Of you're being phished. There are a lot of phishing scams going around right now with bad guys trying to get access to apple ID's.
Anytime you want to verify the info, do not click on any links in the mail, but open up iTUnes on your computer and check things out that way.
If you want to verify if anything is wrong http://www.apple.com/support/appleid/contact/
contact apple on your own and see what they say.

I agree with TSN; it could be a phishing scam.  Clear indications: if the email message does not mention your name (but "dear valuable customer").
Always check the originating IP address from where the message really came from (the 'From:' email header can easily be forged).

    I changed my password yesterday.
My daughter's account (which we think is separate) notified her that HER password had been reset as well.  But we have two diffent ID's and passwords.  OR so we thought.  Any advice?  We keep dueling/changing passwords...

    Hey there HaroldHarold13,
It sounds like after changing the password for your Apple ID, your daughter was prompted that her password was incorrect. It is possible that she is using an alias setup under your account, and you can verify this at http://www.icloud.com. This article will show you how to check for that:
iCloud: Create or change email aliases
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ph2622
Change, deactivate, reactivate, or delete an alias
In iCloud Mail, choose Preferences from the Action pop-up menu in the sidebar.
    Click Accounts.
Select the alias in the Addresses list, then do any of the following:
To choose a new color for incoming messages, click a Label Color option. Alias labels appear only in the iCloud Mail app on iCloud.com.
To change the name or label, enter a new alias name and label in the fields provided. Alias names must contain between 3 and 20 characters.
To turn off an alias, select “Disable alias.”When an alias is turned off, all email messages addressed to that alias are returned to the sender.
To turn on an alias, deselect “Disable alias.”
To delete an alias, click Delete.
Also, when you setup the iCloud account, you get a free @icloud.com email address. That one or the other of you may be using. You can check this by logging into http://appleid.apple.com

  • I just purchased a Macbook Pro, and I tried signing into FaceTime with my Apple ID, but every time to try sign in it appears with this message: "The server encountered an error processing registration. Please try again later." What do I do?

I've tried changing my DNS servers to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.8.4 but that didn't work...
    What else can I try?

  • Adobe has changed my password but still when I try to download the update it goes to the old "hint." for the password I don't rememember.  Got the email from Adobe REader that my password has been changed but it doessn't seem to work.

    What can I do?

Adobe Reader does not require a password to download from Adobe's web site.
Adobe Reader's installer does not require a password to function.
An installed version of Adobe Reader does not require a password.
Sometimes, some computer Operating Systems are configured such that to install an application or to install an update to an application an "admin" has to sign in.
That, of course, involves a password.
But that has nothing to do with Adobe Reader download, installer or Reader use.
It is completely a thing of the OS configuration.
    Be well...

  • How do I delete an old icloud account off my phone if the email address had been hacked and the password has been changed?

My old email was hacked and since then my passwords have been changed. I have a new apply ID which if fine, but my phone is asking me for my old apple ID password before I can delete it from my ICloud. The problem is I cant reset the password and my birthday verification isnt working. I am unable to do anything in icloud because it is forever telling me my password is wrong. my new apple ID seems to be working on every other part of my phone. Any ideas what to do?

Well you can try this, but I'm not sure it's going to work if this is an entirely new ID.
Go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • How can I edit my recovery email address if my password had been locked?, How can I edit my recovery email address if my password had been locked?

How can I edit my recovery email address if my password had been locked? I couldn't receive the reset my password email because I think my recovery email address was invalid.

The idea of a Recovery email is so the rightful owner accomplishes the recovery, so I don't know of a process to edit that address if you don't know the Apple ID and associated Password.

Are you not backing your photos up to iCloud? Dropbox? Any of the other options? If not, sorry, you will lose your photos.
You must use a computer to restore. Doesn;t matter if it's yours or not - any computer will do as long as it has the latest version of iTunes.

  • Has anyone gotten an email stating that someone in Spain used your Apple ID to purchase an app? Spam or not?

I have received 2 emails stating that someone purchased an app (TuneIn Radio Pro) using my Apple ID, but when I review my account in ITunes or the App Store on my computer, there are no purchases that are unknown. The email also states that it was purchased from Spain and the bottom of the email that tells the company name and address it has Hispanic characters in it. I am assuming it's a spam email but I just want to make sure.
    Thanks for any help!

It's a scam.  They'll typically want you to click a link if you didn't buy it, which then prompts you to sign in with your Apple ID and provide your credit card.  The website will look like an Apple one, but it won't be, and they'll steal your info.

Someone made a purchase from my Apple ID to a device that was not mine – I received an email stating that this occurred, yet the only solution that Apple gave me was to change my password. When I look at my account, I can see the $20.00 purchase of music volumes that I did not purchase myself and was not uploaded to any of my devices; however, I cannot find a solution to getting my money back or to file a complaint against the unknown person that did this. Additionally, how do we prevent something like this from happening again, especially when I have an iPhone? What can I do in this situation?

Thank you for the suggestion. I did change the password; however, I generally will purchase gift cards to link to the account so that if something like this ever happened it would not be taken out of a credit card or bank account.

  • Someone used my email address to create an apple id. I changed the password because it is freaking me out. I want to report it to Apple but dont know how to go about it. I want the Apple ID deleted. How do I go about that?

Someone used my email address to create an Apple ID. I logged in to appleid.apple.com and I changed the password because it is freaking me out. I want to report it to Apple but dont know how to go about it. I want the Apple ID deleted. How do I go about that? Is there also a way to ensure that the email address wont be used again by this person to create another Apple ID?
This is compounded actually by a Gmail issue. I have had this email address for ages, since the start of the beta. But lately in the last year or so, I am getting mail that seems to be intended for other people but it is using my email address. It is probably one of them who created the Apple ID.
