Is it possible to post an invoice to a closed WBS

Hi All,
Is it possible to post an invoice to a closed WBS?
In my case, we are able to post the invoice to closed WBS but when we tried to reserve that invoice, system gives error that reversal of invoice is not possible WBS is closed.
Kindly let me know how can we reserve that invoice and also let me know, if its the normal behavior of system to post invoice to against closed WBS.
Thanks a lot in advance.
Regards,
Sheelesh

Hi,
Mentioned below is an extract from SAP Help,
The status allows
You to post actual costs to orders and networks that are assigned to the WBS element, as long as their status permit this
The status prohibits
You from assigning networks, production orders or CO orders to the WBS element.
You from posting actual costs to the WBS element
If i understand this extract correctly it is clearly mentioned that you can post actual costs to orders and networks that are assigned to WBS element but you cannot post actual cost directly to a WBS element if the status is CLSD. What i think is that when the invoice is reversed system again considers the actual cost as a posting and hence it is prohibiting you from proceeding further. SAP Help also suggests that in case you need to do an actual posting you need to reverse the status from CLSD to a status that allows actual cost posting.
Hope i am clear here.

Gokul

  • Is it possible to post a GR/invoice on an PO item with IO that is TECO stat

    Hi,
Is it possible to post a GR/invoice on an PO item with Internal Order as cost assignment that has TECO status?
The IO was in released status when the PO was created.
    Regards,
    Ramesh.

    Hi
You can't post an GR/IR for a IO having TECO (technically completed) status.
Put back to REL status and post GR/IR.

  • De-linking (Valuation class & GL A/c) automatic posting in Invoice booking

    Experts,
I have a issue regarding link between FI & MM
    From what I understand,
there is a link between Service & Valuation class
& also a link between valuation class & GL.
This link enables automatic FI line item posting while invoice booking.
    My question:
    1. Can we break the linkage between valuation class & GL i.e. we want to stop the automatic posting
    2. What is the effect of above
    3. Would you advise to do this .. ? Why?

    Hi,
SAP standard process are the best business practises and it should changed only when we have genuine business problem and not for people issue.
There are several scenarios will occur during MIGO and MIRO. For each scenario system should determine a correct Inventory account, GR/IR clearing account, Price difference account and etc. First you need to prepare an excel sheet with all your possible business scenario, valuation area/valuation grouping code and their respective GL accounts. Once you have listed out all the scenarios and correct GL accounts, you can configure the system as per your requirement. Initial home work is needed to avoid any difference in account posting. Hence try to fix the source of your problem rather than changing the best practise. Account determination is vast and it cannot be explained here but please refer the below link.

    Hi,
Generally, for Import procedure folowed is.
    - PO created without GR/IR Unchecked and for Customs duties conditons are correctd with Custom vendor number
    - MIRO done for the Customs Vendor ( after the receipt of Goods )
    - MIGO done for the Goods ( when Tcode is excuted it will display the Doc number Generated in the MIRO run, or you have to input the correct number )
    - J1IEX done for the part2 posting

  • Error while posting vendor invoice in F-43

    Hi experts,
while posting vendor invoice with Tax code , i am getting the following error:
Posting is only possible with a zero balance; correct document
    Message no. F5060
Here tax line item is not yet all displaying in simulation.
If I posted with tax code with ZERO percentage it is posting correctly.
where as same transaction I am able to post through transaction code FB60.
    What could be the reason?
    regs,
    ramesh b

    Hi
Please check and correct the respective line items , because your selecting incorrect GL account with respective posting keys
Example : You have exp gl a/c at first line items against vendor invoice posting's, normaly this vendor will post in first line item with posting key is 31 with vendor a/c and second line item 40 with exp GL a/c and same you will check any required inputs have missed out from this transactions.

  • Problem in Capturing & Posting Excise Invoice

    Dear Experts,
As my client is facing problem to post Excise Invoice.
User has done Import PO, Invoice Verification for custom duties(BOE) and GRN. When i am going to capture excise invoice reference with Material Document i found that Part I entry is already created but Internal Number and Year showing Zero i.e.not generated.
User already dispatched material so we cant cancel GRN and update RG23A Part I entry through J1I5. Now i need to Post excise invoice but i dont have Vendor Excise Invoice and Internal Excise Invoice Number. Please tell me procedure that how to Update RG23A Part II entry.
    Immediate reply appreciated.
    Sac

    hi,
there seems to be some problem at the time of GR.
Since Part1 has been created , its a bit difficult to take part1 because as u told internal no. & year is bank.
How ever you can folow one of the paths below to serve your purpose of cenvat credit availament.
    1. Capture against GRN -J1IEX and save. Check whether part1 link is available with the ID.
If not take the credit through J1IH->additional Excise & give ID no. as reference doc no there.
    2. If Part1 tab is present after creation of ID but credit available is zero, try changing the material type & saving the ID which will trigger A part1 cancellation so that correct part1 can be done later & credit can be availed through j1iex itself.
These steps may involve a solution other possibility which is always open is debug but thats not suggested.

  • Posting of invoice with no reference to a PO from MIRO transaction

    Dears,
I'm wokring on a SAP R/3 4.6 release and I would like to know if it is possible to post invoices with no PO from MIRO transaction. If it is so would it be possible for you to let me know which are the customizing steps to undertake and/or the fields to be populated in the MIRO transaction.
I know that this kind of invoices should be processed throught transaction FB60 but in this case the use of MIRO transactino is required.
Thanks in advance for the help.
    Davide

    Hi Davide,
You have first to fill in the header the tab basic details and then in the tab Details "Inv.Party"
Now you can go to the tab G/L account.
With a PO the system take the vendor from the PO now you have first to fill the vendor number

  • Error: Not possible to post down payment clearing. There are no down payment

    Hi expert,
I am running a settlement for an internal order and encounter the following error message.
"Not possible to post down payment clearing. There are no down payments."
    Message no. AA571
When checked on the vendor, the invoice has been cleared in the same month before the settlement. Under the Internal order line items, there is still an unsettled amount of the invoice.
This internal order settles to an AUC asset. Previous month settlement was ok. Only problem with december.
The downpayment acct is currently zero.
Is there something wrong with the message table, or the posting of the vendor invoice ? Anything to do with the special GL indicator ?
Kindly advise what is the cause and the method to resolved this asap.
    Thanks.
    Angel.

  • Problem with posting parked invoices

We created a few vendor invoices through MIRO and parked them.   When we tried to post these invoices using FBV0, the system gives us an error message saying the Document does not net to zero.  All the invoices have the same error message.    We checked the documents and they all balance to zero.     Has anybody encountered the same issue?    Thank you.

    Hello,
    Please refer SAP

  • Problem on Posting Parked Invoices during MIRO

    Hi SAP Gurus!
Good day! I'm experiencing a problem during posting Parked Invoices thru MIRO. First I've parked invoices thru MIR7, then when I go to MIRO to post the invoices, the Parked Invoices are not reflected in the "Worklist". What is the possible problem here?
Hope you can help! Thank you.
    Mik

    Hi Gurus!
Thanks for the input, but I want the parked documents to be reflected in the posting of invoices (MIRO).
Actually, in both DEV and QAS servers, the parked invoices are reflected, but in PROD server it is not reflected. I don't know what happened. Can you please help.
    Thank you.

  • Posting (parked invoices) facility required - amountwise

    Hi
In my case, there are 10 people who will park (through MIR7 and FV60) the invoices (of any amount). Now there are three people who authorize (post through MIR6 and FBV0) the invoices on the basis of the amount.
Like Mr. A will post all the invoices which are below Rs.25000
Mr B will post all the invoices between Rs.25000 and Rs. 10 Lacs
Mr C will post the invoices above Rs.10 Lacs.
So let me know if posting (through MIR6 and FBV0) facility is possible considering the above amount slabs to A,B,C. Can we use authorization groups?

    Hi,
For this you need to get in touch with ABAPer or Workflow consultant

  • Purchase Order Allowed to Modify After Material Posting and Invoice

    Hi Experts,
Why do SAP allows the scenario to change the Purchase Order once Material Document is posted and Invoice is Created unlik Sales Order? Do we have any business scenarios reagarding allowing the PO change?
Thanks for the Clarification. Hopefully I will be enlightened by SAP's behavior in the Purchasing Process.

    Hi Cecilio,
PO is changable even after GR and IR has been completed. If the invoice has been received or the goods have been paid for, and your intended change affects the price, the change will be ineffective.
Please refer to the Online documentation, MM Purchasing -> Purchase Orders -> Changing, Cancelling, and Blocking Purchase Orders.
Also if you want to delete the PO, when all the procurement process is finished, it must be possible to delete the PO item for archiving purpose for example.
You can see the on-line help on that matter:
"You cancel items in a purchase order by deleting them. Please note that an item may only be deleted if it is closed (that is
to say , there is no outstanding quantity to be delivered or invoiced). Items are regarded as closed if, for example:
    · the ordered quantity (or more) has already been delivered
    · the ordered quantity has been invoiced in full
    · no related follow-on processes (such as reservations) are active
      in the stystem."
    Hope this can help

  • Correcting Cost Centers on a posted vendor invoice

    Hi,
If I posted a vendor invoice with an expense account posted to wrong Cost Center, is it possible to correct it FROM FI and not within CO. I know we can allocate the costs within CO but I want the correction to be made within FI as well.
A workaround I was thinking is re-posting the following in FB60:
Debit Expense 1000  old Cost Cntr
Cr Expense  1000    new Cost Cntr
but this won't let me post an invoice with 0 in the "Amount" field in header.
    Any other options?

If you can reverse the transaction i would suggest doing that using FB08 and re-key to the correct cost center. If you cannot do that, then you can post journal entry you mentioned using transaction FB50 or FB01 and NOT FB60. Since it is a transaction between two GL Accounts you cannot use FB60.
    Hope this helps.
