jrun_home/servers/cf_instance/jrun_home/servers/lib for every cold
fusion instance
4. Restart Jrun and all Cold Fusion Instances

Hi,
Check CF java logs around the time frame just before CF become unresponsive. CFMX7\runtime\logs\OUT and EVENT log.
Perhaps JVM settings would be interesting?

  • Hotfix application problems

I'm running Cold Fusion 9.01 and tried patching the system with the latest patch
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/890/cpsid_89094.html
I ran the jar update without any problems and then proceeded to update the various other files as directed.  I restarted CF.  I couldn't get into the admin screens anymore (server 500 error) and although most pages on the website worked, anything with a form that had required fields that should have throw a user message, generated a server 500 error.
I restored the Cold Fusion directory as well as the IE directories for CF and restarted the server.  It is now running again, but if I go in to CF admin it shows the update level as hf901-00001.jar
So now the question is... is that .jar file actually still applied someplace and I missed something in my efforts to bring the system back to pre-update state?
Second question: How important is this patch in a non-shared environment?
Third question: is there any support to getting these patches working?

    Charlie,
Thanks for the reply.  Yes, you are correct, the patch is in the cf\lib\updates directory as I just did a restore on top of the cf directory (with the exception of the databases).
I may have made an error in the update, after all we are all human, but I generally don't have an issue running updates and I've been dealing with CF since version 1.  I know I added files to and did not delete files from any of the directories.
I have a simple setup here: windows server with one instance of cf.
On the off chance that I had a brain fart while doing this the first time around, I'm willing to give it another go.  The next question becomes, should I delete the file in the cf'\lib\updates directory and go through the admin screen to re-apply, or does all the admin screen do is copy it to that updates directory?
If this doesn't work, then obviously I'll be looking for more help.  After I did the patching the last time, even the admin site wouldn't open.

  • Why can't I download the latest CS6 Illustrator Hotfix with AAMEE?

I tell Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition to Package the latest updates for CS6 Illustrator and what I get is 16.0.3 when the latest update is 16.0.5. I have found the update on Adobe's web site as stand alone exe but it will not install on my installation I'm assuming because I created the original Illustrator Installer package with AAMEE. Why can't AAMEE see the 16.0.5 hotfix?

Problem solved, The latest hot fix was not a regular update. You have to download the exe form Adobe's websight and follow their instructions to install. you can't just double click the exe. It is a copy and replace the file in the \Support Files\Contents\Windows folder. It is important to make sure you are at the latest version before attempting the update. I trashed my first attempt and had to reinstall. Hope this helps.

  • MSI Big Bang. MSI LiveUpdate failed.

I'm doing a review for one of the hardwares by MSI. And while I was doing it halfway, the card keep crashing which I believe is driver issues. But even after updating to the latest driver, 10.12a hotfix, the problem still persist. So I asked around what should I do and most of the answers I received is "update your BIOS".
Okay, so I take heed of their advice and updated my BIOS to 1.4 using MSI Live Update 4. stupid me! And after using that tool to update it, my computer is stuck at the Windows "Welcome" screen, and the whole screen turn blue after that. So I tried to flash the old BIOS @ M-Flash, I selected "BIOS Update" and then I continued to "Save and Exit". And it restarts again and I hit "DEL" to go back to the BIOS. Guess what? the instead of "BIOS Update", it's "Disabled". I tried clearing CMOS and everything, but it still fails. Now I can't even flash the old BIOS.
it's a hassle to RMA stuff, I'm sure you guys understand right?  :-X
    here is my specs.
    i7-870
    MSI Big Bang Fuzion
    Kingston Value RAM 2X2GB
    MSI HD6870
    MSI HD6850 Cyclone Power Edition
    Samsung SpinPoint F3
    Seasonic X-750W

I am not talking about M-Flash.
    Please do this:
    1. Prepare USB Flash Drive for booting DOS (do that on a second computer that has Windows on it):
    - Dowload the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool and the DOS-Files.rar archive which I am attaching to this reply
    - Install the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool and extract the DOS-Files from the DOS-Files.rar archive to a folder of your choice
    - Start the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool , select your USB Flash Drive, set the File System to FAT32, mark the Create a DOS startup disk option and then point the tool to the folder which contains the DOS Files you extracted.
    - Click "Start" and let the tool prepare your USB Flash Drive
    - your USB Flash Drive is now bootable
    2. Copy BIOS File and Flasher to the prepared Flash Drive:
    - Download the v1.4 BIG Bang Fuzion BIOS Archive via this link: http://download1.msi.com/files/downloads/bos_exe/7582v14.zip
    - Extract the BIOS File (A7582IMS.140) and the Flasher (AFUD4310.EXE) from the downloaded archive and copy both files to the prepared USB Flash Drive
    3. Boot from the prepared USB Flash Drive:
    - unplug ALL(!) hard drives, optical drives, floppy drives, card readers etc. from your system (so that the prepared USB Flash Drive will be the ONLY(!) drive attached to it
    - when you start the system it has no other choice than to boot from the USB Flash Drive after you press F2 when you get the CMOS Checksum error
    - you should then reach the DOS Command Prompt
    4. Flashing the BIOS from the DOS Command Prompt:
    - simply enter AFUD4310 A7582IMS.140 /P /B /N /C
    - ... and wait until the flash procedure finishes
    - once the flash procedure is done, turn off your system, unplug your PSU from A/C power and >>Clear CMOS<< again
    - press F1 to enter BIOS Setup and load "Optimized Defaults" --> then Save & Exit and see if the problem is gone or not
Please only use one(!) memory module in the first black slot when you do this procedure!

  • VDS fails to launch provider {CA7DE14F-5BC8-48FD-93DE-A19527B0459E}. Error code: 80072498@0200000C ( Not able to open disk management )

    Hi,
This is happening on a Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1  server.  When we try to open Disk Management it would stay there  with a message " connecting to virtual disk service "  and after a while the message changes to " Unable
to connect to Virtual disk service ".
The disk management view stays blank with no drives shown in it.  And the following error is registered in System event log --  " VDS fails to launch provider {CA7DE14F-5BC8-48FD-93DE-A19527B0459E}. Error code: 80072498@0200000C "
The VDisk service is set to manual and stopped as it is supposed to be.
An application called  " PI System " is installed on the server.  We noticed that if we stop the " PI Application services " and reboot the server the disk management opens up fine.   Has any one faced this or a similar
situation.  Thanks in advance for the help :)

    Hi VijayKPV,
Lets start with updating the drivers and confirm you have the latest VDS patch updated from the link.
You cannot cancel a shrink operation on a volume in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2615327
If after install above hotfix the problem still exist I suggest you ask your PI system software vendor for the further help.
I’m glad to be of help to you!

  • Date picker is not working in IE9 for sharepoint 2010 appliation pages

    Hi,
Date picker not working  in IE9 for sharepoint 2010 appliation pages. We have enabled custom master page.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
For this issue, you can add the following line of code into the pickerdialog.master which lays in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS
    <meta http-equiv=”x-ua-compatible” content=”IE=8”>
Or we can use the JavaScript code provided in this blog which would also do the trick:

  • Yogapad 13 hot fix issues (sorry I know its common)

    Hi all,
Sorry if you are staring to get sick of these posts as I know they have cropped up a great deal.
I opened up my yogapad13 this evening already knowing that I was going to have to run the hotfix, no problem I thought. I was actually quite impressed it was out there. However as others have stated its has not worked and it brought up a message saying the partitions had already been altered.
I did run it as admin, then  after that failed I followed these steps:
    STEPS:
    1. Download and run the patch "lenrepv1.exe"
    2. After it fails, you should have a file "LenRep_v1.cmd" in the same folder
     3. Edit the LenRep_V1.cmd file (right click | edit)
         b. Find the two lines that have SYSTEM_DRV and change "SYSTEM_DRV" to "SYSTEM"
         c. Save the file (File | Save)
    6. Run the new script (Right click | Run as admin)
    Same message.
Can anyone confirm how mych space they has free after a successfull hot fix as I thought that being relatively new I was not sure I would need to run the fix. I currently have:
    100gb Win8
    4gb lenovo recovery
    11gb healthy recovery
Is this what is observed after the tool normally? I though it was low as due to windows it means that there is only about 65gb free on the C drive.
Sorry if I am missing something and thank you for your time.
    Lalande

This is great...  I've now uninstalled SBO 8.8 and reinstalled SBO 2007A up to SP01 PL09 and am able to develop/test my add-on again.
Now when I try to see if I can upgrade to SBO 8.8 Hot Fix PL07, the full PL05 install has check marks instead of check boxes for Server Tools, SBO Server, Client and SDK; basically everything I need to upgrade.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • Apple Cinema Display Dimming On Bootcamp Startup (found a fix!)

Hey guys I recently bought an Apple 27 inch Cinema Display to go along with my 15 inch Macbook Pro. Prior to purchasing the display I had installed Windows 7 Professional on my Macbook and used bootcamp to play games etc. I recently had to delete my bootcamp partition and reinstall it (ran out of space and didn't want to deal with winclone/making an image of my system). Everything went perfectly fine except the cinema display would always dim on startup and there was no way to adjust the brightness.
I talked to Applecare multiple times and they came up with zero solutions, but I found a fix myself. If you go into MSCONFIG, while in Windows 7, and turn off bootcamp services from starting at the launch of Windows 7 it doesn't dim the screen and everything works completely fine. I'm making this post to show people how to easily fix this problem and so Apple can fix whatever is making the bootcamp services dim the brightness of the cinema displays.
The problem is indeed 100% caused by the bootcamp services. If I start the computer without bootcamp services running there are no brightness issues. As soon as you open bootcamp services it instantly dims the screen and have to go back to MacOSX to fix the brightness.
Anyone have a clue why bootcamp services wouild do such a thing?
Thanks for your time, I hope this helps some people and I really hope apple looks into this problem.
P.S. Please discuss this topic and add any other ideas on hotfixing this problem.
ADDITIONAL INFO: I am using Windows 7 Professional 64x.

I traced the problem to hardware - I'm running an older Apple ADC 23" Digital Cinema display, so use and ADC to DVI adapter  - because of this there is a USB "pigtail"  which carries the USB from the rear ports on the monitor into the PC. This works fine in MacOS, but boot into Windows (and I tried XP running NOT in BootCamp and Windows 7 running IN BootCamp) and it seems to hunt and search for this "generic hub" (the USBs in the monitor) and upon not finding them appears to send some kind of signal to that hub, disengaging it or whatever, and dimming the screen. In Windows XP this happens right after the login screen appears, but in Windows 7 it won't happen until AFTER you log in (always thinking "Gee! Maybe this.... time....  ah.... ^%$#@!").
I tested my theory by using WinADC (the add on software that adds brightness controls for Apple ADC monitors to Windows XP - only 32 bit btw) on the XP machine - every time I started up WITHOUT that extra USB connection I was fine. When I started up with it... DIM happened. Then I tried starting it up without it plugged in.... FINE... then plugged it in AFTER full startup and loing... DIM happened. Plugging and unplugging it in in Windows would sometimes re-reveal the added extension for brightness (WinADC) so you could see how the USB was being searched not just for simple connections but for the brightness CONTROLS that are built into the monitors hub it seems.
So, I'm going to try your suggestion here, turning off Boot Camp services, but, for others if that doesn't work: Start up in mac OS, set your brightness, then UNPLUG any additional USB that is being run into the monitor and startup in PC - should be good to go.

  • K8N SLI-F - Explorer.exe Crashes

I've been fighting a really anoying problem for a couple of months now that I'm hoping to find some help with.
    I have the following.
    MSI K8N SLI-F
    MSI RX300HM-T128
    AMD A64 3000+
2 - 1GB PC3200 Super Talent Memory Modules running in dual channel mode
    WD1200JS
    Sparkle Power 400W Power Supply
    Phillips DVD-ROM
    Sony 16x DVD-RW
Windows XP Pro SP2 - with all the hotfixes
The problem that I am experiencing is that Explorer.exe seems to crash if I leave the computer sit for any length of time. When I start the machine up it runs perfectly. If I use the computer and then leave it alone for about an hour and then come back to it, it runs extremely poor. For example if I try to load Firefox it will take about 3 minutes to load and if I try to look at my computer I will get an error message that explorer.exe has crashed. If I restart the machine it will go back to running just fine, until I let it sit idle for about an hour. I don't have anything running in the system tray other than NAV, and have practically no software installed other than Firefox, Thunderbird, Microsoft Office, and Nero 7.
I have re-installed Windows about 5 times and even on a completely fresh install I have the same issues. I am using the newest nForce drivers and ATI Catalyst drivers, and I have also tried using the Realtec audio drivers rather than the audio drivers the nForce package installs. I also have gone as far as trying to run older versions of the ATI Catalyst drivers to see if that helps. I'm not overclocking and I have upgraded the BIOS to version 1.3.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing the instability on this system?

Please... Sparkle is an A List power supply manufacturer, not to mention this system is far from requiring much in the power department, not much in terms of demanding hardware. I'm running an RX300 for video for God's sake. Shall I install the Enermax 485W that I have sitting under my desk, because I'm pretty sure it won't change a thing.

  • Client for NFS fails to restart - Event ID: 16387 - Windows(R) failed a request to initialize the Network File System (NFS) redirector

I have seen this issue out there in a few threads but a definitive solution has not been posted by Microsoft that I can find. So here is the simple answer. The long answer why this doesn't work on a default install of MSNFS is going to have to come from
Microsoft and should be in the form of a hotfix.
    Problem Description
On boot, Client for NFS starts and remains running. If an attempt is made to restart the service from the MMC or nfsadmin, an error occurs and nfsclnt fails to start.
    Event log error:

      Client for NFS cannot start.
Windows may be low on system resources.  Try increasing available system resources by closing programs, then start Client for NFS manually.
    ==================================================================
PROBLEM CAUSED BY: When shutting down Client for NFS using the Services GUI, Client for NFS Redirector is not shut down
SOLUTION: Stop NFS Redirector - 'sc stop NfsRdr' - Then start NFS client service - 'nfsadmin start client'
Use 'nfsadmin client stop' to correctly shut down both the Client for NFS service and the Client for NFS Redirector.
'Network File System (NFS) redirector' is actually "Client for NFS Redirector" and not listed as a service even though "Client for NFS" requires it.
Using 'sc', details on the hidden NfsRdr system component can be queried and then used to stop the redirector so that nfsclnt.exe can reload it on start up using the Services GUI.

  • Symlinking of libraries in general?

    Hello,
this is not based on an acutal problem, I seek guidance on that topic in general.
Let's assume program foo is built against library libbar-x.y. You upgrade (for whatever reason) library libbar-x.y to library libbar-x.z. Now the "dependency" is broken hence program foo is unable to run, until it is upgraded to a version built against library libbar-x.z.
Many people link the libraries (ln -s libbar-x.z libbar-x.y) to "hotfix" the problem (until the new version of foo is available).
I know, that there is no guarantor that this will work as it depends highly on the changes made to the library. However sometimes it "just works".
Actually I've done this myself a few times and afterwards deleted the symlink.
    But...
Given that the library has influence on the acutal result of a program, it comes to my mind that there might be a chance that something goes terribly wrong while running this program.
In most of this cases, the program would just crash and that's it.
But let's assume, the program runs superficially as intendend and does not produce errors like hell, the result of the programm (a file, datastream or whatever) is some kind of corrupted.
So,,,,the corrupted data could cause serious damage to the entire system (especially if those data are used from other programs... some kind of error propagation).
    Therefore my question:
What libs should never ever be symlinked (in that way)?
Do have essential parts of the system (glibc, kernel, filesystem related stuff and so on) some kind of protection against this potential cause of failure? (If this is possible at all)
Is jaunty symlinking really like playing with fire or am I just too worried?
Hope someone has wise words on that
    Best regards

oliwer wrote:That kind of problem often happens with proprietary apps that you can't recompile. So symlinking (or even funnier: renaming) is the only way.
It is not the only way...  build the library version you need and install it along side the current version in the Arch repos.  You will need to removing lots of conflicting files but it can be done fairly easily in most cases.

    Hi everyone!
    Tried installing

got the same problem this mostly happens if you re install the SCCM R2 due to any reason and you previously installed these Hot fixes too. IF you focus on the wizard deeply you got this message prior to error page Regard less of KB2910552 obvs on your
screen you will see KB2905002. So the solution is
1.Go to your "control panel" on your Primary site server
    2. Open "Program and Features"
    3. Click oon "View installed Updates" on left pane.
    4.  Scroll down to the installed KBs of "System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager"
    5. Uninstall you desired KB
    6. Try to install again by setup. Hope this time you will not get the error message.

  • Problems distributing content to DP's after KB2910552 hotfix

I’m having a major problem sending packages/applications to distribution points after installing the KB2910552 hotfix

    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SMS\DP\ContentLibUsableDrives
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SMS\DP\UsablePackageShareDrives
...and they show V as the drive letter.
Again, I have no idea why??? In Admin Console, the DP role for that server has "E" for the drive.
Will removing and re-adding the DP role and re-adding it with the same drive letters resolve the issues? I have major concerns though...
    1) SCCM01 is our CAS, will it remove everything we have distributed to it?
    2) Will we have to re-redistribute all the packages, applications…etc, to that DP again?
I would really appreciate any help with this. I've already spent 6 hours trying to resolve this. THANK YOU!

I apologize for the confusion. I'm kind of "taking over" after this was already in place by someone else. I'm jumping in the fire, per-say. Maybe it wasn't set up correctly from the beginning. We're still fairly new to this beast.
Here's a screen cap of our servers:
I can tell you this...All three have the Distribution Point site system role. SCCM01 has "E" as the drive. Content Library and Package Share Library are "1". I do notice that the SCCMContentLib folder doesn't exist on the E drive.
I went ahead and just removed the DP site system role from SCCM01 and recreated it according to how it was set up originally. I still get the same errors in the distmgr.log. I cannot figure out why it keeps referencing V$. There is no V drive on the SCCM01
    server.

  • Problem with distributing hotfix

    Hello to everybody!!
    have a problem with distributing packets *.msu(hotfix).  I run it with command  wusa.exe  nameofhotfix.msu /quiet /norestart
And it is not install in computers. I give an error
The program for advertisement "SRV2000D" failed ("SRV00014" - "Windows6.1-KB2459530"). A failure exit code of -2145124329 was returned. User context: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Possible cause: Systems Management Server (SMS) determines
status for each program it executes. If SMS cannot find or correlate any installation status Management Information Format (MIF) files for the program, it uses the program's exit code to determine status. An exit code of -2145124329 is considered a failure.
Solution: For more information on the exit code, refer to the documentation for the program you are distributing.
I search with error code -2145124329  in internet. But cannt find any usefull information
how to solve this problem. Please help

    Hi,
    to analyse further;
Run CALC.exe, place CALC into "Programmer" mode (View, Programmer)
Set CALC.exe into "Dec" mode (Decimal)
    Paste the decimal value: -2145124329
Click "Hex" (the conveted result is shown: FFFFFFFF80240017)
    Open cmtrace tool
Press CTRL+L (open error lookup utility)
Paste converted Hex value (remove the leading FFFFFFFF)
Click "Lookup" button (error lookup result is displayed)
Operation was not performed because there are no applicable updates.
    Source: Windows Update Agent
    This all suggests that the update file you are trying to apply, is not needed/is not applicable to the computer under examination. There are various possible reasons for this outcome;
    a) the update has previously been applied
    b) the underlying product does not exist on this machine, so that patch cannot be applied
    c) a pre-requisite update is missing
    d) the patch cannot be applied, as the OS version or architecture is wrong/mismatched
    e) probably more, but these are the reasons I have observed so far.
You should check or test, either before attempting to apply this patch, or, check for this resultcode, and take the desired action (fail, or, ignore, or send an alert,or whatever you wish to see happen)
