ChaRM - Moving Transports to Production

Hi,
In ChaRM when we move transports to the production system either via a batch job or manually from the SCMA transaction we find that some SDHF corrections which are in the To Be Tested state are moved to production system along with the normal corrections. can this be prevented in some way ?
Regards,
Vinod

Let me add some more information....
We are having an issue where SDHF Transports in a status of "To Be Tested" are imported in production along with Normal Correction Transports when the Maintenance Cycle is set to "Go-Live". It was previously our understanding that when SCMA is used to import Transports for a Maintenance Cycle project, SDHF Transports that are still in a "To Be Tested" status will not be imported until they were successfully tested and received Change Manager approval. SAP recommends that we implement a manual process to review / address open SDHFcorrections and ensure they are either in the status of "In Development" or have been manually imported prior to setting the Maintenance Cycle to "Go Live". Due to the amount of SDHF Corrections that we implement for the HCM system, this will be a difficult manual task.

Vinod

  • ChaRM - Import Transport Request - Production

    Hello Dears,
I have some issues/doubts with my ChaRM process.
    - Before the u201CImport Transport Request (Background)u201D on QAS environment, if I change the status to u201CGo Liveu201D in SCMA, I can u201CImport Transport Request (Background)u201D on PRD environment, without any verification in the support message.
Example: If the support message was in u201CTest statusu201D, on SCMA I can import to production environment. Wouldnu2019t have be a check or lock to not allow this action?
    - Exist any way to select the requests to import to PRD environment?

    Fabio
you have several options to schedule transports for like every hour
TMS jobs must be scheduled via STMS.  To do this:
    1) Goto transaction STMS
    2) Select 'Overview --> Imports'
    3) Double click on the system you wish to schedule the job for
    4) Click on the truck icon to schedule an import all job (only import
all jobs may be scheduled as periodic)
    5) Fill in target client, if necessary
    6) Select 'At start time' and fill in the date and time
    7) Next to 'Period' there is a box with a gray background.  If you
click in the box a drop-down arrow will appear.  Click on this.
    8) Select your period from the menu options and click on the green
       check.
    9) Click on the green check again and your job will be scheduled.
    or
you schedule the automatic import of u_rgent corrections via /TMWFLOW/SCMA_BTCH_SYNC_UC

  • Solution Manager/Charm and Transport Dependency Check

    Hello Everyone,
I apologize if this question has an obvious answer.  I have searched SDN and could not get a 100% answer.
We are just now in the process of rolling out Charm/Solution Manager and I have noticed that it appears to not perform transport dependency checks.  For example, let's say I am working on object ABC and have completed my testing (ready for transport to production) and then another developer also starts development on object ABC.  When my change is moved to production, it will pick up the other developers modifications without giving a warning or an error that a dependency has been encountered between the two transport requests.
Does Charm/Solution Manager offer the option of producing a warning should a transport depedency be identified?  If so, will someone explain (or point me to the appropriate documentation) how this can be set up?
    Best Regards,
    Scott

    Hi Scott,
ChaRM supports imports from DEV->QAS->PRD by transport by transport requests level not by transport request task level. So don't worry(i.e., You can't import only your change of object ABC to production. It allows to import your change and other user's change of object ABC together to production).
This is how it works(if more than an user works on the same object):
    1. Requester creates a support message from satelitte system to report a problem.
    2. Service desk employee creates a change document because some changes need to be done on object ABC to correct that reported problem.
    3. Change Manager approves the change document. So a normal correction is created automatically.
    4. This normal correction is assigned to 2 developers(your scenario) like for an example DVPR1 and DVPR2.
    5. DVPR1 creates a transport request and does some changes on object ABC. So a transport task will be created for DVPR1 under that transport request automatically.
    6. When DVPR2 tries to do some changes on the same object ABC, a seperate transport task(not a transport request) will be created for DVPR2 under the same transport request because the object ABC is locked under the transport request. So DVPR2 can't create a separate transport request for the same object if any transport request is pending(not released).
    7. Now object ABC will have one transport request. That transport request will have 2 transport tasks(1 for DVPR1 and 1 for DVPR2).
    8. Each developer relases their transport task only(not transport request) once he/she completes his/her change on the object ABC.
    9. DVPR1 or DVPR2 will change the status of normal correction to "Development Completed".
    10. Now, IT operator or DVPR1 or DVPR2 can release the transport request. The transport request can be released only if all tasks are released under the same transport request.
(In this example: DVPR1 completed his change and released his transport task. Next DVPR2 completed and released his transport task).
    11. Finally IT operator import the transport request to QAS and PRD.
Hope you are clear now. Let me know if you have any doubts.

    Sanjai

  • ChaRM without transport

We'd like to implement ChaRM without transport management yet. But we still need to create transport requests from the UC, so we do need to create a maintenance cycle. Or is there a way to create UCs with transport requests without project and maintenance cycle?
However, upon creation of MC full configuration of the TMS is required! All transports to QAS and PRD are going to be done manually. Do we still need to configure the transport routes?

So, I need to create two consolidation routes for the two layers from DEV to QAS and one delivery route from QAS to PRD ADDITIONALY to the already existing transport routes and this won't be a problem for the existing configuration?
    > "Create the consolidation transport routes to SMM:200, transport route must be CLIENT SPECIFIC for the use in Charm scenario, this is real important!"
If I change the transport strategy of the three systems to "client specific", won't this require change of ALL other transport routes that have already been defined for those systems?
    > "RFC connections from Solution Manager to DEV, QUA and PRD system, donu2019t forget to create also SM_..._TMW connection to all satellites DEV, QUA and PRD, to clients with customizing, test and production roles, in our example, we will create the RFC connection to 100, 200 and 300. Also to client 000 of all the involved systems, DEV, QUA and PRD systems in our example."
Does this mean I have to have an user in all three systems including in all three 000-clients?

I am trying to copy photos from an iPad to a Mac Air, but iPhoto does not recognize them. Please forgive the ignorance, but we have just started moving to apple products and I know nothing about them. Do you have to use PhotoStream to do this?

How did the photos that you want to copy off get on the iPad  ? To copy photos to your computer that were taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites then see this page - on a Mac you should be able to use iPhoto, Aperture or Image Capture
To copy photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app on your iPad such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.

  • Is there a way to see what has been transported to Production

Hello all and thank you in advance for your responses, points will be award..
Need  to determine what  has been transported to production with time and stamp information. Been looking around with RSA1 and  just not able to find the right buttons or TC to get the correct information.
    Any suggestions.....
    Thank you Jim

    Hello Jim,
Check the logs in STMS.  That will show what has been imported.
Choose your import queue for your production box.  Once you are viewing that, you can click on the 'Scroll' icon which gives you the 'Import History'.
Be sure you adjust the filter accordingly to see everything.
    Thanks,
    Nick

  • Moving Transport Set from 9.0.4 to 10.1.2.0.0 environment

    Hi,
I am moving transport set from 9.0.4 environment to 10.1.2.0.0 environment.
But when I import it on 10.1.2.0.0 environment I get the compatibility error,
I am using imp.sh to import. Following error occurs when I try to import:
    Checking for Portal Version Compatibility...
Error: Source and Target Portals are of different versions
    Cannot proceed with Import
Could any one let me know, Is there any way to move the transport set from old version to the new one. Apart from upgrading the old one.
    -Santosh

    Santosh,
No, sorry but there isn't a supported way of doing this.
Oracle Portal only allows you to use the Portal Export / Import between the same level of patching. Trying possible workarounds will lead you in an unsupported state.
The only way as you've said is to upgrade your older version to the same level of the newly installed version, ie, bring your 9.0.4 to 10.1.2.0.x.
Metalink Note:263995.1 - Master Note for OracleAS Portal Export / Import Issues may help you.
    I hope it helps...
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • How to check transport in Production environment

    Hi,
I did some standard configuration as OBYA (Intercompany automatic Posting clearing account) in development Box and get it transported to Production.
I have to verify that the configuration I have done has been transported to Production Environment.
Where should I check? I don't have access to SE16 in Production.
    Quick response will be appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards.

    hi Mehak,
go to transaction SE01 (either in development/customizing or in production system), in the first tabstrip enter the transport number and click on Log (2nd Pushbutton). This will display the Transport Log, and you can see if there were no errors during import into Production System, then your changes are there.
    hope this helps

These are various classification for utilization purpose
IDH Removal from factory on payment of duty for Home use
IDE Removal on payment of duty for export under no bond
and there are two or three more i dont remember exactly, but you can get that by searching.....

this is different from LoU,  IDE is Classification for Removal on payment of duty for export no bond

We have to make utilization determination based excise grp & series grp....
    SPRO>Logistics u2013 General>Tax on Goods Movements>India>Business Transactions--> Utilization -->Utilization Determination
Detailed about this is already discussed previously also.
    [Utilization|Excise Utilization]

  • Problem in Transporting to Production

    Hi,
I need to transport "HRMS_BW_TXT_EMPLOYEE" object to production. how can i make a request to transport this from Development to Production...
    Regards,
    Abhishek

    Hi,
Have you tested your object in quality system before moving it in to production?Transporting activities will be primarily taken care of by BASIS guys.So you can inform your BASIS guys to transport.
Incase if you need to transport then first release the task then request and then transport.
    Use SE09/SE10.

  • Looking to confirm the successfully MOVED Transport Requests & their order

    Hi,
I have manually ordered about 20 requests which were successfully transported from Dev to Quality; After 6 months of testing, I now need to move them to production.
Is there a way to know these objects which were successfully moved by Basis to Quality in the order in which they were moved (Those days there were a number of them which failed and had to be fixed released again on Dev, etc. so it has become a bit confusing)
    Thanks

    Hi,
Thanks for the input but I already checked se09 in DEV and it gives which transport requests I released.
But note that it is not request that I released that got moved to Quality.
Also, even for those which were moved, under Released, it only gives me the ORDER in which I released the requests and not the order in which Basis MOVED the physical objects to Quality
    Finally, you said  to
"...make sure all are transported in QA already to keep in sync ..."
what did you mean by "in sync"?
    Thanks

  • The sequence of moving TR to production

Hi Expert, current the solution is I have appended the structure for 2LIS_11_VAITM and code change in CMOD. now I need to move the TR to production.
I think the sequence will be below,:
1.[R3] LBWE schedule a job to move data from update queue(lbwq) to delta queue (rsa7)
2.[BW] run delta infopackage to load data from r3 delta queue
3.Make sure that both LBWQ and RSA7 is empty (for 2lis_11_vaitm)
4.[R3] move R3 TR to production system.
    5.[BW] datasource replication and initialization<?>
6.[BW] move BW TR to production system.
one thing I am not sure is that the datasource initialization should be done before the BW tr transport or after that.
please fell free add your comments. thank you in advance.
Edited by: YAODAN on Jun 18, 2011 6:36 PM

If it is 3.x flow then you have to move BW TR before performing Initialization.
If it is 7.0 flow then you can do initialization before or after moving BW TR.  It depends on only datasource replication.  The mandatory thing is, you have to replicate your Datasoure before initialization.
The other steps in the sequence are perfect.

  • BEx Query to be transported from Production to Development

    Hi All,
We have got an unusual scenario in which we have to import/transport few Bex queries from Production to Development environment. I understand this is not a best practice, but any one suggest the way to implement the same.
    Thanks,
    Jay

    Hi Jay,
For every transport which moves a transport route is configured in transaction STMS (Transport Management System). Ideally it is Dev --> Qal --> Prod. Usually we do not have access to this transaction as Basis Team Configures this route. Check once in transaction STMS (if you have access) that whether the route Prod --> Dev is configured or not (i doubt it would be).
In that case you can raise a request to Basis to configure this route for this exceptional case, if they agree then Transports can be moved via this new configured route.
    Regards
    Raj
