Check a file is zip

whats a good method of checking the file is a zip file, apart from checking the location
checking the mime type didn't work as it gave application/octect (as did word docs)
I need to make sure file type is zip, before I do anything with it there are many good java resources for zip, but cant find a good file type check.

heres my mime method that didn't work: (or showed there was not a difference between mime types for zip files and word files)
private void listAllzipfiles(String folderlocation){
    File folder = new File(folderlocation);
    File[] listOfFiles = folder.listFiles();
    for (int i = 0; i < listOfFiles.length; i++) {
         if (listOfFiles.isFile()) {
File file = new File(listOfFiles[i].getName());
          System.out.println("File " + listOfFiles[i].getName());
String MimeTypeOfFile = new MimetypesFileTypeMap().getContentType(file);
System.out.println("Type " + MimeTypeOfFile);
} else if (listOfFiles[i].isDirectory()) {
System.out.println("Directory " + listOfFiles[i].getName());
}* location above should say extension

  • Add .txt files into .zip file

    Hello friends,
    Any buddy knows how to add ".txt" files into ".zip" format through the ABAP code.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Murali,
    You can use the method in the class CL_ABAP_GZIP to zip your file and then download it using GUI_DOWNLOAD.
    data: zip type ref to cl_abap_zip,
          result type xstring.
    create object zip.
    zip->add( name = some_file content = content ).
    result = zip->save( ).
    Also you can check this thread as well.

  • Java.util.zip.ZipFile.entries() shows only 99 files but zip file is fine.

    Hi,
    I have a wierd issue with java.util.zip.ZipFile
    Code as simple as
    ZipFile file = new ZipFile("my.zip") ;
    System.out.println(file.size());
    For this particular zip file, it says 99 files found but the zip contains more than 60,000 files. I tried the zip with unzip and zip utilities and the zip file checks out fine. I even tried to unzip the contents, and zip 'em up all over again, just to eliminate the chances of corruption while the zip was being transferred over the network.
    The same program works fine with another zip containing more or less the same number of files and prints 63730.
    Any idea? This can not possibly be related to the type of files the zips contain? right? In any case, the contents of both zips are text/xml files.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    ZiroFrequency

    I know its a problem with this particular zip. But whats interesting is that "unzip" can easily open / verify the zip and claims that it is a valid zip.
    As I wrote earlier, I unzipped the file and zipped up the contents again in a new zip but java can't still count the contents correctly.
    So I am thinking there is something to do with the "contents" of the xmls inside the zip? (characterset issues?)
    There are no exceptions thrown and no error anywhere :(
    I basically need to pinpoint the issue so that I can have it corrected upstream as this zip file processing is an ongoing process and I need to resolve it not just once but for the periodic executions.
    Hope this helps explain the issue.

  • Getting files off zip disks??

    Anyone know how to connect an old SCSI device to my new iMac? Trying to salvage old files on zip disk. Data recovery companies charging $30/disk, would like to do myself if possible. TIA.

    Unfortunately Zip drives are not compatible with Mac OS X 10.6, and certainly not compatible with 10.9.
    You could run some compatible version of Windows on your machine, but check with the virtualization
    tool maker if they are aware of any that work with USB Zip drives:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2741
    Cause if not, you are better off going with the data recovery firm.
    Firewire SCSI adapters have been made by the now defunct OrangeMicro, and USB SCSI adapters by Ratoc.
    The USB SCSI adapters are really slow.

    If you managed to get to the point where the applet container is created (the "gray square"), but the form never appears then you can assume one or more of the following has occurred:
    1. The JRE crashed after startup. Many times, but not always, if such a crash occurs it will leave a JRE dump file on the desktop. Its content may help to identify the cause.
    2. The Forms runtime crashed at startup. Many times, but not always, a Forms dump file will be created on the server. Its content may help to identify the cause.
    3. The Forms runtime was unable to start at all. This can occur on unix systems when/if there is a resource or permissions issue. One of the more common causes is if the file descriptor (nofiles) value is set too low.
    4. The applet is actually running, but has attempted to display a dialog box and is awaiting your acknowledgement, but the box was wrongfully sent to the background behind the browser. A similar issue was reported in one of the JRE 1.6.0_xx series, however I don't recall which one. Uninstall your current version and install the latest which is 1.6.0_27
    There are other possibilities, but these are most common.
    I would recommend the following:
    1. Uninstall any JRE older than 1.6.0_27. Reboot. Install 1.6.0_27
    2. Set networkRetries=5 in formsweb.cfg
    3. Set FORMS_TIMEOUT to 15 (default). Setting to a high value as you have is not recommended and is rarely necessary.
    4. Verify that the test form works. For example:
    http://machine:port/forms/frmservlet?form=test
    5. It appears that you are trying to use WU_TEST_106.fmx. Instead, download an updated version of this file (the name has also changed)
    http://www.oracle.com/ocom/groups/public/@otn/documents/webcontent/196249.zip
    6. Ensure that you have compiled webutil.pll into .plx. Do not use an old version of this file. The installation will include one. If not, check for it in an installation that also includes the Builders.

  • How to check the file size before loading it to the context

    Hello,
    I have an application to upload a file and write it to the server using the FileUpload UI and IWDResource Interface.
    I would like to limit the size of the file the user is uploading to, say, 2MB.
    The problem is that the current API doesn't allow me to check the file size before I store it in IWDResource. The API available for IWDResource:
    IWDResource resource = ...
    InputStream stream = resource.read(false);
    size = stream.available();
    Is working on the file only AFTER storing it in the context and the server's memory. This way, if a user decides to upload 1GB file for example, he can easily crash the server.
    I am already familiar with <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/00062266-3aa9-2910-d485-f1088c3a4d71">this</a> arcticle but it doesn't answer this question as well, all it does is calculating the file size only after storing it in the context.
    Any ideas...?

  • Problems checking in files to DMS

    Hi DMS gurus,
    I have some questions regarding the checking in files to SAP DMS. Any help would be very much appreciated.
    1. Ideally, I need to check in a binary table with the file content directly to DMS.  Is it possible? I am trying to use CVAPI_DOC_CHECKIN with PF_CONTENT_PROVIDE = 'TBL', but it doesn't work because there is no path for the file name in PT_FILES_X since I do not have a file, just a binary table.
    2. How to automatically delete the file from the source after it's been checked in? The checkbox "Delete file after check-in" is marked in configuration for WS application, but the source file is not getting deleted.
    3. How to check in the file from Application server using BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHECKIN2? The HOSTNAME requires the network address, but how to configure it. In SPRO I found network addresses for Data carriers. Not sure if it's the place.

    >2) Convert the STRING format to XSTRING format by using the FM SCMS_STRING_TO_XSTRING.
    Actually you should use CL_BCS_CONVERT=>STRING_TO_XSTRING now.
    >3) Use the method COMPRESS_BINARY of class CL_ABAP_GZIP to compress the XSTRING file.
    You probably want to use CL_ABAP_ZIP instead of CL_ABAP_GZIP.  CL_ABAP_GZIP only does compression, which is fine for storing a single packet of data in the database.  However CL_ABAP_ZIP is better suited for mult-part zip (multiple inner files).
    >4) Use the method SEND_WEB_MAIL of class CL_HRRCF_SERVICES_MAIL to mail across the zipped contents.
    This seems to be an HR specific class. Better to use the cross application, NetWeaver provided functionality for sending mail - CL_BCS.

    Hi,
    This is a common problem when you import projects to NWDS. Do like this.
    1.Change to Navigator tab in NWDS and delete gen_wdp folder.
    2.Switch to Web Dynpro Explorer. Select the Project -> Right click-> Select properties -> in the wizard select Java Build Path -> Select Libraries tab -> You will find jar files with warnings
    3.Remove the jar and add the jar file with same name to the project one by one.
    4.For each jar file repeat step 3.
    5.Save the project
    Or
    removed the read-only property from all folders / files of the project and it solved my problem.
    Hope this helps!!
    Thanks & Regards

  • Checking for files in a folder -- Wrong output

    Hi guys,
    I'm writing a simple program, I have to check for 6 files (hardcoded, they will never change) if they are in certain directories/paths.

    The paths are on networked drives, does that make a difference?
    I'm rather stuck on this one, any help would be appreaciated.

    The paths are on networked drives, does that make a difference?Try the above on a local file and a networked file.
    I'm writing a simple program, Actually a simple program would be something like:
    File file = new File("xxx");
    System.out.println(file.exists());No need to include all the code you posted.

  • Unable to check config files through EM in 10.1.3.3.0

    Hi All,
    I have OAS (10.1.3.3.0) webserver and appserver in installed on different machines.
    as we all know earlier release ie 10g(10.1.2) we can check all he config files like httpd.conf, ssl.conf etc through EM, but can we check config files in this relase ie.(10.1.3.3.0) through EM.
    Regards
    Kumar

    Kumar,
    Oracle HTTP Server (OHS) in 10.1.3.x can not be managed using AS Control (EM), like you could do it in 10.1.2.x. Not just viewing OHS's config files you can't also start/stop it, make config changes (server properties, performance directives, log configuration etc.), view performance metrics and log entries etc. This is mainly due to AS Control in 10.1.3.x is changed to be JMX based and OHS doesn't have any MBeans in 10.1.3.x. So OHS can't be managed and monitored (except seeing its up/down state) via AS Control in 10.1.3.x.
    FYI, OHS in next major release of Oracle Fusion Middleware (i.e. 11gR1) can be fully managed and monitored in AS Control but for now you will have to do it manually.
    Thanks
    Shail

  • Unable to check in file

    Hello,
    I am having issue with checking in files to TFS 2013. I use Team Explorer and Studio 2013.  This issue just came up recently (as of 12/18/2014). the server had no issue like this prior.
    Here is the issue
    1) create a team project named " testProject"
    2) add a file to source control "testfile1.txt"
    3) check the file "testfile1.txt" in
    4) check the file "testfile1.txt" out for editting
    5) add 1 line to  testfile1.txt using notepad
    6) check in file
    7) check out the file
    8) add line #2 to the file
    9) check in testfile1.txt: this step I get this error "All of the changes were either unmodified files or locks. The changes have been undone by the server."
    any suggestion to what the problem may be?

    Hi TDN,
    Thanks for your post.
    You’re using TFS 2013 Update 4 and VS 2013 Update 4?
    According the error message, it seems TFS Server think this file is not changed.
    After step 8, if there’s the edited icon shows on your testfile1.txt in Source Control Explorer?
    Please click Refresh button in your Source Control Explorer, then re-edit your testfile1.txt file and try check-in again.
    And try to reproduce this scenario on your another client(VS 2013 installed), check if this issue can be reproduce on another client or not.
