Change MDI WINDOWS ICON

Hello Gurus,
We were trying to change the MDI window ICON in forms through the procedure given in d2kutil.pll We did successfully finished and its running fine.
But when we run the same form through a command prompt by passing necessary useir id credentials and parameters for the form(s) its throwing a error frm-90734 internal pl/sql error occured.
i.e we are running the form like below from the command prompt.
ifrun60.exe userid=scott/tiger@db module=d:\forms\icontest.fmx.
But If we include the path of the EXE in the command prompt It does work very well.
i.e d:\forms6i\bin\ifrun60.exe userid=scott/tiger@db module=d:\forms\icontest.fmx.
Respective Dll and Pll is available in the same folder and has been included in FORMS60_PATH as well.
Why is it due to, any suggestions on this will be much appreciated.

Changing The Default Window Icons

Is there a way to change the MDI Window Icon when the Form is run on the web. Changing the icon in client/server seems to work well with the following (attached d2kwutil.pll):

The problem with this is that it will always raise an error on the web because It cannot get the handle for the window (Frame) in Java. Is there a way to change the icon or am I just shooting in the dark. Any help would be appreciated.

Why won't windows icon attach to projector - Dir 11?

I made a windows icon using IconCommander on an intel Mac (snow leopard). The Mac version of the icon attaches to the Mac projector just fine. But using the same procedure in creating a windows projector and trying to attach the windows version of the icon doesn't work. I just get the Di icon on the projector (gray square with "Di") inside. I don't know if the problem lies with icon commander or Director. I don't have a windows machine, so need a Mac solution. I've attached the windows icon.

As far as I know, you can't change a Windows icon from a Mac.

webutil lets you access the client machine from webforms. you'll need to install it on the application server and include the webutil library and object group in the form which will change the MDI window's icon (probably the first form in the application).

Hi. Will any body tell me how to hide the default MDI window title in Forms 9i when it run in Web Browser. I am using the "Look and feel" property as "Generic" in Formsweb.cfg file. I tried the RESIZE,POSITION,MINIMIZE,VISIBLE FALSE properties of SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY FUNCTION, But the horizontal Bar at the top displaying "Window" on it, is displayed. Hi Inayat,
To remove the ORACLE icon, change the line "logo=" to "logo=x" in file formsweb.cfg.
I am not sure if it is possible to remove the standard-menu (horizontal bar with word Window, as you describe it), because as far as I know it is inheritance for the Windows OS. In other words, removing the standard menu can only be achieved if you run on another OS.

How to work on MDI window

I am using form 6.
Does anyone know how can I change the small Form runtime icon on the upper left corner of MDI window to a custom logo ?
I have changed the logo in the 'child' window successfully using 'SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY('WIN_1',ICON_NAME,'logo')' but this doesn't work on MDI window 'SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY(FORMS_MDI_WINDOW, icon_name, 'logo')'.
Also, is it possibile to not shown any window in the screen when the form is running, I know VB 6 can do this, how about Developer.

open the D2KWUTIL.pll
from directory: D:\ORANT\TOOLS\DEVDEM20\DEMO\FORMS\
,or whereever you have it, in FORMS navigator as library file, then
from MENU: FILE->ADMINISTRATION->CONVERT
convert the library into TEXT file (.PLD)
and open this in any text editor
look for change_MDI_icon function and
find description of all arguments ...
it seems like you can have more icons ...

Ok, details of installation below, so when I try compose an email, I just get a compose window icon stuck in the windows
taskbar can't actually enlarge it and use it. If I restart in safe mode with all addons disabled, then it works fine. But
If I restart normally and manually disable addons/plugins, then close and start normally again i.e not safe mode, it
breaks, so does not seem to be an addon or plugin but rather something with the configuration.

Downloading iTunes changes all my icons to iTunes

When I download iTunes onto my computer (Windows 7) it changes all the icons on my desktop to iTunes and iTunes will not open at all. Help please!

Every time I've seen it reported and I've tried to do some work on it, it has only affected one user account on the PC.
So ... it might be related to a damaged icon cache for the affected user account. (There's one of those for each different user account on the PC. This is what I accidentally learned yesterday while trying to research a fix for a slightly different problem.)
If that's what is going on, rebuilding the icon cache might get folks past it:

Can no longer change my HD icon

Replaced my 3G SSD with a 6G SSD, and used "Restore" in Disk Utility to transfer the info from the 3G to the 6G. I can boot into my usual user (set to admin) account, and everything seems to function fine. I wanted to change the custom icon to the appropriate model of SSD, but when I go to do the "copy/paste" in the Get Info window, I'm told to enter my password, and then it just stays the same and gives me the system alert sound. Nothing else. Icon won't change. Tried logging in with a separate "admin" account, and it doesn't work from there, either. I can change any other icon I want, but not my boot SSD.
I repaired permissions and zapped the PRAM and that did nothing. Booted from an external drive and tried from there, no go. It just won't allow me to change the boot drive icon, whereas it's never been a problem before.
I'm puzzled! Any suggestions for a workaround?

Well, I solved it. Here's what I did, in case anyone else has this problem.
I used the app "invisibliX" to make the hidden files visible.
Found the ".VolumeIcon" file, and noticed that it was locked.
I unlocked that file in the "Get Info" window, and THAT finally allowed me to change the SSD icon.
Hope this might help someone else. I just got the idea to look at the invisible files to see if there was anything odd. Seeing that file locked told me what I needed to do. From what I understand, the "locked file" problem happens with TimeMachine backup restores (which I've done one of in the past), so that would make sense.

How to export a symbol as a windows icon?

Is there an easy way to export a LabVIEW symbol as an icon? When putting a VI on the desktop, it would be nice if it had the same symbol as within LabVIEW. Instead, all VIs appear on the desktop with a standard icon. In the past, I copied the symbols to a painting programm, saved it, and converted it by means of shareware programs to a windows icon. My hope is that new LabVIEW versions provide this functionality. Unfortunately, I could not yet find this feature.

Similar to a TXT or DOC file, the icon associated with a VI file is linked at the Windows system level. Therefore, there may be some hack that allows you to change the icon for all VIs but not each VI individually.
A colleague suggested a method that might work for you. You can save the VIs in a directory somewhere else and make a shortcut to them on the Desktop. You can then change the icon of these shortcuts.

I have the problem that other have had, PDFs changing to Firefox icons

All my PDFs had changed to Firefox icons and when trying to open them only the Firefox browser page appeared and I could not locate my files. Uninstalling Firefox worked fine, my files returned. One person mentioned imported profiles from an old computer being a cause but I was working on a new laptop with nothing imported from old equipment. I only installed Firefox because of small irritaing annoyances with Google Chrome, but those were only minor after the problems caused by Firefox. An extra couple of clicks is nothing compared with having lots my files messed up and inaccessible. None of the solutions proposed seemed particlarly useful long term so for the present not using Firefox seems the most practical cure. My difficulties occured on a laptop using Windows 7, I am typing this question on an even newer laptop with Windows 8.1 and I am now reluctant to try installing Firefox on this machine. It is a shame as my daughter always recommended Firefox as being a more secure browser.

Change the mouse icon.

Hi all I need to change the mouse icon.
I'm using:
setCursor(Cursor.WAIT_CURSOR);
buet the problem is that this only works inside the application. If the mouse cursors does out of the application (f.e. to the windows desk) the mouse changes into the typical arrow icon.
What I need is the mouse icon to remain as a sand-watch icon till some opperations are done in the application.

I believe this behaviour is controlled by the operating system. This is part of the pre-emptive multi-tasking system, the principle being that one busy application should not disrupt the rest of the OS (compare with Win 3.1).
So I don't think you can do that, and even if you can, you probably shouldn't
