Check Box Mandatory

Hi friends,
i have a check box item, i need to make this item as a mandatory item and this is my LOV for the item
STATIC:;Y
i have also given value Required as 'yes' and also i have writtened the validation for it stating that the item is not null....
But none of it seemed to work...
Without checking the box, if i pressed submit button means, it is submitting...
It should not submit without checking the box...

is doing validation at the moment,even if i did this required="true"

Such a case can be handled when u fire a ValueChangeListener which validates it every time a checkbox is selected or unselected. The method needs to validate against all the records hold up in the iterator or against the DB as required by the usecase.

How to make check box mandatory.

Kindly help , how can I make a checkbox UI mandatory and have the corresponding label the mandatory * sign.

the documentation doesn't show the required-property for the checkbox. That should explain why the required sign isn't shown.
But it can simply be added manually:

Hidden Email Submit Button & Mandatory Check Boxes

Hi guys
I'm trying to get my form to only allow people to return the form (via email) once they have accepted the terms and conditions AND the privacy policy.
Their acceptance of these is confirmed by 2 check boxes called acceptservicesterms and acceptprivacypolicy respectively. For each of these check boxes I have added this script to 'initialise':

I have then set my email submit button (EmailSubmitButton) to 'hidden (exclude from layout)' and created a 'fake' email submission button in its place. The click event for the FakeEmailSubmitButton is scrpited as:

in this line the field name is acceptservicesterms but u typed as acceptserviceterms - letter s missing.
after this correction i am able to see the error messages.

VERSION "completed" check box to be made mandatory

When you create a requisition or an external purchasing document (such as a PO), the system automatically creates an initial version (version 0). From this time on, changes and newly entered data are documented in the current version that is valid in each case.
In the case of requisitions, one version is generated per requisition item (at item level). In the case of external purchasing documents, one version is generated per document (at header level).
Once all necessary data has been entered for the purchase requisition, the version must be completed. Only then can:
● The purchase requisition be released or converted into a follow-on document
If a requisition is subject to an overall release procedure, the versions of all requisition items must be completed in order for the requisition to be released and converted.
● The external purchasing document be released or outputted (printed out or transmitted as a fax or EDI message etc.)
You complete a version by setting the Completed indicator in the version data. The processor of a purchase requisition or external purchasing document thereby explicitly indicates that he or she has now made all changes desired at the time.
You can specify that version 0 is to be completed automatically in Customizing for Purchasing. To do so, set the Version 0 OK indicator under Version Management ® Set Up Version Management.

Mandatory check box before form submission

I want users to accept my 'Terms & Conditions' statement on an application form before they are allowed to submit it by the e-mail button.
I want to place a required check box which produces an error message and prevents form submission until it is checked.
I have read hordes of the postings but none of the solutions seem to do quite what I want.
Any advice would be gratefully received

I used the script you provided in the above post, and it worked perfectly, but my situation is a little different: I have two checkboxes, but I only want the message to appear if one of them isn't selected. If the other checkbox is selected, I need the fake submit button to go ahead and generate the email to send the form. I'm new to LiveCycle Designer, and I'm unsure of how to correctly use the "if" and "else" javascript. I need the message to appear when clicking the WebExYes checkbox, but I don't want it to appear when the user clicks the IntercallCheckBox.
Here's what my script looks like so far:

Under which case the below 2 fields are required to b filled while creating a PO apart from making them mandatory fieds in document type settings.
1. GR msg check box in 'delivery/invoice' tab of header data
2. Storage Location data in item details
in me59n, system unable process p.req to PO becoz it is mandatory to fill these two fields.

1. GR message check box issues message to the buyer after every the goods receipt against the PO.
Message type has to be configured for this functionality.
2. If you are managing stock of material at storage location level , then you will need to maintain this at PO item level.

Row is not deleted when check box is selected urgent please

my problem is, i am creating number of rows dynamicaly and storing the values in the database. I do have one delete check box. if the user checked that box that row should be deleted. I am using array to return the check box values. It is working fine when there is multiple rows.. suppose if i do have only one row and trying to delete that row i am getting an exception. I haven't read your code, but can make a guess at what's going wrong. Checkboxes do behave in a weird manner depending upon whether you have selected one or many.
Assuming this is the statement where you are generating the checkbox :
<input type="checkbox" name="checkBoxName" value="<%= someValue %>">
What you could do is read the checked checkBoxes in an array :
String[] values = request.getParameterValues("checkBoxName");
int sizeOfValues = values.length;
Then use the sizeOfValues to perform your delete action :
if (sizeOfValues==1)
     performDelete();
else
     for (int i=0; i<sizeOfValues(); i++)
          performDelete();

Need to change the LOV field based on checked box selection in OAF page

Dear ALL,
I have a requirement as below:
I have a custom OAF page having a lov field which is mandatory, a check box and a two text fields.
So based on LOV value selection i am defaulting two text field value automatically.
So my requirement is when user selects the check box automatically the LOV field should be non mandatory and user can insert in values to the lov field and text field and submit it.
SO basically based on check box field selection i need to make the lov field in such a way it should accept all the values what user enters instead of check the query added in VO behind the LOV.
Please suggest me some pointers to achieve this requirement.

Making a Text Field Required if User Checks box

Hi,
I am currently using Adobe Designer 7.0, and am trying to make a text field required if a user clicks on a check box above the text field.
I have the following code for the check box (on Change) but it doesn't appear to be working!! Any suggestions??

you are trying to change the value of the field instead of it's accessability.
Try this:
if (this.rawValue == 1 ){
TextField7.mandatory = "error";

Grey out the input field as soon as check box checks on selection screen!

In my report selection screen I have input_field1, input_field2, check_box1. Both input fields are mandatory fileds.
My requireemnt is: If user as soon as checks the check_box1, the first input_field1 must go grey out (not allow allow to enter)!
So I have assigned a user command to check box and assigned a modif-ID to the input_field1
and wrote a LOOP AT SCREEN code as below,

I assume P1, P2 and P3 are marked as obligatory.
You cannot achieve that. But here is an alternative to achieve a similar functionality.

IF p1 is INITIAL or P2 is INITIAL or P3 is INITIAL.
    MESSAGE 'Enter all required fields' TYPE 'E'.
ENDIF.
AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT.
LOOP AT SCREEN.
    IF show_all = 'X' AND
       screen-group1 = 'BL2'.
      screen-input = '0'.
    ENDIF.

I'm trying to find information in the manuals about when the green check is applied to the dictionary check boxes to the right of the service form during ordering moment. I have customers who want to know why the check is missing when they enter the data displaying for that dictionary.

Hi Nancy,
The expected behavior is that the box should be checked once there are no remaining mandatory fields in the particular dictionary. Once the user completes and then exits the last mandatory field, the box should be checked. Is this not the behavior you are seeing?

In BMM layer of OBIEE 10G, we see a Bridge Table check box when we double click on each table.
What is the difference it makes if we check that VS don't check that. Is it mandatory to check it?
There are 2 ways to model many-to-many relationships.
1. Perform Fact-->Bridge and Bridge-->Dimension join in physical layer. In BMM layer, bring Fact and Dimension tables. Do an inner join between Bridge-->Dimension and join the Dimension to the Fact.
Question:- In this case do we need to check the Bridge Table check box on the Dimension table?
2. Perform Fact-->Bridge and Bridge-->Dimension join in physical layer. In BMM layer, bring Fact, Bridge and Dimension tables. Fact-->Bridge and Bridge-->Dimension.
