Change of ipaddress in http server machine

Hi,
I have this http server running on a linux machine and hitting oracle 10.2.0 database on a separate linux machine.
now we had to move the http server machine to a different domain in the DMZ, to allow outside world to hit the http server and through the http server be able to view data stored in the database which is secured internally through htmldb.
now since i have changed the ip address of the http server machine. is there any place in any configuration file where i need to change the settings for the http server to pickup the new ipaddress of the machine.
Please let me know what i shoud do. and i am open to any suggestions.
Thanks,
Philip.

I would suggest to stop creating new thread. Instead post your reply on the old thread and close this one. This will help for better track of solution.

  • Can we change the default port http server??

    Hello,
    While i'm installing the Oracle9iAS, the port for http server is given as 7777. If i want to change that port to 80, how can change that??? or anyway to hide and show the main page as http://oracle9i.jade.com
    Thanks
    Regards,

    Ming Jade,
    Yes...you can change it in
    <Oracle9iASHome>/Apache/Apache/conf/httpd.conf
    Change the value of Port from 7777 to 80 and the restart your application server...

  • Oracle HTTP server with multiples apex instances

    It is possible to have an Oracle HTTP server installed in a diferente machine,
    and apex Installed on databases there are in diferent machines?
    Or it would be necessary to install one HTTP server for each APEX instance?
    For instance:
    Machine 3
    ___________DATABASE A
    Machine 1 Machine 2 /
    WEB BROWSER -----------> HTTP SERVER /
    \ Machine 4
    \___________DATABASE B

    Yes, you can define multiple DADs - pointing to different machines/APEX instances - in one OHS instance.

  • How do I use pots on my client machine to change values, from the field, on my server machine and all other client machines?

    I am using Lookout 4.5, build 12, and I am having a problem concerning pots. I have data tables created for the different size sewer stations my system monitors. For each station, there are setpoints for starting and stopping of the pumps. I want to be able to change the setpoints for a station on the client file using a pot and have it change on all other machines running Lookout. I did this in 3.8 using DDE, but I don't want to use DDE anymore.
    I created a pot on the client file and URL'ed it to a pot on the server. On the server I created a table with a generic member "A" named "Lead Setp" and then created a member "A1" named
    "C5_1LeadSetp" then a member "A2" named "C3_1LeadSetp" and so on....
    In this table I connected the generic member "A" to the Pot I created on the server, and I connected A1 to its corresponding setpoint signal coming in from the field.
    On the client file I connected (in the table similar to the one on the server but with all signals for the station) the "A1" member to the setpoint signal coming in from the field, and I connected the "A" member to the Pot I created on the client file which is URL'ed to the pot on the server file.
    But, when I change the value of the pot on the client file, only the pot on the server and the "A" member in the table on the server change to the value of the pot on the client. The "A1" member whose screen I am changing the values from on the client does not change! This is the last thing I have to do and my file will be completely converted to 4.0. Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks for any responses..

    Hi Jason,
    If I understood your task correctly, you want to change the Setpoints on the Server DataTable using Pots from different clients. And also reflect these changes on the clients locally.
    You correctly remoted the Pots on the Clients to the corresponding Pots on the Server. However, you do not need tables on your clients. All you need is Expressions on each client to the particular cell of the Clients.
    So, to summarize: On the Server, the Pots write to the DataTable. And since the Pots on the Clients are remoted to these Pots on the Server, you can affect any change using these Pots. Because of the common remote source (Server Pots, i.e.) all of these Pots will always be in sync. Finally, to get the Setpoints on the Clients, just insert Expressio
    ns to the Server's DataTable.
    I am attaching a simple example (exmpl.zip) which does this. There are three processes -- My_Server, My_Client1, and My_Client2. I had them setup on the same machine so the paths are all process relative, but you can always change those to computer relative or absolute and move the client processes to diff machines.
    Hope this helps.

    Khalid

  • Virtual Directory Change from Oracle HTTP Server to Embedded PL/SQL Gateway

    We finally upgraded from htmldb 1.6 to ApEx 3.1.2 late last year. This was in conjunction with setting up a new server and installing Oracle 11g DB, while our production DB is still 10g. During this install, I opted for the Embedded PL/SQL Gateway, whereas our htmldb is running with the Oracle HTTP Server.
    During the conversion of one of our applications I learned that Virtual Directory references to #IMAGE_PREFIX# are no longer valid for custom CSS so I had to change an entry in the page templates that I'm using to use #WORKSPACE_IMAGES#. Now I am importing another application from our htmldb 1.6 environment to our ApEx 3.1.2 environment, and I have a new problem that I think is related.
    In this application we have been uploading report files for outside users to be able to download at their convenience. I think the upload is working OK, but when I try to download the report file I get the following:
    Not found
    The requested URL /apex/IMR.ofile was not found on this server.
    The download is accomplished with a link on an SQL Report region. The Column Link info is:
    Link Text = <img src="#IMAGE_PREFIX#edit_big.gif" border="0" alt="Icon 1">
    Target = URL
    URL = #OWNER#.ofile?p_file=#VIEW_REPORT#&v_auth=&APP_USER.
    When I change the Link Text to <img src="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#edit_big.gif" border="0" alt="Icon 1"> I lose the Edit Icon image. However, what I'm really concerned about is the URL not found error
    Now, maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree, so if the problem isn't related to virtual directories, which tree should I be barking up?
    Any suggestion?
    Thanks,
    Gregory

    Is the IMR.ofile a custom package for downloading files? If so, you might need to add it to the wwv_flow_epg_include_mod_local function.
    I am not certain how this function also plays into the embedded pl/sql gateway, but do know it would affect this running through Oracle HTTP server when configured with the before proc.
    With the embedded gateway it may very well be that you need to add this package into the ACL for outside availability.

  • How to install HTTP Server in a Linux Machine for running APEX

    I've Installed Unbreakable Linux 4.7 and I'm using the standard apache which comes (Apache 2), I want to install the HTTP Server in order to run APEX on this machine, and may it look the data from the database which is oracle 10g (The database is on another machine). Could both installations of apache and Oracle http server co-exists and what is the best form to do it??

    Yes, they can. They installed in different directories and you have to use different ports.
    AFAIK for HTTP for APEX is either part of the installation (eg. in the Oracle Express Edition) or part of the Oracle Installation CDs. For more information see the Oracle Installation Documentation.

    Thanks a lot for your help

    I was able to reslove this. Followed this :
    On UNIX, you will hare to run as root if you want to run on ports less than 1024.
    In order to run Oracle HTTP Server as root, perform the following steps:
    Shutdown Oracle HTTP Server using the following command:
    UNIX: ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin> opmnctl [verbose] stopproc ias-component=HTTP_Server
    Change to root user. Navigate to ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/bin on UNIX or ORACLE_HOME\Apache\Apache\bin on Windows and execute the following command:
    chown root .apachectl
    chmod 6750 .apachectl
    Exit root.
    Restart Oracle HTTP Server using the following command:
    UNIX: ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin> opmnctl [verbose] restartproc ias-component=HTTP_Server

  • Oracle Http server 11g, change ports with command-line tool

    I have installed the WLS11g webtier's Oracle Http server 11g. I installed the OH 11g only.
    The OH is runing fine with ports: non-ssl 7779 and ssl 4444
    I want to change the ssl port to 443 such that we can have the url without showing the port as https://hostname.domain/
    I have looked up the documnet http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15523_01/core.1111/e10105/ports.htm#CIHJIFHB for "managing port".
    it states "You can change the port numbers for some Oracle Fusion Middleware components, using Fusion Middleware Control, Oracle WebLogic Server Administration Console, or *the command line*."
    Because I only installed the OH, I have no the Fusion Middleware control , admin console available for making the port change. And I cannot find out how to the command line tool to make the change.
    I followed the steps in section 5.3.2.1 Enabling Oracle HTTP Server to Run as Root for Ports Set to Less Than 1024 (UNIX Only) http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15523_01/core.1111/e10105/ports.htm#CIHJEEJH
    And I did edit ssl.conf for port change to 443 ---- this is not documented in the document. I think because Oracle wants you to use the console to make the change.
    OH is not working after I made the change.
    Does anyone know how to use the commend line tool for making the port changes for OH11g?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    if u want to achieve it using JMX then u can try :
    http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=613
    Using Command Line Option WLST you can do it in ONLINE Mode...like:
    Step1). Please run the ". ./setWLSEnv.sh" script to set the CLASSPATH & PATH in the shell prompt.
    <b><font color=red>NOTE:</font></b> Run the “setWLSEnv.sh” by adding two DOTs separated by a single space …..before the actual script like following : (use ‘cd’ command to move inside the <BEA_HOME>/wlserver_10.3/server/bin) then run the following command….
    *. ./setWLSEnv.sh*
    Note: the first DOT represents that set the Environment in the current Shell, AND the second ./ represents execute the script from the current directory.
    Step2). Now in the same Shell Prompt please run the WLST Utility like following:
    <b><font color=maroon>
    java weblogic.WLST
    wls:/offline> connect()
    Please enter your username [weblogic] : weblogic
    Please enter your password [weblogic] : weblogic
    Please enter your server URL [t3://localhost:7001] : t3://localhost:7001
    Connecting to t3://localhost:7001 with userid weblogic ...
    edit()
    startEdit()
    cd ('Servers/AdminServer')
    cmo.setListenPort(9999)
    save()
    activate()
    </font></b>
    Now you NEED NOT to restart your Server to reflact these Changes....
    The Above JMX Code is also able to do it in Runtime only on the Fly.
    Thanks

  • HTTP Server - change port 7777 to 80

    Hi all!
    I have installed, in Linux_x86 (Enterprise Linux), a database 10.2.0.1, the HTTP Server from companion CD and the Apex 2.2.1.
    I want to change the default port of HTTP Server 7777 to the port 80.
    For that I change the httpd.conf:
    port:80
    listen:80
    then I follow the manual of administration of HTTP Server and I done:
    as root - chown root .apachectl
    chmod 7560 .apachectl
    I change again to user oracle and I tried to restart the HTTP Server but i can't.
    error:
    RCV: Permission denied
    Communication error with the OPMN server local port.
    Check the OPMN log files
    Now, I only can start the HTTP Server with the user root.
    Is that normal? I missed something?
    And now I can access the page of the http server but i can´t reach the Apex - when I write http://hostname/pls/apex - the browser change it to http://hostname/pls/apex/apex and gives the following error:
    Service Temporarily Unavailable
    The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.
