Chart Documentation

1. FYI to MSFT Project Siena team - "Chart" is not documented under "Visual Reference"
2. Struggling a bit to make a bar chart...some clear guidance would be much appreciated.
Have 2 Collections with data as follows:
Base_Risk_Percent
Year4Risk - .20
Year2Risk - .12
Year1Risk - .06
Optimal_Risk_Percent
Year4Risk - .09
Year2Risk - .01
Year1Risk - .004
My simple questions:
How do I add this data to produce a bar chart with the 2 series next to each other? Or do I need to have my collections done differently?
How do I select Labels for this data?
How do I produce a Legend?
Many thanks in advance.
Shawn

Hi Shawn,
For your scenario, lets assume your collection is called Risk. you would set up your collection data set as follows with the following three columns:
{"Year", "Risk_Base", "Risk_Optimal"}
You can then proceed to add a column chart, called Chat1. Once this is done, set the 'Items'
property of Chart1 to Risk. As it pertains to the number of series, you will need to click on the
'Design' group, then 'Chart' and finally set the
'Number of Series' property to 2.
With this setup, if you are curious about what the selected label is, you can drop a label control called
Label1 for example and set its 'Text' property to ColumnChart1!Selected!Label or ColumnChart1!Selected!Year etc.
For a Legend, you could experiment with a rectangle control that has its
'Fill' property set to the color of the series and sit this next to a label with its
'Text' property set to the name of the series.
To see some other ways you can leverage the Charts feature set of Siena, please take a look at our
Interactive Charts video, that provides some more insight. Hope this helps get you moving along.
Many thanks for the feedback in general. We will continue to release updates across the board so please stay tuned.

Try working through TS1717: iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues to start with.
Otherwise, for general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Various "boot cdrom" parameters

    Hi,
I've stumbled onto some weird problem that required to try to boot the Install CD with "boot cdrom -w" at the OBP. It had been suggested by some senior consultant here, and well, it worked.
I went to Google my way thru those options I hadn't met before without any success.
Is there some chart / documentation where I could find all the various arguments I can pass to boot cdrom ? For instance I couldn't not find any references to "boot cdrom -w" anywhere.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
What's system configuration at your end? Just check you have enough disk space. You may refer Solaris8 system installation guide on http://docs.sun.com. If you are installing End User Solaris cluster, then recommended disk space required is around 1.4gb. The potential reason for system hang which is observed is may be due to resource crunch.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks,

  • Thorough Chart Designer documentation available? (and/or a question answered)

Today I found out about Chart Designer from Ray Camden's web site. I'm trying to get myself up to speed quickly for a project I'm trying to complete and I'm looking for any more thorough documentation than is found through the PDF that is available with the CF Server install or the WebChart web site.
I have an existing chart being generated via CF and want to know if I can access and modify it through Chart Designer or do I have to start from scratch.
    Thanks!

WebCharts3D is the other name used for the application I'm wondering about.
    Thanks again...

  • Open a pop-up from a chart

    Hi,
    I am trying to open a pop-up window from a chart (bar graph: user clicks on bar/column and pop-up opens). I can open another page using a url ('f?p=100:200:...::::' etc) as described in documentation / how-to pages;
    select
    'f?p=100:200: ...' link,
    a label,
    b value
    from my_table
However is it possible to pop-up the page in a separate window ?
Thanks for all and any help!
    sinclair

You could use Apex's built in javascript popUp function:
    select
    ('javascript:popUp2("f?p=100:200: ...");') link,
    a label,
    b value
    from my_table
You can pass two futher optional parameters to popUp2 if you want - width and height of window that pops up e.g. popUp2('f?p=100:200',300,400)

  • Custom Formatting Of Chart Legends

I've been playing with Flex Charting, and I have lots of nice
looking graphs that I've created from database feeds. However, what
I really want to know how to do is format the chart legend better.
For example I have a pie chart that has about 50 different data
items/series and the legend is huge in either horizontal or
vertical mode it prints all the way down the page. How can I make
it two, three or more columns?

    Hi Justin,
I think, there is no way to do such a customization with the standard Javadoc (i.e. powered by the Standard Doclet).
After all, the job of the standard Javadoc is doing standard (general) things and I just cannot imagine any general rule (setting or option) that would embrace all kinds of possible customizations about displaying of annotations.
So, the only way in your situation would be to modify the doclet itself. You can try tweaking the standard doclet: overload some its classes or change sources (according to the license they provide). However, I just can say, that way proved to have lots of limitations.
Fortunately, I could suggest you a different rote that would allow you solving your problem in a few minutes. We have a product called "DocFlex/Javadoc":
    http://www.filigris.com/products/docflex_javadoc/
This is a highly customizable Javadoc doclet. More exactly, this is a system for rapid development of professional quality doclets (with the support of both framed/single-file HTML and RTF output).
With that tool, the generation of every sort of Javadoc output is programmed in special templates (using graphic Template Designer). The product is provided with the "standard template set" that generates the HTML Java API documentation very similar to the standard Javadoc.
In fact, to solve you task, you will need to modify a subtemplate called "annotations.tpl". See on this page: http://www.filigris.com/products/docflex_javadoc/templates.php
If you are interested about all this, we could help you to modify the necessary template absolutely free. Then, you will need only to buy a full product license to have everything work without limitations and that will be all!
So, if you are interested, please let us know by sending a e-mail to the address found on this page:

  • Chart in Interactive Report always returns IO Error

    Hi everyone,
Recently our company has a web application project that utilizes APEX and its powerful Interactive Report.
However, everytime when we try to generate a chart based on the IR (by going to the "cog" and pick "chart"), we will get this "IO Error".
For the last couple of days I have been researching on the net for solutions but still no luck on how to fix this problem.
I have used Firefox to check into the source code of the page.
To my surprise is that calling just the chart component is fine (the swf file does load up and wait for data), and so is calling that lengthy "...apex_util.flash2?..." xml-file under the variable "FlashVar" (an xml file is returned correctly).
But when the chart is called in the IR it just keeps displaying "IO Error".
This web app is hosted behind a reverse proxy server. Moreover, upon testing it is confirmed that the chart will be able to generate if the IP of the server is used to access the app... but not with the proxy domain name.
Using the plain server IP is not an option as this IP cannot be accessed from outside of the company; all traffic is routed via the domain proxy server.
It seems as is the proxy server is doing something in the middle, but I can't seem to find any information regarding conflicts between proxy server and anychart anywhere on the net.
I did find some information about Flash and crossdomain data access, and had created the "crossdomain.xml" file under the root directory of the data server as instructed from Anychart documentation and Adobe Flash Support TechNote (http://www.anychart.com/products/anychart/docs/users-guide/security-error.html and http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14213.html).
However it still does not solve the IO Error problem.
Please help! My team do have a demo approaching next week.
    Sincerely,
    Nelson

  • How not to see values of a serie in a 2D line chart

    Hello,
I have 3 series in a 2d line chart. There are two series which are the thresholds and one serie for the averages. Thresholds are fix/stable numbers which correspond to straight lines, however the averages as you can image dynamic and changing. What I want is to see the values of averages but not the values of the straight lines. I cannot find a spesific option for the series, I can always show/hide values which does not work for me.
    Thank you from now.

    Hi mertov,
You can find anychart's documentation in their website. The document that shows and explains all the XML tags anychart uses is the XML reference.
