Center all content

Hi All!
I am new to dreamweaver and using css. I have subscribed to
lynda.com for step by step video tutorials and they have been a
great help. I want to center all content within a set width
regardless of browser window size to create a center column look. I
have put a wrapper tag after the body tag in the css with a:
width: 800px;
margin: 0 auto;
this displays correct in firefox but aligns to the left in
safari.
Please help i still have much to learn and many sites i want
to redo...need to be done with this small silly issue!!!
Thanks!!
Jen

Seems to display correctly in my version of Safari on a Mac.
Are you testing in Safari on a PC? I think I read recently
that Safari
now runs on a PC but I don't know enough about it to make a
suggestion.
If you're testing on a Mac can you say what version of
Safari. Someone
may be able to shed some light on the problem.

  • Help me! - Simple Applescript to make a word doc center all contents

    Hello!
I am working on a small applescript which I will be using in Automator, however I can't for the life of me figure out how to script in telling the word doc to automatically center everything (text and images).
I have the following applescript which sets up the word doc in the margins and orientation I need, but now I just need to figure out how to center the contents.
        tell application "Microsoft Word"
set orientation of page setup of section 1 of active document to orient landscape
set pmRpt to page setup of active document
set left margin of pmRpt to (inches to points inches 0.85)
set right margin of pmRpt to (inches to points inches 0.95)
set top margin of pmRpt to (inches to points inches 1.5)
set bottom margin of pmRpt to (inches to points inches 1)
              end tell
    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks!!!

  • If you go to the reset option in seetiongs and you select erase all content will your icloud automatically sign out on its own ?

i'm curious because my it looks like i'll have to buy a new iphone because i dont remember the password to my email, my recovery email and my icloud and my best friend was generous enough to let me use her icloud to see if it can be fixed

No that will not sign you out of iCloud. If it did, Activation Lock would be very weak.
See the following quote from What to do before selling or giving away your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Go to Settings > General > Reset, then tap Erase All Content and Settings.
This will completely erase your device, including any credit or debit cards you added for Apple Pay and any photos, contacts, music, or apps. It will also turn off iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, Game Center, and other services.
If you're using iOS 7 or later and have Find My iPhone turned on, your Apple ID and password will be required. After you provide your password, the device will be erased and removed from your account so that the next owner can activate it.

  • Wrapping All Content

    Hi there,
I'm wanting to wrap all my content (DIVs) with one big DIV so that I can change the background of the page and keep the thing integral. The DIV I've used to wrap the content (.outer) does't seem to wrap all of the content on the page.
Is anybody able to offer any advice?

That's the nature of the beast .  With a class, the entire DOM must be parsed looking for all elements with that class, whereas IDs are "indexed" (the wrong term but I am blanking out on the correct one)  so the browser can go right to them for styling. I  can google around for my sources for this if you'd like.  For a simple page of course it is really moot, but as the page complexity increases, and more and more classes are applied, using IDs will save some clock cycles.
The reason I suggested adding a wrapper div was if the OP was looking to center the content, for example, as it was not clear to me just what the original intent was.

I do the Erase All Content and Settings, How can i restart my  i phone 3gs?

Reset the iPhone by holding the sleep/wake button at the top right of the device and the home button at the bottom center of the face at the same time.
Hold them both until you see the screen go black. In some cases, you may need to keep holding them even after the red power off slider appears. If it does, just keep holding it.
Wait until the white Apple logo appears.
When this happens, you can let go - the iPhone is rebooting.
An iPhone reset will not normally remove or delete any data or settings. However, the term reset is also sometimes used to mean deleting all content from the iPhone and/or restoring from a backup.

  • Center all items on stage

I needed to make my document size larger. Is there an easy way to center all the content in the new size? Right now everything is flushed to the top left corner.
    Thank you.

you'll need to do that in the authoring environment.
or, you could leave your current fla with the old stage size, publish your swf and then load that swf into another swf which has the larger stage size.  center the loaded swf and you'll get the effect you want.

  • Cant erase all content and settings

Trying to sell this iphone as I have a new carrier but all buyers want it reset.  When it asks for my pw I put in the correct one but nothing happens, sometimes it says verification timed out.  I already changed my carrier and deactived this phone, not sure if thats the cause or not

    Hey Cassfromnv,
It sounds to me like this is the section that you're getting stuck on:
Go to Settings > General > Reset, then tap Erase All Content and Settings.
This will completely erase your device and turn off iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, Game Center, and other services.
If you're using iOS 7 and have Find My iPhone turned on, your Apple ID and password will be required. After you provide your password, the device will be erased and removed from your account so that the next owner can activate it.
So if that isn't working, I would first make sure you're connected to Wi-Fi, and if you are - troubleshoot the internet connection on the device:
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
And if that doesn't resolve the issue, you can try this:
If you're using iCloud and Find My iPhone on the device, you can erase the device remotely and remove it from your account by signing in to icloud.com/find, selecting the device, and clicking Erase. When the device has been erased, click Remove from Account.

hi i am using iphone 3gs 32gb. i installed itunes in my laptop but i couldnot found all files like music and videos present in my laptop. can anybody tel how to get all content? thanks you

The songs that you downloaded on the iPad can be transferred to the computer when you sync with iTunes. For the music from your cousins computer - if they were purchased with his Apple ID - you can't sync them to your iTunes account.

But still I can not update my apps. I have many of red notifications on iPhone and iPad Air. What should I do? Thank you in advance.

    1. It is never a good idea to include personal info like your email address or Apple ID in a post on an open forum.
    2. The email you received DOES NOT say your Apple ID cannot be used to unlock this iPad. The email informs you that your Apple ID was used to unlock an iPad. Fortunately the iPad is yours. The message confirms that. If your Apple ID was used to unlock an iPad that was not yours your would then know to change your password. Since the iPad is yours you do not need to change your password.
    Is your iPad working?

  • How can I display all content (graphics)

On Skynet (United airlines employee website), when I try to look at the "seat selection" window, it displayes only numbers, it does not display a graphic of the cabin (seats). How can I display all content?

You can see that it is a font issue by the appearance of the little boxes with the hex code of the characters that Firefox displays when there is no font that covers this Unicode range. You might see a different character in case you would have a font that maps this font.

  • I accidentally backed up my new iphone to my moms icloud account she's currently using. If i erase all content does it erase everything on her phone also? or just off the phone im using

So i just bought a new iphone and was trying to back it up onto my computer. I accidentally backed it up onto my moms icloud account that she is currently using. If i erase all content and settings will it delete everything in general or just off MY iphone that im currently using? I just need to reverse it but i don't want to delete all of her data, etc.

    Hi brifuhrman,
Go to Settings>iCloud and scroll down to the bottom of the screen. Click on Delete Account and type in your Mom's iCloud password when it asks. Follow the prompts to finish deleting the iCloud account from your phone.
Once you have deleted that iCloud account from your phone, see if the things that you no longer want on your device are gone. If they are, then sign on to iCloud with your own iCloud ID and you will be ready to go.
If there are still things you need deleted from your device then start from scratch by doing a Reset All Content and Settings.
    Cheers,

  • How can I change the apple ID on my iPhone to clear all contents and installation?

I still have my iPhone 4s, Which I stopped using when the screen died. I bought a new iPhone 5s. Since, I've changed my Apple ID main e-mail address.
Today I had the screen of the old 4s fixed. Now I want to clear all contents and installation so that I can sell it.
Problem is, that it keeps asking me to verify my Apple ID with my old e-mail address, which obviously doesn't work.
I've allready changed the Apple ID e-mail address in the Apple-ID area in settings. But this doesn't help.
Does anyone know the way out of this?!?
    Thanks!
