Cfmail dash problems

Does coldfusion 7 support having an email address with a dash
in it. ie
[email protected]
I am getting this error in the log.
Invalid Addresses; nested exception is: class
javax.mail.SendFailedException: 501 5.5.4 Invalid Address
This is proving to be a big problem as dealing with many
users who have email addresses in this format.
Is there any workaround - ie converting email address to
ascii ??
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers

FYI...our organization has a dash (-) in the domain name and
have no problems sending email via cfmail.
We're running CFMX7.0.2
Good luck

    just put actual string
    http://mysite/usermailregistrationpage?code=ADGBDGDFGAXAFADFDA
    in the mail body, without surrounding it with <a> or
    anything.
    if your cfmail type is plain (default) it will be shown as
    text, while
    more recent email application may automatically show it as
    link
    (Thunderbird does).

  • Cfmail - wraptext problems

    I usually only do a wraptext in the cfmailpart for the text
    version of my emails, but recently put it in my cmail call because
    I had complaints that lines were too long for people who received
    it on a blackberry (which was set to take HTML). Now it's inserting
    a %0A in random places (like between a two letters in an image
    call, i.e. e%0Amail_logo2.jpg and basically messing up the HTML
    versions. Is there a way around this? Thanks in advance! Using CFMX
    6.1 on Windows

    This is normal.
    CfLib.org has smarter wrap functions.

  • Diamond dash problem

    I Downloaded it on my iPad my mother instantly wanted a go so I said go ahead, she linked it to her facebook and now it won't unlink from hers to mine, tried resseting app data tried redownloading, etc... and either way the app has binded to her acount and now I have nothing toi play because it is on her acount.

    You can only update an iPad 2 to iOS 6.0.1 (that is the only version that is 'signed' by Apple), so you will lose the built-in YouTube app and the Maps app will change.
    To update, connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Transfer Purchases. You may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. You can then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and selecting 'Backup'.
    Then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button

  • Em Dashes Revisited

    When I first upgraded to RH7, I noticed that all the em
    dashes in the projects I converted from RH2002 to RH7 displayed as
    &emdash; in my compiled help.
    The updates seem to have fixed that problem when
    converting/upgrading projects, but em dash support is still
    horribly (and frustratingly broken) for em dashes that I add when
    writing new content in RoboHelp 7.
    To add an em dash, I hold ALT and press 0151 on my numeric
    keypad. It's quick, and it works in every other application I've
    ever used. In fact, RoboHelp 7 makes me think it'll work in RH7,
    too, because the em dash displays correctly in the Design pane.
    However, when I run my compiled help, I see the dreaded
    &emdash; instead of my em dash.
    Yes, I could go to Insert > HTML > Symbol and then
    choose Em Dash, but that's incredibly clunky. I could also do a
    universal find/replace to replace &emdash; with <symbol
    name="Em Dash"><robohelp>&#8212;</robohelp>
    before I ship a help file, but that seems silly.
    If RoboHelp needs <symbol name="Em
    Dash"><robohelp>&#8212;</robohelp> why can't it
    just add that tag set when I hit ALT+0151?
    Frustrated,
    -kmcanney
    P.S. I know we were all glad to see Kadov tags go away, but
    how are these <robohelp> tags any better?

    Thanks for checking in, Peter.
    It's definitely not the font. I used every available font on
    my system, and I was still seeing &emdash;.
    Interestingly enough, we have another RH installation that
    doesn't exhibit the em dash problem (nor the problem I noted in
    another post that prevented me from typing a numeric value in the
    Font Size combo box).
    The combination led me to suspect that my installation might
    be corrupt, so I uninstalled RH7 using Control Panel > Programs
    and Features. After uninstalling, running the RH installer prompted
    me to repair or remove my installation, and I saw that all the
    installation files had been left behind. I let RoboHelp do the
    uninstallation this time, reinstalled, and then applied the 7.0.1
    and 7.0.2 patches. The problem persisted.
    I uninstalled again, deleted left-behind files again,
    reinstalled and went straight to the 7.0.2 patch. The problem
    persisted.
    We shared my coworker's program folder across the network,
    and I ran Beyond Compare on the two installation folders. Since we
    both had 7.0.2, I expected to see most files in sync. Not so. Many
    of the files in my C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp 7 folder
    were from 9/2007. It seems that the updater hadn't updated many of
    my files (including many DLLs in the C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe
    RoboHelp 7\RoboHTML folder).
    Using brute force, I updated my installation with the files
    from my coworker's, and all is now shiny and happy.
    Seems that something's quirky in the install/update behavior.
    We'll have to see what happens if/when a 7.0.3 patch is released.
    Thanks,
    -Kevin

  • Cfmailpart type="text" errors

    I cam trying to send an email message with the use of the
    cfmail tag like so:
    <cfmail from = "myemail" To = "myemail" Subject =
    "mysubject">
    <cfmailpart type="text" wraptext="72">
    Plain text content (roughly 2 ms word pages)
    </cfmailpart>
    <cfmailpart type="html">
    My HTML equivalent to the above content.
    </cfmailpart>
    </cfmail>
    My problem is the the content within the text version breaks
    at various point so different lines instead of the expected wrap at
    line 72. Some lines are only going about 20 characters or so and
    very inconsistent. Also, when testing the mail to an outside
    account such as hotmail, yahoo etc.. the mail is not getting
    delivered.

  • Problem with '-' (dash) in BEx web analyzer

    Hi All,
    we are having a strange problem with 0BPartner and 0Material. Our BPartner and Material have '-'(dash) sign as part of key. While selecting this BPartner/Material in Bex Analyzer, we do not have any problem, but when we try to select the same Bpartner/Material in BEx Web Analyzer, it puts an escape char in from of the dash. For eg:
    If i select the Bpartner "1234-5467" then in Web Analyzer selection box, it is displayed as  "1234\-5467" in the selection screen.
    If i do a search on 1234-5467, it returns zero value.But if i do a search on 1234\-5467, then i get the search hit.
    If i enter the Bpartner in the selection window directly and If i do not put the escape char, then it considers the input as range 1234 - 5467 and returns me no value in the report output.
    Has anyone had this type of issue? Please respond.
    Thanks
    Niveda

    Thanks Olivier,
    Sorry if you had misunderstood my question. They are 2 different Info objects. and i am having problem searching values in each one of these info objects.
    Let me explain it with an example.
    Scenario:
    Let say company defines material in the following format.
    "123", "456", "788", "345"....etc.
    And I have a report which has material as input selection.
    To run this report with single material i enter "123" in the selection screen
    To run this report with a range of materials, I need to enter 123 - 456 in the selection.
    I have no Issues
    Scenario 2.
    Consider a case if the materials are defined in SAP as "001-1234", "987-234"
    "123-234" etc.
    In this scenario, to run the same report for 1 material, i will enter 001-1234. But now the question is how will BW system interpret this material entry.
    Is this 1 single material(001-1234) or a material range (001 - 1234)??
    We have issue here. The system considers this material "001-1234" as a range (001 to 1234) instead of single material and gives me zero output.
    Any help??

  • Problem with dashed line spacing when printing to pdf

    Hi all,
    this may be a problem with my pdf program (I use bluebeam), but maybe someone will have an idea how to fix it whether in indesign or bluebeam.
    so I made a dashed line using the stroke command in indesign. I need to have the spacing set to 3pt dash and 2pt space. I also need to keep the lineweight to 0.5...this all works fine and appears correctly in indesign when I preview
    the problem is that some of the dashed lines, but not all of them, change size and spacing in the pdf when I view it. it seems to change when I zoom in and out as well. I thought maybe this was just some odd feature with bluebeam and it would still print to the correct size, but it does not, it prints the lines as different sizes. does anyone have an idea why this happens and how to fix? ive viewed and printed from adobe reader and it seems to be okay there but this file will be accessed by multiple other people and they may not be opening and printing in adobe reader..
    thanks guys

    When you export a PDF you will notice that you are exporting to Adobe PDF. Using any reader beyond Acrobat Pro or Reader is a crapshoot.
    For issues with Bluebeam I suggest you contact the developer.

  • Problem with dashed strokes

    I have a GeneralPath that I draw with two different BasicStrokes.

  • Apostrophes, quotation marks, dashes causing problems in emails

    MacBook Pro
    OS: 10.4.7
    Program: Mail
    Since upgrading to an Intel MacBook Pro (10.4.7), my outbound email has been turning into a weird jumble of glyphs.
    For some recipients, my apostrophes and quotation marks turn into a serious of four glyphs...for other recipients, all the dashes and em dashes disappear...for yet other recipients, all the punctuation completely vaporizes.
    I’m emailing to an extremely broad set of recipients, as they are my customers from all over the country. No single ISP is in common, no particular browser, etc. The only reason I even know about this is because I’m able to see the catastrophe in my original text included in their responses. Doesn’t matter whether I’m sending from home (with our cable company ISP) or from work (an entirely different cable company ISP)...same mess either way.
    Our outbound messages are nearly incomprehensible to read—any suggestions?
    MacBook Pro, G4 PowerBook, G4 tower   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    The only reason I even know about this is
    because I’m able to see the catastrophe in my
    original text included in their responses.
    That doesn't necessarily mean that your outbound mail is appearing strange to the reader. I would advise you to check that and verify that you really have a problem.
    If your readers do see strange characters, it is often because you are sending rich text (which is really html mail) and they are using MS Outlook. Some possible fixes are in this note:
    http://homepage.mac.com/thgewecke/woutlook.html
    PS Getting rid of all smart punctuation (curly quotes and apostrophe's, special dashes) may also be helpful.

  • Dashed Line Print Problem

    I used the arch tool to create sine waves in Illustrator which are shown below. When the EPS is placed into Acrobat and the PDF is printed the ends of the dashed sine waves print as solid lines. I tried grouping each sine wave and that did not solve the problem. Does anyone have a solution?

    Yeah, but you didn't put it in Quark where it goes on my end.
    Keeping on topic here. Okay I tried several tests here. Upon placing the file into quark and producing a pdf from Quark is where I did see an issue. It appears as though somehow the spacing on the dots is getting funked up.
    The workarounds that I have found is to either save as a pdf out of illustrator -OR- If it must be placed into Quark and then saved as a pdf (for whatever reason...and no I don't recommend) outlining the stroke in illustrator before sending through Quark.
    FYI, I use CS 3 on MAC 10.5.7, Quark 6.52, Acrobat Pro 9.1.1, and HP Deskjet 6540

    When I click on photos tab, I get a circular dashed loading icon that is perpetually there. It never loads the library. i dont even see the iphoto content! thx for your help!

    I am certain too that it is possibly the 7.0.3 update. Have you tried restoring from backup? I am uncertain that might work but its worth a try.
    If that doesn't work I suggest that you give feedback to Apple directly. The more about this problem, the quicker it will get resolved.

    Requestor's Information:
    #form.AgentName#
    #form.balanceofoutput# , etc.
    The problem is the output in the from field is a comma
    separated set of values: agent name, email address, voice mail,
    cell phone. When the recipient hits the reply button the "To" field
    in the response message contains all the data including agent name,
    email address, voice mail, cell and of course this fails.
    How can I separate or identify the from email address so the
    recipient can just reply to the message when the get it::;
    I have tried <cfset form.email = reply> without
    success. Nothing happens.
    Can someone please point me in the right direction? Thank you
    in advance.

    Thanks for the response, Dempster. I have tried doing what
    you suggested and think you have a good point regarding the comma
    in a name. I actually have that situation and never thought about
    it before.
    Anyway, I am throwing errors (Id not defined in form) when I
    write the query on the cfmail page; the query reads:
    <cfquery name="AgentData" datasource="TripStats"
    username="un" password="pw">
    Select ID,AgentName,VoiceMail,CellPhone,eMail
    From Agent
    Where ID = 'Form.ID'
    </cfquery>
    The the select list again is:
    <td colspan="3"><select name="AgentName"
    size="1">
    <option>-- Select Name --</option>
    <cfoutput query="Agent">
    <option
    value="#ID#,#AgentName#,#email#,#VoiceMail#,#CellPhone#">#AgentName#</option>
    </cfoutput>
    </select>
    Does that make sense?
