Changing database (login screen) in 10.1.3 Jclient ADF

I have heard that in Jdev 10.1.3 there will be working login screen, but it is made exactly like in 10.1.2.
During creating fe master-detail form, You can set in wizard to create login screen, but this is only simple user/pass panel. If You want to change database during runtime it is not that simple. Everything is taken from applicationModule. There is an example (made by Frank) how to build login screen (using database list from file). Is there an example how to build complete login screen with database, sid, log, pass... ?
thx,
Jacek

Hi Frank,
I have a related question could you take a look at following thread:
Setting v$session.program property in application module config
I would like to have a identifier of the application in the v$session.view/table
For the first JClient login it works but when a new application module instance is opened the v$session.program is empty?
Is there global solution for all application modules no matter the application (Web/JClient/...), another identifier field is ok.
Thanks
Fred

    Do you use correct correct connection from Crystal Report design such as OLE DB instead of using ODBC connection?

  • Changes to login screen not recognized

    Hi,
    I wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction. Several months ago a colleague made changes to the standard login screen for Oracle BI Answers. The change was a warning notice about a power outage that would shut down our servers in the form of a link on the login screen that brought up a small notice.
    The changes were made to the following tags and files similar to below:
    logonmessages.xml
    <WebMessage name="kmsgAuthenticateRequestedContentRequiresLogon"><HTML>Please enter your ID and password below, and then press Log In button to access reports. There will be a server outage this weekend. More details to follow.<div class="wrn">Network Outages<div class="pppoverlay">There will be a complete power outage affecting the network, where our servers are located, between evening Daylight Time on Friday 13-November-2009 and evening Daylight Time on Sunday 15-November-2009.<br><br>Our servers will be shut down during this period.<br><br>Please accept our apologies for inconvenience.<br><br><div style="float:right;"><em>Technology Team</em></div></div></div></HTML></WebMessage>
    logoncontrolmessages.xml
    <WebMessage name="kmsgLogonHead"><HTML><title><sawm:messageRef name="kmsgAuthenticatenQuireLogOn"/></title><link href="fmap:logon.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet"/><script language="javascript" src="fmap:browserDOM.js"/><script language="javascript" src="fmap:common.js"/><style> .wrn {display:block;float:right;color:#FF0000;} .pppoverlay {display:none;} .wrn:hover .pppoverlay {display:block;border:1px solid;border-color:#3a5a87;background-color:#cfe0f1;padding:10px;width:300px;height:160px;overflow:hidden;position:absolute;top:50%;left:50%;z-index:1;margin-left:-150px;margin-top:-80px;color:#3a5a87;}</style></HTML></WebMessage>
    It was a handy way of advising people.
    I have tried to replicate this for another planned outage this weekend but despite following instructions could not get the notice link to display.
    I have followed guides from:
    http://obiee101.blogspot.com/2008/09/obiee-making-custom-log-on-and-log-off.html
    http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2007/12/11/oracle-bi-ee-101332-customizing-login-screen/
    and have tried restarting Oracle Application Server as advised but still can not get the change to display.
    Also tried different directories quoted from manual in page 194 and 195 of Oracle Business Intelligence Presentation Services Administration Guide Version 10.1.3.2
    Running on Solaris SunOS 5.10
    using Oracle Business Intelligence 10.1.3.3.2
    I am wondering if I am using the wrong directories completely but have run out of options to try.
    Are the served web pages (ie the login screen page) logged anywhere that would indicate which files and directories are being accessed?
    I have made backups of the original files with different file names but left those backups in the same directories. Could that be conflicting with the new versions?
    Regards
    Mark

    Hi,
    For future reference, when making changes to the xml files such as app/~/OracleBI/web/msgdb/customMessages/logonmessages.xml
    DO NOT leave copies of the original files in the same folder - as a backup.
    Once I had removed all backup copies and restarted bi, the change worked fine and I was able to view the altered notice.
    Looking back at the manual, had I followed the instructions exactly, I would have avoided this but it was not explicit that files of different names would also be read.
    Regards
    Mark

  • How do you change the login screen background?

    I have been looking everywhere in the setting on how to change the background on the login screen and i can't find it, does anyone know how to do it without having to download an app?

    Make sure you check your operating system first, because there are a few ways to do this.
    This is for Mac OS X 10.7.5
    First find out what your screen size is by going into System Preferences and clicking on display. Mine is at 1920x12000, but you might want to go with a picture thats a little bit bigger.
    Find your picture, I edited mine in photoshop, but I think you can edited in Preview or some other photo converter. Make sure the picture is the same size as the display, convert it to a PNG by exporting it or saving it to a PNG format on to your desktop.
    Go to your Macintosh Hardrive
    Go to: System / Library / PrivateFrameworks / LoginUIKit.framework /  Versions/A/Frameworks / Log inUICore.framework / Versions / A /  Resources / appleLinen.png / [email protected]
    Make sure your photo file has the same name as appleLinen.png. Replace appleLinen.png with the new picture by droping it in the resources folder.
    Make a copy of that same picture and paste it on to your desktop. Rename it to [email protected]. Then replace [email protected] with that picture file.
    This should allow you to place a new background to your login screen, but I myself am still working out the kinks. You will notice your sleep, restart, and shutdown buttons will disappear.
    Now if you have a much older operating system on your computer there is an easier way to do this.
    This is for Mac OS X 10.7.1,2,3,4
    First find out what your screen size is by going into System  Preferences and clicking on display. Mine is at 1920x12000, but you  might want to go with a picture thats a little bit bigger.
    Find  your picture, I edited mine in photoshop, but I think you can edited in  Preview or some other photo converter. Make sure the picture is the  same size as the display, convert it to a PNG by exporting it or saving it to a PNG format on to your desktop.
    Go to your Macintosh Harddrive
    Go to: system / library / frameworks / AppKit.framework / versions / c / resources / NSTexturedFullScreenBackgroundColor.png
    Make sure your photo file has the same name as NSTexturedFullScreenBackgroundColor.png. Replace NSTexturedFullScreenBackgroungColor.png with the new picture by droping it in the resources folder.
    That's it for that!!!
    Good Luck, I hope I can find the answere about why the sleep, restart and shutdown buttons disappear on the screen.
    Oh... and don't forget to save the exsisting files that are already there in another folder and lable it.

  • Changes in login screen

    Hi All.
    I have an standalone(no portal) webdynpro app that works with the standard authentication screen of netweaver.
    I wanna know if there is possible to change that screen to:
    - Limit the length of the login and password fields.

    If those things are possible i wanna know how to do them.
    Thx a lot.
    Best regards.
    Gregory.

    Thx a lot Anilkumar and Nagarajan.
    Anilkumar if i can change the branding image, cant i change the length of the fields??? And the change password functionality is impossible to???
    Nagarajan i think u dont understood me. The app exceutes the standard login, i havent defined ui elements for the login and password.

  • Change Fiori login screen

    Hi,
    I would like to customize the Fiori login screen and replace the logo.
    I tried theme designer, but didn't succeed.
    I have also tried using transaction SE80 > BSP > /UI2/LAUNCHPAGE but cant find anything useful.
    thanks in advance,

    Please look at the method INIT_DEFAULT_PROPERTIES of /UI2/CL_SRA_LOGIN class. set_property( iv_name = 'img_logo' iv_value = '/sap/public/bc/ui2/logon/img/sap_logo.png' ) Easy way is just replacing the images in the MIME repository.

  • Database login screen

    I'm creating an application that will be accessing a database. I wanted to handle the user login by selecting "Login" from a JMenu and then a seperate login frame would pop up while disabling the rest of the application interface. I thought this would be simple, but when the new login frame is created, the panel is empty. So, for some reason the JPanel and JTextArea objects are not appearing when the login frame pops up.
    Can anyone help out with what I wanted to accomplish? Or does anyone have any better ideas on a good way to handle user logins?

    I do something similar in one of my programs and the problem is pretty easy to solve. I'm guessing that you have a modal dialog that pops up to disable the underlying window? And you were thinking you could just do this:
    public class PopDialog implements ActionListener
        public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent evt)
           myloginscreen.show(true);
           //validate username and password
    }While in theory that looks great, there's just one problem... You've got the paint thread locked! Java uses the same thread to paint the screen as it does to handle events. As a result, you're holding the event thread thus preventing painting from occurring. The best solution is to use a thread like this:
    public class PopDialog implements ActionListener, Runnable
        public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent evt)
            new Thread(this).start();
        public void run()
           myloginscreen.show(true);
           //validate username and password
    }Hope this helps! :-)

  • How to change Mac Login screen background?

    I realize how to rename the four files "apple.png, apple_s1.png, [email protected], and [email protected]", in the Resources directory. But my picture keeps showing this grey bar at the bottom of the screen. I keep playing around with the resolution and it still shows. My macbook screen resolution is 1280x800. When I adjust the picture in "Preview", and change the height, it ends up cutting off the top of the picture but making the grey bar at the bottom smaller. Helps but it doesn't. Can you?

  • How can I change the login screen to post results to a local server?

    I am using Captivate 5 and posting quiz results to a local server.
    When students complete modules and then login to post quiz results, they see a login dialog box that instructs them to:
    Enter Your Name:
    Your Email ID:
    Unfortunately, these are not the items I want reported to me. I have them enter an alternative ID in each field. Although I warn them to enter what I need rather than what the dialog box requests, inevitably some fail to do so.
    Is there a way to alter what is displayed in this dialog box? I'm aware that some rdl files have default messages, but I do not know what file might control these messages.

    As I thought, nobody is able to help me ><.
    I found some new things like the CPGURU widget which seems to do exactly what I want for 50$ :
    Quiz Data Extension Widget
    Michael, the developper, figured out how to send the whole data avoiding the post results popup. I'd like to buy this but my superior doesn't agree.
    I also tried to find by myself by decompiling(not sure of the word) the captivate published SWF:
    Quiz data is send by a class named InternalServer extending a TrackingAdapter class.
    Post results popup seems to be an instance of the "InputDialog" class.
    If I can find the place where this AS3 script is generated I think I can modify it to match my needs.
    I'll be happy to share the solution for free if I success.
    Any clue ?

    Thanks in advance

    You have customised the skins/themes folder
    $OBI_HOME/web/app/res/*
    Depending on what webserver you are using you will also need to customise the skins/themes for the web application that is already deployed.
    These are where you can find them:
    OC4J: $OBI_HOME/oc4j_bi/j2ee/home/applications/analytics/analytics/res/*
    WebLogic: $OBI_HOME/web/analytics/res/*
    You will need to restart the presentation services to see the changes.
    If you are manually deploying the application to the web server you will need to make your changes to the original app folder '$OBI_HOME/web/app/res/*' and then follow the below guide to create the web archive to deploy to the presentation server i.e. oc4j or WebLogic.

  • Custom login screen.. any hints ?

    Hi all,
    We'd like to have a login screen sligthly different from the standard one (some links should be removed, some others created).
    Should we create our own starting from scratch ? (new web dynpro view...). In this case, could someone gives some hints:
    - is there some bapi that can be executed to authenticate user
    - is there some bapi that can be executed to change user password / langage...
    Would it be better to customize standard login screen ? Our application is standalone (not in portal).
    In this case, can someone tell me how to customize it ? I've read some documentation on changing this login screen in portal (by customizing .par file)... Should we do the same ?
    Thanks in advance

    Hello TWM,
    the support and register links can be controlled with the UM settings ume.logon.logon_help and ume.logon.selfreg. For more complex customization you might want to create your own login screen component as a copy of the standard component: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/ep/customizing the logon user interface of sap enterprise portal 6.0

  • Blue Background Login Screen Problem

    Hello everyone,
    I tried to change my login screen's background using sudo commands and now it's this light blue and I can't seem to change it no matter what method I try.
    This is the method that messed everything up:
    http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20070610164328933
    I looked in my computers login plist as well as my CoreServices folder to make sure that the login image is the image I want and they both have the correct folder down. Has anyone had this problem and fixed or helped someone fix this?
    This is a purely aesthetic problem but it's really, really getting to me. It's almost to the point where I'm trying to revert to an older time on my computer (Time Machine?).
    If someone could please help, it would be greatly appreciated.

    I found the solution to this problem on another forum. If anyone finds this, this is what you do:
    Delete the com.apple.loginwindow.plist that you can find in the /Library/Preferences folder. After this I recommend using an Application to set your backround (so that you aren't fiddling with things yourself). You can either use Desktop 2 Login or Login Back -- either work. Anyways, I'd back up your plist file before you delete just incase. This worked for me and hopefully it works for you.
