Classic Letter template issue

I live and work in the United Kingdom.
MacBook Pro running 10.8.4.
Pages 09 version 4.3 (1048).
British English is set at the top of the list in System Preferences-->Language & Text-->Language.
System Preferences-->Language & Text-->Region is set to United Kingdom.
Contacts-->Card-->Go to My Card does what it says. My name and address details are correct. Specifically note that my home address field is set to United Kingdom Address Format.
Open new document from Pages-->File-->New from Template Chooser...-->Classic Letter.
Most of the sender fields are not populated correctly. Specifically, ...

where "A" or "a" is correctly populated. Even dragging my address card from contacts over the sender fields does not fix this. I confirm that Pages-->Text Inspector-->More-->Language is set to British English. I do notice however that the merge fields do seem wrong to me. For example, Pages-->Link Inspector-->Merge-->Home State=Home State and there is an -->Home Zip. In the UK we have Home County and Home Postcode.
How do I fix this?

(Would an admin remove my post of 8-Sep-2013 12:20 please. It was an attempt to respond to everyone so I put a placeholder then when I finished editing I could not post it as I think the editing time period expired)

Same pre-conditions as my original post then ...
     ... Open new document from Pages-->File-->New from Template Chooser...-->Classic Letter.
In my case, the sender fields are incorrectly filled as originally described.
Then go to contacts and select Contacts-->Card-->Go To My Card and export it to the desktop by Contacts-->File-->Export-->Export vCard. Drag the resulting vCard over the open Classic Letter documents sender fields.
Result
The sender field is now correctly populated.
I do not understand this result. Has anyone been able to reproduce my results and is there a proper fix instead of this workaround?
ps: Correction to my second post. I said "The issue must be something to do with the way contact addresses (specifically My Card in this case) have been filled it. Could it be that many addresses in the UK have six lines not five? My own (My Card) address follows the pattern ...". I have discovered that the address in My Card is as follows ...

Hi every one,
I mapped the fields for the dunning letter report in RTF file.
I have an issue when i work into dunning letter template for xml report.
My Client wants to run the dunning letter by choosing the different languages before they run the concurrent program.
I dont knw where to write xml coding to make this report for mutiple languages and you please could any one knw the answer step by step.
please drop the solutions immediately and its very urgent.

Set the language preference on the customer site on the "Characteristics" tab, then when the program "Dunning Letter Print from Dunning Letter Generate" runs you will have a separate output for each language. Then run each output through the "XML Report Publisher" program and choose which XML template to run.

No, it doesn't matter how long i wait, for so far i can see i don't have any of such an progress bar after importing
an file. However, it's a short clip. When i wait longer is doesn't make a difference.

I've already copied the SD card to the internal, first hard disk !
When i import via the media browser it don't make a difference unfortunately ;(

Email Alert Template Issue - List Alerts (Alert Me) emails not using customized XML alert template

We have recently customized the XML alerts template (AlertTemplates.xml) for our site collection in SharePoint 2010 to exclude specific fields in the email when users who have subscribed using the "Alert Me" feature. We have renamed the
custom alerts XML file and loaded the custom template in the following directory (%ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web server extensions\14\TEMPLATE\XML) and restarted IIS. Once users subscribe to the alerts using the list "alert me"
function they received the customized email as intended.
We needed to auto-subscribe users to the email alerts so what we did was use a powershell script to add users to the alert subscriptions using the script shown below:

When we ran the script and added the users and restarted the service, all users who were auto-subscribed via this method get the email without the customizations that were done in teh custom alert template. All users who manually subscribed on their
own to the list using the "Alert Me" function would get the customized email.
Does anyone know why users who manually subscribe to the alerts get the customized email, and users who were auto-subscribed using the powershell script do not get the customized email and get the standard generic email template?

According to your code, it create a new alert using SPUser.Alerts.Add() method. For this method, it will create a new alert based on the predefined alert template by default.
If you only assigned the custom alert template to the list, users who manually subscribe to the alerts get the customized email, but users who were auto-subscribed using the PowerShell script get the standard
generic email template.
For your issue, you can set the new alert ‘s alert template:

How do I turn the page color white in the Classic Text template?

I have a book set up in the format of the Classic Text template in iBooks Author. The pages are light beige in color and I want a white background for each page. How can I get rid of the beige color background on the pages?

Its usually OK to have objects unlocked, but it can have unexpected results!   If all objects are unlocked, and when wanting to delete one - any object selected accidentally - will be deleted also... and if its a text box that was not on view coz you had an image being moved... you may not notice till it to plate to undo it back in place.
Now that you know how to remove that background image, dont forget   you can also leave it make it white or any colour or no fill and lock it again. Its also possible to drop an image into it to use as a background.
The real secret of messing about with template, is the lock / unlock followed by the abililty in ARRANGE to move object above or below each other in the stack.
Each image or text box you open crates its own layer. Imagine a layer as a sheet of glass if you have a different image on each... when you look you see them all - but if one image overlaps and blanks out another, you can shift it up or down to make everything OK,   thats layers!
In the template, if you add or change anything you need to check one thing...Open the Inspector, second icon from the left " Layout and Numbering" select Layout - at the bottom is "Layout Object"   if you do not tick that box,   whatever you changed in the template cannot be edited - conversely, if you dont want to move it or open it again... ignore this check box.
Creating your own templates with colours and placeholders for text and images is really quite easy... it just seems difficult.. Kids face the same conundrum when they try to learn how to ride a bike!

Serial letter Templates from the Intranet

By now our customer has its serial letter Templates (Word) on a volume in LAN.
Since this volume will be deinstalled, the customer wants to store these templates in Intranet in the future (on some sharepoint volume).
By now (SAP R/3 Release 4.7) this does not work. The word files cannot be opened.
Is the reason for this that there has to be installed another GUI or does the problem go deeper?
Technically spoken:
I debugged the problem down to a method
cl_gui_frontend_services=>DIRECTORY_LIST_FILE
In there an attribute www_active is tested. Since it is not set by now, a further access to the internet location is not possible.
I am not sure, if I am in the correct forum. If so: what other forum would you suggest to be better for this theme?

Modify Letter Templates

In trying to modify a letter template in contract manager we get the following error:
Automation Server can't create object. MS-Word must be installed on the system. Also, configure browser to run activex controls.
all troubleshooting looks as if ActiveX is set up correctly. Even tried the "enable for scripts marked as not safe" that is all over the net ... didn't work, so i changed it back. out of ideas.
any help will be greatly appreciated.

Does IIS Reset stop/start or IIS Restart fix template issues? See photos.

I have been having major template issues over the past couple of weeks where several templates give me access denied. I have been in contact with Microsoft about the issue, but after 2 days and 5 hours on the phone, the issue still cannot be resolved.
I then tried to use old sites that had the templates and "Save Site as Template". The new template that was saved are stored in the Solutions Gallery (template is "activated").
I ran the create new site process and chose the new template that I saved.
The template looked like this last week,
Now the template looks like this today.
In between last week and this week, I did an SP2 installation to Project Server 2010/SharePoint 2010.
I also did an IIS Reset /stop and IIS reset/ start
I also went into the IIS Manager on the central administration server and clicked "Restart".
This is a very time sensitive issue, and want to know how I accidentally resolved the issue. It's very weird that any of these above would change the template, but somehow it did. I do not want to reset IIS if I do not have to. If anyone has any idea on
how this could have gotten resolved it would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if iisreset always fixes this issue.
Sorry for my misleading description, I thought that there was a possiable that some js/css files weren't loaded in the browser randomly for new site created based on the template, so I think maybe some js/css files customized
and referenced in the orginal site (or in new site) may need to be checked-in and published.
Now I think is it possible that the issue is related to js/css load sequence in browser? or is it browser compatible issue(maybe not based on iisreset)?
Or you may try add new site in trusted site in IE see if it helps.
Also check if browser F12 developer tool could provide some useful information.

Missing Classic Administrative Templates

Hi, after migrating from windows server 2003 to windows 2008 R2, I have lost the ability to edit GPO settings related to the Classic Administrative Templates. How can I get Classic Administrative Templates back into all of my existing policies?

Hi,
When you browse to C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions, do you see a list of ADMX files? Those are the templates (The ADML files
are just strings in a specific language to support the ADMX files). Any ADMX file that is stored in this folder will be loaded automatically and does not need to be added through the user interface.
Also, check to see if you are using a central store - this is indicated in the console after the 'Administrative Templates' string
in parentheses. If this indicates that you are using a central store (rather than local policy templates), you have to make sure that the ADMX files are present in this location: \\domain\sysvol\domain\policies\PolicyDefinitions.

Hi Guy, thank you for your response. yes there are 156 ADMX files in
C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions, however, when I choose Add/Remove Template and choose Add, and then browse to C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions, it
does not list any files at all. Just an empty window with the folder en-US. But I suppose these cannot be added, since they're supposed to have loaded automatically as you suggest.
it looks like I AM using centrally stored policies and there are 15 ADMX files inside the domain's sysvol PolicyDefinitions folder.
Unfortunately, when I create a new GPO it does not list Windows Component under Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\ at all. Should I copy something over from C:\windows\policydefinitions
to the domain's sysvol PolicyDefinitions folder?
Any suggestions?

AR Statement /Dunning Letter Report Issue

Hi Guys,
I have an issue in the Customer statement report in XMLP. There are two Concurrent Program for this Print Statement (i.e; Print Statement and Statement Generate Program) Here Print Statement runs with respect to the ARXSGPO.rdf file and Statement Generate Program runs with respect to the spawned program.
I followed the following steps to view the output in PDF using XMLP.
1. I used ARXSGPO.rdf which is from "Print Statement" Concurrent Program.
2. I have given the exact short name(ARXSGPO) of Print Statement to the Defination and Template also attachment in XMLP responsibility.
3. When i see the output after both parent (Print Statement) and child(Statement Generate Program) completed successfully. I can able to see the output only in XML format. Obvisouly it should display in PDF format right?..
Do we need any other steps to go through to achieve this AR statement report. Same issue i have with the Dunning letter report. Please drive me if any one already worked for these two reports in xmlp.

Dunning Letter template problem

Hi,
I've started using dunning letters but have a problem with a discrepency between the data that appears on my screen in the recommendation report (i.e the list of invoices being dunned) and the actual printed letter..
For example on screen I can see the list of invoices for a particular customer like this:

50847 / 14.01.2009
50874 / 20.01.2009
50902 / 22.01.2009
51014 / 05.02.2009
50944 / 30.01.2009
51149 / 27.02.2009
But the print out shows:
50847 / 14.01.2009
50874 / 20.01.2009
50902 / 22.01.2009
51014 / 30.01.2009
50944 / 05.02.2009
51149 / 27.02.2009
Subtle difference but the dates of lines 4&5 have been swapped! All the other columns seems correct and I checked the actual invoices - the date showing on screen is correct - the printed version is wrong... I checked in PLD if the screen was showing posting date and the print out document date or something like that but it seems not. The template is 'Dunning Letter 01 (System) Doc ID DUN00001.
Can anyone advise where the problem is?

I found a SAP note which seems to be the same issue but it seems to me to be old and supposedly fixed by now - I am on 2007A PL40

Symptom:
You print Dunning letters for a BP whose dunning terms are set as One letter per BP. In the printout of the Dunning letters, the rows are mismatched in such a way that the document dates do not correspond to the document numbers.
This occurs when you have later documents with earlier document dates.
Sorry for sounding clueless but not sure what you mean about replicating on test database in order to log support ticket?
I do have a test database which I use to test things on but didn't notice the document no/date jumbling until I did it on the live one.
How do I log a support ticket >- my other problems have been resolved with forum advice..

XML Publisher/Report Definition - Excel Template Issue

Hi everyone,
I'm Diego, and I've been getting some issue to upload/download Excel templates using XML Publisher and Report Definition.
I've been working over Real Estate Module and I get an activity to make an Excel Report. I've made all necessary step to make an excel template; create a .xls template, uploading the file to XML Publisher Repository, creating a Report Definition associating a RDA, and so on...
When I generate the file in the Web (DV), it doesnt work; when I download the final excel, it doesnt appear any information. It comes just the statics texts and formatting, the real data information inside xml doesn't appear at excel.
I've made a lot of tests and changes, but without success.
FYI, I've already made a .rtf template and it worked well.
I'd really apreciate if anyone help me or at least having any clue about it.

First of all, thanks for reply.
I've checked the template definition, and it seems OK.
I've created the XML Publish Repository with Object Type = TL, in excel template I didn't put any additional info, (the field Template Type = TYPE_EXCEL_TEMPLATE cames by default).
As I told above, i've made many tests..with and without grouping, but no success.
However, when I test it locally it works. When I test the .xls + xml using Template Viewer runs well. But when I download the .xls on Web, it didn't retrieve any data information. =/
I've already downloaded this doc, and I'm using it as support.
If you need any more information, pls let me know that I'll tell you in a sec.

Email Template Issue in MS CRM 2015 Online

Hi,
We recently upgraded the CRM form 2011 on premise to MS CRM 2015 online.
We are facing the issue in Email Templates navigation in MS CRM 2015 online version as mentioned below.
SETTINGS-->TEMPLATES-->Email Templates getting the following error message.
I have deleted all the email templates in DEV instance but still this error occurred.
Please help how to resolve this issue. Its very urgent.

Odd DW CS3 Template issue

Hello everyone,
I was wondering if I could get some help on an odd issue I've
been experiencing with DW CS3. I have been tasked with adding
content to two templates we use (which include a vertical nav bar,
footer and header). After I've made my changes, I would save the
work and then be prompted to Update Pages. During this process, I
don't receive any errors (the only message I get is something like
"Dreamweaver needs to check out this file in order to update").
After all is said and done, I take a look at a few of the
(checked out) pages and I can see the template changes have been
made to them. However, when I check the file back in and take a
look at it online, the changes are not there. Incidentally, I saw
the page here by Murray featuring 7 points that may cause this
issue, but to the best of my knowledge, I have not committed any of
them.
Here's where things get weird: When I go back into DW and
check out the file (to see what went wrong), the web page (which
showed the template change not moments before) goes back to its
original, unmodified state. I've found a way to get around this by
using the "Modify > Templates > Apply Template To Pages..."
process, but with so many web pages, this seems counter-productive.
And this is the third time this issue has occurred for me.
Considering that, I wonder if I'm missing a step. Do I need to
check in the .dwt file after I've made the change but before I
update?
Insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all for your
time and patience.

Uh oh.
Using Templates in a site with checkin/checkout is a very
troublesome thing.
It's a tedious process, but you must be
systematic -
* have the client up-synch all files
* down-synch your local site
* make template changes and let them propagate
* up-synch
* notify client that it's safe to work on the site again
Wish it were easier myself....
(I assume you are working with Contribute or with other
developers, right?)

Dreamweaver Template Issues

Heyyy,
I have been trying to set up some Dreamweaver Template files.
I have defined an editable region for the content to go in, I then create a new file using this template and start editing the page. However when I put in too much content, the editibale region doesnt flow or stretch its height to match the content. (I have attached a screenshot of DW to show that the design looks fine, but you can tell that the content overflows the editable region guidelines)
This isn't a problem in any browser apart from IE7 (which I have attached a screenshot of to show you what is happening) where the content doesn't display properly.
I was just wondering if anyone might know how to correct this issue? If I need to provide any more details, code or screenshots it would be great if you could let me know. And thanks for any help offered!

Ezra-The best thing you can do to get help on this is put that page out there on a web server and provide a link. That will give the very helpful people here all the resouces needed to view what might be causing your problem. If you don't do this, it's just a guessing game that really nobody wants to play.
