CharacterFormat fails to take values

I'm finding that CharacterFormat (soon ITextLayoutFormat)
fails to take a value of "regular" for fontStyle. This code
illustrates the case (attached)
On the first run the traces are as expected, setting the text
to italic:
"existing fontWeight: normal"
"existing fontStyle: regular"
"new fontStyle: italic"
"should be: italic"
But when I click my italic button again it fails to reset the
text to regular because the "italic" CharacterFormat will not take
a value of FontStyle.REGULAR when using a conditional assignment
(ternary or if-else), the final trace shows the outcome of this
conditional assignment, it just never actually gets assigned (it
remains null). So the traces for when the text is already italic
are:
"existing fontWeight: normal"
"existing fontStyle: italic"
"new fontStyle: null"
"should be: regular"
I'm not using bold here so there's nothing running through
the BOLD_ITALIC stuff.

I guess this is where I should:
a) read the docs in minute detail
b) not rely on naming conventions when string assignment is
involved
The problem was fontStyle does not take a string found in
FontStyle, it takes a string in FontPosture, so "luckily"
FontStyle.ITALIC married up with the string for FontPosture.ITALIC,
but of course FontStyle.REGULAR was not suitable in place of the
FontPosture.NORMAL string.
It's a shame we don't have real enums because this naming
convention really threw me where other properties like fontWeight
do use a class that matches name-wise (FontWeight). I imagine this
won't be such a problem when the ASDoc hints the class types
instead of just String.

    Hi,
    could it be the begin_ and end_ Colums of your query?
    Seems SQL*PLUS hs parsing problems?
    try to fetch another column from that table
    and see if the error raises again.

    Hi,
    It would be better if you could provide the steps in details about how you customize your Edit Form.
    Anyway, you can take a look at the similar thread below, there is someone stuck with the similar issue before:

  • Failed to take snapshot of one or more contents in package

    We have two main SCCM site system servers, and all of a sudden (everything was working before, no change) the applications would not distribute to the DPs.

    I tried granting Everyone full control for both Share and NTFS, and granting the site server computer account full control, still the same issue.  I could access it manually w/ the UNC path and read/write/delete all of its contents.
    If I copy the folder to another server and point it there in the Application, it distributes the content to DPs just fine.

    I tried replacing ntfs permissions on all the folders, still getting Win32 last error = 5

  • SOS: XAML binding Error: Converter failed to convert value of type '...' to to type '...'

    Hi, I'm working on a small Windows store App project using C# + XAML, and encountered a really weird problem with data binding in XAML. The error message is:
    Error: Converter failed to convert value of type 'Neptune.MyMatch, SkyNet, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' to type
    'ProgressableBase'; BindingExpression: Path='' DataItem='Neptune.MyMatch, SkyNet, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'; target element is 'MyControls.ProgressableViewControl' (Name='root'); target property is 'Progressable'
    (type 'ProgressableBase').
    Error: Converter failed to convert value of type 'Neptune.MyMatch, SkyNet, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' to type
    'IMatchWrapper'; BindingExpression: Path='' DataItem='Neptune.MyMatch, SkyNet, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'; target element is 'MyControls.MatchScoreControl' (Name='root'); target property is 'Match' (type 'IMatchWrapper').
    the XAML code snippet involved is:
    <local:MatchScoreControl Match="{Binding Converter={StaticResource TestConverter}}" />
    here:
    1) The type of the 'Match' property of 'MatchScoreControl' is 'IMatchWrapper', the type of the DataContext is 'MyMatch';
    2) 'MyMatch' is derived from 'ProgressableBase' and implemented
    'IMatchWrapper';
    3) below is the definition of 'MatchScoreControl' and its dependency property 'Match':
    public sealed partial class MatchScoreControl : UserControl
    public IMatchWrapper Match
    get { return (IMatchWrapper)GetValue(MatchProperty); }
    set { SetValue(MatchProperty, value); }
    public static readonly DependencyProperty MatchProperty =
    DependencyProperty.Register("Match", typeof(IMatchWrapper), typeof(MatchScoreControl), new PropertyMetadata(null, OnMatchPropertyChanged));
    private static void OnMatchPropertyChanged(DependencyObject d, DependencyPropertyChangedEventArgs e)
    // this line will never get called
    Debug.WriteLine(e.NewValue.GetType().FullName);
    } //more code...
    4) TestConverter is a dummy value converter(IValueConverter) which does nothing just to make sure the binding object and target type is as expected:
    public sealed class TestConverter : IValueConverter
    public object Convert(object value, Type targetType, object parameter, string language)
    if (targetType != typeof(IMatchWrapper))
    throw new NotImplementedException("Error: targetType is not IMatchWrapper.....");
    if (!(value is IMatchWrapper))
    throw new NotImplementedException("Error: value is not IMatchWrapper...");
    return (IMatchWrapper)value;
    public object ConvertBack(object value, Type targetType, object parameter, string language)
    throw new NotImplementedException();
    When I run the app, none of the two exceptions in the TestConverter.Convert() is thrown, which is right and as expected. But the out window keeps throwing the error message as above. This is pretty weird!
    I've tried adding a parameterless constructor to the class 'MyMatch', but it doesn't work.
    Any suggestion would be appreciated!

    Good to know you have the solution and thanks for sharing the experience.

  • Exception message, failed to get value, could not load managed metadata, invalid field name

    Hi, i have created some site collection columns with managed metdata and taxonomy term sets. I have then created some site content types of those site columns. Some of them function properly and some don't.
    When i have created or uploaded a document to the document library i start to "tag" the document by first choosing witch conent type i want too use, but when it comes to save the document it renders an error message(its not the full content
    of the message):
    "exception message, failed to get value, could not load managed metadata, invalid field name"
    I have created some other site content types before and with the same site columns and they do not generate a error message. Is there a solution for my dilemma?

  • Pulse train generation fails with certain values for "number of samples"

    I'm generating a retriggerable analog output signal, and so I'm using a counter as the sample clock (see: Retriggerable AI Using Retriggerable Counter). I am finding that, above a certain number of samples, and only for certain values of the number of samples, the counter task gives me error -200305, "Desired finite pulse train generation is not possibe." The error crops up only when actually starting the task.
    The analog signal that I'm trying to generate will be about 800 kHz, so my counter is set to run at the same frequency. I find that the counter task works fine if the number of samples to generate is anywhere between zero and 671,088 samples. Setting the number of samples to 671,089 gives the error above, as does 671,090 samples and so on. However, using 671,096, the counter task works fine. After that, the counter seems to output fine only if the number of samples is divisible by 8.
    The only thing I can think of is that (617088 samples) / (800000 Hz) = 0.839 s. At the internal clock rate of 20 MHz, 0.839 s is 2^24 samples, and it is a 24-bit counter on this hardware. So if it's this internal counter rolling over, that's fine and I can work around that. But if that's the case, what I don't understand is why increasing the number of samples in increments of 8 samples still works.
    The hardware is a PXI-6733 board, running with LabView 7.1.1 and NI-DAQmx 8.1.

    Hmmm,  multiples of 50 & 100?  Now I'm puzzled again.
    Here's how to make sense of the 100 kHz timebase idea though, even if it turns out not to be the right explanation.  For a retriggerable finite pulse train, you actually use a pair of counters.  If you were to program it manually, you could set your output counter to generate a continuous pulsetrain at 800 kHz using the internal 20 MHz timebase.  This output counter would also be configured to use the other counter's output as a digital level-based pause trigger.  So the 800 kHz pulsetrain is only output while the other counter's output is, say, high.
    The other counter is configured for retriggerable pulse generation.  The pulse duration or high time should be set for (# pulses) / (800e3 pulses/sec).  This other counter can be configured to use the 100 kHz timebase, so its high time would then have to be an integer multiple of 10 usec.
    So let's see...  An 800 kHz pulsetrain is possible with a 20 MHz timebase (exactly 25 cycles).  A 700 kHz (28 + 4/7 cycles) or 900 kHz (22 + 2/9 cycles) is not.  So when you request those other frequencies, you actually get a near approximation.  I dunno if DAQmx can be queried for the actual value correctly or not -- I recall an early version that reported back whatever freq you had asked for rather than what it actually used.  Queries based on ticks (rather than time or freq) did return what was actually used, as I recall.
    Let's suppose a request for 700 kHz gets truncated to 28 cycles of the 20 MHz timebase making a 1.4 usec period.  Then 50 of those periods becomes 70 usec, which is evenly divisible by the 100 kHz timebase.  Bingo!  (Note: 70 is the least common multiple of 10 and 1.4)
    Now suppose the request for 900 kHz turns into 22 cycles of the 20 MHz timebase, or a 1.1 usec period.  Now it takes 100 of those periods to get to 110 usec, which is also evenly divisible by the 100 kHz timebase.  Bingo again!  (Note: 110 is the lcm of 10 and 1.1).
    Did you follow the method here?  It should help you figure out expected results for various output freqs and #'s of samples.
    -Kevin P.

  • Request failed with SID value not found

    Hi Gurus, I have this error message "No SID found for value '15.00' of charateristic 0CURKEY_TC" and similar message with "10.00" and "*0.0" value, when trying to activate data in standard DSO in BI7.0.
    This is a Dev system just setup for traning purposes so I do not have any Master data to load. I am only loading transactional data from DataSource 0PU_IS_PS_32
    I tried searching for the answer and did the following
    1) Transfer Global Settings from the source system (which solved other problems but not this one)
    2) In RSRV, I do not see any errors for this InfoObject
    3) I am not sure how I can update table T006 and or TCURC with these values?
    I also tried following the Note: 619987 and does not know how I can implement this function module "If you nevertheless receive this error message for the initial value, this means that there is an inconsistency in the SID table for the 0UNIT or 0CURRENCY characteristic. You can eliminate this inconsistency by calling the RSDMD_INITIAL_LINE_INSERT function module with I_CHABASNM = 0UNIT or 0CURRENCY"
    Is there any help that anybody can extend, it will be greatly appreciated.

    Dear,
    SID error comes during activation of ODS because the related MD is not available for assigning SIDs.
    So as a first step ensure that the related master data is loaded and Attribute change run has been triggered.
    Or Load the MD and Activate the MD (Modeling > InfoObject > Search the Infoobject > Right click > Activate Master Data)
    Once you perform this you can retrigger the activation. It should work fine.
    Else as a workaround you can blank out these particular values and activate.
    There is also one more workaround wherein you can create the Master data entries directly in BW itself. But both the above step should be done after consulting Business and considering data volume that needs to be edited/created.
    In most case once you perform the loading and activation of MD your activation should work fine when repeated.
    There are cases where it failed again with the same error. In that case try this also (ensure that PSA is there).
    Delete the request in red.
    Go to monitor
    Edit > Setting for further update > Packet should be processed in the background.
    Edit > Update Reversal > Read everything manually > Yes
    Background processing successfully scheduled
    Then you can see the Load running again.
    Once this is done perform activation again
    Hope it helps
    Regards
    Bala

  • SSIS package fails when Configuration value has value saved into the package

    when a package is migrated from dev to QA and to PROD sometimes it fails since the variables have values in them saved into the package.
    what we do is clear these values manually and restart the job.
    Is there a way we can clear the variables when saving the package or at least programmatically?
    eddy.a

    Hello Arthur
    Thank you for your response. I should start by apologizing by not making myself clear. We do use indirect configuration that work cross environments however this is the issue that we have:
    when the package is first created say you create a DB Variable called A and you enter value A in the variable to test the package. After the package development is tested, you change the configuration values to fetch data whether from an excel file or from
    an XML.
    when you run on environment A the package runs fine however when you move over to environment B it seems that first it validates against A then overwrites B - if environment A is not there anymore the package sometimes fails.
    we are changing these manually for now but I was wondering if there's a way to prevent it.
    thanks
