Chinese filename in Gmail attachment saved as ??????

This is happening consistently in all Safari I ever tried on my MacBook Pro since 2007.
If someone send me a file with Chinese file name to my Gmail account, if I download it from Safari, the Chinese characters all got changed to ?s.
But if I download from Firefox, everything is perfect.
I searched this forum and the whole web, very strangely, no one's complaining about it. I consider it as a good sign, because it could mean this should be a easy solution that everybody already know except myself.
So please help me open my eyes
Cheer!

Hi
try to print it or create a pdf from and check.
sometimes special characters will not be displayed in print preview.

  • Mail's attachement's filename is 100000000000000.doc  for chinese filename

    When I recieved a email with a chinese filename attachement form Exchange server(IMAP download). The filename will change to something like 100000000000000.doc
    No matter I change the text code in the "Message" coloumn, the filename still keep the 100000000000000000.doc.
    But in the meantime, the same email recieved by Entourage, the attachement filename will be normal in Chinese chracter.
    Please help me about this, thank you.

    Hi Daniel,
    As i know, there is a property of ExchangeService ,
    this is the detail info:
    The application can change the ImpersonatedUserId property
    to impersonate multiple accounts
    This is the example:
    void ImpersonationSample()
    ExchangeService service = new ExchangeService(ExchangeVersion.Exchange2007_SP1);
    service.Credentials = new NetworkCredential(appName, appPassword, emailDomain);
    service.AutodiscoverUrl(appEmail);
    service.ImpersonatedUserId = new ImpersonatedUserId(ConnectingIdType.SmtpAddress, user1Email);
    Folder newFolder = new Folder(service);
    newFolder.DisplayName = "TestFolder1";
    newFolder.Save(WellKnownFolderName.Inbox);
    service.ImpersonatedUserId = new ImpersonatedUserId(ConnectingIdType.SmtpAddress, user2Email);
    Folder newFolder2 = new Folder(service);
    newFolder2.DisplayName = "TestFolder1";
    newFolder2.Save(WellKnownFolderName.Inbox);
    }read this link if you want to know detail info:https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/dd633680%28v=exchg.80%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396So, is there similar API or method to do impersonate in sharepoint online ?BR

  • Gmail attachment pics saved on desktop only shows 1 pic. the original email had 20 pics.

    gmail attachment pics saved on desktop only shows 1 pic. the original email had 20 pics.

    Well, as usual with any new release, there will always be issues. No one is perfect and Apple is no different. At least the important functions work for me (phone, browser, ipod). I've already submitted this issue as a bug so hopefully in the next firmware version, it will be fixed. I've heard they're testing a 2.0.1 version but not sure if that would include this fix.
    As for removing that picture from your phone, I'd connect the iPhone to a computer and then delete it directly from the iPhone. I haven't tried that on mine but it might work. When I connected the iPhone to my computer and transferred it, it was the exact same size as the one I sent in my email. I haven't had the issue your experiencing though but I have the 1st generation iPhone, running the 5A347 firmware build. If you have the 3G, could be limited to the new phone or the older firmware on the 3G phones? (I think they came with 5A345 out of the box). Maybe a restore is in order or just wait for the 2.0.1 version to come out. Hope this helped.

  • File upload in FormDataMultiPart with invalid Chinese filename in MS Window

    Hi,
    I found a strange problem that for the same file loading code work very well in OSX but not in Windows. The chinese filename get corrupted in Windows but not in OSX. I'm using Jersey 1.9 and the server is running Node.js. Is it a Java problem or Jersey?
    here is my code:
    FormDataMultiPart form = new FormDataMultiPart();
    form.bodyPart(new FileDataBodyPart("thumbnail", file));
    System.out.println("******************** =" + file.getName());
    System.out.println("form.getContentDisposition().getFileName() ="
    + form.getBodyParts().get(0).getContentDisposition()
    .getFileName());
    String s = clientResource.path("uploadTagFile").path(tagid)
    .type(MediaType.MULTIPART_FORM_DATA_TYPE)
    .accept(MediaType.APPLICATION_JSON).post(String.class, form);
    try {
    JSONObject j = (JSONObject) new JSONArray(s).get(0);
    System.out.println("******************** =" + j.toString());
    return j;
    } catch (JSONException e) {
    // TODO Auto-generated catch block
    e.printStackTrace();
    return null;
    and the log returned from OSX:

  • How to get filename from mail attachment

    Hi all,
    I have a XI scenario Mail->XI->RFC. I have created my own adapter module which handle all attachments from incoming mail.
    Everything work fine, but in my module I try to get information about filename of mail attachment. I use getContentType() metod to get the filename but this method return only the mimetype of the document. The getDescription() method return olny string "mail attachment". I need to get the original filename of the attachment or at least the file extension.
    Is it possible to get the whole filename from mail attachment?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    You can tryout with adapter modules . You can make use of following Adapter attributes also -

  • Cannot open "filename" because it was saved with a newer version of Adobe InDesign CC (10.0).

    I updated my whole cloud last week. Now I can't open a InDesign document saved just the day before. I get the error message:
    Cannot open “filename” because it was saved with a newer version of Adobe InDesign CC (10.0).
    Cannot open “filename” because it was saved with a newer version of Adobe InDesign CC (10.0). You must use that version or later to open the file. To then enable it to be opened in this version, choose save as InDesign CS4 or later, or export to IDML.
    This is a document that I created in InDesign CC just last week.

    Hi Robert,
    To open an INDD file in the older version (CS4-CC), you need to save it as an IDML. For CS3 & older versions, save it as an INX.
    Thanks

    As documented in Converting Acrobat® JavaScript for Use in LiveCycle Designer Forms:
    "All Acrobat Annot properties and methods can be used in LiveCycle Designer forms.
    "Note: Only Static forms support the annotation layer; Dynamic forms do not."
    You will need to know the number of the annotation on the page and then you can use the "contents" property to obtain the name of the file.

  • Problem with chinese fileNames inside a zipfile

    Hi all
    I have a really strange problem . I needed to create a zip file(English name) and add a chinese file to that Zip . I had done this using java.uti.zip and in the output zip file i am seeing a totally different chiense name than what i had expected . My code looks like this
    String fileName = "";(Chinese fileName)
    File zipFile = new File("abc.txt");
    ZipOutputStream zipOutStrm = null;
    BufferedInputStream in = null;
    try
    int length = 0;
    byte[] buffer = new byte[2048];
    zipOutStrm = new ZipOutputStream(new FileOutputStream("abc.zip"));
    ZipEntry zipe = new ZipEntry(fileName);
    zipOutStrm.putNextEntry(zipe);
    in = new BufferedInputStream(new FileInputStream(zipFile));
    length = in.read(buffer);
    while(length != -1)
    zipOutStrm.write(buffer, 0, length);
    length = in.read(buffer);
    catch(FileNotFoundException e)
    e.printStackTrace();
    catch(IOException e)
    e.printStackTrace();
    finally
    try
    in.close();
    zipOutStrm.closeEntry();
    zipOutStrm.close();
    catch(Exception e)
    //do nothing ;
    Later i found out from the sun site that there is some encoding issues with the way java does the zip and winZip encoding .
    Can any one let me know how to come out of this ??

    The file name encoding issue with ZIP is basically: The encoding of file names in ZIP-files is not specified and when non-ASCII file names came along each and every zip-utility solved it in a different way, some did not solve it at all, some store it in ISO-8859-1 (= no chinese), some store it in UTF-8 (I think Java does this), others might have other strategies ...
    So if there is a way to not use non-ASCII characters in your zip-files you greatly enhance the portability of your programm.

  • Java.io.File give incorrect chinese filenam when using javaw.exe

    I am running Chinese Win2000 Pro (SP2) with jre1.3.1 installed. If I use javaw.exe to run my application, java.io.File does not give the correct filename for chinese filename when I use it to run through a directory, though all English filenames show correctly.
    When the same program is run by java.exe instead of javaw.exe, the program runs with no problem and all chinese name are obtained successfully from java.io.File. Does anyone know the reason behind this ?
    I need to use javaw.exe since I am invoking Java from VC++. I don't want a black command prompt window to pop up behind my java application. Please help.

    Hi,
    I am sorry for not replying to ur query. Infact I am facing my own problem and after reading your problem I thought you could help me out in it because you are already successful in invoking java from VC++.
    My problem is that I want to invoke java class from VC++ in such a way that I want to capture the stdout of java class that I invoke from VC++ and use it in VC++. Let me explain first thing first. I am not able to invoke java class from withing vc++. I have looked at JNI help on SUN site but it is giving me lots of compilation error when I include JNI.h in my VC++ program. If you could help me out in this problem, it would be great.
    Thanks in advance.

    Here to help shed some additional light on this case, jdondr. I also own a Maxx. With your phone, if you access the Gallery, there should be a folder named: Messaging.  If you look at the upper left hand corner, you should see a drop down box. Is it currently set to Albums?

  • Garbled FileName of email attachment

    I am trying to send one email with attachment whose filename is in Japanese. Every character in subject, body of the mail is in Japanese and it is coming in mail very correctly. But the filename which also in Japanese is coming as garbled characters. I even tried to open this mail on windows Japanese OS box with Japanese MS outlook, but the problem still remain.
    I am using JSP and Jrun as app server which are on English OS box. I even tried doing same steps on Japanese OS box, but still the result is same. Please help me.

  • Gmail attachment stopped working in Firefox with latest update. What to do?

    My Gmail attachment function stopped working with the latest Firefox update (Aug. 2014). Things I tried that didn't help include:
    1. Re-installed the latest version.
    2. Restored to my earlier version.
    3. Cleared cookies.
    Gmail functions just fine in IE, but I would rather stay with Firefox if I can. Any suggestions?

    If you can't add attachments to Gmail messages then you need to add an allow exception to allow pop-ups for this Google website (mail.google.com).
    Easiest to do this is to click the padlock on the location bar and click the "More Information" button to open the "Tools > Page Info" window with the Security tab selected.
    Proceed to the Permissions tab
    Remove the tick on "Open Pop-up Windows" > "Use Default" and click the Allow radio button to change the permission to allow pop-ups for the mail.google.com domain.
    Google is looking into this issue, see:
