Change in PTax Slabs

HI,
I have changed the PTAX slabs from the IMG below
SPRO>Payroll:India>Professional Tax-->Assign Amounts for Professional Tax Deduction
But I would like have these changes effective from certain date, where can we define that date.
Rgds
Ram

Ram ,
Check the node just after the node where u assigned new amounts.
see ptax amounts are linked with Tax slab codes there.
In the next node ...
The region code is linked with the ptax slab code along with the start and end dates. Here u have to start with the revised dates.
Solution.
U wil now have 2 slab codes for the same region... One is for the old slab codes to be linked with the old ptax slab amounts... and a new slab code now which needs to be linked with the new slab rate amounts.
The linking of slab codes with slab rate amounts is done in the node
1. Assign amounts for ptax deduction.
The linking of  slab codes to region codes with start date and end date is done in the node
1. Maintain method and form layout for ptax groupings.
U have to thoroughly check the system however after doin this configurations.
All the best.
Sambit.

  • Gujarat Ptax Slab Revision Fy 2014-15 A/Y 2015- 16

    Hy Friends,
My users has said that the Professional Tax of Gujarat for the Fy 2014-15 A/Y 2015-16 has been revised WEF 01.04.2014. Can anybody please share the link of Gov notification and related SAP note released by SAP for the same....?
    Thanks

    Hi,
For changing of Ptax slabs SAP will not release a note as per my search & understanding, why because Ptax will change every year for any of the 26 states in India. and these configuration tables are simply modifiable no need to implement a sap note like Income tax changes.
system will consider according to the amounts and slab codes for the period of payroll running from these Ptax tables.
    Regarding configuration:
After client confirmation only i configured the tables and transfer to production. About date wright, my client want these settings from 01.05.2014 on wards.
    About configuration:
Go to table V_T7INP4 and create new entries with new slab code.
in table V_T7INP3 copy the existing line and change the slab code and start Date, system will ask for delimitation of the old record delimit at the end of the particular period last day of the month.

  • What is the new sap note for Ptax slabs of FY 2011-12.

    Dear Experts,
we are currently using  ECC  6.0, release 604, patch level 0035 and support package SAPKE60435. professional tax slabs not updated in table V_T7INP4.
what is the new sap note for Ptax slabs of FY 2011-12.

    Hi,
The Profession Tax tables T7INP3 & T7INP4 are customizing tables in which the entries are to be modified. SAP provides the initial entries and, if there is any change in slab rates, then you would need to update these slabs manually.
Please delimit the slab code in table T7INP3 and then create a new slab code entry from the date of delimition for the new rates in table T7INP4.

    Regards,
    Aruna.

Please check the SAP Note-1642750 for Manual steps to configure Bihar Ptax.
Manual Steps for implementing Professional Tax for Bihar:
Maintain customizing entries for following views:
    1. V_T7INP1- Professional Tax grouping details
    2. V_7IN0P_PTX- Personnel Area/ sub area grouping for professional tax
    3. V_T7INP4- Professional Tax slab amounts
    4. V_T7INP3- Methods and Form Layout for states
    5. T596F- HR- Subroutines
Step 1: Maintain PTax grouping for Bihar State.
IMG Path: SPRO->Payroll->Payroll: India->Professional Tax-> Define Professional Tax Grouping Details
                                                                      OR
    Execute transaction code: ‘SM30’
In View/Table specify the name as ‘V_T7INP1’ and click on Maintain button. Maintain new entries and ‘Save’ the data.
For example, in our system the case is replicated as shown below:
Here PTgrp (PTax Grouping) for Bihar is ‘21’.
Step 2: Assign PTax Groupings for Personnel Areas and Subareas.
IMG Path: SPRO->Payroll->Payroll: India->Professional Tax-> Assign PTax Groupings for Personnel Areas and Subareas

For example, in our system the case is replicated as shown below:
Here, IN19 is the personnel area for Bihar and personnel subarea is 0001 which is assigned to PTax group 21 defined in step 1.
Step 3: Maintain Professional Tax Slab amounts:

    Execute transaction code: ‘SM30’
In View/Table, specify the name as ‘V_T7INP4’ and click on Maintain button. Maintain new entries and ‘Save’ the data.
Here, PTax slabs are maintained along with the deduction amounts:

    BH01               4       9.999.999,00                              2.500,00                  INR
For example, in our system the case is replicated as shown below:
Step 4: Maintain Methods and Form Layouts for States
IMG Path: SPRO->Payroll->Payroll: India->Professional Tax-> Maintain Method and Form Layout for PTax Groupings.
                                                                     OR

All these should be done in DEV client and Transport request to be moved to QAS/Test client for Testing. Once testing is successful,  move it to PRD.
    Hope it helps

  • Previous year arrear

    Hi Experts,
CLIENT IS USING LEGACY SYSTEM CURRENTLY.
Currently the client is having FY from Feb - Mar. Now they are planning to streamline there process with standard and make FY from Apr - Mar.
Now for FY 2007 employee has paid ITax upto Feb. In FY 2008 we are planning to include Mar 2007 salary. so now Form 16 will reflect 13 months salary (since he has not paid tax for Mar 2007).
I want to upload the employee's Mar 2007 salary in system against the wagetype like previous year arrear and standard wagetype used for this purpose will be "Taxed but not paid" wagetype.
(since employee has been paid Mar salary but no tax has been deducted)
For achieving this I need to know the Taxable income and Exemptions for each employee for Mar 2007.
I will upload the March payroll data for each employee and then find Taxable income and Exemptions, and thereafter calculate the net taxable income and then I'll suppy this amount to that employee in IT0015 against the wagetype "Taxed but not paid" in period Apr 2008.
Please suggest whether I am proceeding in a right manner or if there can be a better way to achieve this or if this process may result in some problems.

    Tomesh

    Hi Sur,
/616  Add gross salary,It is related with section 89 relief ( claim of income tax difference)
This wage type stores the differences between the gross actually paid and the gross salary including the arrears payment.
The reason for creation of /616 is some employees  receives money/income  that of a previous period(arrears) or that of a future period in the current period , hence there is a change in Ptax and the employee can claim for the difference in PTax (section 89 Relief)
Check table T511K and look at what value you maintained for S89SW
Set the Value field to 1, if you want the system to compute Section  89(1) Relief for your employees.
Set the Value field to 0 or leave the field blank, if you do not  want the system to compute Section 89(1) Relief for your employees.
If you don't want to calculate it automatically please maintain  subtype 0004 in IT0588
    >Please Check  PCR IN89, and table S89 in payroll log ( from this table you can understand the process that creates /616 )

I have one requirement changeing the Education cess slab Rate to 3% on TAX Payable amount ,Present my system is Calculating
Education cess 2% on TAX Payable  kindly Any body Knows the solution  send the details how to Change the configuration level
    steps for indian payroll .
    with regards,
    Gopalrao

    Hi!
There is an increase in education cess in both direct and indirect taxes.
in which part? that is in central excise, With holding tax or in service tax you require the procedure?
In case of central excise sap has relased notes for the increase in cess.
Regarding the with holding tax (TDS) and service tax both are GL based configaration need to configared accordingly.
1)In with holding tax you need to create new tax type for the higher edcuational cess and attach the same to vendor master.
    2) Assign GL accounts in obww.
With respect to service tax you need to create a condition type, account key and go on creating a new tax code in FTXP.

  • Chennai Ptax calculation during Withdrawn stage in mid month

    Hi Experts,
As i know chennai Ptax is calculated twice in a year 6th and 12th or 5th and 11th period.
But if employee resign during the mid cycle example:employee joined april and resigned in mid july, will ptax is calculated till that period or it will ignore ptax and run salary.
    Appricate your response.
    Regards
    Sai

    Hi Siva,
Professional tax cannot be prorated as it is not deducted on basis of attendance.
The Chennai professional tax is purely dependent on Gross Salary. For example an employee joined in the mid of the year for example an employee joined in the month of Feb and left in the month of august His/her gross salary is 10,000
According to rule it will divide 10000 by 6 months His professional will get deducted according to slabs
Many organizations deduct PT on a monthly basis by way of equal installments across a half –year period. For example, if an employee earns more Rs 15,000 each month (more than Rs 75,000 in a half-year), a sum of Rs 1095 should be deducted towards PT (please see the PT rate table above). Organizations following the equated monthly PT deduction method deduct Rs 182 (Rs 1095/6) each month towards PT in the monthly payroll. At the end of 6 months the organization will have deducted Rs 1095** for PT remittance. All is well.
**Rs 182 x 6 is actually Rs 1092 and not Rs 1095. This rounding-off problem can be easily solved by simply adding Rs 3 to the PT deduction amount during payroll in any of the months during the half-year period.
What happens if the employee does not work for the entire half-year period but leaves the organization at the end of say, 3 months? For example, let us assume that the employee works from 01-Apr-2012 to 30-Jun-2012 during the half-year period.
The company will have deducted Rs 546 (Rs 182 x 3) for the 3 months as per the equated monthly PT deduction logic. For the 3 months, the employee earned Rs 45,000 (this is the half-yearly salary since the employee leaves the organization), and for Rs 45,000 the organization should have deducted only Rs 235 as PT (please see the PT rate table above). In addition, Rs 546, the deducted PT amount, does not fall in any PT slab as specified by the Chennai Corporation. Ideally, the organization should refund Rs 311 (PT deducted in excess) to the employee. In practice, most organizations just remit whatever PT is deducted from employee salary. We have come across instances where PT authorities have questioned the basis of PT deduction when PT amounts do not fall under any PT slab.
There can also be instances when the equated PT deduction logic can lead to under-deduction of PT.
Let us assume that an employee earns Rs 7,000 per month (Rs 42,000 in a half-year period). The PT deduction for a half-year period should be Rs 235 (as per the PT slabs). As per the equated PT deduction logic, the organization will deduct Rs 39 per month (Rs 235/6). If the employee leaves the organization at the end of 5 months, the organization will have deducted Rs 195 as PT. However for an employee salary of Rs 35,000 (Rs 7,000 x 5 months), the organization should have deducted Rs 235. This is a case of under-deduction of PT.
The flaws of the equated PT deduction logic will come to the fore for any employee who does not work the entire six months in a half-year period.
If you are in favour of the equated PT deduction method and argue that you can always adjust the excess or short PT in the final settlement processing if an employee quits before the end of the half-year period, we will simply say that this will not be possible in case an employee absconds or does not have adequate settlement salary to recover the short PT in full.
In other words, the equated PT deduction logic is flawed and is better not followed. Of course, if an organization does not deduct PT each month but deducts PT only once every half year, this problem will not occur.

  • Time evaluation:Regeneration of leaves for past with new slabs.

    Hi Gurus
Find below our requirement and advice accordingly
1.Employees annual leave entitlement slabs are bifurcated based on length of service as below
    Tenure with Company      Eligibility/Month
    1. Probation        1.5 Days
    2. 0-3 Years                           2 Days
    3. >3-6 Years     2.08 Days
    4. >6-10 Years     2.16 Days
    5. >10-20 Years     2.33 Days
    6. >20 Years Above     2.50 Days
2.Probationary /regular employee bifurcation is done at employee subgroup level
    Emp Subgroups     Employee
    1. 01 - 10            Regular
    2. 11 - 20                          Probationary
    3. We use time evaluation schema ZM01 copy of TM01.
    4. On hiring, probationary will be assigned with employee subgroups 01-10 via hire action.
    5. On confirmation, probationary will be changed with employee subgroups 11-20.
    6. For probationary, system will generate monthly accruals of 1.5/month days till confirmation.
    7. After confirmation system will start generate 2 days/month.
    8.  We have a requirement that after confirmation action system should re generate the leaves from date of joining as per the employee after probation.
    Illustration:-
    1. Employee joined under probation on 01.06.2011.
    2. His monthly annual leave accrual till 31.12.2011 will be 9days i.e. (1.5 days * 6 months)
    3. On running confirmation action system should regenerate his annual leave from his date of joining with the new slabs and it should be 12 days i.e. (2 days * 6 months).
Is it feasible in time evaluation. Pls advice.
    Thanks in advance, Thanesh

    Hi
I have a couple of queries on this scenario.
We can do it on the base of base entitlement but there is action dependency then its better to write PCR.
First Check action type --> Then give the quota as 1.50 or 2 days as per req the nupdate the quota.
Here before writing the PCR we need to take care of one thing that once employee changes the action it could not check the old action. Say for Ex when i am checking the probation and changed the Probation to permenant then it should not check the Probation again. So we need to put a counter check here.
So i am writing a logic like first will check Probation an
For Ex : We take Probation Action type as 01 and Permenant Action type as 02
