Clarifying my question from last pm, re: how do I get LR to stop applying post-crop vignette at time of import to all my photos?
I work on a Mac, shoot in raw, and download directly to hard drive from my camera. I then import images into Lightroom using the "copy" function. For some reason, Lightroom is systematically applying a post-crop vignette to my photos, I am unable to turn it off. Happens regardless of lens I shoot with. Can anyone advise how to change this? I have tried re-setting the vignette to zero before importing, but that does nothing. Regards, Barb in Virginia
Go to Preferences and reset your Default Develop Settings if you want to reset for ALL cameras and file types.
If you want to reset the default for a single camera, in Develop you can hold the Alt key and the "reset" button will change to "set default". The following dialog will appear. Click "Restore adobe default settings"
You should then not have vignette being applied.

This can be caused by Facebook gadgets. You can try removing Facebook gadgets until you find the culprit. I have seen reports of various gadgets causing this such as Ginga, Facebook for iGoogle, Deal of the Day and Smiley

Every time I updated Firefox to something higher than 3.xxx, each time I open the browser, "Welcome to Firefox" and my home page opens up. How do I get "Welcome to Firefox" to stop opening? Also...all the colors are missing on the menu bar. All the text is white............Bill

My iPhone is (seemingly randomly) deleting songs from my playlists. How do I get it to stop?
I don't know why it's happening, but it's really annoying. My first one was a 3GS, and I had made a playlist for all the songs in one CD, because i'd gotten a single and then the rest of the CD once it actually came out, and even though iTunes counted the single in completing the album they wouldn't play together without the other albums by the artist. It would work fine while i was listening to it, and then when i would leave Music for a while, usually at most a day, some of the songs would be missing! They weren't in much of an order, and both times i paid much attention to whether they were the same, a couple of songs had vanished one time and not the other, so it wasn't the same songs leaving the playlist every time. Now I'm on a 4S, and it's doing the same thing with a different playlist, which has my Purchased songs and one other one.. Both times it's done it there have only been 3 songs left, the first one the same and i think the second one, and the third one different. Normally there are 8 songs in the playlist. The first time, it was only one day after i made the playlist, and the second time it was a few days after i repaired the playlist. Both playlists mentioned were made on my iPhone, not in iTunes.
My phone is not 100% up to date, there was a new update since November, and I don't know if there's a fix there, but I don't want to download the update in case I have to put my songs back on my phone, because some of my favorites have stopped working properly in iTunes. If anyone knows a) whether the update(s) have a fix for this, or b) whether songs I've bought since the Cloud became a thing will be damaged on my iPhone if they're damaged in iTunes, I would appreciate it.Turn off repeat.

You can't even delete from the server in mountain lion.... I did it from my old mac, but it didn't work. I keep having 11,000 new emails that can not even be deleted in blocks!!!

How do I get Firefox to stop opening a new tab every time I hit "print preview" of an email?
The tab and various favorite sites open right on top of the print screen window, blocking the print screen window so that I have to x out the tab to print my email.

i keep getting banner that there is 8 apps to be updated, when i go to the App Store it says all app are updated, how do i get this to stop?
It seems that every time I start up the IPad the banner over ITunes shows 8 or more in the banner. I have completly signed off of the ipad and it still comes up. Any suggestions? It seems to have coincided with IOS 7 being released, I have not downloaded IOS 7 to my IPad or my Iphone at this time.I"m not sure exactly what to do because once I got mine sorted out I can't exactly replicate it to test it, but it's like somehow your ID gets messed up.
I tried to download an app, then Apple thought that I'd never bought anything from my device so went through the whole 'give your secret questions' thing and ended up having to call apple to get them to reset.
Long story short, the inability to update has something to do with the App Store not recognizing your device, even though part of it does recognize your device (which is why you get the little badges)
You could try downloading a free app and see if you can verify your ID. Or you can poke around in here

and see if you can manage your account and see if that helps. -

Do you have a backup of your iPhone which contains these messages?
If so, you can restore a new iPhone from that backup during setup.
If not, the messages are gone. -

every time i get on my computer and click on imessage and facetime a little box pops up saying an internal messages error occurred or an internal facetime error occurred....but my question is how do i get it to stop doing this or how to stop it.
For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now. They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.

I dropped my macbook yesterday and it turned itself off. When I tried to turn it back on all I got was a white/gray screen with a flash folder with a ? in the middle of it? What does this mean and how do I get it to stop so I can log onto my laptop?Deev
Normally the question mark on the gray screen means it can't find the operating system. Have you tried booting up from the installation DVD? Do that, and when you come to the screen where it wants to begin a system installation you'll notice in the menubar where it say's utilites. Click on that and choose disk utility. from there choose your disk and try to verify and repair the disk. If you can you may want to also try and new install of the system. I don't know how much critical data you have, but reinstalling is an option. did you purcahse you from an Apple store? If you did you may want them to look at it. Hope this helps.

The iOS5 upgrade for the iphone allowed network operators to control the availability of the 'personal hotspot' feature. If your operator is one of those who charge extra for tethering (and most do) then by upgrading to ios5 you've facilitated them to remove the option for you.
Apple bowed to the demands of the opertators on this one.
I am with Tesco(O2) and as soon as I upgraded to ios5 I lost the 'personal hotspot' option.
I have the last laugh though; They cant control my Android phone so I put the Tesco mobile sim into that when I want to use tethering.
Get an Android phone or if you're in the UK use Three mobile who allow tethering.
