Change Value in one LOV depending on value in another LOV

hi forum.
i have two Lov's. The first has continents and second has countries. my design is when user select continent, related countries should show up. now i can do that when i submit on the change of continent LOV very easily but, i dont want to refresh or reload the page as some other functions are disturbed by this, i want the countries values to change with out page being reloaded. please let me know how can i do it. i m a dumb ass so answers like "use dynamic action" or "user java script" are no different than ancient Greek to me. so plz reply elaborately as a matter of compassion.

Can u pls try like this,
Two Lov's Namely P1_Continent and P1_Country
In the second Lov P1_country Please refer Cascading LOV Parent Item(s)="P1_continent" and make Optimal refresh as yes.
and are using the select statement for second lov like this
Select country from table_name where continent=:P1_country.
Can pls make change in the List lov ie P1_continent Null Display Value=- select Continent-.

Is there a formula to change the date in a cell in one column to the date in another column on the same row based on the text in a third cell on the same row? For example, I want the date in G3 to change to the date in J3 when the text in H3 says Completed.

Change value of another field based on the value of selectOneRadio

Hello
I need to display one of two city fields based on the value of a radio group. If the value of the radio group is "Yes", then display the non mandatory city field, if the value is "No", then display mandatory city field. Please can someone help me? The code is below

Formula to populate one Person or Group column depending on the value of another Person Group column

I am looking for a way to popluate the Account information of a Person based on another column where there name in another column. I have Two Columns "Name" which is a Person or Group information type and User Account which
is also a Person or Group Information type. When an Invidividuals name is entered into the Name column, I what the User Account column to prepolulate.

Save SELECT_LIST_FROM_QUERY changed value

Hello.
We have a tabular form with APEX_ITEM.SELECT_LIST_FROM_QUERY LOV as item in query.
List shows in forms as expected.
Column attribute is set to Display as Text (based on LOV, does not save state).
Now users want to save LOV value when they change it.
What value must be set in column attribute, so the changed value can be saved.
We tried all the other settings, but then the LOV isn't displayed correctly or it doesn't work.
Maybe APEX_ITEM.SELECT_LIST_FROM_QUERY LOV changed value can't be saved in tabular form?
Any idea?

Hello.
For one column in my tabular form i need "select list".
I can create my own LOV and set column to "select list (named LOV)".
But my LOV must have where sentence which uses another column value (from the same row).
And that value can be different in every row - that means that LOV will be different in every row.
But i can't (or don't know) how to write where with another column value in it - for LOV.

Changing value of a field in mapping as per condition

Hi Experts,
I have one requirement in IDoc mapping to EDI structure.
I want to change the value of a field depending on the condition. But the problem is the field is mapped at higher level than the condition.
For example:
Say i have a source structure in IDoc with name Source1 and target structure Target1. Source1 is mapped to Target1. Both of these structures have multiple occurances. So in general out structure will look something like below:
Source1-> Target1
Source2->Target2
Source3->Target3
Now i want to change value of one field from Target1 structure depending on Value of one field from Source3. At the runtime when Target1 structure is getting filled Source3 value is not visible so I am not able to set a proper condition.
When at lower level we get value of Source3 can we change value of already filled structure Target1?

Change value of a typedef in parallels to another running action

Well, I have a problem with my VI.
To summarize I use a Vi « IdsVg.vi » to achieve some measurements process.
This one uses an action engine as a sub-vi to store data of the front panel and to precede complementary actions. The front panel is a strict typedef…
I programmed the Vi avoiding to use sequence structures in order to be able to do other actions on the front panel in parallels. Nevertheless I’m running out of ideas for solving my problem.
The problem:
I would like to change values (time constant, Boolean of graph) of the front panel at any instant when the main vi is running. The actual problem is: when I start the program, using register event I can change values of the front panel, but when the program is running the while loop in which it gets the measurement, it isn’t possible to change parameter of the front panel…
Is there a solution or a trick??

Putting in the project file does not help much, good try though. The actual files are missing though, so nothing shows up.
I suggest you create a separate producer consumer loop in your main vi. The vi retrieving the data could pass the relevant data (producer) and the consumer loop will then process the data and update the fron tpannel. Note, only the producer consumer loop will update the front pannel.
You would not need a sequence structure to control the update. The producer consumer loop will only execute when you provide the necessary data.

How to use one variable as a default value for another variable?

Hi Experts,
Is it possible to use one variable as a default value for another variable?
For example:
Variable 1 = current calendar year month
Variable 2 = mandatory input ready variable for calendar year month
I want to use variable 1 as default value for variable 2, but also have the ability to change the month if required.

u can use replacement path variable
in that case u can replace the values of 1 variable with the another variable...
but u cannot do this setting
u cannot make variable 2 as mandatory
u cannot enter value for variable 2
because by default it will take the value of variable 1
u have to make follow settings
variable 2
name , technical name
processing by = replacement path
infoobject = ocalmonth
next tab
replaced by another variable
variable name
offset start , offset lenght
save and hit okey

Id from one table showing value from another

I have an article id (rs_comments.id_com) but I would like it
to take this data and collect the value from another table.
I have joined the two tables with:

rs_comments.idart_com needs to be equal to rs_comments.id_art
displaying the value from rs_comments.title_art
How would I go about doing this. There only seems to be an
option in DW to do this with a dynamic list/menu but I just want to
display the text without option to change it.

Delta Extractor Is not picking changed values

Hi All,
When the values or texts in a PO are changed the delta extractor is picking up the changed values as deltas (provided the changes where done in PO <b>Header</b> or <b>Item Overview</b>) but when a PO values or text that are changed in the <b>Item Details</b> the delta mechanism is not picking up the changed values (the fields whose values are changed were initially not in the LO Cockpit Extractor they where added and the values to these fields are populated using an ABAP Program)
Is there a reason that Delta mechanism doesn't work for fields that are not delivered by the SAP Extractor or do we need to modify the code in order to collect these changed values by Delta Mechanism (Direct Delta as the Update Mode).
Please let me know if anybody came across the same problem .

this is another story.....
You'll have to
- enhance the PO items table (EKPO) with your fields
- activate the right customer exit for purchase orders (search in SMOD; or in this forum..) and populate your fields during this exit. if the field needs to be maintainable by the R3 user, you'll have find a SAP exit (again SMOD) in order customize one of the screen and populate your fields in R3.
- use another exit to populate the new fields to LO delta queue
- enhance your BW extract structure (done)
- and so on...
As you can imagine, the above get quite more complicated (an expert in MM shall support you) and it needs to be approved by the PM since you'll modify R3.
But that's basically it!

I have a requirement to populate value A based on selection of value B in differenet component.
I have a web ui screen to create a complaint ( Component A ). After saving when I am clicking on follow up button, it will take me to next web ui screen ( Component B ) i.e. service order. Here I have a status field and after its selection when I have save. I also want to change value A of component A field.
Kindly suggest..how can I achive this.

Hi Narendra,
It depends on what the exact fields are. If you change a value in component A and this change goes to the BOL layer, then this changed value should always be accessible in component B if you use the same BOL object and BOL relation to access the data. And you can always change the value from component B and it should already change in component A. The only thing you need to ensure is to call publish_current( ) method on the node where you change the value or call a BOL code modify( ).

I have a javascript function that works fine if P2_BANK_ASSIGNED is a text item. But if I change it to an LOV is doesn't work. How do I disable an LOV on value of another LOV?

Change value table cdpos

Can we fetch changed values stored in cdpos related to fields eindt,menge, netpr.since a single table doesn't contain all these fields when i am using select statement for cdpos i am not getting proper idea about tabname in where condition .i can put the table name overthere but if more than one table is needed then how to use select query for cdpos .actually i am running shor of information.

in where condiiton u can write
tabname = 'VBAK' or
tabname = 'VBUK'

How To dynamically change values in custom form

Requirement is to change values in custom form dynamically that are passed by Global variables through standard form .
I have used forms personalization to call custom form and passing some parameters to custom form using global variables.
Now i have to change values displayed in custom form(already opened) when user moves from one record to another record.
I cannot change the standard form.Only i have write logic in custom form that dynamically changes values as user moves from one record to another in standard form.
Global variables values will be different for each record.
Pls let me know how i can achieve this.
