Change encoder output count

Hi All,
Anyone know how to change the encoder count for an PCIe-8255R on the fly in C++?
The following call sets up the output pulse at 40 encoder ticks after the trigger input and works fine.
RetVal = imaqIOPulseCreate(m_id,
   IMAQIO_TIMEBASE_ENCODER_TICKS, 40, //Encoder count   IMAQIO_TIMEBASE_MICROSECONDS, 100, //Pulse width   IMAQIO_SIGNAL_ISO_IN, 8, IMAQIO_POLARITY_HIGH_TRUE, //Trigger from TTL8   IMAQIO_SIGNAL_TTL_OUT, 2, IMAQIO_POLARITY_HIGH_TRUE, //output on TTL2   IMAQIO_PULSE_MODE_SINGLE_REARM, &pulseID2); //single shot, requires trigger
What I need to do is to change the IMAQIO_TIMEBASE_ENCODER_TICKS value within my program WITHOUT stopping the Pulse Train.
E.G.
This encoder output fires at 40 on this rotation, then the next at 45 then 50...
The imaqIOSetAttribute function in the help says that it's not implimented so I can't use that. Any other way of doing this??
Thanks in advance,
DJack

Hi DJack,
I have looked into this for you and unfortunately our C API is not as flexible as our LabVIEW API (since it's possible to achieve this in there, I assumed that might be the case in C as well). There is no
way to dynamically change the pulse properties. If you call the Pulse
Create function again, it will actually stop the pulse and you will
have to call start again. So you don't, necessarily, have to call the dispose function,
but will still need to call the start function to set it back up and get it ready. Hopefully, that is much faster. I apologize for the bad news and wish you luck with your application. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you out with.

  • How do I use daqmx to get encoder direction/count on E-series board?

    Hardware:
    PCI-6014
    Labview 7.1
    I have a linear actuator and wish to get distance/direction.  The
    motor has a quad encoder with phase A and B only.  I connected the
    lines according the the E-series, PFI-8 and PFI-6, and ground to
    digital ground. I then attempted to design a control with daqmx but
    failed.  I have tried the daqmx examples but none were attempting
    a reverse in direction.  Most examples given for direction change
    are for traditional daq control; i cant make a correlation on what to
    use to substite traditional daq with daqmx vi's.
    2 questions:
    How do I use daqmx to get encoder direction/count on E-series board?
    Are there low pass filter vi's recommended for each phase connection to stabilize data?
    Thanks,
    Wayne Hilburn

    Hello Wayne,
    Take a look at the Count Digital Events.vi shipping example.  You can find this in LabVIEW by selecting Help >> Find Examples... then browsing to Hardware Input and Output >> DAQmx >> Counter Measurements >> Count Digital Events.
    If you set the "Count Direction" control to "Externally Controlled", you will be able to count up and down depending on which direction you rotate your encoder.  Make sure you wire Phase A to Ctr0 Source and Phase B to P0.6.  P0.6 is the up/down line for counter 0.
    I hope this helps.  Please let me know if you have any further questions.

  • Change encoding of input message sent by J2EE Adapter

    Hi all,
    I get a input message with a wrong encoding (Sender SMTP Adapter). Within XML prolog, there's a declaration of UTF-8. Having a look at the message, it's ISO-8859-1 encoded. That mean's I've to do one of the following options:
    a) change encoding declaration in XML prolog to the correct one: ISO-8859-1
    b) reencode the entire message from ISO-8859-1 into UTF-8, so that the message encoding matches the XML prolog
    I've found two possible solutions, but I don't know if they're working:
    1. usage of XMLAnomyzerModule: reading the documentation, it seems to be that I cannot use that module in a sender adapter, right? If I'm wrong: what does the module do? Does it just exchange the encoding declaration in the prolog or does it reencode the message?
    2. running that small XSLT mapping before my own mapping: would it change the encoding declaration from UTF-8 to ISO-8859-1 in the XML prolog?
    <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0"
    xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
    <xsl:output method="xml" encoding="ISO-8859-1"/>
    <xsl:template match="/">
    <xsl:copy-of select="*" />
    </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>

    Hi Stefan,
    thanks for your reply. Unfortunately it's not my application who's sending the wrong message and it's not possible to change it on sender side. I don't know why but it's like that
    So it's exactly like you've mentioned: when using special characters where ISO-8859-1 codepage differs from UTF-8, we've a problem.
    When I understand you correct there's a adapter module TextCodepageConversionBean which changes the encoding, right? Then I could use it to encode the inbound ISO-8859-1 message to UTF-8 (which is declaration in XML prolog).
    Where can I find more information how to use it? Searching SDN I've just found one other thread where the same module is mentioned, but without further hints.

  • Output count of SELECT statement is diff from count(*) of the same query

    Has this ever happened to you?
    I was wondering why some of the items were not appearing in my output. I have this select query:

But when I tried using SE16 or SE16N, I am getting 6 (which is the expected output). When I modify the same SELECT query to return just the output count, I AM getting 6.

    Hello Kyle,
    Thats because when using FOR ALL ENTRIES, it will delete the duplicates if the records selected dont have all the primary keys specified in the select query. In your first select query, the field BUZEI is missing which makes the records unique. Change your first select query as this and try
    SELECT
            bukrs
            gjahr
            hkont
            belnr
            buzei   -------> Add this and check

  • Urgent : Change Encoding type?

    Hi.
    It's urgent
    I wana change encoding type character with capital character.
    For reference, receiver file adapter write header like following... but must be changed large character...
    (not iso, must be changed "ISO")
           <?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1" ?>
       ==> <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1" ?>
    Regards.

    hi,
    I suppose you already have a mapping?
    so you only want to change the result
    to have encoding="ISO-8859-1 right?
    you can use XSLT mapping to map
    your target xml document to xml document with ISO
    this is what you have to use:
    <xsl:output method="xml" encoding="ISO-8859-1"/>
    have a look at my weblog in order to see how you can add sxlt mapping to your adapter (in the modules tab)
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/11/01/xi-xml-node-into-a-string-with-graphical-mapping
    obviously you can also use java or abap mapping
    but XSLT will be the fastest to develop

  • Deadline Notifications - Change Smartform output to simple text

    Hi Gurus,
    SRM 7.0. Deadline notifications are configured for Process Controlled WF and are being generated. However these are generated as Smartform output and when forwarded to Outlook/Lotus Notes email accounts, they come through as a bunch of special characters. Is there any way to generate the notifications as simple text?
    Thanks,
    RM.

    Vipin,
    What encoding settings are you referring to?
    I assume you are referring to the  BAdI - BBP_OUTPUT_CHANGE_SF. I did implement it for changing mail/notification subject. Even that change is not coming through. And I am not  sure which parameter can be set to change the output format.
    I have no issues with the offline approval mail.
    Thanks,
    RM.
    Resolved on my own by debugging. cs_parameters-mail_format should be set to blank (BAdI implementation - BBP_OUTPUT_CHANGE_SF).

  • Right way to change encoding settings

    Hi!
    When I encode footages I have to differet ways to change encoding settings - one is AME's settings panel. Second is Codec options. I'm confused - where must I change settings, must they be the same in both windows, or what's "primary" options window? Please, explain!

    Ok... But in that case, what settings are "primary", have a priority?  Those who are in codec options window or in regular AME settings window?

    Hi All,
    Currently iam trying to modify the Java Concurrent Program (FDExtractAndFormatting) in Batch Payment Process. This Program is generated in text format in 11i APPS. Now we are upgrading to R12.1.3. In R12.1.3 output is coming as PDF format. Here my requirement is how to change the output as text format in R12.1.3 also.

  • Change Build Output Filename for SSIS Project

    I have a Visual Studio 2010 solution (TxMExtractLoad) with two SSIS projects: TxMExtractLoad.Discovery and TxMExtractLoad.Contract1.  The project name (in project properties) is set to the proper two-part name in each project.  However, when I
    do a "Build", the generated .ispac file loses the second part of the project name: both projects build to "TxMExtractLoad.ispac" (in different directories, fortunately).
    I can see where I can change the output *path* for the build, but not the output *filename*.
    Any help, anyone?
    Thanks in advance...

    Came across this post whilst encountering the same issue and thought i would post the solution i discovered
    The ispac will get its name from the Name defined in the project properties minus whatever is following the final name part
    Therefore, your SSIS package of TxMExtractLoad.Discovery will become TxMExtractLoad.ispac
    If you change the name in project properties to something like TxMExtractLoad.Discovery.myProject
    or TxMExtractLoad.Discovery..ispac then when you build it it will build as TxMExtractLoad.Discovery.ispac
    Hope this helps

  • How to change the output directory of .xml files

    Hi,
    There are lots of .xml files generated under
    $ORACLE_AS_HOME/j2ee/home/applications/xmlpserver/xmlpserver/xml.
    (ex:/usb/bipub3/oracle/oc4j_bi/j2ee/home/applications/xmlpserver/xmlpserver/xml).
    I found these files are generated in the following operation;
    1.Log in BI Publisher.
    2.Select the Schedules tab.
    I think they are kind of temp files so we will be able to delete them.
    But I'd like to know how to change the output directory.
    Can we change the above directory to other path?
    Regards.

    Why? As that may invalidate support since you configure/alter the deployment.
    The location is specified in oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\xmlpserver\xmlpserver.war, so you could go into the war file and alter it.

  • Changing audio output device for currently running program

    I'm not sure where to put this question, but all my searching hasn't seemed to find an answer...
    If I have a program running, iTunes, VLC, a game, whatever, and want to change audio output from say Line Out to Headphones, I have to restart the program for the change to take effect. Is this by design/normal or am I missing something somewhere?

    this is actually a quiet significant issue. There is no way in Flash to select the audio output device.
    Today  people have regular speakers and a separate headset. They all use the  speakers for music and the headset for voice. Skype i.e. has the option  to choose audio output device and its really handy, because
    you dont  have to bother to set the default device to the headset everytime you  want to use it.
    If you set the default device to the headset all other apps will send their audio  output to the headset - which is not what you want either.
    So people  really want to leave the default device set to the speakers and not to  the headset.
    Nokia did this for Java
    JRT 2.1 / Nokia UI API updated to version 1.4:
                AudioOutputControl extension for controlling which audio output device, for example the device loudspeaker or earpiece, is used to play back audio
    This really is an issue.
