ChaRM with SLF1

Hi Guys,
Our service desk is using transaction type SLF1 where it does affect the way ChaRM works in a way. Below is my scenario:
Flow to complete a change request:
Service desk msg->Change doc->Correction doc.
As been told, since we are using SLF1, during the creation of Change doc i have to use button "New" instead of "Action" to create a Change doc(these are in the msg screen itself, CRM_DNO_MONITOR). Just because of this, it leads to NO LINKAGE(in term of reference no.) of the Service  desk msg to its subsequent docs, thats Change and Correction doc.
In term of traceability, user will face problem by searching upside down for the related docs(Msg, Change and Correction doc) that belonging to a msg/problem.
<i>Hence, need to check with you, for my case(using SLF1) is that possible to having customizing via IMG to create a Change doc via button "Action" instead of "New"?</i> Because i believe if i manage to do that, that's no more issue on the linkage.
All comments are welcome.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Raquel Cunha,
As recommended, this is what i did:
<u>Check on SLFN's action profile:</u>
Action profile is SLFN0001_ADVANCED. Thus i use TCode SPPFCADM to check the related action definition and found definition SLFN0001_ADVANCED_CREATE_CR is being used by SLFN for the "Change Request". I assume this is the option will appear on the task list(at service desk msg) because i never have a chance to look the the SLFN's screen before.
<u>Assign to SLF1's action profile:</u>
TCode SPPFCADM, SLF1's action profile SMSD_SERVICE_ORDER_DNO. Then i added in action definition with customer namspace ZSLFN0001_ADVANCED_CREATE_CR into SLF1's profile. FYI, all the setting here is same as SLFN.
Then i tried to create a new msg, and i change the msg status to "In Process". Now, i would aspect the "Change Request" option will appear on the task list button. Unfortunately, it wasn't there.
May i know what went wrong? or which part of config i did wrong or i left out.
Your expertise is highly appreciate.
Thanks in advance.

  • ChaRM with SLF1  - second part

    Hi Guys,
    This is a followup question for the previous post with subject "ChaRM with SLF1". Since my question solved for that post, thus i decided to open another here.
    As mentioned on post "ChaRM with SLF1", i want fields "Sold-To-Party", "Ibase" to be copied from Service msg to Change doc. And im able to do that with the solution given.
    But i just notice there is a field in Change Doc. named "Requestor", it should copy from Service msg's field "Key User" as well. As recommended by previous post, i went to view "SOCMC_COPY" again to look at the copy procedure. But from there i can not find any copying allowed for field "Requestor" from trans.type "SDCR".
    Pls comment on how can i achieved that.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Raquel,
    Sorry for wrong info give, actually im using SLF1. Below are the steps that i went through:
    1. SM34->SOCMC_COPY
    2. Create new entry SLF1 under Procedure type overview since it wasn't there.
    3. highlight SLF1, and double click on "Patner function mapping".
    4. Dialog box appear, SLF1 as source, SDCR as target.
    5. I create entry SMSD0002->SDCR0001 (i did tried on SLFN0002->SDCR0001).
    After the above, the requestor is not auto tag at change document.
    Pls comment which step i went wrong again.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Need help in configuring CHARM with R/3 System landscape with seven systems

    Hi All,
    we are planning to configure CHARM for our R/3 landscape.our current STMS includes seven systems.in the current STMS the transports flow as below.
                  D20->C20->C21->C22->C23->T20->P20
    we require the transports to move in the same way as stated above even after CHARM is configured
    1.please let me know if we can configure CHARM with seven systems.
    2.if yes, how would the import happen( ie Action for import appears for all systems?).
    Regards,
    Anand Reddy

    HI andy,
    the transports will move in the following order.
    D20(DEV)->C20(Consolidation)->C21(integ)->C22(reg)->C23(unit)->T20(final test)->P20(production)
    transport will start in D20,then imported C20 followed by  C21,C22,C23,T20 imports and finally reach P20
    the systems are not in parallel they are one behind the other

    but when i try to activate the charma and click on "refresh" button , it throws following error
    "Warning: Problems occurred during synchronization" ;I have checked the logs in SLG1 for object "/TMWFLOW/CMSCV" ; but
    there are no errors except warnings for BC Sets , Can you pl guide what might have gone wrong ?
    All the RFC's are working fine and there is no authorization issue in solution manager.
    Thanks
    Swati

    hi,
    for the CTS activation you must do all the below,
    1. SMSY --> landscape creation
    2. RFC Creations
    3. Client Specific TMS configuration
    4. Prj --> CTS activation.
    go through the below doc,

  • How to configure TMS for ChaRM with Customizing routes?

    Hi Experts,
    We have succesfully configured three system landscape TMS for ChaRM for several pipelines already. Now we are facing a situation where TMS is as follows:
    DEV to QAS contains routes:
    Customizing: ZEBP => 100
    Transport: ZDEV => 100
    Customizing: ZSUS => 200
    Transport: SAP => 100
    The question with these is how to add ZEBP and ZSUS to ChaRM configuration?
    QAS to PRD:
    Delivery: 200 => 200
    Delivery: 100 => 100
    Here the question is how to enable transports between 200s alongside 100?
    When looking at SMSY in SolMan, SUS is a logical system only.
    Has anyone of you come across a situation like this? I'm glad for any hints you may give me!
    Our SolMan is 4.0 SP13.
    Best Regards,
    Auli

    Hi
    in my opinion you can configure it the following way:
    Customizing: ZEBP => 100
    Transport: ZEBP => 100 (not ZDEV)
    Customizing: ZSUS => 200
    Transport: SAP => 100
    Then assign ZEBP as default transport layer for client 100 and ZSUS for client 200.
    It is not possible to configure ZEBP and ZDEV for client 100 if you want to use charm

  • Integration of ChaRM with third party tools

    Hi all,
    We are in the process of building the solution for Change Request Management implementation integrated with third party tool.
    As the normal process for ChaRM is to work with the Service Desk functionality (to raise a ticket, then support message, change request, change document etc...), but what we need is create the change request, and change document directly with ChaRM without using the Service Desk functionality.
    Did anybody come across this situation?
    Please share your experience.
    Thanks in advance.
    Balaji

    Hi Balaji,
    there is no problem, as I understand, you want to use ChaRM without Service Desk. OK, than you create directly a Change Request in CRMD_ORDER, the transaction type you have to select is SDCR (standard transaction type), you have to approve it and then you can create a change document, it is not necessary that you start with a Service Desk ticket like SLFN.
    You need configured TMS a SolMan Project with a Maintenance Cycle, thats it (but this is enough , don't forget the customizing).
    I hope I understood you correct

  • Email notification in Charm with several status changes

    Hello,
    according to OSS 1275036 I tried to implement email notification in my Charm-process using BADI  AGS_SDK_SCHED_ST_CHD in my schedule condition. If a new partner is responible in Charm-process, this partner should be notified by email. The email should be send if user status is changing.
    It still works for my change request (notification of change manager) and the first step of my change document (notification of developer). But for all following steps (e.g. notification of tester) no action for email-notification is found in my change document.
    In my actions I only use schedule conditions (according to OSS) and no start condition. To use the BADI for several user status, I maintained my user status in field value instead of inital value.
    Does anybody know, how to use this BADI for several status changes in my change document?
    Thanks,
    Laura

    Hello together,
    I solved my problem by using CRM Standardcustomizing. Forgot SAP note 1275036 and 865619. They are all bad and not sufficient for a complex Charm scenario.
    I only used note 1275036 for the first mail in my change document (email to developer). For all following mail notifcations I'm using actions based on workflow conditions instead of BADI.
    Just using normal CRM-Customizing and create one schedule and start condition for every used action.
    E.g. send mail to tester:
    schedule condition:
      &Servicevorgang CRM.Anwenderstatus&  [*] E0002+DHFHEAD
      and    &Servicevorgang CRM.ErrorFreeFlag&  = X
    start condition:
    &Servicevorgang CRM.Anwenderstatus&  [*] E0004+DHFHEAD
      and    &Servicevorgang CRM.ErrorFreeFlag&  = X
    This works perfect, because you won't get several mails for one status if you save your document more than one time, which is a problem with note 865619.

  • Using Charm with CTS+

    Hi experts,
    I would know if it's possibile configure the change request management to manage non-abap transport. I have a PI landascape (abapjava) where I configure the CTS. I would know if I can implement CHARM in my solutionmanager in order to manage the abap and non-abap transport in the PI landscape. I didn't find specific documentation in sdn or sap notes.
    Please can anyone help me?
    thanks
    giovanni

    Hi Giovanni,
    Its very much possible,
    Since you have already implemented CTS+, It should be infact easy for you to have the CHARM done with solution manager.
    What matters for chaRM is the Strategy(technniques) you need to adopt for controlling transports.
    I believe, It should be the normal configuration of ChaRM.
    Thanks,

  • ChaRM with 4 system Landscape.

    Hi,<br />
    We are trying to implement ChaRM in a four system landscape <br />
    <br />
    AFD --&gt; AFQ --&gt; AFI --&gt; AFP<br />
    <br />
    defined logical components, project, created maintenance cycle. U'gent correction works fine.<br />
    <br />
    but for regular correction, we are able to create TRs release it, but not getting imported into AFQ and of course further steps are not happening. When the status is "Development Completed", we perform "Log on to system", this pops up with a dialogue with options<br />
    <br />
    AFQ           200<br />
    AFI             100<br />
    <br />
    to logon to system.<br />
    <br />
    This is the only clue we got.   <br />
    <br />
    When we perform the actions, the status keeps changing and goes to status "Production". It doesn't obey the phases maintenance cycle as well, irrespective of the phases the status keeps changing and goes to status "Production"<br />
    We are missing some minor thin's.<br />
    <br />
    Have we defined the system roles properly? IF not, how does the flow works perfectly fine with respect to U'gent correction.<br />
    <br />
    Please help.<br />
    <br />
    <br />
    Regards,<br />
    Ragu<br />
    <br />

    Hi Ragu,
    I have a few questions here:
    1. What normal correction type are you using - SDMI or SDMJ
    2. What roles are assigned to the systems in Logical Components? I believe they are setup as Target Systems and thats why you get the pop-up with both systems when you execute 'Logon action' after 'Development Completed'
    3. What is the STMS setup for this landscape?
    4. Urgnt should behave properly coz it takes the shortest route to production. Can you check the tasklist of Urgnt and see if there are only 3 systems there?

  • CHARM with  a 2 system landscape

    Hello ,
    we have only a 2 system landscape for our ERP systems.
    When I now click on the check button on the maintainance project. I receive an error :
    No consolidation system found for DEV-001 (project TEST_CHARM)
    No track for project TEST_CHARM with log. system P23/001
    Message from function module /TMWFLOW/CHECK_PRJ_CONS: No export system for DEV-001
    TMS ( without any client  routes)
    DEV->PROD
    Any suggestions ?
    Regards

    Hi Daniel,
    we are using CHaRM in various transport landscapes with 2 and up to 5 systems. This is all working fine. Please make sure there is a consolidation transport route from DEV, also all RFC connections from Solution Manager to your Transport Landscape are set up, inlcuding 000 clients.
    TMS settings need CTC=1, and Trusted Services in STMS need to be activated.
    Other prerequsites are:
    - Systems are deined in SMSY
    - Transport Domain link between Transport domain controllers
    - Logical components defined in SMSY (with correct system roles)
    - Lofical component added to SMI project
    If this is all fine, please hit button "Shipment Routes" in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN in tab page "System Landscape" => "Systems" You should see all transport routes required for this project.
    If this works, you are in a good shape.
    Best Regards,

  • ChaRM with several transport layers/routes

    Hi!
    We have a very comprehensive transport landscape where more than one transport layer is necessary.
    The reasons therefore:
    we implement none-SAP software and need an extra transport layer therefore
    the developers still need an extra transport layer because of they assigned them their packages
    Currently we have one and the same client in DEV system where all the transport layers reside.
    Now we are thinking to implement ChaRM for all the transport layers.
    1) Approach of splitting transport layers and working with different DEV clients
    We split the transport layer and assign them the different standard layer
    transport layer ZDV1: client 100
    transport layer ZDV2: client 200
    transport layer ZDV3: client 300
    Question:
    Is that possible to have here one maintenance project with more that one DEV system
    (DEV:100, DEV:200 and DEV:300)?
    Any helpful information will be very appreciated.
    Thom

    Hi Thom..
    transport layer ZDV1: client 100
    transport layer ZDV2: client 200
    transport layer ZDV3: client 300
    Why you have 3 Transports Layer???...
    if you have
    DEV100                QAS100    PRD100
    DEV200
    DEV300
    Usually you have only 1 Layer from DEV100 to QAS100 (Consolidation Type)
    To move from DEV100 to DEV200/300 use SCC1
    IF you have
    DEV100     -
    > QAS100   -
    >   PRD100
    DEV200                QAS200
    DEV300
    You create 1 transport group
    DEV100 -
    > QAS100 ---> PRD100
                     |-->QAS200
    Thanks

  • Using ChaRm with 2 Development (source) systems

    Good Day;
    Before I get into the full description of an issue we are facing. I would like to know if anyone out there is using ChaRM and has 2 development systems defined.
    Regards
    Don

    Thanks Avinash
    This is the problem I am having
    We have 2 landscapes each with a development and quality system. Also there is a single volume test system. Both landscapes point to a single production system. So it would look like this
    DW3           DW4
    QW1           QW2
               VW1
                PW1
    The DW3 landscape is defined as the production landscape (normal releases) and the DW4 landscape is defined as the emergency landscape. The emergency landscape is synchronized with the production landscape during a normal release.
    The migration path for a normal release would be DW3, QW1, VW4, (now synchronizing) DW4, QW2, PW1.
    The migration path for an emergency fix would be DW4, QW2, VW4 (if performance testing is required), PW1.
    All these systems are defined in the ChaRM landscape
    When a task list is generated, you are asked which development system, DW3 or DW4. When the task list is generated, it starts at DW4, QW2, PW1, DW3, QW1, PW1 (We have not defined a volume VW4 system in or test landscape).
    As well when a creating a transport, and DW3 is selected, ChaRm generates an error stating the task list is out of sequence,
    You will notice that the task list goes to PW1 twice. Is there a way to generate the task list in the correct order. DW3, QW1, DW4, QW2 and PW1.

  • Does anybody use ChaRM with their BW system?

    We are looking to implement Charm for our BW system and I am looking for somebody that has experience with this. For example if you extract a new field from your ECC system and transport it via Charm, does the system recognize that this transport needs to finish generating the data in BW before it moves the next transport in line? Or do you have to manually import these transports into BW?

    Horst,
    We already have Charm for ECC, CRM, SCM, Portal and the setup is not really a problem. The issue I have around BW is really a different one. Today, without Charm, we have the issue that the transports are not going in in the sequence that they are released (the BW manager gives us the sequence he wants them to be moved) and that in between transports we have to wait until the generation of data in BW is done, before the next transport can move. This takes a lot of time and as this needs to be done in off hours it keeps a person busy on the weekend, which ideally I want to avoid going forward as we are not staffed for that.
    So my question is if we are doing something wrong in general around the transports we do for BW (so that we have to wait and change transport sequences and do stuff manually) and if Charm is only going to make it worse....
    Looking for tips and tricks on how we can get this to go automated... . How can we get this to improve?
    Can you give me a few details on how your transports are going through for BW and if you encounter any of the above problems or how you might have resolved them?
    Thanks for your reply and thoughts on this

  • ChaRM with several transport layers

    Hi!
    We would like to use Solman ChaRM approach.
    According to SPRO-documentation ChaRM only supports consolidation routes from standard transport layer.
    We have besides the standard transport layer other transport layer and have the following question
    1)What will happen when the developer try to change and import into QAS system object assigning to none-standard transport layer?
    1a) ChaRM does not allow to change this object and the appropriate pop up window comes up
    1b) ChaRM integrate this transport layer as standard transport layer
    Any helpful information will be very appreciated
    Thank you very much!
    regards
    Thom

    Hello Thom,
    I think, your question is almost independent from CHaRM. This is handled by the transport management system (TMS). If your developer changes the object assignment to a transport layer, and there is a transport track for this layer to the (same) QAS it should work. But if this QAS is not configured in CHaRM as a target system (in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN), SolMan will probably raise an error message.
    Also if the transport layer assignment / dev package not valid for this transport track, you will not able to release the transport -> SolMan is just using TMS mechanism and this will bring up an error message in CRMD_ORDER.
    Unfortunately you can't see the transport logs in CRMD_ORDER directly, so the answer to 1a) is: In case of trouble releasing the transport you will get an error, but not the full error message.
    1b) ChaRM cannot change a transport layer to a standard transport layer, this must be done using STMS on the transport daimn controller.
    Regards,
    Holger

  • ChaRM with 2 tiers only?

    Can ChaRM be configured if i only have a dev & qa system?  Or do i need to set it up as dev & prod?  I seem to be getting an error about no where for my qa system to export to in the logical component.
    Is there any way to support this?
    Thanks in advance
    Margo

    Hi Margo,
    You need a production box. If you are just testing your ChaRM configuration, create three dummy Solution Manager boxes and add them to the system landscape.

    Jason
