Change filename of xml attachment (using submitform)?

The script below launches an email message with the content of the form as an XML attachment. The XML filename is a unique, generated one. How can I speciy what the filename should be? (I want to use reference fields on the form to construct the filename).

XI Mail Adapter: Sending an XML attachment

Hi
I want to send an xml attachment using the XI Mail adapter. I have configured the adapter correctly and am currently receiving the email message.
My issue is that my attachment has a .txt extention and I want it to have a .xml extn.
I have seen a variety of web blogs around but none of these have helped.
I have also changed my configuration from XIPAYLOAD to XIALL and still cannot get my payload message as a .xml attachment.
When I config my adapter to use XIALL i get 2 attachments, a SOAP.xml and the my payload wiht the filename:
[email protected]
When I use XIPAYLOAD, with the keep attachment option ticked, I get an attachment with a .txt extn.
I am convinced there must be a J2EE setting or maybe a ABAP config paramter that I need to update to get the .xml extn.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Using event.target.submitForm to submit a PDF and XML attachment in a single email.

I have a button on a PDF form which emails a PDF and XML attachment of the current form in two seperate emails. The code is as follows:

This results in 2 seperate emails, when all I need is a single email with two attachments. Is there a way to do this?

As far as I know you can only attach one attachment at once.

Mail receiver adapter: change filename of attachment to number in payload.

Dear experts,
I want to send out Purchase Orders from XI to a email address. The XI message containing the Purchase Order is sent as an attachment to a email to the supplier. However, the filename of the attachment needs to unique. Preferably the PO number which is in the file content.
Can anybody help me out with how to accomplish this?
My current settings are:
Transport protocol: SMTP
Message Protocol: XIPAYLOAD
Not using mail package
Keeping attachments.
Using: MessageTransformBean
Transform.ContentDisposition --> attachment;filename="testing.xml"
Please tell me how to dynamically change the "testing.xml" part!

I'm afraid that it's not possible with OpenXML SDK, but it's possible if you use Excel PIA along with Internet Explorer. Use the Internet Explorer COM object to render the HTML content, then copy the document, use the Paste method of the Worksheet object
to paste the text with format.

Sender mail adapter sending xml attachment comes with .bin

Hi all,
I have the following scenario: Sender Mail >> RFC
As I can receive multiples attachments I´m using payload swap bean and adapter module to get all attachments together in the first attachment.
In most cases is working very well, but in some cases the xml attachment is coming as a ".bin".
The same mail with this wrong format, when it´s been forwarded, comes with the right xml file so I can figure that is the mail format sent by vendor.
I tried to simulate this error myself and I could observe that when I change the message format from html to plain text in my outlook I get the same error, the attachments comes as .bin
Does anyone know how can I receive those mails in the right format?

When the mail comes as html format is working fine, but not working when comes as plain text.
Any Idea?

Name of the file while submitting as XML attachment

Hi,
Is there any way I can change the name of the XML attachment, either with the Email Submit button or a normal button set to Submit? The problem is that I receive multiple attachments with the same filename..

The filename of the attachment is taken from the name of the sending PDF. You woudl have to do a SaveAs on the sending machine and change the PDF filename. Note that you cannot do this programatically. For security reasons - The user must be involved.

Mail Package with XML attachment

Hi Everybody,
I am using Mail Package to implement dynamic mail.
The email is sent successfully, the problem is that when I try to open my XML attachment and the error 'The page can not be displayed' appears in my browser.
I changed charset from ISO-8859-1 to UTF-8. But it still didn't work.
Here is the information in my content_type tag:
text/plain; charset=UTF-8 ; name=NFe.xml

In fact the right value for Context_Type tag is application/xml; charset="UTF-8"; name="MyFile.xml"
And I also removed the values in the Tags "Content_Description" and "Content_Disposition".

Help converting or reading SOAP XML-attachment instead of payload

Hi,
I have to setup a webservice that excepts an xml-file as an attachment and read that xml-file as if it where the main payload of the message.
The messages we receive holds all the data I need in the attachment instead of the data being in the SOAP-body itself. This isnt something I can change since this is a solution provided by amadeus e-travel and I have no chance of changing how they send data to us.
I have searched and searched the forums but havent been able to find a solution(that I understand) to how I can access the xml-file either in a mapping-routine or by simply swapping the payload with the attachment all together.
As of now I have a webservice that is functional and receives the call from the source(amadeus e-travel) without a problem. I can also see the attachment in SXMB_MONI where it looks like a perfect xml-structure. But I have no idea on how to access the attachment so that I can use the data inside it in an abap-proxy in our ECC-system.
As far as I have read on the forums I cannot use the payloadswapbean in the SOAP senderadapter so that option is out. I have seen mention of a java-class for reading attachements in mapping-routines but sadly I'm not much of a Java-programmer and dont have access to one either at the moment. I would need a detailed explanation in order for a java-program to be a viable solution for me.
Is there some trick I have missed here or blog that shows how to read xml-attachments in a soap-message?
Is there any standard Java-code I can use to read the whole xml-structure from the attachment in a mapping-routine?
Any help would be very much appreciated!

Option-1:
This might be a crude way, but you can acheive by a 2 step process...
Step1 (Scenario-1) - Receive XML-Msg + Attachment using SOAP Sender adapter. As we have payloadwaapbean module limitation in sender adapter. Let it be a passthru to receiver SOAP adapter. (Don't do any processing in integration engine, like msg mapping or thything). In Rx SOAP adapter,use payloadswapbean to swap XML msg with Payload and resent it to 2nd integration scenario...
Step2(Scenario-2) - As you have the Attachment as main-payload, you can continue ur normal msg processing on it.
Option2:
SOAP messages can also be processed using AXIS-SOAP Adapter.. you can add XI module in it Check it if it might help you...

Transform LiveCycle form xml output using xsl

I've completed my first form but now want to format the xml that's generated.
Whilst I work for a big Company, I don't think they'll stretch to purchasing the Reader Extensions Module so I can output as PDF. Also there will be more than 500 users completing the form, so I can't just extend the rights using Adobe Acrobat.
Therefore, I'd like to transform the xml created using xsl (as I have knowledge in this area) - I'd like the transformation to occur when the form is submitted via email so that a 'friendly' attachment is added to the email and not the xml output.
Any ideas on this one?

First thing is, the fonts did not work in my system.. So I can not really understand where the email address fields are..
Few things:
1) You have used an Email submit button and tried to place the code in the MouseDown event.
You need to change this button to "Regular Type Button". and place the code in the Click event to work.
2) I placed a sample button and put in my code for your reference.. This is working fine..You can check the below sample.

4) If you have Acrobat software, you can enable JavaScript debugger which can give you the specific error message rather than Submit cancelled. If you do not, then you need to put some messageBox statements and check..

XML Attachment problem

My requirement is to send an xml document as an attachment to e-mail. I am getting the attachment in mail but when tried to open, the data is missing instead i am getting message as "The XML page cannot be displayed." Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct. I tried using fn. module "SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1" as well as using "add_attachment" method. In both the versions i am getting the attachment but not the xml data. Any solution is very much appriciated.

In order to give exact soulution need to know how you are generating the xml?
1.If you are concatenating the tags for xml into itab and if your data is in readable format..
Make it to string format and use FMs' SCMS_STRING_TO_XSTRING and SCMS_XSTRING_TO_BINARY.

Error while loading an XML document using a structured application

Hi,
I try to load an XML document using a structured application defined in the default structapps.fm
My code is shown down, extracted from the FDK API code sample.
Problem, I always have the same message :
"Cannot find the file named e:\xml\AdobeFrameMaker10\file. Make sure that the file exists. "
Where "e:\xml\AdobeFrameMaker10\" is my install directory.
So I assume that frame try to find the structapps.fm file but does not find it.
What else can it be ?
Does anyone knowns how to achieve this simple task using extendScript ?

Pierre,
Depending on the object "myLastFile", the method openDlg might not even exist (if the myLastFile object is not a File object, for instance). And I do not see any need for the myLastFile anyhow, as you are presenting a dialog to select a file to open. I recommend using the global ChooseFile( ) method instead. This will give you a filename as string in full path notation, or null when no file was selected in the dialog. I am not sure what your ExtendScript documentation states about the return value for ChooseFile, but if that differs from what I am telling you here, the documentation is wrong. So, if you replace the first lines of your code with the following it should work:

While writing this, I see that Russ has already given you the same advice. Use the symbolic constant value I indicated to use the ChooseFile dialog to select a single file (it can also be used to select a directory or open a file - but you want to control the opening process yourself). Note that this method allows you to set a start directory for the dialog (second parameter). The ESTK autocompletion also gives you a fifth parameter "helplink" which is undocumented and can safely be ignored.
