Choose Username for sub account

Setting up a sub account on BT Yahoo - keeps rejecting my attempts to choose a username.
I do not believe that every one of the 20+ permutations I have tried are already in use.
1. Is there a problem with this page?
2. If there is something wrong with my attmepts, why does it not provide more feedback than "Please correct the errors highlighted below" ?
Until this gets fixed I cannot migrate my email to my new BT account.

If you have created a preferred e-mail address in a sub account, then it is possible to have this swapped with your primary e-mail account, provided you are the account holder.

Make logging in easier for Sub-Accounts on this computer - when I click on this tab in the main email account it does nothing. It used to allow me to log into all my accounts easier by listing all email address's at log in, but for months I've had to type in each email address whenever switching emails. Can anyone help with this issue? Its on my verizon yahoo account.

Hey dpg123, it sounds like someone accidentally click on save password when signing in. You can try to reverse the issue by clicking onto Internet Option from the Control Panel. On the General Tab under Browsering History click on the Delete button and you have to delete Temporary Internet Files, Cookies and Passwords on that pc.

Trying to set up email account for sub account

I have been trying to set up an email account for a sub account through verizon message center all day with no luck. It won't let me past the first screen. Any ideas?

Are you getting some kind of error? This is a peer-to-peer support board, so the more information you give us to work with, the better. (Not personal information like username or password, though.)

Itunes account for sub account not allowed?

I'm trying to open a new itunes account for my daughter who has a sub account from our .Me "Family Pack". So far, I have been denied completing the sign up process. The error message is: "We are experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again later". Does this mean sub accounts in a .Me "Family Pack" can not own individual itunes accounts? Does it mean one itunes account must be shared among all "Family Pack" members? If so, this seems very limiting for itunes business and not a good incentive for buying the .Me Family Pack. Can someone tell me if this is true or how Family Pack sub accounts can open their own itunes account. Thanks

If you want them to have access to songs and videos, even free ones, you will need to provide some sort of payment method to set up the account, if not a credit card than a prepaid iTunes card or gift certificate. Apple uses this as verification of the user's country of residence, something the content owners require of them.
If you only want your users to have access to free songs, you can set them up an account using your credit card, then remove the credit card information from the account. Then they will only be able to download free songs and videos, though if they attempt to purchase something that has a cost, it may allow the purchase, create a balance due, and "clog" up the works until the item is paid for in some way.

Payments for Sub Accounts

So I just recently created a sub account for one of the lines on my plan. It hasn't happened yet but what happens if the owner of the sub account misses a payment?

Unfortunately, the owner of the sub account is simply the owner of the account. Only one person is financially responsible for the entire account.
If the "owner of the sub account" misses a payment, it will reflect badly on the account owner's credit AND all phones on the account could be suspended. Verizon does not suspend "sub account" phones separately as it makes no such designation among phones on an account. Either the entire account is paid in full or the entire account is not paid in full. If the entire account is not paid in full the entire account could be suspended.

Retrieve or change password for sub account

I need to retrieve or change the password for a sub account (my wife) Her computer died and am setting up her email on a new computer.

If you know the password to the sub, you can log into it and change the password the same way as you would change the password for the primary.
If you do not know the current password, you can try the forgot password link. Apparently this link is not the same accross all pages, and some of the links don't play well with sub accounts. Go to http://webmail.verizon.net and use the Forgot Your Password? link from there. You will have to answer the secret question for this method.
If you cannot remember the secret answer, you can call Tech Support and have them reset it for you. They will reset it to a random string of numbers and letters, which you can then reset to a personal password through the customer portal. Contrary to what Catemaco stated above, tech support does not have to set your permanent sub account password. Reset passwords are intended to be temporary measures.

Yahoo login page incorrect for sub accounts but not admin account.

Using: Windows Vista OS and Mozilla Firefox 4.0.1.
BT Yahoo has a login page that allows the user to create a seal on the login page to help identify a valid website.
I am th main account/admin and I have no issues; everything looks good and correct.
My husband has a sub account, but there is no seal showing nor is there a clickable facility to create a seal.
This occured immediately after upgrading to Firefox 4 and unstalling and reinstalling did nothing. Had no issues prior to upgrade.
Appreciate any helpful suggestions.

Any ideas regarding the weirdness of why my computer with a main account and a sub account with only one version of Firefox 4.0.1 manages to view the login page of Yahoo completely differently?

Sub-account user id rules

I'm trying to create a sub-account but I keep getting a message that the names I choose are invalid. I know that there are rules for passwords and for sub account names, and I am following those rules. I'm not talking about already used names, like "John" -- that gets me the error message that the name is already being used.
I know that the "-" or the "_" or the "." can be used.There is a minimum (6) and maximum (30) limit on the number of characters in the name. If I follow all of those rules, why would it be invalid if it is not already in use by another user?

I wanted to share my results with the community here. Verizon is asserting that there is an apperently unwritten rule about special characters requiring a separation of two letters or numbers betwen them.
"One of the parameters of alias/username creation was two special characters, whether they be periods or underscores (._)
cannot be next to each other, or separated by only one character. The actual glitch occurred which allowed it to be created originally. That format should not work on our portal."
Maybe Verizon will add that to the list of rules.

Forgot my sub-account user name AND password

As the admin on the account, why do I not have access to the username on sub accounts? I am trying to see the emails for a sub-account that I set up, but I forgot the username and the password for the account. Is there anyway that I can acess the sub account without having to delete it and create a new account?

Yes there is a way. Login to your primary account. Go to the account profile page. Scroll to the bottom to see all the user names on your account. Once you have the username, you can sign out of the account. Go to the login page and click that you forgot your password and follow the instructions. Sub-account cannot send email from Apple Mail

I've tried setting up two sub-accounts to send/receive email but no matter what I try, these accounts error out on sending email. Looks like they aren't recognized by smtp server. Is there a different setting for sub-accounts?

I fixed my problem - I deleted my email account on my iPhone, then tried to setup a new account. I had a few problems setting it up. It wouldn't recognize the incoming or outgoing servers and I lost my email altogether for a few hours. Then I changed every setting possible and finally figured out that I had 2-3 "Other SMTP Servers" as well as my "Primary Server". Once I deleted the Other SMTP Servers, my email worked and i'm able to send emails now!
I also think changing the "Server Port" number helped solve my problem also, and making sure "Use SSL" was turned off.

Add a way to find or reset password of email sub accounts

There is currently no way to find the password of sub accout email addresses. It is easy to retrieve or reset the password of your primary Verizon email address. It is impossible to do this for sub accounts.....or it is incredibly well hidden. PLease fix this!

My response from a previous thread (which I found easily with the SEARCH feature):
You change a forgotten password for a sub account the same way you do for the primary account. There's a "Forgot Password" link that will reset it for you once you answer the Secret Question, or you can contact Technical Support and they can reset it for you. There are several options for getting in touch with someone in Tech Support on the Contact Us page.

Sorry I cannot follow why you would even use the PC to control the Time Capsule. Apple have not kept the Windows version of the utility up to date.. so they keep making it harder and harder to run windows with apple routers.

Delete abd re-enter your Facebook account information jnder the accounts tab in the iPhoto preferences
