User entry value  passing to Customer Exit

Hi,
I need the code to pass the value of User Entery into Customer Exit variable.
Customer will enter the date range and I want to pass the same date rage to exit variable.
If any one has code for this please let me know.
I found exit code in SDN but that is for Month or to derive other date .....but in my case I want to pass the same values.
Thanks,
Mayank

Problem is solved: Used the below code
DATA: L_S_RANGE TYPE RSR_S_RANGESID.
DATA: LOC_VAR_RANGE LIKE RRRANGEEXIT.
CASE I_VNAM.
  WHEN 'Customer Exit Vaiable'.
    IF I_STEP = 2.
      LOOP AT I_T_VAR_RANGE INTO LOC_VAR_RANGE
WHERE VNAM = 'Variable having input valus'.
        CLEAR L_S_RANGE.
        l_s_range-low  =   LOC_VAR_RANGE-LOW  .
        L_S_RANGE-HIGH =   LOC_VAR_RANGE-HIGH .
        L_S_RANGE-SIGN = 'I'.
        L_S_RANGE-OPT = 'BT'.
        APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range.
      ENDLOOP.
    ENDIF.
endcase.
Thanks

  • Validation of users entries for variables in customer exit

    Hi,
I like to validate the user's entries a queries variables popup and open the variables popup once more if there are unwanted entries. I think I have to raise an exception in the customer exit for reporting, but corresponding function exit does not provide an exception. Can someone provide me a solution? Is there a solution without modifying the function module? (EXIT_SAPLRRS0_001)
    Kind regards,
    Simon

    Hello,
you can take help of foll code structure to call an exception in the screen.
    IF i_step = 3.
    LOOP at i_t_var_range INTO l_s_var where vnam = 'needed_variable_name'.
    if needed_variable_name-low NE 'ABC'.
    CALL FUNCTION 'RRMS_MESSAGE_HANDLING'
    EXPORTING
    I_CLASS = 'RSBBS'
    I_TYPE = 'E'
    I_NUMBER = '000'
I_MSGV1 = 'Please enter Correct values'.
    raise again.
    ENDIF.
    ENDLOOP.
    Hope this helps.
Also in case of any mulitple condtions you can play around the code.

  • Default value of BeX customer Exit variable not Displayed in WeBI??

    Hello Experts,
We are stuck with a problem where WeBI report is created on top of BeX query and we are not able to see the default value of Bex Customer exit variable in WeBI run. Here is the complete scenario:
    1. One restricted KF is created in BeX, restricted with Customer exit variable on net Due date. And this variable is mandatory, ready for input, and Default value in calculated is user exit as current Week's Monday.
    2. So, by default KF data should be restricted to Monday of current week, if user does not change this value.
    3. Now, WeBI report is created on top of this Bex query, and all is working fine, i.e. we are getting variable as Prompt in WeBI, but Default value is not shown while Running the Webi Report.
So, need your inputs on the same, if default values from BeX in WeBI is supported or not? If yes, why this is happening, and how to resolve it?
Please notice, the restrcition is in KF only, it is not a separate restrcition on Net Due date in Filter area or in Defualt area of BeX
and we are on SAP BW 7.1 and BOXI 3.1 SP4.

  • How to pass parameter values to a customer exit web item (WAD)

    Hi gurus,
I have a wad with a data provider and a filter panel filtering that dp by using a variable. There is also a customer exit which saves the values of that variable into a z table.
How can I pass the values of the filter panel to the customer exit web item?
    Thanks in advance,
    Rob

Can you clarify your scenario? Which is the case you're talking about?
    1) You want to pass a parameter from OmniPortlet to a PL/SQL procedure.
    2) You want to pass a parameter from a PL/SQL procedure to OmniPortlet.
In both cases the most obvious way of doing it is through request (URL) parameters.
Render a link in your portlet (either in OmniPortlet or using PL/SQL) that invokes a portal page, containing the other portlet.
Both OmniPortlet and PL/SQL allow you to wire and access page parameters.
Take a look at the Using Parameter and Events section of the Portal User's Guide and the Parameters and Events section of the Portal Developer's Guide.

  • Variable multiple single value filled with customer exit used in FOX form.

Hi guys, I definitly need your help in the following scenario:
I have variable (multiple single value) filled in a customer exit and use it in web template. There it is used in the drop down box for selecting a special date in the analysis item. And there comes the first question:Why the results from the customer exit are written in the way "date1; date2; date3" in one line? They should appear line by line in rows. How can I influence that? I tried both data binding types, "variable" and "characteristic".
Now a button raises a planning function with a fox formula which should write the selected date (from the drop down box) in a customer table using "call function".
I always get the error, that I need to restrict the variable to "single value". Why do I have to do that and if necessary how can I do that? Other planning functions without the fox formula also work properly with using the selection from the drop down box.
    I appreciate you help.
    Kind regards, Anja.

    Hi Vamsi.,
    Try this code.
    WHEN 'PREVIOUS_YEAR_1'.
IF I_STEP = 2. "after the popup of user entry
    LOOP AT I_T_VAR_RANGE INTO LOC_VAR_RANGE
    WHERE VNAM = 'ZCURRENT_YEAR_PERIOD'.
    break-point.
    IF SY-SUBRC EQ 0.
    WA_YEAR = LOC_VAR_RANGE-LOW+0(4). "Year
    WA_MONTH = LOC_VAR_RANGE-LOW+5(3). "Period
    WA_YEAR = WA_YEAR - 1.
    CONCATENATE WA_YEAR wa_month INTO WA_FISC_PERD .
    CONCATENATE WA_YEAR WA_MONTH1 INTO L_S_RANGE-HIGH .
    L_S_RANGE-SIGN = 'I'.
    L_S_RANGE-OPT = 'EQ'.
    APPEND L_S_RANGE TO E_T_RANGE.
    ENDIF.
    L_S_RANGE-SIGN = 'I'.
    L_S_RANGE-OPT = 'BT'.
    APPEND L_S_RANGE TO E_T_RANGE.
    ENDIF.

  • How to capture user input for customer exit processing?

I need to calculate the number of working days elapsed in the current fiscal quarter BASED on the USER INPUT on the reporting front.  i.e., say the fiscal quarter started on 1 July 2005 and if the user enters 10 July 2005, I should get the value 8 (Assume that Monday through Friday are all workdays).  If the user enters 12 July 2005, I should get 10.  I have written customer exits and know how to use factory calendar, but <b>THE CHALLENGE</b> is how do I <b>CAPTURE</b> the user input and use it in my exit?  During the varible definition, if I select the check box "Ready for input" then the customer exit is not being processed and unless I check that box I can't get a user entry!  If I look at the import values in the customer exit, I see i_t_var_range with type rrs0_t_var_range.  My strong feeling is that this parameter gets the user input, but I am unable to use it as the customer exit is not being called if I make the user to input the data.  Based on the empirical evidence, I felt that user input and customer exit can not co-exist!!  Please somebody prove me wrong and let me know how can I use the user input to process my "customer-exit" variable.  I would really appreciate any input from the BW community here.

    Hi Sameer,
Most likely, I'm missing something, but I think that the answer is very simple.
    CASE I_VNAM.
    WHEN 'YOUR_CUSTOMER_EXIT_VAR'.
IF I_STEP = 2. “ After selecting of input variable
    LOOP AT I_T_VAR_RANGE INTO LOC_VAR_RANGE
    WHERE VNAM = 'USER_INPUT_VAR'.
    CLEAR L_S_RANGE.
    L_S_RANGE-LOW = LOC_VAR_RANGE-LOW(4).
    APPEND L_S_RANGE TO E_T_RANGE.
    ENDLOOP.
    ENDIF.
    ENDCASE.
In this typical user exit coding you have a user entered value in LOC_VAR_RANGE (originally in I_T_VAR_RANGE) and you construct your user exit variable value in E_T_RANGE.

  • Excluding values in Customer exit variable

    Hi,
I need to excludes some values, but should have a option to include these values in variable screen depends on different users requirement.Default this values will be excluded. Please help me writing this code.
    Will assign points,
    VJ

    Hi,
You can try using a select option variable without writing any code.
There you can specify default values as exclusion and if user enters their own values those will be included automatically.
Else you need to create a dummy variable (user input) to get the user input and other variable (customer exit) to include the values if user enters / exclude default values. If you still need some code sample let me know.
    hope this helps.

  • Using variable values form parametrized URL in Customer Exit in i_step = 1

    Hello BW experts,
I call a parametrized URL to a Web Template that has a Query with the variable VAR1:
    http://XXX?...&CMD=LDOC&template_id=TEMP1&VAR_NAME_1=VAR1&VAR_VALUE_EXT_1=2006
Then I try to access the value of VAR1 in i_step = 1 in the Customer Exit for BEx variables in order to determine the value for a customer exit variable VAR2:
    WHEN 'VAR2'.
        IF i_step = 1.
          READ TABLE i_t_var_range INTO var_range
            WITH KEY vnam = 'VAR1'.
          fl_var_range-sign = 'I'.
          fl_var_range-opt = 'EQ'.
          fl_var_range-low = *some operation with var_range
          APPEND fl_var_range TO e_t_range.
        ENDIF.
The problem is that VAR1 contains either the default values (if the variable is set to have default variables) or is empty (if there are no default variables defined). It does not retrieve the value in the URL in the Customer Exit, but displays it correctly in the variable screen.
Is there any way I can acces the URL parameter in the Customer Exit?
Thanks for any answers in advance.
    Michael

    Gili,
thanks for your answer. The problem was, though, that the first value determines the behavior of the variable screen by setting the value of a customer exit variable.
My goal was to have two variable screens. In the first a date is chosen and in the second a node of a time-dependant hierarchy is chosen. If one enters the date in the same screen as the hierarchy, the valid hierarchy for the date is not displayed.
I solved the problem now in following way:
<b>1. Saving the value in SAP Memory as a parameter.</b> The parameter has to be defined in SE80. A Dummy Web Template with a query on the same Infoprovider with just the two InfoObjects (Year/Month) displays a variable screen for Month/Year. In addition there is a Dummy Customer Exit variable that is needed in order to pass the variable values (month/year) into SAP Memory. Using JavaScript in the Dummy WebTemplate the second Web Template with the actual query is called without displaying anything else than the variable screen.
    WHEN 'DUMMY_CUSTOMEREXIT_VAR'.
        data: w_date like sy-datum
        IF i_step = 2.
          READ TABLE i_t_var_range INTO var_range
            WITH KEY vnam = 'VAR1'.
        do your peration
        i.e.  w_date(4)+2 = var_range-low.
                 w_date(6)+2 = var_range-high.
SET PARAMETER ID 'ZBW_PARA1' FIELD w_date.
        ENDIF.
<b>2. Retrieving the value from SAP Memory</b> Before displaying the variable screen, the chosen date is retrieved from SAP Memory and used to set the date for a customer exit variable for the hierarchy validity date.
    WHEN 'VAR2'.
        IF i_step = 1.
GET PARAMETER ID 'ZBW_PARA1' FIELD w_date.
        do some operation with
          APPEND fl_var_range TO e_t_range.
        ENDIF.
It is quite a comlex construct, but it works....

  • Over-writting Customer Exit Value

    Hi,
I've a "customer exit" variable 'Z1', which is allowed "ready for input" as well. Z1 is based on 0FISCPER and I set the variable to current date using customer exit in I_STEP = 1.
Based on the value contained in Z1, I calculate date ranges for two other customer exit variables 'Z2' and 'Z3' in I_STEP = 2, to make default criteria for report. And reports shows values of Z1, Z2, and Z3 in each column respectively.
As Z1 is "ready for input", it allows user to enter value and change shows in Z1 column but Z2 and Z3 still being calculated on initial value of Z1.
Please let me know how it is possible to over-write the initial value? Process flow would be: if user enters any value in Z1 it should ignore the initial values set by customer exit.
Your urgent help would be highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Shabbar

    Ali,
You are on the right path. Calculate the default value of z1 in i_step = 1, and then calculate z2 and z3 in i_step =2. If the user enters the value , then z1 will have the user value.

  • How to create an user input variable for customer exit variable? - BW3.5

    Hi Guru,
I have a requirement for the selection period of my reports. There are 3 possible reporting periods which should be user selectable:
    1. Month: Current reporting month
    2. Fiscal Year to Date
    3. Project Year to Date
Here I need 2 variable to do these, 1 customer exit and 1 user input variable. I have created a variable customer exit to calculate all these requirement. But can any1 tell on how to create the user input variable for my customer exit? I need a user input variable with drop down list like below.
    01-Current month
    02- Fiscal Year to Date
    03-Project Year to Date
I have create a new master data for this variable, but it's not working. What I need now is a standalone master data which do not need to link to any exiting records. Can any1 tell me how to create this?

Just go to the definition of the variable for which you have created a customer exit. There you will find a check box for "Ready for Input". Just tick that checkbox and the variable will be available as a selection variable in the reports selection screen.

  • Query Customer Exit - Multi Single Values

    Hi SDN,
Is it possible to return multi-single values in a customer exit for a query variable or only a range?
I have 2 characteristics (NUMC), an item ZITEM and a group ZGROUP.  An item can belong to many groups.
    ZITEM           ZGROUP
    1                     1
    1                     2
    2                     3
    4                     1
I would like to create a variable in Query Designer for ZITEM that returns a list of single values for ZITEM (not a range).  For example, Group 1 should return items 1, 4.
The relationship between ZITEM and ZGROUP is not defined in master data (compounding).  Currently, I have a DSO which has ZITEM and ZGROUP defined as a key.  I would like my query variable-customer exit to read the DSO and return a list of single values of ZITEM.
I'm assuming making ZGROUP a compounding infoobject of ZITEM would solve the issue in query designer because I could restrict on ZGROUP.  I have not used this approach because it would require modifying standard extractors.
Another option I explored was to create an Infoset between my InfoCube and the DSO which has ZITEM & ZGROUP.  Unfortunately my InfoCube has NonCulm. Key Figures and therefore cannot be used in an infoset.
Does anyone know how to create a multi-single value customer exit or have any ideas on how to solve this problem?
    Thanks!

I was able to create a customer exit which performed multi-single values.
    Psuedocode:
    1) Create Internal Table and populate it with DSO data for Group and Item
    2) In Customer Exit, loop through internal table for the group you want
    3) In loop, append l_s_range to e_t_range (this will add multi-single values)
    WHEN 'ZCX_FLWGRP60'.
        IF I_STEP = 2.
          l_s_range-sign = 'I'.
          l_s_range-opt = 'EQ'.
"get multi single values for flow types
          LOOP AT l_t_flwgrp INTO l_s_flwgrp
            WHERE /BIC/ZFLW_TP_G = '60'.
            l_s_range-low = l_s_flwgrp-FS_FLW_TP.
            append l_s_range TO e_t_range.
          ENDLOOP.
        ENDIF.

  • Multiple Single Values in Customer Exit

    Hi,
Can we select multiple single values in the customer exit. I know that we can get single value or range of values with LOW, HIGH, OPTION, SIGN etc. But is it possible to do a multiple single values.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Ganesh,
Thanks for the reply, it did give me good ide
But I do not know how many multiple values I would have. I will be picking those values based on an internal table. So do I need to do another looping.

  • How to use Multiple Single Option for selection in the Customer Exit

    Hi,
How can we handle the multiple single values in the customer exit variable.
I have a requirement which is as follows -
Table A fiields -> Field Coach, Partner 2, Relation between PArtner 1 & Partner 2, Valid from, valid to date.
Table B ->  Service Month, Start Date, End Date.
    Table C -> Billing Date, Execution Partner,cal month /year.
For the Field coach in TABLE A, multiple Partner 2 are present.
Report has to be built on Table C.
User inputs the Service month and Field Coach . User can enter multiple field coach values.
For the All the Field Coach values entered, corresponding Partner2's have to be found from Table A and to be passed to the Execution Partner in Table C.
Now if we want to use customer exit variable on the field Execution Partner, how can we handle the Multiple Single selections in the customer exit.
    Thanks,
    Shubham

    Hi,
While creating the variable you must have to specify multiple value.
    In customer exit
write code multiple times and append the values.
    For example:
    when 'variable'.
    l_s_range - sign = 'I'.
    l_s_range - OPT = 'EQ.
    l_s_range - LOW = EXECUTION PARTNER 1.
    APPEND L_S_RANGE TO E_T_RANGE.
    l_s_range - sign = 'I'.
    l_s_range - OPT = 'EQ.
    l_s_range - LOW = EXECUTION PARTNER 2.
    APPEND L_S_RANGE TO E_T_RANGE.
    l_s_range - sign = 'I'.
    l_s_range - OPT = 'EQ.
    l_s_range - LOW = EXECUTION PARTNER 3.
    APPEND L_S_RANGE TO E_T_RANGE.
