Cjq0 lock any job operation with enq: JS - queue lock

Hi to all,
During working on develpment project I faced with strange scheduler trouble.
After some event cjq0 is hang and prevent any jobs to run. Besides it's lock any trying of disabe/enable/create/drop any jobs/windows and etc. But it allows to run jobs using dbms_scheduler.run_job. The same situation with dbms_job package.
First of all I tried to restart job coordinator with using:
alter system set job_queue_processes=0;
!kill -9 <OS process>
alter system set job_queue_processes=10;
But no results. I mean that cjq0 is back and hang again.
It is came back to normal only after full db bounce.
I am confused. There is no any errors in alert log.
Does someone faced with such problem?
P.S. 10.2.0.1Enterpise / RHEL 5 64bit
Thanks,
Anton

    Hi All,
    We have a custom report ( customer update )which is scheduled to run in the background. In the production system, the job gets cancelled and when we check the log We have the following messages:

    Enqeue and deqeue have been taken care correctly.
    This problem is reported recently...before that it was working fine.
    Have checked SM12, there is no lock. While debugging this error is not reported.
    Now please let me know how to know the cause of the error.

    Hi Immanuel,
    I tried opening the customer which I am trying to update in the change mode and then tried debugging the job then it gives me an error message at the bottom of the screen, in this case when I go check there is a lock in SM12.
    But my problem is I get this message in the job log and not at the bottom of the screen because of this message(error) the job gets cancelled. Also there is no lock in SM12 in this case and while debugging also I am not getting this message anywhere....
    This type of lock is called homogenous lock....but I donno how to trace this error .....

    Any advice will be greately appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    In addition to run the script , also download and run Snapper script from Tanel Poder which would give even more detail for the session .

  • Enq: TX - row lock contention in AWR reports

    Dears,
    One of my friends asked me to give him a help on analyzing a performance problem they are experimenting from time to time. First of all I am sorry to tell you that he didn’t gave me a lot of information. I will share with you all what I have been sent and would like to have your precious advice according to the available information.
    It is a third party software installed on oracle data base 10.2.0.4.0. He said that from time to time the application hangs. He sends me an AWR reports supplied by the local DBA. Unfortunately, the local DBA send only the AWR information he thinks are most important to be looked at (he did not include the load profile and the instance efficiency Percentages part in this AWR for example).
    Here below is the available information I can share with you

    db file scattered read          1,885   49           26               .2               User I/OThe AWR reports presents also the following SQL statement as the top SQL of its ‘’SQL ordered by Elapsed Time’’ part
    UPDATE xxxx.table1
       SET col1 = :1,
           col2 = :2,
           col3 = :3,
           col4 = :4,
    WHERE ID = :13
    AND colx  = :14;And the following sql at its “SQL ordered by Reads’ part
    SELECT t1.*
    FROM xxxx.table1 t1
      LEFT OUTER JOIN xxxx.table2 t2
           ON t1.id = t2.id
      LEFT OUTER JOIN xxxx.table3 t3
           ON t1.id = t3.id
      LEFT OUTER JOIN xxxx.table4 t4
           ON t1.id = t4.id
    WHERE t1.col1 = :1
    AND   t1.col2 IN (:2,:3, :4);And finally in the Segments by Row Lock Waits part of the AWR I have this:
    Owner      tablespace name    object name   object type   row lock waits   %of capture
    xxxx          xxxx          table1         TABLE          54       100    There are no bitmap indexes on this OLTP data base. There are no unindexed foreign keys and it seems that there are no selects done over a dblink.
    I am waiting to have the table table1 script and its indexes
    Given those information I think that the locking problem is due to this update on table table1 which is not followed immediately by a commit or a rollback. But, instead, several selects that might be taking a long time are done before reaching the commit that ends the lock on the table table1
    What do you think about the possible reason of this lock?
    Thanks in advance

  • Enq: TX - row lock contention in TOP 5 wait event

    I am having enq: TX - row lock contention in top 5 wait event.
    AWR analyze period - 9-10(pm). During this time only one sql loader is running to insert the data. No other job are running. So there is no chance of other session blocking this session. is there any chance of row lock contention happen by same session.

    INDEX_NAME INDEX_TYPE UNIQUENES

    Thanks.

    SQL> SELECT INDEX_NAME,INDEX_TYPE,UNIQUENESS FROM DBA_INDEXES WHERE TABLE_NAME='DATA_DATA';
    INDEX_NAME INDEX_TYPE UNIQUENES
    CIDX BITMAP NONUNIQUE
    VIDX BITMAP NONUNIQUEYou have bitmap indexes here on a table being inserted into. Bitmap Indexes are another source of lock(and deadlock) in OLTP application. You said that the SQLloader was the unique active program but may be you are also triggering another procedure after the load. Procedure in which you might be using also automomous transactions and so on...
    Check first if your table is subject to DML operation in a a multi-user concurrent accesss and in which case you have to get rid of those bitmap indexes

  • Problem in lock Sales order create with BAPI BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2

    Hi All,
    i have the z program to create the sales order with reff  quotation in SD With BAPI BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2.
    this program will  excute every 30 mins .
    Problem: Some times if i excute the program in background it is taking morethan 30mins so second batch excution also gets starting to create the sales order for same quotation then it is creating 2 sales orders at atime with 1 quotation.
    here i am getting duplicate sales orders so i want to lock the creation of duplicate sales order.

    Some solutions
    - Just lock (ENQUEUE) any object at the start of the job(*), if not locked, you can exit or wait in a loop, will be released at end of job (use a _SCOPE '3' so commit work wont release the lock)
    -> This will insure the job runs only once at a time
    - Lock the quotation before calling the BAPI, will be released by the COMMIT_WORK (from where do you fetch the quotation, if it is a customer Z_table, you can use the lock object that you have surely created ?) (use a _scope '2')
    -> This will insure that at most one job will convert a quotation (i suppose you set a "done" flag or status  in the quotation record)
    Read [SAP Locks |http://help.sap.com/abapdocu_70/en/ABENSAP_LOCK.htm] if you are not familiar with the concept of lock in SAP.

    Oracle does not and cannot tell you from historical views (e.g. AWR) which DMLs have not COMMITed or ROLLBACKed. A Transaction ends with a COMMIT or ROLLBACK.  The transaction could have a million (or more) DML statements with a million (or more) SELECT statements between the first DML and the COMMIT / ROLLBACK.
    Even identifying such DMLs in real time is close to impossible.  Because the session holding the lock may have issued  a dozen or a million subsequent SQL statements while other sessions are waiting for the lock.  You can only identify the session that is the lock holder (the BLOCKING_SESSION in V$SESSION).
    If you have tracing enabled for all sessions, then you could review the trace file for the BLOCKING_SESSION to identify the DML(s) the session has executed.

    This application is inbuit with some modules VB (cath ,cardio)and oracle forms for required sequence number generation different time used this procedure whereever required the sequence Prefix generation.If i replace the procedure sequene to oracle standard sequency if the user cannot save the form unnessary sequency generated order is missing from sequence.

  • Job Cancelled with an error "Data does not match the job def: Job terminat"

    Dear Friends,
    The following job is with respect to an inbound interface that transfers data into SAP.
    The file mist.txt is picked from the /FI/in directory of the application server and is moved to the /FI/work directory of application server for processing. Once the program ends up without any error, the file is moved to /FI/archive directory.
    The below are the steps listed in job log, no spool is generated for this job and it ended up with an error "Data does not match the job definition; job terminated".Please see below for more info.

    As well I heard that because of the customization issues in T.Code BMV0, the above error has raised.
    Also please note that we can define as well schedule jobs from the above transaction and the corresponding data is stored in the table TBICU
    My Trials
    1. Tested uplaoding an empty file
    2. Tested uploading with wrong data
    3. Tested uploading with improper data that has false file structue
    But failed to simulate the above scenario.
    Clarification Required
    Assume that I have defined a job using BMV0. Is that mandatory to use the same job in SM37/SM36 for scheduling?
    Is the above question valid?

  • SSMS 2012:XQuery-doing "Retriving Job Candidates with the query Method" in AdventuresWorks 2012. Unclosed quotation mark after string '//*:Name.First?

    Hi all,
    From Page 354 of the the Book "Pro T-SQL 2008 Programmer's Guide" written by Michael Coles (published by apress), I copied the following code (Listing 12-9 Retrieving Job Candidates with the query Method):
    --Coles12_9.sql // saved in C:/Documemnts/SQL Server Management Studio
    -- Coles Listing 12-9 Retrieving Job Candidates with the query Method
    -- Doing XQuery and the xml Data Type in AdvantureWorks
    -- 17 March 2015 1105 AM
    USE AdventureWorks;
    GO
    SELECT Resume.query
    N'//*:Name.First,
    //*:Name.Middle,
    //*:Name.Last,
    //*:Edu.Level
    FROM HumanResources.JobCandidate;
    I executed this set of Listing 12-9 code in my SQL Server 2012 Management Studio and I got the following error messages:
    Msg 105, Level 15, State 1, Line 4
    Unclosed quotation mark after the character string '//*:Name.First,
    //*:Name.Middle,
    //*:Name.Last,
    //*:Edu.Level
    FROM HumanResources.JobCandidate;
    Msg 102, Level 15, State 1, Line 4
    Incorrect syntax near '//*:Name.First,
    //*:Name.Middle,
    //*:Name.Last,
    //*:Edu.Level
    FROM HumanResources.JobCandidate;
    I am not able to figure out why I got the error messages.  Please kindly help and advise me how to correct this set of sql codes.
    Thanks in advance,
    Scott Chang

    Hi Scott,
    I don't have that book at hand, but your problem is the "Unclosed quotationmark after the character string",as the error message shows. You have to enclose the 'XQUERY' string quotation in the
    query().
    SELECT jobcandidateid, Resume.query
    N'//*:resume,
    //*:Name.Middle,
    //*:Name.Last,
    //*:Edu.Level' --enclose the quotation here
    FROM HumanResources.JobCandidate;
    For XQUERY learning, here is a good
    link.
    If you have any question, feel free to let me know.

  • How do you carry out an event if a job finishes with a return code 4?

    Hi
    A job which would complete successfully in SAP via the SM36 scheduler completes with an 'Error' in Redwood CPS because there are errors within the spool and it ends with a return code 4.
    We don't want this to error in Redwood CPS, so we have set the return code mapping to Completed with entries of 0 and 4.
    I.e. whether or not there is an error in the spool, the job will complete successfully in Redwood CPS.
    However, we want to be alerted if there are errors in the spool.
    How do we do this? The manual says "A job can raise one or more events when the job gets a specific job status or return code" - where is this set? I can see on the 'Event' tab of a job definition you can raise an Event when the job enters a specific status, but I only want to raise an event (or carry out a step / send an email etc) if I get a return code 4 (none of the job statuses are relevant) - how can I do this?
    Thanks
    Ross

    Hi Anton
    Thanks for that. However, it's a bit more complicated...
    I have a job chain with 2 steps. Any one of the two steps can have an error in the spool which by default in Redwood CPS result in the job ending in status Error. I don't want this, as the second step should still run if the first step ran okay with with errors in the spool (but shouldn't run at all if the 1st step fails completely). I.e. setting 'on Error goto step 2' or having no dependancy at all is not what we want.
    Therefore, I set the return code mapping on Completed to return codes 0 and 4. I.e. if step 1 has an error in the spool (return code 4) it still ends as 'Completed' and step 2 runs.
    Our problem is that we want to be alerted if there is a return code 4 (error in the spool). I tried as you suggested by entering on the 'Raise Event' tab of the job chain to raise an event on status 'Error' with a return code of 4. But no event was raised. I think this is because the return code mapping is setting the status to 'Completed' (on return code 0 or 4) BEFORE the software checks the status; i.e. the status is actually 'Completed' (rc=4) and not 'Error' (rc=4) so an event is not raised.
    Ideally I want to set the Event to be raised on status 'Completed' with a return code 4 - but when I select 'Completed' the 'Error Code' box is greyed out.
    I.e. can't set this - I can only set on a generic 'Completed' and I don't want to raise a message if the status is Completed but the return code is 0....
    Any ideas??
    Ross
