Cisco SCE - TA Adapter
Hi All
I have a question here, I'm now analyzing the subscriber hourly usage volume per hour. As I know, the data Top Subscriber Report in the BB Console is collected by Topper/Aggregator (TA) Adapter inside the Collection Manager (CM) server. Could anybody help me explain in detail on how is the TA Adapter works?
Thanks very much

Hello Mohd,
This question is a bit vague. Have you read the following document?
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/cable/serv_exch/serv_control/broadband_app/rel36x/cmug/Collection_Manager_Overview.html#wp1044982
If yes, which part you think requires deeper explanation?
Cheers,
Tom

What the problem could be?I have tried 3.7.2, 3.8.5, 4.0.0. Unfortunately, the result is the same. I think that hardware problem (RAM).

Hi All,
We are using Cisco SPA 112 adapter and it is having 2 lines,I configured both of the lines.
There is no issue in line 1 but line 2 is automatically went to disable mode. After that i have to manually enabled that option.
Please help me to fix this issueDan, i will see how it goes over the next week or so with the updated F/W & shall report back, and thanks for the link as i wasnt sure how to save a syslog.
Should i set the verb as high as 6, or is that an over kill.
Gabriel, I have an FTP running on my sat receiver which i will attempt to use to catch the log, but as for the the "sipgate registration", when i loose conection my ata reports its still registered & the sipgate URL, isnt in real time as far as i can tell.
My ata would have normally shown its fault since my first post 6 days ago, but unfortunately a recent power cut has reset my testing period back to 1 day. -
I am trying to figure out how to retrieve the output of the comannd "show party all-names" via SNMP.
Does anybody have some suggested OID strings I could try?
here is my sh ver:

The lwapp APs are not snmp-manageable but the controllers takes care of that. You can poll the WLC via SNMP and it will give you the radio status of all the APs.
I suggest using the Cisco MIB browser tool to find out more about the AIRESPACE mib that the WLC is using.

802.11n (CISCO?) client adapter
Hello,
after the release of the 1250AP, I was wondering if the 802.11n compatible client adapters were planed or close to release, and if anyone had an information about that.
I was also wondering if this AP had any particular CISCO features (like there was in some previous versions) that could require such an adapter to work properly?
Regards,
LaurentCisco's 1250 series APs have been selected as the test hardware for all 802.11n Draft 2.0 client adapters. That means that for any Draft 2.0 compliant hardware to be certified, it must inter-operate with the 1250 series AP. There are some additional features that Cisco makes availible to client adapters (CCX, for example), but any Draft 2.0 certified client adapter should work with the 1250 without any problem, regardless of CCX version support.
Below is from the Cisco Aironet 1250 Series Access Point Q&A:
Q. What is the status of the Draft 802.11n version 2.0 standard?
A. The IEEE 802.11n working group has passed letter ballot, and this is what is known as 802.11 Draft 2.0. Subsequently, the Wi-Fi Alliance commenced compatibility testing in June 2007 to ensure interoperability of products adhering to the 802.11n draft 2.0 standard. The Cisco Aironet 1250 Series Access Point was selected as the reference platform for the Wi-Fi Alliance test bed. All products receiving Wi-Fi Alliance draft 2.0 certification must be tested with the Cisco Aironet 1250 Series Access Point.

We need to estimate the length (bytes) of RDRs generated by SCE.
In particular we are interested in the following RDR types:
- HTTP Transaction Usage RDR
- Transaction Usage RDR
- Subscriber Usage RDR
Any suggestion is appreciated.
Thanks,
Marco and FabrizioThe RDR lenghts would vary but you can take a look at this link to confirm the size of each field.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6135/products_technical_reference_chapter09186a00808484a7.html
You will see lengths as :
INT32 : 32 bit integer
INT16 : 16 bit integer
STRING : Variable string length ( I believe it is 256 characters)
Basically they are the same types as you would find in a database.
Hope this helps.

CISCO CSS 11503: Adaptive Session Redundancy + Resets
Hi
we have release 7.10.206a configured with SourceGroup and ASR. I made a sniffer trace and experienced that the CSS sends a lot of RST. As well I saw that it use only 1984 source ports for the connections to the server. How can I increase the number of source Ports? .In the attachments you will find the sniffer trace with the incorrect behaviour and the configuration.
Any suggestion, idea ?the problem of the RST seems to be the frequent reuse of the same source port.
The destination of this connection seems to be confused and ACK the new SYN with the ack number of the previous connection. This ack number is out of range from the syn sequence number so the result if a RST.
ie:
Flow1 - Syn -> packet 1
Flow1 - Last ACK -> packet 33
Flow 2 - syn -> packet 34
Flow 2 - ack (instead of syn/ack) with acknumber same is packet 33.
This triggers a RESET -> packet 36
Flow 3 - syn -> packet 55
Flow 3 - same as flow 2 issue, ack with old ack number. This triggers a RST (packet 57).
Now the 2nd issue, the CSS (I believe tpkg0x.post.ch is the CSS) sends packet for flow 2 but the end station believes flow 2 was killed with the RESET of flow 3 and the host sends a RST to the CSS (packet 59) because its connection does not exist anymore.
So the all issue is the fact that ports are being reused to quickly.
You will need to involve more people to find a workaround to the 1984 ports available [and be aware they are available but not all usable].
Work with Marco K., your sale support.

Cisco USB adapter to Virgin HUB?
I am thinking about upgrading to a faster fiber optic broadband offered by Virgin Media. This new set up will involve a combined modem and router known as the Virgin HUB. However I currently have a seperate virgin modem connected to a Cisco Router. To connect to this router wirelessly I am using Cisco USB WIFI adapter.
The question is, if I know longer have a cisco router, will my Cisco USB adapter be able to connect to a non Cisco routers?
Thanks
Solved!
Go to Solution.Technically it should. As long as the router is wireless capable, it should connect.

Cisco VPN client install fails with Error 1722 on Windows 7
Hi,
I am having issues with laptops upgraded from Vista to Windows 7.
Prior to the upgrade they are running Cisco VPN Client 5.0.05.0290. These laptops also have Juniper Network Connect 6.5 and Citrix web client installed. The windows upgrade advisor made no recommendations regarding uninstalling / reinstalling these apps.
I have done an inplace upgade to Windows 7 (Windows Vista Enterprise 32bit to Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit) and after the install the Cisco client is not working. Uninstalled the client (the uninstall was successful) then reinstalled and the installation fails at Installing Cisco Systems Virtual Adapter - error 1722 there was a problem with the windows installer package.
I have followed the steps for a manual uninstall of the Cisco client and then tried the install again - still not successful. Interestingly (or not) the Juniper Network Connect also fails with the error The Network Connect Virtual adapter driver is not installed properly. This also fails to reinstall after being removed.
I tried removing the VPN clients on another laptop and then running the upgrade but the same errors occured when reinstalling the VPN Client. I have tried the Winfix and DNE patch from Citrix but these fail saying there is a corruption in the application.
On another laptop where only the Cisco VPN client was installed a reinstall was required after the upgrade, but it did install successfully.
On a clean image these applications all install fine, however I have a large number of laptops do upgrade and don't want to do a fresh install and settings migration on all of them.
What files / registry entrys are involved with the DNE adapter so I can manually clear it all out before reinstalling?
Anything else I can do to troubleshoot this issue?
Cheers,
JamesYou should be able to install the 64 bit version of the Cisco VPN software
Latest version is vpnclient-winx64-msi-5.0.07.0440-k9.exe
You should download and run MCPR.exe first, to clean out any traces of McAfee products that conflict with Cisco VPN.
http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe
If there is a problem with vbscript registration on the system - there is a fixit tool from Microsoft for that:
MicrosoftFixit50842.msi
(Using Shrew VPN is a possible workaround.) -
Hi,
may i know any one working in cognitive radio research and applying machine learning techniques using the spectrum data collected from NI usrp kitsCan't edit my message anymore, so for the tldr crowd (too long didn't read), here is a shorter version:
The good:
E4200 worked fine for about 15 hours with great throughput and link quality (with one brief disconnect in the middle - online gaming software shows brief disconnects that otherwise go totally unnoticed).
The bad:
Wireless on the E4200 stopped broadcasting entirely (to a Windows 7 laptop with a 802.11n 2.4 GHZ USB adapter).
I had switched between two adapters that use the same chipset, same driver and in fact show up as a single device in device manager) without rebooting the router but it worked (fine) for an hour after I swapped the adapters.
Right before I rebooted it, I checked and the E4200 was not hot to the touch and wired internet was still working after the wireless radio stopped working.
A reboot of the router cured it.
The open question as to the root cause:
Now I want to know whether this wireless radio ceasing to broadcast (requires a reboot of the E4200) will happen daily?
I.e. I want to know whether it it really is overheating (then again why would only some have that problem needing to reboot daily while others have gone weeks with the E4200 without a single reboot being needed and without any problems occurring) or whether it had to do with changing the adapters back and forth without rebooting the router. Keep in mind that the router worked fine for an hour or so after I stopped swapping the adapters.
Extra question:
Will getting a Cisco AE1000 USB adapter perhaps help? (I know this is a loaded question and their is no easy / sure answer, but even a "maybe" or reasons why it might help at this point would be better than nothing.
Any similar experiences (with the router needing to be rebooted to get wireless radio back on) would be appreciated as it may help myself and others experiencing these types of issues. -

and assigned to a create a same identity group. I am not able to see device profiled according to identity group assigned. Instead of it its always assigned to "cisco - device" group.
On cisco switch side, i am seeing device being in data domain instead of voice domain, but strange enough its getting ip address from voice dhcp pool. If dot1x configs are not applied on port device is getting ip address from voice vlan and working fine.
Any suggestion for this case? Can you post a screenshot of the custom profiling policy that you configured?
Also, what version of code do you run on the switch and ISE -
Can I set up a win2k 802.1x client authentication (win2k OS) using a cisco 350 aironet adapter via a roamabout r2 AP and get authenticated with a cisco ACS 3.0 radius server without having a win2k active directory domains ( i guess without using certificates)? I'm currently still using NT domains and having a WinNT PDC which I believe it will be a hassle to migrate win2k. If so, are there any documentation out there that can help me?

Cisco VPN Client Version 5.0.07.0440
Upgraded to windows 8.1 and now cisco VPN not working
Error message
'SECURE VPN CONNECTION TERMINATED LOCALLY BY THE CLIENT
REASON 440: DRIVER FAILURE
Any help to resolve this would be appreciated. Thank youThe Cisco VPN tends to have compatibility issues in Windows 8 & 8.1. You need to apply a small workaround as explained below –
1. Open Registry editor by typing regedit in Run prompt
2. Browse to the Registry Key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\Services\\CVirtA
3. Select the DisplayName to modify, and remove the leading characters from the value
data upto "%;" i.e.
- For x86, change the value data from something like "@oem8.inf,%CVirtA_Desc%;Cisco Systems
VPN Adapter” to "Cisco Systems VPN Adapter”
- For x64, change the value data from something like "@oem8.inf,%CVirtA_Desc%;Cisco
Systems VPN Adapter for 64-bit Windows” to "Cisco Systems VPN Adapter for 64-bit Windows”
- Try connecting again
Hope this will help.
