Changed plan. Now billed month in advance?

I understand the concept of the month in advance, but when I went to change plans, I asked if the ORIGINAL month-in-advance would be credited against the new MIA, and the rep gave me a whole lot of dates and charges that equalled "no". So I left without changing plans because it sounded like I would have then paid TWO MIA payments. If I am wrong, please correct me.

The month in advance charge is something that you authorize. it is the standard billing that most cellphone(cable, internet, home phone) providers charge services. while you are paying in advance, your bill is not actually due until that month in advance is almost over. example. if your bill cycle is the 10th of each month, your bill would run from the 11th through the 10th of the following month. another example would be, my bill cycle. my cycle is the 10th. so my next bill will have charges from May 11th through June 10th, but my bill isn't due until June 5th.
as for changes to your calling plan. If I am already billed for a 700 minute plan and pay $50 for that plan from may 11th to june 10th (no text, and just the account access charge for those who are wondering), and on the 20th I find that i need 1400 minutes, I would call customer service(or use MYVZ) and back date a 1400 plan which is $70. On my next invoice(june 11th to july 10th), I would see a $50 credit on my bill(page 2) and a $70 charge. the credit is the money I was billed for my old plan, the charge is the cost of the new plan that i ACTUALLY needed. so effectively I am only paying the difference of $20. My monthly billing will also include the regular monthly charge of $70 from June 11th to July 10th

    Worry not, Jwd! They bill EVERYTHING like that! Look closely at your price plan. If you have something like a 450 minute or 900 or 1400 minute plan they bill you for 07/09 to 08/08 as well. If you change your phone and go back to a feature phone (say, for example on 07/22), you'll get a refund for the data plan that you don't use from 07/23 to 08/08 on the next bill.

  • I'm no longer eligible to upgrade to the Edge plan now for 6 months???

    I made a partial payment of $200 on a past due account on a Friday night, I have 6 smartphones on 12 GB plan.  Financial Services is closed over weekend, I'm a pro at that by now, and I decided to wait until Monday.  On Monday, my phones were already shut off. I called immediately and paid the remainder of the past due and explained that it was my fault for not contacting them sooner. They pretty much dismissed my reason, charged me the additional $90 reconnection fee, and restored services.  
    Three days later, I'm in Verizon and wanting to upgrade 2 of the lines to the new Edge plan and buy 2 iPhone 5c's.  All's good and then, NO! YOU CAN"T DO THAT!!!??? What? Why?
    Your lines were temporarily interrupted and you are no longer eligible for upgrade to the EDGE plan for 6 months. I asked them to reconsider this as I have no history of service interruptions and good payment history.  They say there's nothing they can do for me, sorry. 
    I talk to AT&T about the new plans they offer and they're more than happy to set me up with 2 lines of service, bill credits, etc. so I call Verizon to see if there is any way to avoid me dropping accounts as they come due. They act surprised that I would consider switching carriers, but I explained I'm paying too much per month and it's not like it's appreciated anyway.  I'm willing to stay with Verizon, but just wanted to switch plans to save a little bit of money. 
    I'm not asking for much, maybe a free pass on failing to set up a payment arrangement, but nothing else.  They're unwilling to work with me and now I'm going to have to keep switching carriers as the contracts expire.  And all because they can't pretend to work with me. 
    Is it just me? Am I being unfair of the situation?

    Well, I've resolved the problem, kinda.
    I uninstalled Flash CS5 and AE CS5 last night, then reinstalled them. I then opened one of the AE files with the "junk" SWF in it, and nothing had changed.
    I then tried to import one of the questionalbe SWFs into AE on another machine and the same problem. But I could import a SWF made on that machine into AE (running on that system).
    Then I brought that SWF back to my system, and was able to successfully imported it into AE. I then imported one of the questionable SWFs made before the software reinstall, and got the 72px black square. So I opened the FLA made a new SWF and happened to move it to the desktop. I was able to successfully import that SWF.
    This is where it gets weird. I then made a new SWF and left it in the local folder with the FLA and tried to import it. black box again. I then drag-copied that SWF back to the desktop and I was able to import that.
    So at the moment, it seems to have something to do with the location of the SWF in relation to the AE file? That's the best that I can figure at the moment. Though I'm not sure why this would, or should, be a factor. I wish I had tried this before doing all the software uninstall/reinstalls… but I never would have thought that it could have been an issue.

    I just changed our family plan in order to upgrade our phones, 3 of 4 were eligible for an upgrade.  I added the unlimited data plan so I could get a smart phone.  Anyway, now when I go back to do the actual phone upgrades, they are no longer eligible, presumably because of the new family plan that I just switched to.  I'm thinking a call to Customer Service is in my near future.

    From what I've read on these boards, it is not possible to upgrade while there is a plan change pending.  When did you choose to start the new plan?  If you chose to forward-date it to the start of your next billing cycle, you may have to either cancel the change or wait until it goes through to be able to upgrade.
    If you chose to start it immediately, or back-date it, you may just have to wait a few days for the computer to process the change.
    For future reference, you don't have to change your plan before you upgrade, even if your current plan is not compatible.  The online system (or rep you are working with) will prompt you to change your plan to an appropriate one after you select the phone you want, but before you complete the upgrade.  That will give you a chance to see the impact of the plan change on your bill.

    I don't know if they'll be able to change it or not, but it's worth calling Customer Service ASAP (since you indicate your billing cycle starts tomorrow, so that would be midnight tonight) and asking.

Tikibar1, thank you for pointing in the right direction; it will automatically continue to bill you as usual, but it will be on a month to month basis. It will keep you on a post paid account; however, if you wanted to transfer to a Prepaid account the process may be different.     You made a purchase and exhausted the credit on your card before it processed. All purchases are final. Contact iTunes Store support. You need to settle up before you can purchase or download anything else.

                      Sorry still i am not satisfied with your answer.As you hav told to go through the TC OVBI, there i found it is no where or little related to Horizon period of Credit management of SD module. In OVBI it is meant for "Maintain Billing plan type for Period Billing". Yes there is a combo box called "HORIZON", but i believe the purpose of this Horizon is diffrentthan the "Horizon period in SD Credit management. Pls correct me and explain me how it is related if i am wrong. Hope you'll do so.Thanks for yr valuable reply.Kartik...

  • Can't view current billing month broadband data us...

    I guess I must be missing something but I can't seem to access information about my current data usage levels for broadband in the MyBT site anymore?  I used to be able to check how much data I've used by going to the 'Usage & Analysis' section - I'd be shown a green bar representing how many Gb of data I've used so far in the given billing period.  However, on navigating to that part of the site I'm now shown a screen stating 'There was no chargeable usage in that period' for my previous billing month, but I am not able to select the dates for this billing month.
    When it was working I found this feature very useful as I've been burned in the past by going over my limit and have recently changed my tariff to provide me with an increased allowance; I don't want to go over this level (40Gb/month) and so being able to check how much I've used is really helpful.  When I went over my limit BT said that there are easy ways to check my usage - it seems this is no longer the case?
    Can anyone provide instructions on how to access this information?

    Log into MyBT and click on the "My services" horizontal tab (below the "Welcome to My BT" banner). Click on the "Broadband" vertical tab on the far left. In the "Manage your broadband services" section click on "View your broadband usage". It displays only the current month.

  • Modified Date changes to now by selecting (not opening) vmwarevm file

    VMware Fusion is currently not running, and it's disabled (an older version not compatible with Yosemite has not yet been upgraded) so I don't think Fusion is doing this....
    I have VM files (.vmwarevm) that were not opened for months. I want to see which is which by viewing the date stamp in Finder. Clicking once shows the old date, then almost instantly it is changed to Now.  Like this:
    Created 2009-04-13, 1:23 PM
    Modified Today, <now>
    Last Opened Today, <now>
    ... but once changed those dates do not change again.
    I found an un-clicked one and it did the same thing, with <now> as the time stamp on that one. Now I have files with slightly different "today" date stamps which is incorrect and not helpful to determine the age of these files.
    It appears something (Preview?) is opening the file to access the content and generate a "recent screenshot" for the current state of the VM.
    I found no other files [edit: no other file types] that behave this way.
    I duplicated and renamed an odt file to .vmwarevm and it does not result in a Modified or Last Opened date change.
    (one of the VMs also doesn't change so I suspect a bad file format).

    Acrobat 9 makes PDF versions 4.0 and higher. You need a PDF version 5.0 to handle transparencies well. PDF version 4.0 doesn't handle transparency effects well at all.
    Pagemaker needs Acrobat 5 to be able to directly export PDF's with custom job settings. It only generates a PDF version 4.0, but works for our needs in Pagemaker.
    I choose to keep both Distiller versions to make our work easier. When you have 20 ads open in Pagemaker, and you send the first one as a postscript through the print window, it sets up the "File, Export" in Pagemaker to use the correct PDF job setting, and then you can just do "File, Export to PDF" for the next 19 ads and it makes perfect PDF's. Works slick instead of having to make postscripts of all 20 ads first and then run them through Distiller. If you only have Distiller 9 installed, it doesn't let you select any custom job settings from your Distiller. Crazy, I know, but that's what I've figured out we have to do to get it to work. Have to have Distiller 5.0 to control PDF settings in Pagemaker and still be able to export from the file menu directly to PDF.
    Distiller 9 is used for all other more advanced design pieces created in InDesign or Photoshop that are saved as a postscript first and PDF's are made the long way in those cases (running postscript through Distiller 9 at the end).

  • Billing Plan - Next Bill Date

    I have a requirmenet to generate a charge on a bill for one month only.
    I've configured my item category to use a custom billing plan.  I have most of the information correctly configured except for the Next Bill Date.
    The Next Bill Date is showing 50 (monthly).  Due to this, the sales order is generating a charge for subsequent months.
    I tried to change the Next Bill Date but I see only 1 option i.e. 50.
    How can I change this to that there is no Next Bill Date defined. I'm guessing that the system will stop the generation of charges if it sees that the Next Bill Date is not defined.
    I can't leave it blank because it is a required field.  I'd appreciate your help!

    One key requirement that I should mention is this:
    In addition to the one-time charge, I also need to display a recurring charge on the same sales order.  If I make the suggested changes, won't the system prevent the recurring charge to appear on subsequent bills?
    This is how my bills need to look:
    1st month:   one-time charge + recurring charge
    2nd month: recurring charge only
    3rd month: recurring charge only
    Please advise.

    I got behind in my payments with this rediculous new policy and my service was disconnected.  If I'm paying a month in advance wouldn't it be another month before the service was interrupted?  I guess it's not really paying for the period that was listed on my bill.  Very deceptive and not a good way to handle a deposit. 
    I've been with Verizon for close to 20 years, you would think that after being a loyal customer for that long you wouldn't start charging a deposit.  Especially considering, I renewed my contract, bought a new phone and added my wife.
    I'm seriously considering dropping Verizon

No, your bill has a due date. If you fail to pay your bill by the due date, you risk having your service interrupted. It is NOT deceptive and it isn't a "deposit", but a payment. A "deposit" means you may get that back at some point which is not going to happen with your payment.

As we have already determined, your "payment" is not a "deposit". If you mean you got charged a "deposit" when you added your wife, that is strictly based upon your credit score and you will get that back after 12 months of on-time, in-full payments.
    I'm seriously considering dropping Verizon. Hopefully, you will have better luck with your new provider if you choose to change. Unfortunately, you will find that they all have similar payment requirements.

    Its not possible to change the Planning plant , You can delete that task list or you can put deletion flag on it, and go for new creation
