  • Cisco Prime Inf 1.2 configuration compliance tool

Hi - working with a trial version of Cisco Prime 1.2.  I am looking for a Configuration Compliance tool.  I used it in Cisco Works LMS - but I dont see a way to do the same thing with Cisco Prime.
    Please advise.
    Thanks

PI 1.2 definitely does not include all the regulatory compliance features of LMS. Reference.
Even though the document says PI 1.2 will do baseline compliance, I haven't figured out how they expect you to do that.

    Hi ,
"SSL RC4 Cipher Suites Supported" has been documented in bug CSCum03709.
CSCum03709    PI 2.0.0.0.294 with SSH vulnerabilities
Presently, there is no workaround for this vulnerability, however, the fix will be implemented in
Prime Infrastructure 2.2.which is planned to be released around the end of this year ( tentative)

  • Cisco Prime Specific NTP Servers by Compliance Management

    Gets,
I have the following NTP servers configured on different switches
    ntp server 192.168.1.1
    ntp server 10.10.10.10 key 1
    ntp server 12.12.12.12
    ntp server 13.13.13.13 key 1
    ntp server 14.14.14.14 key 30
The correct NTP servers are only 10.10.10.10 and 192.168.1.1. The problem is that as you see, the IP addresses of the NTP servers are very generic, meaning that in my large network, I may find any other NTP server.
Can you develop a code to run by Compliance Management to exclude any unneeded NTP servers ? It is required that the code catches any IP address and any key that is not matching the first two servers.

  • Does Cisco Prime have a replacement product for NCM or Network Compliance Manager?

Does the Cisco Prime application development team have a product that replaces the NCM or Network Compliance Manager?

Both Prime and LMS can do baseline compliance, after a fashion. LMS's is much more mature in my estimation. Prime is more around the lines of deploying templates.
The regulatory compliance functions as of now are in only LMS's Compliance and Audit Manager (CAAM) function. It's quite useful, matching the baseline compliance features.
An LMS license is included with PI, but it does need to be on its own server (or separate VM).

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2 - compliance,EOL/EOS

    Hi,
Since this week I am evaluating Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2 and I have a few questions:
    - Some configuration rules are mandatory. Is it possible to run custom compliance reports with a custom baseline template? Where/how can I make a baseline template?
    - Where can I find EOL/EOS information for our devices?
    Thanks in advance,
    Marnix

    Hi Marnix,
unfortunately , you can't create custome reports in PI yet , planned for future release.
Baseline Templates are also not supported yet.
check the below link for feature support in PI:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/netmgtsw/ps6504/ps6528/ps12239/guide_c07-729089.html
You can use cisco. com and google to know the EOS/EOL of your device.

What really confused me that i tried to search server cabalitity for my requirments & Operating system and couldn't find it ...... what i need your help for is the following:

In addition to the release notes for the 4.2.3 patch noted above, please also see  the 4.2 release notes which further direct you:
    Server and Client Requirements
For information on server and client requirements for the system and browser, see Chapter 2 of Installing and Migrating to Cisco Prime LAN Management Solution 4.2 at:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/ciscoworks_lan_management_solution/4.2/install/guide/
    install.html
To summarize the options it describes, you can run the LMS product on any number of platforms - a dedicated Cisco hardware appliance, a physical server of your own with Windows or Solaris OS, a VMware server with a Windows server OS guest, or a "soft appliance". The soft appliance is package built with the underlying guest OS (a customized RHEL distribution with Cisco's Application Development Environment OS (ADE-OS)) built-in.
Once you have installed LMS 4.2, you should patch - first to 4.2.2 and then to the current 4,2,3. then run the software update feature to bring all package components up to date.
Regarding licensing, there is a Cisco Prime Infrastructure Ordering and Licensing Guide here.
When you order the licenses for PI 1.2 (new customer), you order the base product and then Lifecycle licenses (required for either PI 1.2 Lifecycle and LMS installations - which option is a customer choice) and, optionally, Compliance and Assurance licenses. An upgrade order for an existing LMS customer will include the base PI 1.2 with Lifecycle licenses as well as LMS in a single SKU as noted in tables 4 and 5 of the Ordering Guide.

  • Class Map Statistic Dashlet in Cisco Prime Inf. 2.1

    Dear All ,
I installed the demo version of Cisco Prime infra . 2.1 and I saw that there is a specific Dashlet to monitor QOS class map .
As we have some policy-map configured  , it could be very interresting.
After a day spent on Google .. I didn't found how to configure it ..  I found that Cbqos must be enabled on the switch/router
So I did it by entering the following cmd
    snmp-server ifindex persist
    snmp mib persist cbqos
But nothing .  I also deployed the Cisco monitoring template for class map statistics .
Do I need another cmd to be entered  or any other device or appliance from Cisco .. ?
    Thanks a lot
    Marc

  • Cisco Prime LMS ordering

    Hi,
I need to order WCS and LMS for a new network. But after going through the datasheet, I found it is now bundled as Cisco Prime Infrastructure. I am confused in selecting the device counts. If I need to manage 140 access points and 100 network devices, how much device license i should order for Cisco Prime infrastructure.
When i select 100 license for the part number R-PI-1.1-100-K9, i am getting 100 NCS license and 100 LMS license as included items, so for my above scenario, if i order 150 license for prime infrastructure, will it cover all 240 devices?
    Many thanks....
    Abdul Rasheeth.

Cisco Prime LMS does NOT have the WAN QoS deployment capabilities packaged up nicely the way QPM did. It does, however, offer the Auto Smartports and MediaNet work centers that aid in setting up (primarily) endpoint switch ports. See this link for more details.
I believe the best one could do with respect to MAN/WAN devices' QoS settings using LMS would be to create deployment templates and do compliance checks.

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0 release date

What is the release date for Cisco Prime Infrastructure ?  What are the improvement from 1.2 to 2.0 ?
    thanks
    Morgan

    It's currently due out 31 August 2013.
I haven't seen the final release notes but it will incorporate a lot of the features currently in LMS 4.2 for wired infrastructure management that are currently missing in PI 1.x.
I have heard it will not include Topology or template compliance reports and jobs at 2.0 - those features did not make the development cutoff date for 2.0 but they are projected for 2.1.

  • Issues with Cisco Prime LMS 4.2.3

    Hi,
I'm trailing Cisco Prime LMS 4.2.3 Soft appliance on ESXi before I deploy it into a live environment and am having some issues.
I've upgraded to version 4.2.3 and the box was working fine after the upgrade however on power it up today the Apache service will not start.
If I look at the LMS application I see this for the Apache service.
"Apache                Administrator has shut down this server   0 "
I have tried to starting it.
    CiscoLMS42/admin# application start Apache
    % Application failed to start
    CiscoLMS42/admin#
If I run an application operation debug at the same time I get the following output.
    CiscoLMS42/admin# 6 [5343]: application:operation cars_install.c[1145] [admin]: Application initialization initiated for appname: Apache, operation: 0
    7 [5343]: application:operation cars_install.c[1146] [admin]: Operations: O-APP_START, 1-APP_STOP, 2-APP_STATUS

I'm at a complete lose as to where to look next, failing anything else I'll have to rebuild it, but it would be nice to know how to get the Apache up and running again.
