Suggest me hwo to proceed?

The following code is working in my system.
data: l_path(128) type c value '/data/sapdata/ztest.txt'.
data: l_sep(10) type c value 'ABAP"4'.
   OPEN DATASET l_path FOR OUTPUT IN TEXT MODE.
    IF sy-subrc = 0.
        TRANSFER l_sep TO l_path.
      CLOSE DATASET l_path.

    regards,

    you could try using a Java Mapping to change the encoding manually. For that, set the encoding of the OutputFormat of the XML you'll serialize. Try the following code piece for the mapping (inside a try/catch declaration):
    DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    DocumentBuilder documentBuilder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
    Document input = documentBuilder.parse(in);
    OutputFormat format = new OutputFormat(XML, "ISO-8859-1", false);
    XMLSerializer serializer = new XMLSerializer(out, format);

  • Read Document in FileUtilities  cannot search a file with french character in the file name

    Hi,
    I am trying to search a file with french character in the file name like 'captures écran.doc' in my unix server directory, and Write the file somewhere, say in a list of documents or, write on file system to another directory.
    I am using to Read Document in FileUtilities of Foundation, but it cannot read the file due to french character in its name. Although it can find any other file name without these french characters.
    Tried renaming but that also cannot find the file with french character name.
    Please provide any idea to solve it using LC operation.
    Regards,
    Rohan Raj.

    Hi Thomas,
    Thanks for the post, but I have already found a solution to it a month ago. Sorry for not posting the solution.
    You just have to set the '-Djava.property.file.encoding=ISO8859-1' into JVM argument of your server startup, and bounce the server back to pick the new JVM arg set. And now the service Read Document in FileUtilities of Foundation will read all french characters.
    ISO8859-1refers to "Latin alphabet no. 1," consisting of 191 characters from the Latin script. This character-encoding scheme is used throughout The Americas,Western Europe, Oceania, and much of Africa. It is also commonly used in most standard romanizations of East-Asian languages.

  • How to remove a character in a file??

    I'm not getting how to remove a character from a file.Could anyone post a method to do this?Any help would be appreciable.

    Ohhh... and one more thing... unless you're really unlucky, a few "extranious trailing nulls" won't make a jot of difference to the size of the file on disk, each each file "fills" whole blocks anyway, which is 1K (I think) on both fister and *nix... unless of course we're talking "lots" of trailing-nulls, or lots-and-lots of files.

  • Null character in text file

    I am trying to read text file in stored procedure. The file in text editor looks like some of the lines have funny character looked like sqare. That character is a null character. When I run my procedure I gives me read error. So I tried to oepn that text file in sql editor window and I found that I displayed part of the file. It didnot display the file right where that character is. This sounds like it does not like that symbolic null character and didnot load rest of the text file.
    Any idea ???

    Though u state that the file u are trying to read is a text file , from the description it looks as if its probably a binary.Its also possible that the file u are reading has been created by an editor on machine with a diffrent character set or say by editors like word, notepad which do not always save the file in pure in text format.
    Whats happening in the sql editor window is that the editor encounters a binary character in the file which represents the EOF (End Of File) on u're system and therefore the editor stops reading the file beyond that point and hence u see "half the file".
    Try checking up the source of the file if the file was created and saved in pure text format , if the characterset was converted appropriately on ftp etc.

  • Scan\Look for a particular character in a file

    I would like to look for a particular character(@) in a file. The character might be in a word. When if find the character I want to read the actual whole word that contains that character.
    What's the best way of going abt this?
    Thx,
    Kapapra.

    Read the file line by line using BufferedReader.
    Tokenize each line on space.
    Loop through the token strings.
    For each token that contains the character that you are looking for (e.g. @) found using indexOf operator of the String class, print or save (or whatever you want to do with that token) that token.
    Continue reading the file line by line till the end of the file.
    Does this make sense? Look the java.io package API for the details on how to read the file and stuff.
    If anyone has more effecient method to do this, please share.

    Use StringTokenizer, here is example
    StringTokenizer tokenizer = new java.util.StringTokenizer(yourString, " ");
    while(tokenizer.hasMoreTokens())
       String word = (String) tokenizer.nextToken();
       if ( word.indexOf("@") >=0 )

    I have a program that reads a txt file and display a page on html page, everything works well, but when a read a '' character a got a , I know that = 0x241.

    Hi and thanks for you answer.
    I have a line like this :
    String Line = "CU-578355566-sueo-dasdjhghhh";
    char[] charInLine = Line.toCharArray();
    // Here I start the validation :
    int numOfChar = Line.length;
    for ( int i =0; i < numOfChar; i++) {
    if (charInLine[i] =='') {
    System.out.println ( "Invalid Character");
    I tried with :
    if (charInLine[i] =='')
    if (charInLine[i] == '\u00f1')
    if (charInLine[i] ==( (char) 241)
    But Nothing works, but if I use :
    if (charInLine[i] == ( ( char) 177) it works, but this code is for .
    Thanks!
    Postscript : It works in my machine, but not over internet.

  • How to replace a character in a file using awk

    Hello,
    Does anyone has a sample script to replace a character in a file using awk?
    Regards,
    Edited by: slsam01 on Jul 15, 2012 12:56 PM

    Hi
    awk it's not best for this job.
    For replace charecter - generaly use tr or sed
    Example on awk:
    awk -F<old_char> ' { for (i=1; i<NF ;i++ ) printf ( "%s<new_char>", $i ); print $NF }' <file>
    #Replace "e" on "a" in /etc/hosts
    awk -Fe ' { for (i=1; i<NF ;i++ ) printf ( "%sa", $i ); print $NF }' /etc/hosts
    Regards.
    PS. Same on *tr"
    cat file | tr "e" "a"

  • Want to know how to check for new line character in text file

    Hi All,
    I`m trying to read data from text file. However I`m not sure whether the data is in 1st line or nth line. Now I`m trying to read the text from the readline. But if text is "" and not NULL then my code fails. So I want to know how to check for new line character and go to next line to find the data. Please help.
    Thanks
    static int readandwriteFile(Logger logger,String filepath){
              BufferedWriter out = null;
              BufferedReader in = null;
              File fr = null;
              int get_count = 0;
              try     {
              if(new File(filepath).exists())
              fr= new File(filepath);
                        System.out.println("FileName: "+fr);
                   if(fr != null){
    in = new BufferedReader(new FileReader(fr));
                             String text = in.readLine();
                             if(text != null){
                             get_count = Integer.parseInt(text);
                             in.close();
                             else{
                                  get_count = 0;
         else{
    out = new BufferedWriter(new FileWriter(filepath));
         out.write("0");
                out.close();
                   }          //Reading of the row count file ended.
              catch(Exception e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
              finally {
                   try{               if (in != null) {
                             in.close();
              if (out != null) {
                             out.close();
              catch(Exception e) {
                        e.printStackTrace();
              return get_count;
         }

    You are calling the readline() only once which means you are reading only the first line from the file...
    Use a loop (Do-While preferably)
    do{
    //your code
    }while(text == "")

  • How to put Chinese character in jar file by java.util.jar.Manifest?

    Now I want to develop a simple package tool which can modify some property in manifest.mf of jar files,but the Manifest class's putValue method only can correctly save English character.why?
    And how can I put Chinese character?
    the code is:
    Attributes ab = mf.getMainAttributes();
    ab.putValue("agent-Name", agent);

    Attribute values can contain any character and it will be UTF-8 encoded when written to the manifest, according to Javadoc.
    What makes you think that this mechanism fails? What do you see instead of the Chinese character? And what tool/editor/program you use to see it? I did not try myself, but according to the Javadoc there should be no problem.

  • How to insert special character in sgm file and interprete it without isoents while opening in FM9.0

    I have an sgm file which contains special characters in different languages.
    <!DOCTYPE MANUAL PUBLIC "-//SWE-XXX//DTD XXX MANUAL-DTD 2.0//EN">
    <MANUAL LANG="CS">
    <TITEL>
    Polish characters: &oacute;&ecirc;&iquest;&ntilde;&aelig;&Ntilde;&AElig;&Ecirc;&yen;&Oacute;&pound;
    Czech characters: &eacute;&igrave;&oacute;&iuml;&aacute;&oslash;&egrave;&iacute;&ugrave;&ograve;&uacute;&Og rave;&Igrave;&Eacute;&Oacute;&Uacute;&Ugrave;&Egrave;&Oslash;&Iacute;&Aacute;&Iuml; aacute: &aacute;</TITEL>
    </MANUAL>
    Is there any way to insert special character directly in sgm file, so that it won't have to be interpreted by isoents mapping rules?
    isoent.rwr interpretes oacute as:
    entity "oacute" is fm char 0x00F3;
    But I would like to use 0x00F3 directly in fm file, so that if any additional character is needed - I won't have to update isoent files
    I've tested already:
    &#x00F3;
    &x00F3;
    &0x00F3;
    but with no luck
    Is there anyone who could help me with it?
    I will really appreciate your help
    /Joanna

    Hi Michael. Thank you for your reply.
    There is no declaration within sgm file itself - but while opening the file I use sgml application definition with the following settings:
    Default API client:  FmTranslator
    SGML character encoding:  ISO Latin1
    XML character encoding:  UTF-8
    Namespace: Enable
    CSS2 Preferences:
    Generate CSS2: Disable
    Add Fm CSS Attribute To XML: Disable
    Retain Stylesheet Information: Disable
    Entity locations
    Entity search paths
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\FrameMaker9\Structure\sgml\isoents
    So as you can see, character encoding is set to ISO Latin1 (there is no way to use UTF-8 encoding in sgml files)
    Typing ź or ć in sgm document and opening it with framemaker sgml application - I receive: ¿æ and message: "Non-SGML character found; should have been character reference"
    Everything works fine when I type f.ex.: &x016B; and insert appropriate reference lines into isolat1.rw and isolat1.ent files
    But what I would like to avoid is editing those isoent files each time new character is be needed.

  • Problem with special character in Unix file

    Hi All,
    Need a help here. We have unicoded our system recently.
    It's regarding a special character (umlaut) that comes through a 3rd party system to an Unix file. This gets displayed in AL11 file as # instead of ö.
    As our program picks the file from Unix, it also has the # but we want ö.
    We could have done some fixes in our code to fix if AL11 file at least had ö and we got # in our program.
    But it's the other way round. So, how can we get rid of this issue? Please suggest.
    Regards,
    Sanj.

    How Al11 is reading file ? Look for
    OPEN DATASET "yourfilename" IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT FOR INPUT
                                  IGNORING CONVERSION ERRORS.
    If the above code is there .. you might need to play with different 'OPEN DATASET " options .
    Also look for Note 1174468 - Non-7bit-ASCII characters used in ABAP Workbench
                       Note 1227961 - Names of text fields with non-7-bit ASCII characters
    Good Luck !

  • Unprintable special character in RDP file

    We're having strange issue. We use RDP files generated in RDP client, we then sign those using rdpsign.exe.
    Recently after upgrading our infrastructure from W8/2012 to W8.1/2012R2 we noticed that every RDP file generated in RDC 8.1 client contains a special character on first position that is not visible in normal text editor and is only visible in hex editor.
    This character wasn't there in W8/2012. When I create the RDP file manually (typing (copy/pasting) all the options in a text file), it doesn't contain any special character, but when I later sign that file file rdpsign, it adds that character again.
    How do we get rid of it? It's preventing our provisioning system from substituting username.

    Hello MarkosP,
    Thanks for contacting Microsoft.
    These bytes are regular UTF-16 byte order marks. See here:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byte_order_mark#UTF-16
    If the tool you use on the RDP file does not support UTF-16, you can try to convert the file to ASCII. This will probably work for most RDP files, except if some
    string uses some unicode character not present in the ASCII character set. Here is some info (see the powershell section in the first post/question):
