  • Change Logs for TCODE -- FILE

    Hi Friends,
Please help me in finding the change logs  for the TCODE  FILE,
i.e  The changes made to the Logical paths
I had tried  Utilities---->change logs , but unfortunately i cannot find any changes logs
But there are changes made to the logical paths in my system but i cannot see them in change logs
    thanks

rec/client is a profile parameter, you can view the settings in transaction RZ10.  However I find program RSPARAM more useful, the report lists all system parameters with their default and altered value.  Also if you double-click on a parameter you can get to the full help text for its meaning.
The parameter essentially switches on table change logging for configuration tables (based on the technical settings of the table) and has to be set before the changes are made.
    Hope this helps.

  • Whats the sand box and golden client

    Hi,
whats the sand box and golden client.what i have to do the settings for sand box client in scc4.little bit confusion clear for the same.
    Regards,
    KiranKumar.

    Hi ,
Golden client is the client in which you do all your configurations but no DATA is loaded in this client.
Client settings : automatic recording of changes. All the configuration transport will be created in this client and will be moved to subsequent Unit test or Quality client.
Whereas , Sandbox client is a client in which one can test his configuration prior doing it in Golden client. This client data can be loaded.
Client settings : Changes W/o automatic recording no transport allowed but with no changes to repository and cross client customizing objects.

  • Difference between Golden Client and Master Client

    Dear,
What is the Difference between Golden Client and Master Client?
    Thanx & Regards,
    Mohammad Nabi,
    [email protected]

Golden Client is similar or is the the same as Development Client, which should not be used for testing.
    Master Client ???
    Note on SAP Landscape:
Landscape is like a server system or like a layout of the servers or some may even call it the architecture of the server’s viz. SAP is divided into three different landscape DEV, QAS and PROD.
    -  DEV would have multiple clients for ex: 190- Sandbox, 100- Golden, 180- Unit Test.
    -  QAS may again have multiple clients for ex: 300- Integration Test, 700 to 710 Training.
    -  PROD may have something like a 200 Production.
These names and numbers are the implementer's discreet on how they want it or they have been using in their previous implementations or how is the client's business scenario.
Now whatever you do in the Sandbox doesn't affect the other servers or clients. Whenever you think you are satisfied with your configuration and you think you can use it moving forward, you RE-DO it in the golden client (remember, this is a very neat and clean client and you cannot use it for rough usage). As you re-do everything that you had thought was important and usable, you get a transport request pop up upon saving every time. You save it under a transport request and give your description to it. Thus the configuration is transported to the Unit Test client (180 in this example).
You don't run any transaction or even use the SAP Easy Access screen on the 100 (golden) client. This is a configuration only client. Now upon a successful transport by the Basis guy, you have all the configuration in the Testing client, just as it is in the Golden client. The configuration remains in sync between these two clients.
But in the Testing client you can not even access SPRO  (Display IMG) screen. It's a transaction only client where you perform the unit test. Upon a satisfactory unit test, you move the good configuration to the next SERVER (DEV). The incorrect or unsatisfactory configuration is corrected in Golden (may again as well be practised in the sandbox prior to Golden) and accordingly transported back to 180 (Unit Test) until the unit test affected by that particular config is satisfactory.
The Golden client remains the 'database' (if you wanna call it that) or you may rather call it the 'ultimate' reference client for all the good, complete and final configuration that is being used in the implementation.
    In summary:
Landscape : is the arrangement for the servers
IDES : is purely for education purpose and is NOT INCLUDED in the landscape.
    DEVELOPMENT ---> QUALITY -
    > PRODUCTION
DEVELOPMENT : is where the the consultants do the customization as per the company's requirement.
QUALITY : is where the core team members and other members test the customization.
PRODUCTION : is where the live data of the company is recorded.
A request will flow from Dev->Qual->Prod and not backwards.
    1. Sandbox server: In the initial stages of any implementation project, You are given a sandbox server where you do all the configuration/customization as per the companies business process.
    2. Development Server: - Once the BBP gets signed off, the configuration is done is development server and saved in workbench requests, to be transported to Production server.
    3. Production Server: This is the last/ most refined client where the user will work after project GO LIVE. Any changes/ new development is done is development client and the request is transported to production.
These three are landscape of any Company. They organized their office in these three way. Developer develops the program in Development server and then transport it to test server. In testing server tester check/test the program and then transport it to Production Server. Later it will deploy to client from production server.
Presentaion Server- Where SAP GUI has.
Application Server - Where SAP Installed.

  • Error while Changing log level in Agentry 6.0.44.1

    Hi ,
I am trying to change the log level from the Agentry Administration client, but i am getting the below error message.
And it is showing any option to change the log levels for users. How can I change log level for users also.
How can I resolve this error.
    Regards,
    Shyam

    Shyam,
This is fixed or planned fixed in 6.0.46 Agentry Server (supposed to be available anytime soon in the Service Marketplace - it was submitted already to the SMP team). The fix was in SMP 2.3 and SMP 3.0 but it was ported back to the Agentry 6.0.X release. If you have no access to the Agentry 6.0.X patches this means that your SAP License is preventing you from downloading it. You may need to contact the SAP CIC (customer interaction center) group.
Or you can do the manual setup for a workaround for now.
SAP KBA article: 2048202 - AgentryGUI does not allow to change log settings - Not all setttings were successfully changed.

  • How to see the change logs for billing document

    Dears,
Could you please how to see the change logs for billing document.
My client is using ECC 6.0 & if i use VF03 > Environment > changes > does not show the changes i had made.
    Thanks in advance
    Ranjan

    hello, friend.
you should be able to see changes done after the initial creation and saving, by going thru Environment > Changes.  try it again, and this time make sure that changes were done to the billing document prior to posting to accounting.
normally, when configuration of Billing is done correctly, there will be little or no instances of changing anything in the Billing document,  as saving the document after creation will post this to Accounting.  of course, inclusion of a posting block in the billing type will provide you the opportunity for changes.
    regards.

  • New entries in table TSTC not capturing in scu3 change logs

    Hi ,
We have TSTC table log enabled.
New Entries which comes through transport in the table TSTC are not capturing in change logs.
We have created a new Z T-code and transported it to Quality and then to Production.
But in the change logs of the tbale TSTC it is not captured both in quality and Production.
In the table TSTC t-code is present.
But the change log for the table doesnot show any new entry created.
In development change log of TSTC, the change is present but in Quality and Production it is not present.
    Development client : 400
    Quality Client         : 600
    Production Client    : 600
Can any one spill some beans on it...
    Thanks & Regards
    Kiran

You need to add "recclient = ALL" (or same client value as "rec/client" profile parameter in RZ10) to the transport profile as well in the STMS.
Search SAP notes and the forum here for "recclient" (without "/")

  • Change log

    Hi,
Is there any difference between the programs RSTBHIST ( Table history) and RSVTPROT(Evaluation of log changes)?
    regards,
    Beena

    RSTBHIST
    Description
You can record changes to table contents in the SAP System.
For each change to a table entry, a change document is written in the table log database. The change document contains information such as time of the change and name of the user who made the change.
Using the service functions, you can generate a list of all the change documents of the current day or a chosen time period.
Furthermore you can display a list of all the tables, for which change documents are written (i.e. all tables with history administration).
The administration of the table log database is supported by various functions:
Determining the number of change documents in the table log database
It is possible to select by time period and by table.
Deletion of the oldest change documents from the table log database
    Enter a key date.
You can select by table. Be careful: After deletion, the change documents are no longer available.
Archiving of the oldest change documents
Before deletion from the table log database, the change documents are archived in a sequential file.
    Creation of change documents
Change documents are written for a table if:
the table has the technical setting Logging
the function Write change documents is active in your system
To find out whether a table has the feature Logging, either choose the service function Tables with history administration or perform the following functions beginning with the main menu:
    Tools -> CASE -> Development -> Data Dictionary -> Display -> <tabe name> Display -> Goto -> Techn. setting
The function Write change documents is controlled via the profile paramter rec/client. The following is possible:
    rec/client = OFF --> Function inactive
    rec/client = ALL --> Function active
    rec/client = <md1>,... --> Function active for chosen clients
Comparison of current status with history
For tables with change logging, it is possible to perform a comparison of the current status with the contents of the table at an earlier time.
The table contents at both times are compared. Various field contents are highlighted.
You can switch the display from vertical split (objects alongside one another) to horizontal split (objects below one another).

  • Change Logs?

SAP report RSVTPROT (report change logs) when I run it in prod I can pick up new/changed tables, in this case it is TVRO. However, when I run it in DEV it does not pick up the changes to the table. I checked the technical settings of TVRO in both environments and they are the same?
                      Thank-You

I see in DEV where it is off in rec/client.....Thanks,  I need to reproduce a change log error in DEV, like in Prod where the rec/client is on. I wonder if there is any harm in doing this temporarily in DEV?

  • How to rebuild the config from the entries in the change logs

    Hi,
We have overwritten something vital in the KEDR t.code through a transport.  The users have created their own entries in the KEDR t.code directly in the system because this t.code was available for editing although the Client was locked for customizing (option no changes allowed). Not sure why SAP allows KEDR to be edited although the client was locked for customizing. Anyone knows?
Now the problem is how can we restore the entries maintained by the users?
Fortunately this KEDR table is enabled for audit log. Is there a way to actually restore the entries from the change logs? Please advise.

If the device is already in the Prime Infrastructure, you can open it in Device work center and select the device > use the configuration archive option > scheduled deploy.
Also, the Prime Infrastructure Plug and Play feature allows you to perform an initial provisioning of a software image and configuration on a new device. For more details check :

  • Tracking change log by workstation ID along with username

    Hi All users,
I am using SAP business one 8.8 and want to track changes in the system in such a way that along with user name I want to know, from which workstation (or PC) the user has made changes or created any document? Every PC has its unique IP or ID, can I see this in change log in any way? that from which workstation or client PC, the user has made changes?
    Any help is highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Farhan Sufi

    Dear Gordon,
Thanks for your reply, Actually I need only workstation ID along with user name when tracking transaction log from the tools option "change log".
I am calling it workstation ID, but you can tell me about any thing from which I can track, from which client or PC the user made any transaction. Whether It gives me computer IP or computer name or any identity of PC by which I can know which PC (among server and clients) is used by user to make any transaction.
    Any help is appreciated
    Thanks,
    Farhan

  • Is possible to keep a change log on a z table

    Hi..
I made a z table which has a charge out rate and other details. This is updated via table maintenance view by the user.
I want to know whther it is possible to get a change log, for example if the user changed the charge out rate at a particular date, to get the date, name of the user logged in and say the price it was chnaged to and the earlier price which was thr..
If the price change details cannot be taken, is it atleast possible to get the date the change was made and the user name..
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Keshini

    Hi,
If you maintain your z-table in ABAP Dictionary (SE11), via the menu Go to ->Technical Settings, you have a checkbox 'Log data changes' down left. F1 on this checkbox gives you following explanation:
                                                                                    "Log data changes
The logging flag defines whether changes to the data records of a table
should be logged. If logging is activated, every change (with UPDATE,
DELETE) to an existing data record by a user or an application program
is recorded in a log table in the database.
Note: Activating logging slows down accesses that change the table.
First of all, a record must be written in the log table for each change.
Secondly, many users access this log table in parallel. This could cause
lock situations even though the users are working with different
        application tables.
    Dependencies
Logging only takes place if parameter rec/client in the system profile
is set correctly. Setting the flag on its own does not cause the table
        changes to be logged.
The existing logs can be displayed with Transaction Table history
        (SCU3).        "
So don't forget: activating this checkbox will only help if you also activate parameter rec/client on system level.
    Hope this helps,
    Ioana

  • Configuration Change log in Production

    Hi all
Some configuration changes have been directly made in production at our client. How can we find out what changes are made? Going into SCC4 > Change logs, I could find out who made all the changes. But it does not show what configuration changes are made.
    Thanks
    Vamsi

    Dear Vamsi,
I'm not sure whether in a single report you can fetch all the changes related to configuration for a particular module.
But I'm sure in most of the nodes the configuration change logs gets recorded.Check these links,

  • Device Admin Change Log / Notes

I'm looking at a server device in inventory.  I want to be able to add notes to a change log containing details of what/why the admin changed on the server.  I so an Add button but I don't see a way to create any sort of change log entry.  Only a ticket.  Is that the best option, to create a ticket and close it?  That would be a little clunky of a solution.

  • NWBC Change Logs

    Hi All,
I am working on SAP transportation management (TM) system which uses NWBC. All end users access NWBC and perform various transactions like Create Booking, Change Booking etc.
Change logs are not being captured in any of the change tables (CDHDR and CDPOS). I browsed in google and came across concept called Context Log Changes for Webdynpro applications.
    https://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/17/023e63ac50439e83d4ed8573df0938/content.htm?frameset=/en/47/af752005c92fe1e10000000a42189d/frameset.htm
I have executed the demo existing in my system and demo shows that the whatever changes being done by the users in NWBC can be captured using this context change logs.
We are looking to implement this for our project, but before that we have few queries.
    1. Where do these context logs gets stored if i enable them?
    2. Our TM system is being integrated with GRC system, so if the change logs gets recorded in change tables (CDHDR and CDPOS), GRC can read them.
    3. Does this show any performance issues for our system if enabled?
    Experts please suggest.
    Thanks,
    Sai.

I don't really understand how this is related to NWBC (which is a client) but I will try to answer your question: the context change log functionality works only with the Web Dynpro ABAP runtime and the logs are not persisted, they exist only during the runtime eg. lifetime of the Web Dynpro ABAP component. The context change log has to be enabled for each Web Dynpro ABAP component so in case you are using standard SAP functionality, you would have to modify standard SAP applications and that is something you don't want to do. There are existing frameworks which utilize the context change log functionality and build a wrapper on top of it, PLM Web UI is one. If you want to discuss the context change log functionality further, create a new discussion thread in the Web Dynpro ABAP space.
The change document tables you refer to (CDHDR and CDPOS) are populated only if the application implements the change documents API, not all applications do. Instead you should probably look at table logging if the requirement is to log all changes. See SAP note 139418 for details. Consider however the space requirements and negative performance impact of table logging.
