Cgmap.dat - url format of calling a web enabled cgi report

Hi,
I am running Oracle Reports on OAS 4.0.8.1 and Developer/2000 6.x Report Server. I am new to this web enabled reporting, so it's probably trivial, but:
How should a link for my report look like, when I am running it with URL mapping.
The CGI URL looks like this:
http://ept_peti/cgi-bin/rwcgi60.exe?server=ptrep&report=probarep.rdf&userid=test%2Ftest%40test&destype=cache&desformat=html
and it runs fine. I have in my cgimap.dat file the following line:
dodo: report=probarep.rdf userid=test/test@test destype=cache desformat=html
The question is, how does the url like if I would like to run it with url mapping.

Yes, you are right. User needs to be authenticated before running the reports.
However, one way is to fill the authentication form, which our customer would not prefer to use.
So, the next method is put the authentication details as part of the url parameter. However this can been seen by the rest of the people and we don't want end user to know about the database username and password.
So, we put the authentication information in the a file in NT called rep60.dat
Now the user can run the report using url that does not contains authentication information.
But the thing is if any of the unauthorise user came across to remember the url, he can just run it in browser without any authentication as it has been put in the file as auto authentication.
In this case, is there any way we can enforce the security?

We would like to display SAP transactions in the portal, however they are from the SAP APO sytem and require the the WinGUI setting as they contain graphics that the ITS cannot interpret. WinGUI does not use the ITS. An iView or External Service can be created to display the required transactions using the SAPApplication.Transaction but as the screens are made up of several windows we would like them to open up full screen. The standard iView can open in a new screen but the window opens in a different place depending on the user's internet settings. To solve this a java iView could be written to dictate the starting point and size of the window but I am having trouble with the URL of the transaction. Using WebGUI the following format can be used to call a transaction:
<System.Access.ITS.Protocol>://<System.Access.ITS.HostName><System.Access.ITS.Path>/webgui/!?transaction=<SAP_Dynp_AutoStart%><SAP_TCode>%20<SAP_Dynp_Params%>&client=<System.Client>&language=<Request.Language>&accessibility=<User.Accessibility>
Does anyone know the format of the URL to call a transaction using wingui (it doesn't work to substitute wingui for webgui in the format above)?

How to make Service call document web enabled

A technician would be accessing Service call form through the web browser over the internet. He would be mentioning the CALLID and will be entering the user defined fields that are dispatch date, technician out date and time to name a few from the web browser through a web page, which should get populated into SAP Business One database. We are going for SAP Business One 2007B version with SQL server 2005 database. I went through the web tools web services and I could not find a web service related to service module. Can you please advise me how to go about with this scenario?

What is the proper URL format to call a subpage rather than the main page?
I know that the format for a page is
http://<host:port>/pls/<DAD>/url/page/<pagename>, but how do you call a subpage?
Also, if this type of information is documented, where should I look for that documentation?

Hi Ana,
a window inbound plug can have parameters.
These parameters are automatically fished out of the URL by the framework.
So your inbound plug handler method has easy access to the parameters.
URL
http://<host>:port/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/<your application>?param1=xyz&param2=abc
The application is configured to call an inbound interface(window) and plug.
The plug can be declared with parameters.
Double click on window inbound plug and add your parameters.
The parameters are made available by framework if present in Launch URL.
You can also call an application that has parameters directly entered on the parameters tab.
ie Parameters can be part of the application launch.

Hi,
Lot of our clients are requesting us to give them information regarding if we are web-based or web-enabled. My question is
1. If I am using oracle forms/reports/discoverer 10g and running it over the web with Oracle application server is that web-based or web-enabled
2. What is the difference between web-based and web-enabled
3. Is speed a factor?

Hi,
I don't see a real diference. Web enabled would be appropriate to Forms and Reports 6i that could run on client-server and web.
Now that they are all web only, the distinction is gone and they are web based (if not you will continue calling everything "web enabled" that isn't built with J2EE, PHP etc.)

Use Reports 3.0 or higher and make sure to use paramform=HTML
then it will display parameter form on web.

Problem while calling a web service in BOBJ Data services

Hello Experts,
I am trying to call a web service in bobj data services. A real time job has been scheduled and published as a web service. I want to consume this service in web dynpro java.
I tried both the methods the adaptive web services and depricated version. I also tried calling the url directly and with the metadata and execution destinations.
No matter what I do, I keep getting the following error.
Exception on execution of web service with WSDL URL 'http://XXXXX:28080/DataServices/servlet/webservices?ver=2.0&wsdl' with operation 'SERVICE_<NAME>' in interface 'Real-time_Services'
The call never reaches data services system. If I try to call the service from soapUI (web service testing tool) it works fine.
I am using SAP NW 7.0 SP22 .
Here is my code in dynpro to call the service.

do you use the wizard to generate code?
usually there is catch clause for this line of code

Calling a web service with URL to Insert into DB Web service

Does any one have an idea how I can call a web service using a URL to insert records into an Oracle DB table.
Something like this :

I need to call it outside of Oracle Apex.

from your screenshot it seems that you actually try to call the service in your Data Source Expression field. You should set path to the WSDL file here actually - this could be either URL to SAP or to filesystem, as Anton suggested (this could be faster). Have you created endpoint binding for your service in transaction SOAMANAGER? If yes, then simply download the corresponding WSDL with binding or copy the URL which leads to it. But also test whether you are able to retrieve the WSDL without logging into SAP (close all browser windows and then open a new one otherwise session ID from other browser windows can be reused).
If you have to give username and password, then setup anonymous alias in transaction SICF, for example.

The best solution is to define a character field of length 10. Then WRITE the date to the BDC_DATE and then use this variable when passing to BDC.
data: bdc_date(10) type c.
write sy-datum to bdc_Date.

How to call COPY web service from sharepoint in SAP

Hello Experts,
I want to call COPY web service from SharePoint in SAP web dynpro / JAVA application.
However, when I try to connect to web service and download wsdl using   http:// <hostname:port>/_vti_bin/copy.asmx?wsdl
it results in Unauthorized error and doesnt complete the setup. Detail error is :
Error occurred while downloading WSIL file. Error message: Deserializing xml stream http:// <hostname:port>/_vti_bin/copy.asmx?wsdl

Issue in calling a web service from Apps instance

I have created a procedure to call a function which gives response by calling a web service URL.
Requirement is,
While calling this procedure , the response data has been stored in the table. This is working fine in the back end.
Now , i call the same through concurrenet program . It is also getting stored but partially.. The exact data is missing ..other default tags are displayed in the column.
