Chart - variable value axis interval

Hi,
I have a line chart and I would like to customize the value axis (y-axis) like this: I have 6 values available: green start (GS), green end (GE), yellow start (YS), yellow end (YE), red start (RS), red end (RE), where GE=YS and YE=RS; I want to have GS as
the miminum value, RE as the maximum value, and 3 intervals, which will be: RE-RS, YE-YS, GE-GS. Is there any way to do this?

Based on your description, you want to customize value axis in line chart. The value axis is related to fields in Values dialog box. It is not support use expression to customize value axis label. It just can configure the minimum and maximum values of the
value axis.
In order to meet your requirement, we can enable Minor Tick Marks in the line chart to work around the issue. Major Tick Marks to display these RE, RS, YE, YS, GE, GS range values. Minor Tick Marks display the interval of these color values.

Can't remove decimals from chart value axis

After several hours trying to create a simple bar graph in Pages and the same in Numbers (iWork '08) for a class assignment, I am at a loss. To any kind soul who can help, I will be very grateful.
Here is the dilemma.
In Numbers as well as trying this in Pages '08, I selected a blank document, clicked on the Chart icon, and in the Chart Data Editor I entered titles for 2 rows, and title for 3 columns along with their values. Then in the Chart Inspector I entered the following values under Value Axis Format: minimum= 3, Maximum= 26, and Steps=9.
I Need to have along the y-axis (the left column, from bottom to top) the numbers starting from 3 up to 26, in increments of 3, i.e. 3-6-9-12-15-18-21-24 and at the top 26.
I have the correct sets of columns which is: 3 sets of bar graphs (2 bars side-by-side, 3 sets).
The problem I have is that I NEED the left column of numbers, my y-axis, to be whole numbers. But Pages keeps converting them into whole numbers with 3 decimal places to the right. How can I fix this? I also keep running into a problem when entering values in Minimum-Maximum-Steps, in which I'll put 26 or 27 as a Maximum, 3 in Steps, and the Max changes to something like 96. This happens a lot, although the number changes to different values than what I enter. My Chart is a standard chart, not a stacked chart. I've tried searching and find no answers to this. And I do need the step increments to be exactly as I stated. There must be a way. I tried it in Excel 2002, and was able to do the entire chart in about 5 minutes. Numbers must be able to do this, I'm not even using calculations or formulas.
I would insert a picture of the way the chart needs to look here, but I don't know how to do that in Posting this question.

It would be useful to give us the used values so we may give you a response.
I made a test with this setting:
Minimum 5.0
Maximum 9.5
Steps 5
and I got: 5.0, 5.9, 6.8, 7.7, 8.6, 9.5
which is perfectly correct.
It's our duty to check that ((Maximum - Minimum) / Steps) * 10 is an integer.

Value axis in WAD Chart

Hello Experts
I am using a Chart web-item in a WAD web template. Now I have set up the value axis and the sample data property of the chart with a minimum value = -500 and max value = 3000. However, when I execute the web template on the portal the value axis show a strange behaviour with a max value = 0 and min value = -250000.
Has any one encountered a similar problem?

change the Format property of the ValueAxis-Line to 0.00
Then the axis displays its values including two digits after the decimal.

Display interval variables value in BeX

Hello Gurus,
I am using Bex BI 7.0 to build my reports. I can't see how to display the value of variable values I have selected in the beginning of the query.
To clarify with an example I want to choose the period from January to March and to display this selection in the report I have built.
The only way I was thinking about was to create a Text variable to display in the title of the query but I noticed it displays only single value and don't manage interval like these.
Is there any other tricks?

Very good Jaya. I have solved my problem and I rewarded it. The only problem that still remains with this feature is that in a query I use a filtered key figure to obtain cumulated value for period. The "from period" is fixed (january) and the "to period" is given by my period variable.
I noticed that in this case the text variable return me no value. Is there any another trick to manage text variable in filtered key figure like that?

Limit range of chart value axis

I'm sure this is blindingly obvious, but I can't figure it out. I have a simple line chart (graphing dollar values), and I want to limit the range of the value axis. Specifically, I want to raise the minimum value displayed to somewhere near the smallest data value, so that my curve isn't flat across the top of the graph. If I enter a number into the Minimum field under Value Axis Format in the Inspector, the vertical axis labels all collapse to the bottom of the chart.
I can't imagine that what I'm trying to do is at all uncommon - how could it possibly be this hard?

Well, I have to say that what you show is exactly as you described. I've never seen that and have no idea what might cause it. I can only offer a few bits of general advice. Run software update and make sure you have the latest update for Numbers 08, Restart your computer, try to duplicate the problem in an fresh Numbers document. If a fresh document works properly, copy your content over, keeping track of your additions so you can try to identify the content that causes the problem should it reappear.

Report Report Interface Variable Values Transport

Hi,
I'm trying to use the report report interface for passing variable values.
How can I pass variable values of the sender query into the reciever report?
An example:
- I've used the 0CALYEAR time characteristic infoobject with a suitable input variable in the sender query.
- The sender query is used in the report (web template)
for a chart in away that the x axis peresenting the years (is the 0CALYEAR).
- I'm trying to pass the mentioned variable input - and no the selected year from the chart (by generically), into the reciever report queries which contained the 0CALYEAR infoobject.

Variable X axis?

Hi,
I have seen dashboards with variable Y axis for graphics (line chart etc), but I was wondering whether or not something similar could be achieved for X axis graphs? I want to dynamically ajust the x axis for input but can't see how this can be done?

Also the X axis can be dynamic. YOu can select a wider range for your category labels and the values and then in the Behaviour tab you can choose to ignore blank cells.

Problem to transfer Variable value to Dashboard A to Dashboard B

But at this condition,The variables of Dashboard B are not bound to any cell because they will be set at run time with values passed in the URL.
My question is can I get the Variable value from the URL in the Xcelsius Designer and put it into a specified cell and link this cell with the query,so that even jump to Dashboard B I can still change the variable values.

Let me explain the issue in detail.
In Query Designer, both the year and month variables are defined by user exit function to read current year and month and can be modified during the query runtime.
In WAD, Query1 is used to be a table with a table interface to hyperlink a chart which is defined by Query2 with the same variable value of Query1.
During the runtime of template, if I change the variable value of Query1 , I want the variable of Query2 to be changed automatically with the same new value.
So in the table interface of Query1 , I write the ABAP code in "SE24" and related source code to the variable is following:

How to save particular variable values for all users

Hi Experts,
I have variables posting period with user entry default value and fiscal year(with entry vulaue mandataory)in 30 queries.Now user wants to set this values i.e.posting period to 0 -16 (interval) and fiscal year to 2008.
whoever opnes the workbook he should get the the defualt values as posting period 0-16 and fiscal
2008 in variable selection screen.unless user enters the values it should remain same Please suggest me how to do that.Is this changes should be saved as vaintat in variable selection screen and transported or shall I do this change for all thse quesries or shall I change the variable value to default setting in variable propeties so that changes should be visible to all 30 queries .Please suggest....!!!!

Just go to that variables in query designer, and give the default values for the variables as 0-16 and for Fiscal year 2008.

Chart options: Y axis scale

Hi,
I created a bar chart for a report that simly displays the count for each distinct value of a field. I would want the Y scale (which displays the count) to only present integer values (its a count, so it's obvious there can't be any non-integer values). Currently it's set to auto select the range and the number of divisions, for which the range it's ok but the divisions don't always come out as all integers. From what I can see, the only way to do this would be to set the min to 0, max to the max count on the report (which is normaly what the auto range does), and the number of divisions as the max count minus one. I don't really see any other way. Apparently there's no way to do this dynamically (like in a formula), and I don't think I can use static range values. Is there any way to do this? I just want to confirm what I know and see if there is any other way to do it.
Also, this is probably not the forum to post this, but just in case, is there any way to do this programatically in code without needing extra libraries or extra tools?

First of all, by static and dynamic data, do you mean the options for the chart?
Also, I don't want to display the max count on the chart. I would just like to use it on the options for the chart's Y axis as the max value, although I don't think I need to, since the auto scale already does that. I think the only thing I should need is set the number of divisions to display on the Y axis. For example, if the chart has two bars, one for lets say color red, and one for color yellow, and lets say on the data there were 4 red and 6 yellow. So the chart will have two vertical bars, one for red going from 0 up to 4, and one for yellow, going from 0 up to 6. The chart will automatically make the range on the Y scale go from 0 up to 6, but it might make the divisions at say 1.5, 3, and 4.5. But I would like it to not use decimal values for those divisions, instead only divide the axis on integer values, like on 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. To do that, from the options the chart gives me, I can do it by setting a specific number of divisions on the axis (in this case it would be 5 divisions). I just want to know if there is any way I can set that in a formula or something, of if it just has to be the same value for every report (without having to change it directly on the Crystal Reports editor, because the reports get generated automatically with different sets of data).

We are facing issue with opening a web link with passing a variable value as query string parameter. We have added a form button on the pdf page, on click of it we have opened a web page and we want to pass a variable value in the query string. We can not give the hard code value in querystring, as the value keeps on changing.
Please refer to the images below.
here the data will be my variable name, which contains some value. When i execute it, it passes data as a string, i want to pass its value in the query string parameter. How i can do this?
I had found one more way, is to call a function on the form button click, and in that pass the query string parameter as a variable, it works. But the problem in this case i am faceing is, in the app.launchURL command i have to provide a http path, means something like http://www.google.com, then only it works. I have that page on my local (no server), so i want to add the path as onlu page.html

Thank you for the response. This process that we are looking to do is necessary. We have 400+ OLD PDF forms that currently are printed by our print shop and then manually filled out and scanned into our system. The current process requires a clinician to log into our scanning system, identify a patient chart, and then identify the type of report they are scanning in. This process is time consuming with possibility of errors (wrong chart selected, wrong form, etc.). Plus, we have to stock up to 400 forms at each location.
We don’t have the funds to convert 400+ complex forms into electronic submissions where the form fields are discrete and file accordingly. So, what we have come up with to save costs of a new system and reduce potential errors is to add a barcode to each existing form.
Basically, each form will get a barcode and a javascript function in the onload event to process and parse passed in link parameters.
So when a clinician clicks on a form link in our EMR system the form will load passing in the patient acct. number and form name into the link parameters (all on our local intranet) so it will get embedded into the barcode on the form. They will then print the form fill out the data (or have the patient fill it out) and then drop it in the scanner. Our scanning system will automatically see the barcode and file the form under the correct patient and form folder based on the barcode info. (A scanned image of the form will save to the patient profile).
Ultimately we would like to convert all of these forms to electronic signature/submission but we do not have the funds or the time to do this.

Same BI query multiple times, different variable values ...

Hi all, Im having a problem executing a BI query multiple times, passing different parameters. What I did is drag & drop the query multiple times (from the "Find Data" section) and pass different variable values from the signal-in of the nested iview that contains all of them, everyone has its own chart view. The problem is, only the first occurrence of the query is showing (only the first chart). I dont know if there is a restriction, or if I am missing something.

Transfer variable values via ABAP betweenn planning areas

Hello,
I'm using an ABAP-coding (BPS How-To 'variables type user-exit) for transferring variable values between planning areas. It works fine for single-, multi- and interval-selection, but not for single hierarchie nodes.
I don't want to transfer the values beneath the nodes but the node itself. Has anyone experience with that or changed the ABAP-Coding.
Note, I'm using a variable type hierarchie as destination and get always a dump, when the ABAP is executed.
