Change encoding of input message sent by J2EE Adapter

Hi all,
I get a input message with a wrong encoding (Sender SMTP Adapter). Within XML prolog, there's a declaration of UTF-8. Having a look at the message, it's ISO-8859-1 encoded. That mean's I've to do one of the following options:
a) change encoding declaration in XML prolog to the correct one: ISO-8859-1
b) reencode the entire message from ISO-8859-1 into UTF-8, so that the message encoding matches the XML prolog
I've found two possible solutions, but I don't know if they're working:
1. usage of XMLAnomyzerModule: reading the documentation, it seems to be that I cannot use that module in a sender adapter, right? If I'm wrong: what does the module do? Does it just exchange the encoding declaration in the prolog or does it reencode the message?
2. running that small XSLT mapping before my own mapping: would it change the encoding declaration from UTF-8 to ISO-8859-1 in the XML prolog?
<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0"
xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
<xsl:output method="xml" encoding="ISO-8859-1"/>
<xsl:template match="/">
<xsl:copy-of select="*" />
</xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>

Hi Stefan,
thanks for your reply. Unfortunately it's not my application who's sending the wrong message and it's not possible to change it on sender side. I don't know why but it's like that
So it's exactly like you've mentioned: when using special characters where ISO-8859-1 codepage differs from UTF-8, we've a problem.
When I understand you correct there's a adapter module TextCodepageConversionBean which changes the encoding, right? Then I could use it to encode the inbound ISO-8859-1 message to UTF-8 (which is declaration in XML prolog).
Where can I find more information how to use it? Searching SDN I've just found one other thread where the same module is mentioned, but without further hints.

Holger

  • I need to secure SOAP message sent into SOAP adapter, how to?

    Hi guys,
    My scenario uses SOAP and I need to secure this SOAP message sent into SOAP adapter. As I have read in the documentation, HTTPS is possible only on the SOAP receiver adapter. But my is SENDER.
    COuld you help me please, how to solve it? Or post some link? Or, if you have your own approach, to let me know?
    Thanx, Peter

    Hi,
    you can use SSL with the sender adapter. Please see the extract of the SOAP Adapter FAQ (Note #856597) below:
    <b>Q:</b> Can I use SSL for my sender adapter?
    <b>A:</b> Yes. Normally, the SOAP adapter servlet runs on the engines HTTP port. But you can activate the engine's HTTPS port so that this servlet can receive messages sent to the HTTPS port. See the documentation about the J2EE engine's security configuration.
    I am afraid, I haven't yet tried this myself, so you will need to consult the J2EE documentation.

  • Bug with Cyrillic-UTF-8 encoding in Outlook messages sent from iphone

    Some time, during replay or forwarding mails, written in Cyrillic form iPhone3GS (iOS 4.0), iPhone send a format of the message UTF-8 and did not field the charset field.
    In such case most of the windows client(Outlook, The BAT, Firefox) cannot recognize the message encoding automatically. Advanced clients have to use manual setting of the encoding.
    In older iOS in iPhone2G i have't met such problem

    Right click and select Open front panel >> Convert.
    Change the vi as you need. then you can save it as a normal sub-vi.
    If you have Labview 8.6, maybe (i am not sure) you can edit the express vi. Express vis are supported in 8.6

  • Defining input message Type for webservice interface with out input

    Hi all,
    I am configuring a scenario RFC -> XI -> Webservice. My sync webservice doesnot need any input. it genrates a random number which needs to be sent back to the RFC. How can i define an input message data type with out any data? As the interface requires both input and output data types in XI?
    I tried a dummy data type with a single string input and didn't map it. but its not working because of name space issues. i specified a seperate XML name space in Message Type but i get a Target URL as the name space in the request which i provided in the SOAP reciever adapter.
    Any help will be appriciated
    Thanks and best regards,

    Hi
    Can u chk the webservice request using test tools like stylus studio or xml spy and ensure that the same request is going out of XI .
    make sure that you have changed the default xml namesapce in the target MT.

    If you dont want to recieve eachother messages, then the best solution is for one of you to sign out of the apple id in Settings, itunes and appstore, tap on the apple id, tap sign out, then create a new apple id for that person and resign back in to itunes with the new apple id. This will alleviate your problem.

    Up until I installed iOS 6, my friend had no trouble receiving and opening a standard (green) text message sent from my iPhone4. After the new install, his phone receives the message but as a text file that won't open. He hasn't changed anything on his end nor have I changed anything else, so I'm assuming this must be the culprit. Has anyone else had a similar issue? Thank you for any suggestions.

  • Change Encoding in Graphical Mapping

    Hello guys,
    I have an interface like File-> PI 7.1 -> Proxy
    The problem is that some characters are not correct at the proxy, and I have an error when the proxy is executed.
    I have at the sender file adapter the encoding ISO-8859-1, but the problem is that in my Operation mapping, I java a Java code, where I put iso-8859-1, and after a message mapping. After the java mapping the encoding is iso-8859-1, but after the message mapping and when the message arrives at the proxy is UTF-8.
    There is any way to change the encoding during the message mapping or in the Proxy adapter? There is also the possibility to change the encoding at the ABAP code of the proxy?
    Many thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Xavi.

    H Xavi,
    --Unfortunately no because the standard format in PI is utf-8-
    Try this http://www.dataxstream.com/2009/06/pi-message-mapping-editor-hidden-menu/
    Also we cannot use XMLAnonymizer bean here as the receiver adapter is XI adapter

  • How to STOP OS X from automatically changing between language input methods

    I want to know if there is a way in OS X Leopard to stop the system from automatically changing the language input method. I use English and Japanese on my computer, but this would apply to anyone using more than one input method.
    For example, when I click on a Japanese-language file, the system automatically changes input to Kotoeri (the Japanese-language input method). When I then click on an English-language file it usually, but not always, changes back to English input. But I almost never want to TYPE in Japanese. I just need to be able to read Japanese and to cut and paste from Japanese language files. It is very annoying when I start typing in an English-language file and find the input method has been changed to kotoeri without me realizing it—everything comes out in meaningless Japanese. When I want to type in Japanese, I want to manually change to the Japanese input system. That is, I want English to always be the default input method even if I am manipulating Japanese-language files.
    So, I’m wondering if there’s a way to set the computer so that it never AUTOMATICALLY switches between the input methods. I want to be able to switch only manually. In the old days of System 7, 8, and 9, there was a third-party control panel you could get that would do this (I think it was called Stay There!) and I don't remember this being a problem in Tiger or earlier versions of OS X. Is anyone aware of any way to do this in Leopard?
    Thank you!
    Colin

    Well, I do have it set that way, and I can look up there to see where I am, but in the work I do time is critical and I move back and forth between the two languages frequently. It is really a pain and a waste of time to have to look and make a change that should be unnecessary. The problem is not so much that I don't know where I am. It's that I don't want to ever have to think I MIGHT be in anything but English input unless I specifically want to be. In other words, I need to be able to forget about this problem even being a possibility.

  • Any way to present standard text in response to a Lync message sent to a distribution group?

    Our company uses MOC/Lync as a way for employees to engage the Tier 1 Help Desk with questions.  The Tier 1 Help Desk is setup as a distribution list and employees send a MOC message to that distribution list.  When there is a broad system issue,
    the Tier 1 Help Desk typically gets inundated with messages from everyone reporting the same issue.  It would be great during this type of event if any message sent to the Tier 1 distribution list could be intercepted and replied to with an
    automatic "We are aware of a system issue with xyz and are working to resolve it."  This would hopefully let the employee know that IT is aware of the issue and working on it and IT can therefore ignore their message if it is in fact about this
    issue.  Is anyone aware of a way to implement this type of feature?

    Hi,
    I don't think you'll be able to achieve this natively in Lync. The only thing that comes to mind is to define a custom presence state that you could have Tier 1 Help Desk change to in the event of this happening. This would only be a proactive measure though,
    and not reactive in providing an auto response.
    Looks like you'd either need to jump in and create something leveraging the Lync API's yourself, or see if there's an auto-responder / bot plugin out there already that can do this for you.
    I'm not familiar with any myself, but top of a quick google-fu moment pulled up
    http://lyncauto.blogspot.co.uk/
    I must stress I've never used this, but its this type of app that might offer you the functionality you're after. I'm sure others here might be able to recommend something that's proven.
    Kind regards
    Ben

  • How to update the Input message data in OSM

    hi,
    I am using OSM 7.0.2.
    can we update input message data before the orchestration execution.
    I want to add some more order line item to the input xml by calling some external webservice.
    Suppose CRM submits order with 3 order line item. Now once we have that in Input message i want to add some more order line item to this input message.
    I dont want to add processing/adapter layer above OSM that does the updation of the XML.
    Thanks in advance.
    Rutvej

    Hi Rutvej,
    You use Order Data Rule to generate data for the creation view of the orchestration order. The source schema of the Order Data Rule is the schema for the incoming message. The output returns the <_root> portion of the creation view. Note that the Order Template already has the Sales Order (look for "order <XML>") and automatically populated by OSM Core. So, what you are trying to do is not to add/change the Sales Order itself, but to first add the desired enriching data model into Order Template, and then use Order Data Rule to populate those enriching data into the Order Template.
    Example of Order Data Rule:
    declare namespace cso="http://xmlns.oracle.com/communications/sce/dictionary/CentralOMManagedServices-Orchestration/CustomerSalesOrder";
    let $customer := //cso:CustomerAccount
    return
    <_root>
         <OrderHeader>
              <AccountIdentifier>{$customer/cso:AccountID/text()}</AccountIdentifier>
         </OrderHeader>
         <EnrichedOrderItem>
              <Data1>Your enriched data here</Data1>
              <Data2>Your enriched data here</Data2>
         </EnrichedOrderItem>
    </_root>
    Before that, you would need to add the OrderHeader and EnrichedOrderItem into the Order Template.
