Change textfield on BUTTON at runtime

I have a movieclip in my symbol library named "sButton",
inside this symbol there is a textfield named "tLabel".
when I attach this clip at runtime...
this.attachMovie("sButton", "mcNew",
this.getNextHighestDepth());
... I am able to change the label inside the movieclip
with...
this.mcNew.tLabel.text = "some new label text";
Now when I change the symbol type from 'movieclip' to
'button', I can't change the textfield contents anymore... the
compiler accepts the code, but at runtiime the textfield is not
changed. Is there a way to address the elements of a button symbol
at runtime

Did you check, whatever be the suggestion you have given?
Whenever be i am selecting Select list option in Emp_Name then it is asking for LOV. Select Emp_Name from emp and select Emp_Name, Emp_ID is not woking after setting the Source Type:"SQL Query" too.
I took List of LOV and try to do the same thing in EMP_ID as you suggest but it is not woking as it is executing only first time not at run time.
Any way thanks for you help and time.

Beware of a slight bug in at least some versions. If the user dismisses the alert using the [X] close window control it fires a particular button which is not neccesarilly the default one. I always ensure that I make the default button the one which the control fires.

How can I change the state of a runtime menu item programatically?

Using LabView 6.1, I would like to change the state of the runtime menu item "Operate/Print at completion".
The goal here is to print the VI front panel according to the operator choice (OK ->print, Cancel ->don't print)
In a first release, I put a Stop function at the dialog output (activated by the cancel button) but this function stop the complete application and my idea where to stop only the VI in which the dialog is running.
In a second release, I've tried to use the "Application
control/Menu" but I receive every time an error:
Error 88 occured at Cannot modify application menu item in the printtest.vi.
Possible reasons: LabView, Runtime menu error...
Any suggestion is appreciated.

Instead of using the print at completion option, print the VI programatically if the user selects to print...open a reference to the VI you want to print and use an invoke node to print vi to printer.
Alternatively create another VI with a layout optimized for printout, set it to print at completion and run and load the data into that VI if and only if the user OKs the print...

How do I make the textField to be at the right of label and not at the bottom of the label ? Also how to adjust the length of textField and button ? The following form design looks ugly. Sorry but, i've never seen formula editor for altering position and size. If you know one please navigate me.
I guess you have updated formula editor beside "Lock size and position" - if yes its not right. There is only one editor beside 4 items and editor is actually for Suppress.
Anyways, A trick to change size a position is:
Create 4-5 copies (as many as you expect positions) of the text object. place each at different positions, right click, Format, Suppress and in formula editor for suppress write the formula: If your condition is true, Suppress=false, else true.
Position will not change but user will feel; for different conditions -position is changed

Static class to change TextField

Hi,
I'm trying to make a static class that will change the text written in a TextField inside a SWF file.
In this case I have a MovieClip with a TextField inside with a message. I want to be able to make a class that giving this TextField and a message, that will change in the button.
Certainly that I'm forgetting something obvious, I get the correct trace messages, but the textfield disappears. The initial text is "Start" and I want to change that to "OK". For now I just want to change the text, but after I want to be able to change the text format.
So far I have this:

By the trace messages everything is doing what it's supposed to do, but the TextField disappears.

How to (if possible) change the measfilename variable at runtime

Hello / Hallo (in Deutsch unten)
Is it possible to change the measfilename at runtime? I have two HBM MGC+ which need a pretty long time to initialize. Both are installed in a car. For each measurement we make I must run the DAC scheme make the measurements an stop it. Then ich change the filename for the data and we make the next measurements. This takes a lot of time.
I want to start run the DAC scheme for only one time and let it run. Then I want to trigger the measurements with buttons setting triggerconditions in the DAC scheme. To trigger the recording of the data is not the problem but how can I change the measfilename variable at runtime so that each new measurement is saved in a new file?
The example with the GenFileName function is interesting but not the solution for my problem...
has anyone an idea?

Ich möchte die Messung starten... das Abspeichern geschieht über Triggerbedingungen die von Button im DAC Plan während der Messung gesteuert werden. Ziel wäre für jede neu getriggerte Messung je eine neue Datei mit einem neuen (in der Laufzeit eingebbaren) Dateinamen anzulegen.
Hat das oder ähnliches schonmal einer gemacht und kann sachdienliche Hinweise abgeben ?

ich habe noch ein wenig herumprobiert aber es klappt nicht so richtig. Ich habe noch folgendes versucht: Daten ins Datenportal ablegen und immer nach Ende einer einzelnen Messung per Button eine Autosequenz aufrufen die die Daten in eine Datei schreibt (Dateiname über Dialogfeld eingebbar). Das klappt auch... nur wenn ich dann in der Autoseq. den Datenbereich komplett lösche (DATADELALL) und eine neue Messsequenz starten will stürzt das Messprog. mit Runtimeerror ab. Irgendwie kommt der vermutlich nicht klar damit, dass der Messwertzähler während der Laufzeit wieder auf 0 gesetzt werden muss.
Eine fortlaufende Speicherung mit anschließender Sortierung wollte ich auch schon machen aber bei fast 200 Messkanälen mit 800Hz häufen sich einfach soviele Daten an, dass die Messdatei riesig werden würde.

The reuqirement is this:
A user attaches doucments ( using the Generic Object Services to attach document ) while creating/changing Purchase Requisition (ME51N / ME52N).
Now when any user goes to see the docuemnts attached to the PR, he selects the 'Attachement List' from the context menu, he should only be able to read it and should not be allowed to change or delete the document. For this we need to disable the 'change' and 'delete' buttons from the toolbar.

Probably you have uncommented the call to super class when you reimplement the method on child class (z class)
I just implement the same thing now and it worked for me. Take a look:
1 - Modify the SGOSATTR table by SM30, just write a Z class (in my case CL_GOS_SRV_ATTACHMENT_CREATE) .
2 - Create/inheridt a subclass (not a copy) in SE24 of the standard class.
3 - Implement the method CHECK_STATUS in the z class. Note that the call to method on super class came commented. You only uncomment if you want to also execute a standard code in the super class.
Here is my code:

I have solved the issue Alhamdulillah by the foll. method:
1. Copied CL_GOS_SRV_ATTACHMENT_LIST to ZCL_GOS_SRV_ATTACHMENT_LIST
2. In ZCL_GOS_SRV_ATTACHMENT_LIST there is a method called: CHECK_STATUS. I overwrote with my check;
on_mode_changed( 'D' ). --- For display
on_mode_changed( 'E' ). --- For edit mode.
3. In SGOS tcode, added VIEW_ATTA to point to ZCL_GOS_SRV_ATTACHMENT_LIST

Acrobat 9.1 Mac How do you change from Radio buttons to Check boxes?

I have a DMV Form I Downloaded and had to convert to PS then back to PDF (written originally on PC Acrobat was in XML format).
So on new form, I am able to add fields. I used the the Forms manager to automatically create the fields. Fields that were made Radio Buttons should have been Check boxes. How do change the Radio buttons to check boxes. There are a lot of them and I don't wish to have to re-key them in.

Well when I click on the box it shows a Check mark in the box. That exactly what I need because in the instructions it requires a Check mark in each of the check boxes. Normally the Med form is sent as a paper copy from DMV every two years.
Also another Tip. A PDF that has XML Content. (PC Acrobat Version).
If you want a usable PDF on Mac and get rid of the XML do the following:
Open the XML Based PDF on Mac Acrobat 9.X .
Now choose export and save as Postscript File (.ps).
Now locate and drop on Distiller 9.X.
When PDF created will be a Pristine exact replica of the XML file except Mac Acrobat can edit and create forms with it.

Can You Change the Highlighted Button in the Find Font Palette?

I have several hundred spreads that I converted from Quark to InDesign CC and a few fonts are missing, so I need to replace them. I can use the "Find/Replace" window to take care of most of them using the "find format" function, but one doesn't show up as a choice, so I have to change it using the Find Font palette. I select the missing font name and then select the replacement. Then, if I hit the "enter" button on the keyboard, the palette closes because the highlighted button is the "Done" button. Is there a way to change the highlighted button to the "Change All" one?

Thanks for the reply. I tried using the tab key and although it does change the highlighted button, you can't just press "enter" to select it. I also tried ALT+A (option+A) and it did nothing. I should have mentioned that I'm using a Mac.

Change in back button behavior

We are upgrading from ColdFusion 9 to ColdFusion 11. We noticed a change in back button behavior. On pages running CF 9 the back button works, but on pages running CF 11, when clicking the back button, we get a browser "confirm form resubmission" message. Since it is the same browser, it is clearly a change in ColdFusion. Does anyone know when the change was made? Is there a setting that controls the behavior?

We should ignore the difference in Coldfusion version for a moment. It might just be that the previous behaviour was incorrect and what you now observe, with CF11, is the correct behaviour.
A form-resubmit warning is essential. In fact, it can even be vital in certain circumstances. It is telling you that someone, some process or some thread has attempted to resubmit a form.
In your case, clicking the back button apparently refreshes the action page of the form. This is analogous, in business terms, to repeating an order that has already been placed. The related validation code, queries, etc. will run once again. Obviously an unwelcome situation.

Actually there is more than just the one extension that AVG might install, reinstall AVG Free without the Link Scanner component as mentioned in the above link and always refuse additional baggage offered during an install -- AVG Free does not ask in the free version it just includes it and there are no options once installed in the Free version for components..
Also make sure you don't have the "Ask Toolbar" or other toolbars you did not ask for. see the same link above for Toolbar problems.
It is definitely an extension that causing the behavior you see.

Iu2019m trying to simply change the Server Name for a Crystal Report at runtime and it will not let me. Hereu2019s the code below. The database is identical to my development server database. This should be easy to do as I did below. I use SQL Server 2005(SPK 2) and Visual Basic 2008. I use the Crystal Reports 2008 standalone designer(seperate program), not the older one in the VS IDE. When I run the code it accepts changes to the user name and password but ignores any change to the ServerName or DatabaseName. Why?

Yes, you have to simply loop through all the tables in the report and assign each one the same logon info and then reassign the report and refresh the report viewer. No need to use a .Net Dataset here. Eventhough I got the answer myself from studying the Crystal API reference thanks to all that answered! Hopefully this will help others. PS - Hopefully, in the future Microsoft will improve(and document) its own report control and designer. Right now it's still crude and needs a lot more development to approach the usefulness that the Access Report Designer has. It's rediculous to depend on a third party reporting control(all business programs require reporting) when Visual Studio should have had/built one included from day one.

Changing installation path of the runtime? Install by User?

Hello,
I'm currently facing a situation where I need to deploy an
AIR application to users who do not have admin rights.
I know that AIR does not allow doing that. But I've tested
that one of the main thing preventing from installing AIR on this
definite environment is that writing is not allowed to program
files folder.
I've run tests using other install packaging tools and manage
to make it working perfectly by targeting mydoc folder instead of
program files folder and also by specifying a per user install.
Everything works fine (even more advanced features not possible
with the official installer like environment variables, patches...)
I wonder if there's a way to say AIR to be installed on a per
user base and to change the path of the runtime installation (this
may not break the update mechanism because as far as I tested it,
it just changes app information regarding its path).
I understand clearly why Adobe do not want to make AIR
standalone because it is against the entire focus of this
technology. But I've read that plenty of people are in situation
where they may use AIR to develop rich software application to
produce tools internally of a company, without having to go with
the expensive and time consuming process of going through the
regular IT installation procedure. On the one hand Adobe may loose
the advantage of having an entire company making AIR available on
their computers worldwide, on the other hand they may improve in
term of AIR latest version adoption and making this technology
considered lightweight, flexible and useful technology within big
international companies internal use. (and it may be a step before
the full adoption within the company?)

This is a security feature, preventing scripts from accessing the full path of a file to be uploaded using <input type="file">.
In earlier versions of Firefox, your script might have asked the user's permission to access privileged information, but this feature was removed in the past few versions of Firefox.
Why do you need the full path?
