Ciffing Of PPM

Dear All,
I am facing a problem in ciffing of PPM in development server.While doing CFM1 and CFM2 it is now showing any error but in APO PPM is not diplayed.IN CFG3 if i found a log it indicates this material has no activities but in routing and workcentre i found no error,Please suggest

Hi Vikas,
In APO the activity variable time is calculated considering the Min. Lot size, the Base quantity of the BOM and the variable time maintained in MR/Routing.
APO considers these timings up to three decimal places and if the variable time for any activity is close to that system considers as if there are no activities in that.
So try calculating the Activity variable time yourself for any PPM and check if it is close to zero (consider three decimal places). You may want to increase the base quantity or/and the Min Lot size to mutliples of 10 if the calculation shows negligible small activity variable time

         When i am trying to CIF the PPM from ECC, i am encounter with the following error:
    The PPM could not be created because no activity could be generated from the master data upon which this is based.
    The PPM is not transferred.

    For kind information i maintained production version with routing in the material master.

    Please Check on the following things.
    1) All operations and activities in Bom & routing are maintained
    2) Processing time & set up time are maintained
    3) The resource under the ppm is maintained in all respects

  • PPM Not CIFing

    All,
    I am trying to CIF over PPM for new material numbers and they are not coming through. In CFM1 they show as part of the integration model. I activate in CFM 2 and nothing comes over. I checked in CFM5 and the material does not show in an integratio model?
    I am not sure if this is related to an enhancement pack upgrade we just implemented.

    Hi!
    U may try the following:
    1. Execute the activation step in background and check the job log through sm37.
    If you see "Material xxxxx  plant abcd production version yyyy: PPM has no activities"
    Check the control key for operations in routing. Atleast one of the operations should have scheduling relevant control key assigned to it. If it is not assigned then PPM will not be generated.

  • PPDS to SNP PPM conversion error log

    Dear all,
    Iu2019m facing an issue in PPM conversion from PPDS to SNP.
    I have deleted the both PPDS & SNP PPM for a product/location combination & the corresponding PV has been made invalid.
    I have created a new PV for the product/location combination.
    When I execute CIF & conversion for the newly created PV, though system is generating both new PPDS & SNP PPMu2019s but at the same time it issuing error messages referring the deleted PPMu2019s in transaction /SAPAPO/PPM_CONV_LOG - SNP PPM Generation: Display Log.
    Please suggest how to resolve this issue. More over I would like to know is there any table where the deleted PPMu2019s data is stored which system is referring while generating new PPMu2019s?

    Hi Shaiz,
    I am surprised at the behavior of system. PV is invalid and still it is giving error message.
    Please try to CIF new PPM for newly created PV after making earlier PPM inactive.
    If the above said option does not work.
    I could suggest you to try this. Let's hope it works.
    1) Delete all SNP and PPDS PPM for this product location combination.
    Make sure PPMs are inactive and deleted.
    2) Delete the PV which is invalid and maintain only one valid PV.
    Now try to CIF it afresh.
    As far as your last question is concerned.
    all the plans can be accessed by table  /SAPAPO/PLAN
    You will get all the details about all PPMs in this table along with the status if PPM (Active/Inactive)

  • Transfer of PPM to SCM 5.0

    Hi Gurus,
    I have noticede that whever we transfer PPM to SCM system, activity time in PPM is defined in Hrs only.
    Eventhouh we specify timiings in R/3 routing in min or sec, still PPm displays in Hrs only with apprppriate conversion.
    Our requirement is to display time in PPM in min & not is Hrs
    Is there any way to fix this issue?

    Mangesh,
    In R/3 change the Base Unit of measure in the affected Workcenter to MIN
    CR02>Capacity tab>Capacity Header Look in the Available capacity block, change Base U/M to MIN or whatever you want to appear in your PPM..
    You will have to re-create and re-cif the PPM across.  Existing orders using the 'old' version of the PPM may have to be managed.

  • Production in another location

    Hi,
    When i CIF the PPM for some material it is creating with Production in another location but for some material it is not creating. I checked the special procurement it is maintained correctly in the planning plant. Everything looks find but still PPM is not creating with production in another location.
    Please let me know in case anybody come across this issue.

    Pl. check if material and/or source plant is maintained in active integration model before CIFing the PPM.

  • PPDS production order dates mismatch between APO and R3

    Hi Friends,
    We are facing one problem regarding production order date mish match between R3 and APO systems specific to a product.
    The product is planned in PPDS and the order automatically transfer to R3 through online CIF.
    PPM has got two operations 0010 and 0020 and activity relationships are like this:
    P(0010) - P(0020) Start - Start relation ship
    S(0010) - P(0010) End - Start relationship.
    In PPDS dates are shown as :
    on operation 0010 the start/end  dates are shown as  08.15.09 to 08.22.09
    on operation 0020 the start/end  dates are shown as 08.15.09 to 08.22.09
    Overall order start date is  08.15.09
    Overall order finish date is 08.22.09
    and in R3 dates are shown as:
    on operation 0010 the start/end  date are shown as  08.15.09 to 08.22.09
    on operation 0020 the start/end dates are shown as 08.22.09 to 08.29.09
    Overall order start date is  08.15.09
    Overall order finish date is 08.29.09
    The order is off one week (APO vs R3) with start and finish dates.  
    if we change DS Board settings to ignore internal relationships manually then the dates are matching exactly in APO and R3.
    We want the production order dates to be matched without manual intervention.
    Could some one please provide some hints on what is happening here and how to correct it.

    Thanks a lot for your valuable replies in this regard.
    Actually this problem is in production environment and it took some time to test the problem with the master data modifications
    you suggested.
    As DB and Siddhrath mentioned, the problem was with routing definition. There is no parallel sequence maintained in the routing but there is start-start relation maintained in APO PPM.
    We corrected the routing definition and checked the order dates. Now the dates  are matching in R3 and APO.
    I am awarding DB and Siddharth each five points in this regard.

    I have to create a PPM with alternate modes. I can do it in APO. But not sure how to make setups in R3 PP-PI. Main proble,I feel, I am not sure how to set up alternate resources in a Recipe.

    Hi Vard,
    Simple steps,
    Create a characteristics eg.color_char (Values : red)
    Create a class with type 19 (Workcentre class type) eg. color_class, assign Color_char here.
    Create 3 resources, classify them with class  color_class assign the value 'Red' for all 3 of them.
    Create a recipe, classify the operation (double click on the classification indicator) with the class  color_class  enter the valus 'Red' here too...! create required phases..!
    Now CIF this PPM , you will see all the 3 resources as alternatives in APO for the phases..!

  • Manual creation of PPDS PPM in SCC03

    We are currently in process of experimenting PPDS PPM, since we have multiple components to sourced and produced from subcontractor. I need a step by step instruction of how to create manual PPDS PPM.
    I did tried SCC03 and create Activity, resource and PPM but still I am missing something, and I am not able to acitvate my PPM. I used use of plan P to create PPM.
    This is the scenario which I need help
    I have 1 final SKU which has two components (Welcome Kit and Device)
    Welcome kit delivered from a supplier
    Device is assembled in one of our plant or we may decide to assemble at subcontractor location (we are still finalizing)
    The above device has 100 to 150 components and sub-components which will be produced and delivered by the sub-contractors.

    I assume your execution takes place in R/3 / ECC, right?
    Why you don't maintain the BOM, the Routing and the Production Version in R/3 / ECC and then create the PPM through the CIF? I think this is much easier.

  • Continual Consumption : Variable field in PPM from R/3

    Hi All -
    I have a multi-mixed resource and it is used in one of the operations in the PPM. I was manually creating the PPM and testing a few things and I had populated the field " Continual Consumption: Variable"
    How can this field be CIF'fed over from a production version?
    No matter what capacity/scheduling formulas I tried to use on the Work Center, the " Continual Consumption: Fixed" field gets populated in the PPM with " No of indivudual capacities"from the WC. Never the continual consumption:variable.
    What field should I mantain for this to be continual consumption :variable?

    Hi Varun,
    If you want input components to get consumed continously use feild Distrubution key in BOM. open bom and double click on component for which you need continous consumption and mention feild distrubution key.
    Only distrubution key GLEI(equal distrubution) can be CIFED to APO.
    If you are talking about continous consumption of capacities try using distrubution formula in workcenter in capacity as well as schduling tab. I am not sure about continual consumption capacity as I never used but we are using continous consumption components.

    In CFC9, you have three options for material master changes,
    Blank -- No transfer
    1 -- ALE change transfer ( periodic )
    2-- Immediate transfer
    if you are using option 1, you have to run again CFP1

  • CIF blocked .. due to planned order quantity too small

    we facing the issue of whenever planned order generated after optimizer run. if the quantity of planned order < 1 i.e 0.8pcs . It will get stuck and won't cif to R3... any solution for this ..??

    1. Your Base Unit of Measure.
    2. Any Min/Max Lot and rounding values maintained in ECC/APO.
    3. PPM/Prod Version Lot sizes defined.
    4. What is your BOM base quantity?
    Also please elaborate the issue with proper examples, for us to help you better.

  • PPM with incorrect setup group information

    Hello all,
    We have a problem with information of setup group updated in PPM.
    At the first time, the user has created the routing with the incorrect information in ECC, but when he has corrected it, the CIF PPM interface was not able to correct it in APO.
    Even when we try correct manually using transaction /SAPAPO/SCC03, we are not able to fix the information. Always, the old value of setup group is considered.

    Hello all,
    We were able to solve the problem.
    We had two setup groups with the same SETUP_ID in table /SAPAPO/SET_ID.
    In order to solve the problem we had to follow the steps:
    1.     Delete production and planned orders of related products;
    2.     Delete products' PPMs;
    3.     Delete setup groups from setup matrix;
    4.     Delete setup group;
    5.     Reactivate setup group integration model;
    6.     Reactivate PPM integration model.

    Hi ,
    In CTM I will recommend  PDS over PPM.
    You can directly CIF PDS as SNP PDS from ECC, you do not have to convert from PPDS to SNP unilke PPM.
    PDS supports VC, Phantom assemblies.
    PDS can be maintained in ECC and change transfer is easy.
    Validity period of components can be specified in the PDS , Which is not possible in PPM.
    SAP is developing PDS for future use compared to PPM.

    I've created the POS & PA for using BOMs successfully and created a PPM to test.
    My problem is I'm unsure where the quantities should be entered in the PPM. Initially I created the PPM with one output product and three input products (all requiring one unit). Now I want to change one of the input products so it requires two units to make the finished product.
    Is the Var. Consumption the correct field for the unit quantity in the PPM acitivity?
    I have updated this already.
    How do I update this to change the dependant demand in DP?

    Hey Paul,
    Assuming that your Product and Location IMods are set up fine, you will need the following additional steps to CIF across an R3 BOM and Routing to create a PPDS PPM. I'm assuming your are configuring an inhouse procurement scenario:-
    1. Create an IMOD to CIF across Resources to be used in the PPM.
    2. Create an IMOD to CIF across the PPM. You will need to mention the matrl, plant and production version in the selection conditions. Ensure that the resources IMOD is run before the PPM IMOD. Alternatively you can create a single IMOD for both resources and PPM. In that case SAP should take care of the sequence.
    3. Once your PPDS PPM is in place in APO, you can generate the SNP PPM by using the std SAP 310 job-(with or without lot sizes)
