Chart #HOST# issue

Here's one I just came across. I developed a system that is using an internal server. It can be accessed from an external website in order to run it in user mode. The problem is that when the charts are being called through the external website, it is trying to use the IP Address of the internal server along with the port number for the #HOST# valuse instead of using the external link (like everything else appears to do.) I have created a "work-around" for the time being in which I replaced the #HOST# values with &HOST_URL. and setup a substitution string that has the external link setup in it. Now it works externally, but not internally.
Is there anyway to have the system use the external link for the #HOST# and the IP Address if it is internal? I'm pretty sure that the whole thing is supposed to be automatic, but since it seems pretty consistent that the charts are failing, I want to make sure that I fix the problem in the best manner possible. FMS Audio (MP3) Glitches - Hosting Issue or Not

I've got several webinars that an associate of mine helped me
build several years ago in Flash MX 2004. They are about 40 minutes
long, but have been broken into about 8 chapters (seperate .swf
files). The .swf files connect to audio (mp3) streams running off
of an external hosted FMS server via RTMP. We are using the older
MediaDisplay and MediaPlayback components from MX 2004 to play the
audio while the screens within Flash are setup with cuepoints to
sync to the audio.
This has worked for years, except the problem is that the
chapters do not always seem to make the connection to the external
FMS audio. Sometimes simply pressing the pause button on and off
will get it to play. Other times you have to refresh the screen. I
can't figure out if this is a hosting issue or not. We have tried a
few different FMS hosts at this point at about the $100/month
plans, but keep having the same problems.
What can we do to eliminate (or diminish) these connection
problems? We really don't want to redevelop these at this point in
time, so if there is anything we can do to modify what we have or
our hosting, that would be helpful.

It sounds like the swf doesn't handle onSync correctly. I
would suggest logging the connection event, stream events, etc to
gain more insight into the problem (both client side logging and
server side).

Constant Resolving Host Issues

I have had a good service until recently but now Constant Resolving Host Issues. Pages slow to load making it difficult to use.
HH3 Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.94.1.37 (Type A)
I have factory reset hub and tried opendns and Google DNS.
Can anyone help?

So, last night I spent an insane amount of time trying to figure out why my podcast wasn't working on my website. I host my domain with godaddy.com and I just knew it was a hosting issue, not a iWeb or .m4a issue. Sure enough, I was on a Windows webserver and as soon as I requested to be put on a Linux server, my Podcast was playing properly on both my website and iTunes. I saw many people on the board with the same problem and I'm here to tell you, SWITCH TO A LINUX WEB SERVER! =) Later!

i was able to change it through my control panel on my host's website. i think windows web server runs on IIS or something lame like that and linux, well, not sure what runs on that...maybe apache? anyway, thank God for being able to switch on the fly. what a nightmare.

Line Chart report issue in BAM

Hi,
I have a view from my database on Daily Sales.
I tried to make a line chart report.I had the data object & plan created and run.
I am facing some issues while making out:
1)In Line chart it looks like "Summary Function" in chart is must.
2)All the data values are overlapping on axis lines as well as chart area.
Dont know how to get rid of this Summary function etc, i want lines to be drawn s per the records in the view.

Use count as summery function, count the unique value in your record

I have a chart that displays its data correctly 11 out of 12 times...and I can't seem to get the last one to work correctly. Here's the issue:
I have a table of data that looks like this:
REGION                                   GAIN                           LOSS                      NET

I have a "Data Display" area that has the following formulas in it:
CRITERIA                                   GAIN                           LOSS                    NET
[USER INPUT]                           =VLOOKUP([USER INPUT],[TABLE ABOVE],0,[2,3,4 FOR EACH COLUMN])
If the user enters 'REGION 1', 'REGION 2', 'REGION 4, or 'REGION 4', the data is displayed in the column chart perfectly. However, if the user selects 'ALL', the process doesn't work and displays 0s in each of the columns above.
Does any one have any ideas on how to fix that issue or what could be causing it in the first place? I just noticed that the same thing occurs if I use a Grid component as well...even though Excel is processing the data accurately.

Hi,
Without trying out your actual data, the first thing that comes to mind is that you aren't using all the options in VLOOKUP. I've discovered that Xcelsius requires all arguments even optional ones in many formulas but this isn't document). The last argument is TRUE (default) for the closest match, and FALSE for exact match. If the user can only enter from a set of values which are known to be in your lookup table, then either one will work but you should still specify this last argument.

Can't publish draft, are there known server/hoster issues?

I'm using ICE for a site I created, but every time I try to publish my draft, it keeps telling me there's a new version of the page and that it has to reload it.
I'm the only one working on the site as it is still in testing fase, so nobody else can make changes to it but me.
If I try to publish the draft after I reload, I get the same message over and over again...
Are there known issues with hosters or types of servers where ICE doesn't work? I'm using Servage hosting in Europe at the moment.
A while ago I had the same problem with another site, when I changed servers, to one that wasn't hosted by Servage, everything worked much better. Still not in the way I was hoping for, but much better. Fortunately this was a site that didn't have to go online, it was just to demonstrate ICE on a convention in Holland.
I hope somebody has an answer, because I really want to use ICE on this site I'm making now. This site has to go online eventually.

I also have the same problem if I want to edit the pages. It keeps telling me there's a new version of the page and that it needs to reload. Does anybody else have the same problem. Maybe one time in 50 times it goes to edit mode and 1 time in a 100 it publishes the draft. This doesnt make me very happy:-(

WebI Horizontal stacked chart formatting issue

I have created a stack chart report and I have labels defined in the X - axis. We have the issue with the gap between the X - axis line and the labels. We would like to know if we can reduce this gap between the axis line and the labels. I have attached the sample image below for your reference.

Not really. I need to have stacked bars grouped. For example, assume you had survey results. For question 1, you had a bar with 20 disagrees, 5 neutrals, and 50 agrees. For question 2, a bar with 10 disagrees, 2 neutrals and 30 agrees, and so on for say 10 questions. This would be your stacked bar chart. Now, say you had information spanning a number of years, 2008, 2009, 2010. What I want is a group of stacked bars (3 one for each year) for Q1, then 3 more stacked bars for Q2 and so on.
This is a combination of the grouped and the stacked bar charts.

MTA - CNMT Chart display issue

hi All,
I am having issue displaying all the 'Milestones' associated to a Network in CNMT.
Milestones created are checked with 'Trend Analysis' checkbox in 'Milestone - Basic Data' tab.
The activities are 100% confirmed and the Actual date of the activity is copied over to 'Actual date' field for the Milestone.
I checked the graph axis to display the 'Date range' which falls within the 'Actual Dates' of Milestones. It is showing only 'One' milestone, but not others (there are 2 more milestones which fall in the same date range and the activity is 100% confirmed).
Please suggest if I am missing something here.

Yes, I did create a new project version and Saved it Via CN41. The Data has been refreshed via Edit -> Scope of current data -> All fields in CN41. The chart is still showing only 'ONE' milestone.
Ex: The milestone currently being displayed in the chart is related to an activity which was confirmed on 26 Dec 2011. There are two more milestones related to two different activities which were confirmed on 30 Dec 2011, 10 Jan 2012. These are missing from the chart display.
Moreover, the system displays the following message:
Diagnosis
You have restricted the number of milestones to be displayed by using operative milestone data.
Procedure
To display all the milestones for the project, choose View -> Historical milestones.
SAP Library states:
Historical curve:
This standard view displays those milestones that have the MTA indicator set at the time of the current report.
These milestones are displayed across the entire reporting period, also when the indicator was not set for them at an earlier reporting time.
The Historical Curve is what I am assuming is needed to display all the Milestones on a particular reporting date. I checked in CNMT -> View -> Choose Dates, which shows the Milestones & Reporting times. I guess I am missing something else.
Please advise.

Chart Design issue

how could this be done (materials have to be in series) in Bex or WAD

Hi Realist,
You can create in both Bex and WAD
In Bex tool bar you have an option called Layout --> in that go to Attach Chart --> and then right click on chart you will see
1.Chart Type --> You can pic different types of charts
2.Source Data --> Here you can select Series and Add materials & remove other Key Figs
3.Chart options --> gives you to customise the chart design by naming X and Y axis
In WAD
Go to Tools --> Wizard --> click Next --> select Chart --> Add your Query in Query View --> and go ahead with designing..
If you want to see your chart in web or Portal then WAD will be the Better option

Chart setup issue

I have to make a chart that will show sales for item types for months as follows. The vertical will be some financial levels, that are hard coded.

$10,000
$1000
Total Apples Total Oranges Total Bannanas

The total figures I have - I am not sure how to setup the amounts for the left side. The issue for me, it appears that the Chart only allows a break on a Group header field. I will need a break after showing March 08 and March 09, etc.
The problem I am having is that the chart expert only shows one field for me to break on - the Customer name field. I need to break on month fields really. It also only allows one field across, not sure why it doesn't let you pick the fields you need.
Would this work, if I setup a Subprogram with different groupings as needed just for the chart purpose?

If you already have a month field then in Chart Expert go to Advanced and select the {month.field} on change of. This will break by month.
If you don't have a month field, then create a formula called @Month and code this:
month({date.field})
Follow the same steps as above for the on change of instructions.

OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0 Patch13832750 - Pie Chart 3D issue

Hi,
Since i apply the patch 13832750 I have an issue with 3D Pie chart.
The chart is malformed, there are lines which fall outside the graph..
I uninstalled the patch but the issue persists.
Have you already see this problem?

Haven't seen this issue, but I may be able to help with two suggestions:
1. NEVER use pie charts, they don't display information well
2. Never add 3d clutter to any type of chart, it only makes the chart more difficult to process and understand

X200: 64-bit Linux guest on 32-bit Windows XP host issues

I'm encountering an issue when trying to run a 64-bit Debian distribution (using VMWare ACE) on a 32-bit Windows XP SP3 Pro installation. In short, upon launching the VM I receive an error message stating "Your CPU does not support long mode. Use a 32bit distribution". I have verified that the Intel VT settings are enabled in the BIOS (ver. 2.02), and have updated to the most recent chipset driver version; no luck.
I was initially encountering the same issue on a T500, but that was subsequently resolved by a BIOS update (to ver. 1.20). Has anyone else run into this issue with the X200? Does anyone know if Lenovo is aware of this problem? I called Lenovo support but was told they could not help me with this problem. I asked if I could escalate this to an engineer and was also told "no" to that.

Thanks for your response but no, the issue isn't due to the host OS as this works fine on the T61 and T500 series of laptops. Actually, I initally had the same issue with the T500, but it was resolved by a BIOS update. My belief is that there is a problem with the way Lenovo has implemented Intel's VT support in the X200 BIOS (Intel VT is the technology that allows you to run a 64-bit guest in a 32-bit host).

Org Chart Search issue in Employee Listing in VSN30SP2

Hi,
Everything works fine in Org Chart in Nakisa OrgChart VSN30SP2.
But unfortunately when we searched an employee in employee listing we found it was not showing up.We used the search criteria Person Name Contains xxxxx.
In Search criteria when we entered say James it showed up all the employee who has the first name as James except one employee (The missing employee also has the first name as James).
Also without search criteria (unchecked on Start Directory Empty in Org Chart Employee Listing configuration) it is not showing only that employee.Also authorization is fine for that employee.
Can you please help on this issue.
