Charge customer for repair manufacturing defect

My device's side frame bulged itself when I wasn't even using it! I was so astonished by the poor quality since I bought it only five months ago. This was definitely a manufacuring fault so I sent it back. But what I got as a replay was 'the display of your device was damaged', which didn't even match the situation of my device as I didn't experience any isssues with display or screen  In addition, Sony even asked me to pay £104 for replacing the display - which was caused by their manufacturing defect!!! Now I regretted so so much buying a Sony mobile phone. I felt like being treated as a cashbox now! So disappointed with the quality of the device and the after sale support.

I'm sorry to hear that but you have to contact your local Xperia Care http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/contactUs/

  • Why should I suffer as a customer for the manufacturing fault of Apple?

    - Manufacturing fault of Apple results in wake up /sleep button not working
    - Unable to switch off and restart the phone properly
    - Apple recalls the product but requires me to take the product to US while I am living in SA
    - For the mistake of Apple, one customer service indicates it is not reasonable to have expected the issue while later indicates I should have anticipated and hence should incurr a cost of USD 1200 (additional no phone for months) to have the same fixed.
    - For the mistake of Apple, on indicating I am willing to pay outside US to fix the issue, indicates that I have no solution but to have to send to US.

For whose fault - Apples Fault. Now as stated earlier the issue is not due to usage that requires warranty rather it is due to MANUFACTURING FAULT. Recall guideline are different from warranty guideline. The phone is outside warranty and now to refer to a manufacturing defect resulting in a recall and then linking to the warranty guideline is unfair to the customer.
Well my friend, we dont even have to go through all this then - simply state tough luck apple user - its our mistake but you know we told you after warranty guideline. Is it reasonable to assume a persons life wont change after more than a year (outside warranty period) ? Well what I signed up for warranty was within the warranty period I accept the requirement of fixing the phone in US. Had Apple found the issue the next day I could have fixed it while I was in US. Well the issue to occur after more than 1.5 yrs and been told you can not fix it anywhere outside US.

That's your problem, not Apple's.  It is your responsibility, as a consumer, to be aware of the terms & conditions of your warranty.  Why didn't you sell your iPhone or give it to a friend or family member if it was going to be a temporary relocation?
It's called 'personal responsibility'.  Learn it.
Show me where Apple stated that the iPhone you bought has an international warranty.  Please.  I'll wait.

That's your problem, not Apple's.  It's not Apple's fault that you reside in an area or region that is so restrictive.  Were you forced to go to that country from the U.S., or did you choose to do so?

It's not a recall.  It's an extension of the warranty service.  And it clearly states on the website about the program that: Apple may restrict or limit repair to the original country of purchase. [https://www.apple.com/support/iphone5-sleepwakebutton/]

  • Reparation process for goods delivered back from customer for repair

    Dear friends,
I have to create an "easy" process with which we can create a sort of "return from customer". This process should enable us to create us a "customer stock". So value should not be on our plant but we need to show, that there is a material received back from the customer. We also need to be able to purchase materials and then put the cost on project or internal order. Depends on the reparation.
Unfortunately, I do not have so many MM process consulting experience and would need some support from your side.
Thank you very much for any help you can give me!
    Bjoern

    Hi,
You can follow the process, if suitable for customer repair process
    A. MM01 - Define your customer materials (both component and finished product, if same create only 1 material) as non valuated material, because these materials not effecting the your inventory.
    B. CS01 - Create BOM for finished product( If same maintain same material)
    C. VA01 - Create sales order for service charges with reference to your customer Purcahse Order.
    D.  MIGO - Receive the component(if same, receive same material) from your customer through 501 E (with out po sales order specific).
    E. CO01 - Create Production order with reference to sales order  manually.
    F. CO11N - Confirm the production order
    G. MIGO - Receive the finished product/same material after repaired against Order {MT 101}
    H. VL01N - Delivery to customer as in normal sales process.
    I. VF01 - Then create Billing to your customer.
Note: Extra material added during repaired process on material, can be tracked in other process or can be accounted separately.

  • How much would Apple charge me for repairs?

Apple told me that they would charge me up to $359.00 for my ipod touch They said "If apple confirms that service is covered but you fail to follow instructions on returning the part, you will be charged a non return fee of $359.00" Why is it so much? My iPod cost less than that!

    - Unless the iPod is unrepairable, Apple will exchange the iPod for a refurbished one for this price:
Apple - Support - iPod - Repair pricing
    - Are you contacting Apple or an Authorized Service Provider?

  • Why won't Verizon return a phone to a customer if it was damaged during returned shipping BUT will charge you for it  $300   .... I would like the phone back and repair it...

they lie say they cant... when they actually can... it is just a policy they have that says CANT....

Standard operating procedures.  All about the Benjamins baby. Don't send a damaged phone for warrant claim if that's what happened file an ins. Claim or have it repaired.

  • I was eligible for replacement for my iphone 5 under the sleep/wake button program. Took it to apple store and they declined saying hardware failure. I am baffled whether apple is serious about customers. They manufacture defective goods and we are stuck!

The issue started just out of warranty. Had powering on problem and did not want to spend money on repair. After that the phone crashed and refused to power on for 4 months. Now I am eligible for repair but apple store declined saying it is a hardware problem and beyond repair. I am not able to comprehend the attitude of Apple. Obviously manufacturing sub standard products is their fault and we are paying heavy price!!
The company is obviously gonna lose in the long run!!

No it is not user damAged. I would like to clarify that this piece had problems like bugs, power on and off and charging issues. It used to heat up a lot while in use. It is defective iphone to begin with. Now when iphone acknowledges there is a problem, why not replace??
If the phone was not operating as its supposed to initially you could of had the phone replaced under the 1Year Warranty. Apple is only Fixing phones with strictly "sleep/wake" button issues. i.e. if your phone has other issues other than "sleep/wake" you must fix those on your own (if out of warranty) prior to apple fixing the sleep/wake. However if your device is under warranty they will give you a new phone.

Can you take a photo of the damage? Once before I saw an LCD that arrived truly internally cracked. The ink was in a perfect circle, writing off any user fault.
In the worst case situation, it might be worthwhile to call Lenovo and purchase a new screen. If you purchase one through them, you can get warranty support for the new screen. I realize that is a terrible alternative, as you should not have to invest more money, but it is the cheapest route to get a functioning LCD.

You don't.  Apple's warranty provides for replacing your device with an identical model (same model, carrier, capacity & color).
And you aren't getting a new iPhone.  You'll be getting a remanufactured iPhone, which has gone through a more thorough inspection than any new iPhone ever does.
If you want a newer model, then trade-in or privately sell your current device and use the proceeds towards purchasing another device.

  • Customer unit coming in for repair

    Hello All:
I am hoping I am posting this in the right forum So I am posting in a few places....I am in desperate need of help...we are at our year end and have an issue that I need to clear up badly.  We are using ECC 6.0
    Scenerio
When we perform an inbound delivery on a customer unit coming in for repair, it automatically creates the service order in (IW31).  The technician then releases it and repairs the unit.  At times he may need material from the stock room for the repair.  He adds this to his service order and it creates an automatic reservation.  The stockroom issues the material in MIGO to the service order.  If the technician decides he does not need the material he will then take it back to the stockroom for them to cancel the goods issue to the service order.  We learned that the stockroom when doing the cancellation was cancelling the document to the order and not cancelling to the material document number....
    Problem
When cancelling to the order it was putting this in a different GL account.
Goods issue to GL account 5XXXXXX
    Cancellation to GL account 6XXXXXXX
So when we were doing the DP90 (billing request) the GL account number 6XXXXXX was popping up saying that the cost element is without combination odf the ZProfile (ODP1).  The set up of the ODp1 is not the problem as we are not maintaining any of the cost elements there.
We tried to reverse the cancellation that was done to the order and cancel to the material document number so that it grabbed the correct GL account number...however the service order still shows the account number 6XXXXXXX in the actual costs...and when I try to run the DP90 again I get the same error.....I am not sure how the cost center is being derived in the service order for this as the technicians do not enter a cost center/element at all.  They do chnage the account indicator at times but that is it.
Please give me any guidance as where to look so I can get this fixed.
I have tried to get with consultants but they are at a lost.

Hi JP and thanks for your response.
I am understanding what you are saying however when I am looking at the OBYC and OPUU I see different things..
First to start my valuation class is 7901
OPUU does not appear to have the profile set up for the service orders...I am only seeing two:
    T&M-Fixd-R&D-Exp NW Profile w/Act. Asgmt
    and
    Capital NW Profile w/Act. Asgmt
In the OBYC transaction I do see the 5XXXXX with the GBB general modifier VBR only
In the OBYC transaction I do not see the 5XXXXX or the 6XXXXX  with the BSX the valuation class 7901 starts with 13XXXX
Any more help?  Is this a finance issue?

  • Add custom field for Item Manufacturer logo?

    Hi All,
I would like to add a custom field to hold manufacturers logo file names.
I want to be able to print out Item Price lists by Brand (manufacturer) that display the manufacturers logo at the top of the page. The Price List includes the Item code and description along with List Price and Dealer Cost Price.
I have prepared a user query with two variables (Manufacturer and Price List) that returns the correct data. I have also prepared a PLD layout that formats the document as expected.....all except for the manufacturer logo.
Here is the query for the Brand Specific Dealer Price List:
    SELECT T0.[ItemCode], T0.[ItemName], (SELECT price from ITM1 where ItemCode=t0.ItemCode and PriceList=6)
As 'RRP Inc GST', T2.[Price] As 'Dealer Cost Ex GST', T4.[ItmsGrpNam] FROM OITM T0  INNER JOIN OMRC T1 ON
    T0.FirmCode = T1.FirmCode INNER JOIN ITM1 T2 ON T0.ItemCode = T2.ItemCode INNER JOIN OPLN T3 ON
    T2.PriceList = T3.ListNum INNER JOIN OITB T4 ON T0.ItmsGrpCod = T4.ItmsGrpCod WHERE T1.[FirmName] = [%0]
    And  T3.[ListName]  = [%1]
I hope to be able to add a logo field to the OMRC table (I assume?), and then be able to return that on the PLD layout.
This would be a perfect result for my requirement as we could print or email formated Brand (manufacturer) specific dealer price lists (with variable price list pricing) on demand.
Any help would be most appreciated.
    Best regards,
    John

  • HT3302 How much will be charged for replacing a cracked screen for iPhone 5? How long it will take for repair?

    Hi Folks,
I am a visitor and had my iPhone 5 cracked the front screen today, I just want to know how long it will take for repair if I send to Apple USA, and the charge for the replacement of the cracked screen.
Thanks for your advice in advance, I am currently in LA and will put into LA Apple Store asap.

Warranty and support are only valid in the country of origin.
If the device was not purchased in the US, an Apple store in the US will not touch it.

  • CRM - Automatic Return Delivery for Customer Owened Repair sales order

    Hi Guys,
We are implementing Customer Owned Repair sales order Process in CRM and requirement is that once order gets replicated in ECC, automatic Return delivery should be created.
    We have following settings done,
    1. Order Type ZREP has automatic delivery creation set : A
    2. Item category has special stock indicator E and and Returns
    3. schedule line category IR has 653 Movement with special Stock E and availability is not flagged.
so in this configuration, when i create Order Manually, Return delivery gets created automatically even if there is Zeor stock (Schedule line confirms the Qty) but while Order gets replicated from CRM it does not because schedule line does not confirm the qty (Zero Qty).
Please advise on this asap as we are in verge of delivery and facing this issue.
    Regards,
    Dharmesh.

    Hello Peter,
Regarding Posting of Goods Issue for Spare Parts in SAP R/3 Materials Management,
The data posted depends on the logistics scenario(s) that you use. The system therefore first determines the logistics scenario defined for the combination of transaction type, item category, service organization, and other relevant information required for the scenario (for example, movement type or special stock indicator in SAP R/3).
Availability information informs you whether the service parts are currently in stock. Each service part item generates a reservation in the back end system, which can be used to trigger an early procurement process.
