode on and then back off it lets me use the data network again.
    I'm wondering if anyone else has been having this problem.

    I Have an ipad . I'm trying to get my cellular data turned on and all I get is an error 500-- internal server error; the server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.  I have no internet service, but I do have wiFi. I have powered down.

    It might also help if you told us what you are doing to try and login which you think is right.
    One definition of crazy is repeating the same actions overs and over expecting different results.
    You could have an iPad that uses a SIM card as well as WiFi.
    You may not then get an alert about not being able to contact the servers.
    You may be doing all the right actions but have a poor and bad internet connection.
    Although it is unlikely the place you are at may be blocking the port Messages uses.
    More possible but also unlikely is that they (it is always "they") are blocking access to the servers by name. (Domain Blocking).

  • "Could not activate cellular data network" message  on iPhone 3GS (iOS 4.1)

    May this year I purchased a brand new iPhone 3GS 16GB from Vodafone on a 24mnth plan with 2gb of data monthly for mobile and tether use. The 3G and normal gsm data alwyas worked in areas where it was avalible until 3 months ago. In safari i would get a message stating that "Could not activate cellular data network" and in all apps no internet serivces worked unless wifi was activated.
    I put my sim in my n95 and my 5800 and internet worked on both. I got my number put onto a new sim card. I restored iPhone. I updated iPhone to 4.1 and reset all network settings.
    Nothing worked and apple came to the conclusion that it was a faulty handset and replaced it on saturday. Today when I woke up, the same message appeared!!!!

    I am having similar problems.
    My network settings are correct and I can communicate both over 3G and WiFi.
    However, every few minutes the connection is being dropped. A few seconds later it's back again. I can see this in an application I am developing. It's rather frustrating...
    In the console I see this message prior to the connection being lost and rebuilt:
    "Mon Sep 20 09:44:58 PeterVs-iPhone-3GS configd[23] <Notice>: network configuration changed."
    I have not changed anything to the configuration. What's even more strange is that I ONLY have 3G at this moment, i.e. WiFi is disabled.
    What is changing the network configuration? And why does it mean that the current network connection needs to be torn down and rebuilt? After the network is back, there is no difference than before. So it gets torn down and rebuilt for no apparent reason.
    I have logged a bug with Apple over a week ago, but haven't had any reply from them yet. I need more information about what is happening, and how I can prevent it. I'm not very happy having to grope in the dark, having to make guesses because somebody decided that he knows what's best for me.
    This is happening on multiple iPhones with multiple different OS-es. So I am guessing it is related to my carrier (Vodafone). But I can't verify it because I'm not getting the tools from Apple.

  • IPhone 6 Cellular Data Slow

    I just recently got my iPhone 6, 16 GB from Sprint. I upgraded from an iPhone 4S. While I love my phone, even with iOS 8.0.2, I am having issues with my cellular data. While I am supposed to be getting LTE in my area, I am mainly stuck on 3G. Also, the phone drops to 1x and eventually to no service. A "Could not activate cellular data network" message pops up from time to time. It's worth noting I live in NW Ohio as far as cellular data coverage goes.
    All happens while trying to browse the internet using Safari or other apps which require Internet. Call quality has always been excellent, and I have yet to experience any dropped calls. I have tried resetting my phone, updating my network, and have called Sprint all to no avail. I really enjoy using my iPhone, and hope Apple can resolve the issue.

    Check to make sure cellular data is not disabled in settings. If it's on, try re-setting the phone. If that doesn't fix it, call AT&T.
