Change varialbe into Customer Exit type

Hi all,
   Is it possible to change an existing BEx variable from default type into Customer Exit type?
   I know we can't do this in query designer. Any other approach, like modifying a DB table?
Thanks and best regards,
Aaron

Hi DeeCh.
If you want to populate the value before the variabel screen input.then please follow below code
case i_vnam.
  when 'ZPKEYDT'.
  if i_step = 1.
    l_s_range-low  = sy-datum..
      l_s_range-sign = 'I'.
      l_s_range-opt = 'EQ'.
      APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range.
      clear l_s_range.
          endif.
          endcase.

  • Problem to create change pointer for custom message type - Idoc creation

    Hi,
    We want to create IDOC and send it out when the data of "planning calendar" changes. So we are trying to generate change pointers whenever entries in Table T439I (Planniing calendar) data change.
    We created a message type, activated change pointers generally and maintained change relevant fields for message type (not sure if this step is done correctly). But not getting any change pointer in table BDCP2 when I create a new planning calendar in MD25.
    Can anybody help / guide?

    Thanks once again,
    I had linked idoc type and message type in we82. Now after i activate the change pointers. I try to generate the IDOC type using BD21. It gives me the error message :<b> "Message type ZP2PPROJ_MSG cannot be sent with change pointers"</b>
    whereas in my segments i am using all the master data only (i.e. PRPS, PROJ,PRHI). Please throw some light on this.
    Also please clarify, do i need to make an entry of this custome message type in the partner profile ?

  • Change pointers for custom message type

    Hi All,
      Please help me with questions.
    1. The requirement is to add two additional fields to CSCK table and then activate change pointers for COSMAS. My question is when I activate the change pointers for COSMAS will it send this two z fields when there is a change?
    2. I dont see a message type in BD50 for a standard IDOC Internal_order? Can I add that standard message type? How can I do this? WIll this create an IDOC when ever there is a change in data?
    Thanks.

    Hello Oscar,
    1. Which changes should be relevant for creation of COSMAS-IDoc, you have to define in BD52.
    2. You need to define INTERNAL_ORDER in WE20. In BD64 you add BAPI "InternalOrder.SaveReplica", filters can be added.

  • Displaying Customer Exit Variable with derived value from another ODS

    Hi All,
    Sorry if this question has been answered before.  I searched the forums and could not find anything specific to my problem.
    I am new to BEx Query.  Customer is requesting a variable(s) be created which will be displayed as a column along with other CKF and RKF.  This query is a payroll query for US/Canada.  This new variable will be based on the user input date for the query.  We are to take this date and go look up the actual pay date for the pay period to which the user input date belongs.  The pay date is stored in another ODS.
    So far, as far as the changes to the Customer Exit ZXRSRU01 are concerned, I would perform the logic when I_STEP = 2.  Do a basic selection off the second ODS, derive the pay date, and store in range table E_T_Range.
    The data displayed off the user input date is displayed in rows.  This is done six times, going back seven days for each row (first row is data for period user entered date to user entered date - 7 days; second row is data for period user entered date - 7 days to user entered date - 14 days; etc ...).  For this to happen  correctly, I am assuming the variable(s) are to to have characteristic types 'Not ready for input', 'Mandatory', 'Customer Exit', and 'Single Value'.
    My question is ... How do I display the six variables in columns (how are they to be defined in the query) and the characteristics I list above, are they correct? Does this need to be a replacement path variable?
    Thanks.

    Hi Amir,
    What i can understand from u r requirement is you want to few columns that will show something like below,
    User entered date = x
    Period of X to Period of (X-7)       Period of X to Period of (X-14).....
    This can be done by CMOD for variable only.
    Logic steps :
    1) Take the user input.
    2) Find out the period by using T009B table and store in temp variable.
    3) Do day -7 and find out period for the same
    4) Assing period of X to ls_range-high range and X-7 to ls_range-low.
    Let me know if you have any doubt

  • WAD Variable screen not displaying when using a customer exit variable

    Hello,
    I have a query which has 3 variables, one of which is of type customer exit and gets populated with a default value.
    When I run this query on the web from within BEX it works fine, however when I run it within any BI7 web template the variable screen does not pop up. Of course if I remove or change the offending customer exit variable the variable screen pops up.
    I have switched the display variable check-box to on, and it still doesn't work.
    Is this a 'feature' of BI7?
    Many thanks
    Sarah

    Fixed it myself by tweaking the URL....
    Added &VARIABLE_SCREEN=X to the end of the url and the variable screen now pops up. Its not an ideal solution but it works.
    Anyone have any better ideas?

  • Urgent - Related to generic customer exit for Query

    Hello Experts,
    We have a query whose selection screen has two user input variables, plant and fiscper. Let say user enters 001 plant adn fiscper 0012007. We have about 100 rows for this selection. Each row has three date fields D1, D2 and D3. we have requirement that out of these 100 records only those records which meet the condition that D1 falls between D2 and D3 should be displayed as query result, others should be ignored.
    Is there any generic customer exit (Like we have customer exit to manipulate virtual keyfigures) that gets called before query result is displayed where we can play around with the query result before it gets displayed? I am not talking about user exits for customer exit variables.
    Please throw some light on this.
    Thanks
    Sundar

    Hello Sundar,
    You can use conditions for the requirement mentioned.
    Create a Contition on date D1 with operator "Between" and instead of hardcoding the values for the condition use variable entries.There you can create a variable with Customer exit type - to get in the selected range of dates between D2 and D3.
    Thanks

  • Formula Variable Customer Exit

    Hi Gurus,
    I have a requirement where I have to read the one formula variable value ( Replacement path with attribute value ) into customer exit of another characteristic variable .
    For example :
    I have one characteristic formula variable called VAR1 ( which gives the value ) .This value I want to use it in customer exit of another varable  VAR2 ( is it possible to use one formula variable value into another variable ) which I want to use it in Customer exit.

    VAR2  -  Simple Variable with out User Input.
    Example is as below :
    Formula Variable ( VAR1 i.e PLND_DLVRY )  based on this value I want to define another variable APO Version in the Customer
    If it is possible please guide me what is the process. Also I want to make sure which I_STEP I need to use...
    Please guide the best solution.

    Hi Krishnan / Arvind,
    Sorry I was thinking 0PLND_DELRY is nav attribute for 0MAT_PLANT. But 0PLND_DELRY is the quantity field so I can't make this field as a nav attribute. Right now I am populating directly in the Cube using master data. my cube  data looks like
    Fields Description
    F1 = Version
    F2= Material
    F3= Plant
    F4= 0PLND_DELRY
    F5= Calendar Yr/Month
    F6= Concensus Forecast ( Key Figure )
    Condition is Combination of Material and Plant will define 0PLND_DELRY ( Delivery Time )

    Calendar Yr / Mnth = 2011/07
    Current Value = 4000
    Lead Time = 90,  offset = -3
    Version = 201107-3 = 201104 Then
    Prior Value = 4500
    Variance = 4000-4900 = -900

    Version = 201107-1 = 201106 Then
    Prior Value = 4500
    Variance = 8000-7500 = -500
    Every month we get same data with different version and different numbers for all months. Please advise me what is the best solution we can do

  • Customer Exit - Fill variable depending on query view name

    Hi
    We're running BW 7.0
    We have a query which is used for broadcasting and as well for user input. That's why we have a variable which is default filled by a customer exit. This variable is the week and is default filled: fist week of year up to actual week.
    But now we have for the same query different selection requirenments.
    The same query should be send by email with
    - first week of year up to actual week
    - previous week
    Because of dynamic variables the calweek needs to be filled by customer exit and worked until now fine - until a second requirenment was coming (separat broadcast only with previous week).
    I don't like the idea to copy the query because of maintenance work.
    I'd like to have several views - and depending on the view name etc. I would fill the customer variable. But I don't get the query view name into customer exit - right?
    Do you have any other ideas?
    How do you handle such requirenments?
    Thx
    Roger

    Hi Helder,
    I understand your requirement but I don't understand the solution you are using. I think it's a bit tricky.
    What I would do is:
    Create three variables:
    - VAR1: Single value, mandatory, ready for input, customer exit. Used to store "User input date"
    - VAR2: Select option, customer exit, not ready for input. Used to store Valid From restriction.
    - VAR3: Select option, customer exit, not ready for input. Used to store Valid to restriction.
    Then, use this code:
    WHEN 'VAR2'.
    IF I_STEP = 2.
    READ TABLE I_T_VAR_RANGE INTO LOC_VAR_RANGE
    with key VNAM = 'VAR1'.
    CLEAR L_S_RANGE.
    L_S_RANGE-LOW = LOC_VAR_RANGE-LOW.
    L_S_RANGE-SIGN = 'I'.
    L_S_RANGE-OPT = 'LE'.
    APPEND L_S_RANGE TO E_T_RANGE.
    ENDIF.
    WHEN 'VAR3'.
    IF I_STEP = 2.
    READ TABLE I_T_VAR_RANGE INTO LOC_VAR_RANGE
    with key VNAM = 'VAR1'.
    CLEAR L_S_RANGE.
    L_S_RANGE-LOW = LOC_VAR_RANGE-LOW.
    L_S_RANGE-SIGN = 'I'.
    L_S_RANGE-OPT = 'GE'.
    APPEND L_S_RANGE TO E_T_RANGE.
    ENDIF.
    I think this should work, and you'll have three independent variables used for one purpose each.
    Hope this helps.

    Diego

  • Variable - Custom Exit

    Hi,
    I need some help for the customer exit. I am explaining you the scenario. Please suggest. point will be assigned to good answers.
    I have an infocube with one of the infoobject as 0FISCPER. There is a variable defined on 0FISCPER  say ZVAR1. There is a Z table in which there is a number maintained against each record of 0FISCPER ...
    Please see the ex below.
    005.2008              3
    006.2008              4
    007.2008              3
    008.2008              5.
    I need to read the number from the above table against theb user input period.
    Suppose the user enters 008.2008 then I have to read the number from the table i.e. 5.
    I have to display the report 5 period back to the entered period by the user. i.e query should retrieve the data for period.
    003.2008
    004.2008
    005.2008
    006.2008
    007.2008
    1) Do I have to define 2 variable for this ? Read one variable and in I_STEP = 2 populate the other variable or 2) Can i use the same variable and read the table and then in I_STEP = 2 , I will modify the same variable.
    Please suggest.
    Regards,
    Bill

    Edited by: Bill Bryan on Jul 2, 2008 5:23 PM

    Hi Bill,
    To elaborate with what Naveen said. You require 2 variables on 0FISCPER.
    Let the ZVAR1 be of user input in type and ZVAR2 be the Customer exit type.
    In the code for the ZVAR2 follow these steps.
    1. Read the value of the User Input value in ZVAR1.
    2. Based on the ZVAR1 value read the Z Table for the number.
    3. Then build the logic to derive the back periods based on the number read.
    4. Then add this to the E_T_RANGE table.
    Hope this is clear. Let me know if you need the code.

  • How to change a Manual Input variable into a customer exit variable?

    Hello,
    I need to change the "processing by" option of an used BEx variable from "Manual Input" to "Customer Exit" but this field is not available (= in grey) in modification.
    Does it exist a tip or a standard program to modify this no-accessible field of an existing BEx variable?
    Thanks in advance for your answers,
    Samuel

    Hi,
    I don't think it's possible (unless tweaking some parameters directly in some tables, as stated in the previous post) so you would have to create a new one and replace it.
    Hope it helps,

    I have a customer exit variable (0CALYEAR) in two columns. In the first column the customer exit variable and in the second column the customer exit variable with an offset -1.

    I can fill the dropdownbox in the web template but when I change the year, it jumps back to the year selected by the customer exit. How can I change the variable in the new web application designer (2004s) during the navigation? Has any one experience with such a problem?
