Centering a table in updated pages and highlighting

I recently updated pages and cannot figure out how to center a table? Any suggestions? Using the circle in the upper left hand corner does not seem to work as suggested. Also wondering how to highlight. I see highlight under insert but that is only to highlight while working on the text and does not print out.

To get it to move with the text and follow what Peter has described, I believe that Object Placement needs to be set to Move with Text, which sets Text Wrap to Inline with Text.
By clicking to the right of the table, you're selecting the line the table is on. You can then set the text alignment to center and the table will move with the text.

Cannot update Pages (and some other apps)

I go to the app store. I log into my account. I click the "purchased" tab. Pages is on my list of purchased items. I click the "update" button..... it then tells me " You have updates available for other accounts" and "To update this applications, sign in to the account you used to purchase it". I have only one account, and have only used that one account to make purchases. Same thing happens when I try to update through "updates" and other ways. If i didn't buy it on that account, why would it be showing as purchased on that account? Makes no sense to me.
I got Mountain Lion for one reason only. So my Pages and Numbers would be on iCloud for my iPad and iPhone to see. And that is the one feature I can't use until I am able to update Pages and Numbers........
Any ideas?

Did some more searching.... Turns out you have to trash the apps and redownload...... worked perfect!

Update to the current release, which is Lightroom 5.7.1. You can do this from the Lightroom help menu and choosing updates.

Java hijacks the flash update page and will not let me update flash

when I use the update page for flash, it quickly passes from that page to the update page for java.com. I am unable to update flash, or even visit the update checker page.

I am unable to uodate Pages and Numbers sice I changed my Apple ID, because I forgot my password and other security information. How I do I now update these applications. The system is asking for my Old Apple ID.
Also i am unable to activitate icloud. I did not receive a verication email. How can this issue be addressed?

Just updated pages and I can't open a document in my mac

I was working a document in pages yesterday and last night the system ask me to do an update of pages which I did. Now when I try to open the document it tells me I have to download and pay for a new pages version. Funny thing is that pages opens all of my other old files.

Open Pages, then pull down File > Open. Navigate to the document, select it and click Open.

Can't update pages and keynote: "this update is not avaiable to my apple ID"

I've just bought a Mac Book Air 13'' 4GB and I've just updated it to the Yosemite. But when I try to uptade my keynote, numbers or Pages to the newest version, it says it is not avaiable for my apple ID since the app has been bought by a different user or the app has been canceled or something. What is happening? Can anyone help me?

Please test after each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes. Keep in mind that no one here represents Apple or can help with customer-service issues.
Step 1
A purchased app can only be updated by signing in to the App Store with the same Apple ID that was originally used to buy it. There's no way around that limitation, which also applies to free apps. If you can't sign in with the buyer's ID, delete the app and reinstall it. You'll have to pay for it again, if applicable.
Step 2
If you get the alert when trying to update a bundled iLife app, select the Purchases page in the App Store and locate the app in your purchase history. If there's a button marked ACCEPT on the right, click it.
If you have a used Mac, the bundled apps were linked to the original owner's Apple ID and can't be transferred to you. Reportedly, customer service has issued redemption codes to some second owners who asked, but it's not guaranteed.
Step 3
If you're trying to update iLife or iWork apps that were installed from a purchased DVD, or if you have a refurbished Mac bought directly from Apple, contact App Store customer service for a redemption code. You may be asked for the part number of the DVD.
Step 4
From the App Store menu bar, select

Enter your Apple ID password at the prompt. At the lower right corner of the window that opens, click the Reset button. Close the window.
Step 5
According to a report, the error can result from changing the language setting of your Apple ID account. I can't confirm.

I updated Pages, and I can't get the "What's New in Pages" splash screen to go away.

Just close the app and relaunch it or close the app and reboot if closing alone doesn't work,
Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the Pages app and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.

Roughly translated, that's "The update is not available with this Apple ID."
My guess would be that either the application was purchased with a different Apple ID, or from the Apple Store of a different country.

I plugged my iPhone 4s into my macbook air and it asked me if I wanted to update to the latest iOS update and when I did, it stayed on the black update page for a few hours now and it is not turning on. How do I get my phone to restore?

If you're in recovery mode, all data is ALREADY lost. You've no choice but to restore.

Custom Content Update Page

Hi Everyone,
My goal is to generate a custom content update page, and to control the visual structure of the page:
some fields will be read-only and placed in a table to save space,
some fields will be editable and placed in a table,
some fields will be hidden,
and some fields will be editable in a single line.
What would be the best approach for this?
A custom service and template?
An hcst file like hcst-checkin.hcst from Bex's book?

Profiles/Rules still play a part in this equation.
When you create a rule, you add a field to it. When you add the field you are presented with a setup screen that starts with selecting Edit/Info/Hidden, etc. On that screen is the ability to specify an include used to build that "field row" instead of the typical label and text box or label and drop down approach.
Use this method to allow yourself to even present fields in different formats for different profiles.
We've done fields that present "related content" as a list of content id's, and when you click the various content id's we show a thumbnail next to the box to remind users of what they've related/attached to this content.
For the really, really radical you probably are looking at HCST and a component.

I Can't pages and keynote in my ipad 1 generation WHY ????????????

i was trying to update pages and keynote in my ipad 1 generation and it say that is not compatible so i erased them and try to install them again and it say the same thing ? Is that because i havent update to the new ios5 or is not compatible anymore with ipad 1 - ? can someone help me please

Try reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
Note: Data will not be affected but settings for Wi-Fi, FaceTime, Message, Home Sharing, Wall Paper, Sound etc will be reset
